I launched this podcast because I wanted to to cut through the bullshit that unfortunately pervades the industry I love so much. The fitness industry has been hijacked by people who are taking advantage of people's insecurities and fears, with promises of getting you the results you want, with very little energy or effort required.Attaining results short term shows that you're motivated, and can use discipline and restriction short term to get to where you need to be. You don't need to pay someone your hard earned money to get these results.Keeping results long term however, shows that you're willing to learn the principles that guide sustainable change, in all areas of life, and can balance your values on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. This is an investment into your future. If you're going to pay someone to guide you on your journey, ensure that the coach is also investing into your future, not just taking your money, getting you short term results, then leaving you in a worse place than you started 6 months later...Thank you to everyone who has tuned in over the last year, whether that was for one episode, or for all of them. I'm grateful for every single person who has given up what I consider to be one of our most precious commodities, time. Also a massive shout-out to everyone who has helped me along the way. My sister-in-law helped me launch the podcast.Every single guest who has come on the show to be interviewed, or chew the fat on a coaches corner, or client corner episode.Followers and listeners for providing me with content by sending through their questions for Q & A sessions.Everyone who has left me a rating and review, shared episodes with friends and family, or shared via social media stories.Much love!Your host - Shaun Kober Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coach_kobes/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/performancef... In episode 35 of the Platform to Perform Podcast I had the privilege of speaking to one of the world’s most renowned proponents of long-term physical development, Kelvin Giles. Kelvin has over 55 years experience in coaching and teaching, in a career that spans working with school children all the way up to national and international champions across multiple sports. Any coach who has the ability to distill their concepts and thought processes from the elite of the elite down to a school level will always be worth listening to in my opinion, and today’s podcast was no exception as I got Kelvin’s thoughts on:   · The logistical issues with assessing physical literacy (and how Kelvin would deal with these) · Why the journey towards personal well-being and the Olympic podium involve the same 4 pillars · Kelvin’s long-term development model for children, how this moves from general, to sports related to sport specific, and why behavioural outcomes are an overlooked but ever-present aspect of the education process   Resources Mentioned in the Podcast:   https://www.movementdynamics.com/ Physical Competence and the ‘5 in 5’ Greg Thompson’s YouTube Channel  -- If you feel you are in a position to support the Platform to Perform Podcast, or you simply want to improve your athletic development toolbox, check out my Patreon below. Hello listener This is the final episode of the CBD Perform Podcast Series One called Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research: CBD Perform Podcast Series One Conclusion, taken from our popular CBD Perform VLOG Series. I'm excited to welcome to the world of Medicinal Cannabis and CBD. This incredibly insightful podcast invites you to really get to know the cannabis plant, its constituents and the increasingly popular CBD oil. CBD oil is everywhere at the moment, now that it is legal in many countries around the world. It's a booming business, and there are some impressive claims made about what it can do for our body. This podcast sets out to explain what exactly Medicinal Cannabis and CBD oil is, and what are it's healing benefits. Based on the latest up to date research this course will methodically take you through all aspects of the cannabis plant, its constituents, and its products, and this information will hopefully leave you in no doubt that this is a remarkable plant, with remarkable products – which for some has had transformational results. The Medicinal Cannabis & CBD Oil podcast begins by introducing you to the cannabis plant. You will learn all about its botany, the vast array of varieties of cannabis plants (and how all these varieties came to be) and take a look at the long history of humanity's uses for cannabis. You'll then learn about the many products derived from the cannabis plant. In particular, you'll look at how CBD oil is made and the various ways it can be administered. You'll also get to know the cannabinoids, along with other constituents found in cannabis - exploring their therapeutic actions - before plunging into the fascinating world of the endocannabinoid system. You may not be aware of it but the endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a part of each of our bodies; a regulatory system designed to bring us into homeostasis – balancing our health and wellbeing. Furthermore, this system is comprised of receptors that interact only with cannabinoids – the compound found in cannabis. I explain this correlation and how this knowledge has aided further research and discoveries into the medicinal use of cannabis. When it comes to cannabis, one of the most-studied areas is its use in pain relief. Through your our discussion, we will assess its analgesic effects. From this foundation, I will walk you through the inclusion of cannabinoids in the symptom management of various conditions, including issues of cancer, the digestive and respiratory systems, the immune system, mental health, and the endocrine system. I conclude the podcast series by arming you with the knowledge you need to be able to seek out, understand and analyse good research. This is important, as it helps you to sift out the ‘snake oil' claims and get to the truth. Enjoy the world of CBD!
