JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey open this Washington Football Talk by celebrating the many achievements of Bobby Beathard, the legendary Washington executive who died earlier this week. After reflecting on Beathard, the guys then transition into a conversation about Anthony Lynn, who is the latest offensive coordinator candidate to interview with the Commanders. JP, for one, thinks Lynn is a legit possibility for the gig. From there, they launch into a celebration(?) of the franchise's rebrand, which occurred exactly one year ago. In this portion of the program, JP, Mitch and Pete hand out superlatives ranging from Best Storyline to Worst Off-Field Moment. And, to close, you'll hear JP's interview with Joe Pompliano, a sports business analyst, as the two of them chat about various aspects of Washington's transition to the Commanders — and if another transition could soon happen, too. If you like podcasts where you learn about another pursuit that Beathard dominated in aside from football and JP gets to further express his love for Major Tuddy, then this is the episode for you. So many highlights and good times were had over our 1st year. Inspiring stories, intriguing guests, and a "Common Folk" heartfelt perspective was offered throughout year 1. We want to say thanks to all the guests, they didn't always share the "fluffiest" or easiest stories to tell, but they were real, honest and everyone drew something from those conversations. Most importantly, we NEED to thank you. The support and listenership has been tremendous, maybe even overwhelming at times, but you can bet your bottom dollar we'll continue to put our best foot forward to deliver the Common Folk point of view in year 2!
"Alien Anatomy 101." They say you don't know someone until you live with them. Sometimes, you don't know your partner is an alien body snatcher until you're married. Marge Farrell learns this lesson the hard way when she marries Bill Bradley. Cold, emotionally distant, and silent--behavior that isn't so out of place when all of the men in town are actually from OUTER SPACE. Who will listen to Marge's concerns that her husband isn't the person she thought he was? The police captain? Bill's friends? Matthew and Quinton? If you picked the last choice, you guessed right! We're discussing this 1958 sci-fi classic from Gene Fowler Jr. to celebrate its 65th anniversary! Topics range from gender politics and paranoia to figuring out how aliens can mate with humans. And we have something special for this episode! Since the show's about to turn ONE YEAR OLD, we decided to have an award ceremony for all the films we've covered in 2022. Curious as to what films and performances we loved the most? Then stick around for the final third of the episode. We had fun doing it, and we hope you have fun listening!

Hey there mama! Having little ones in tow definitely changes things. Leaving the house is truly and adventure! Before I had my first daughter, I would leisurely leave the house for the gym and workout as long as I wanted. Those days are long gone, yet the present have much more sweetness to them. In today's episode, we are talking about how to get to the gym with a little one in tow, or in my case, with 2! Here we go! Let's make it to our workout daily, if that's our goal. We've all been there. You're at the park or on a playdate with your mom friends and their babes who are about the same age. You're trying not to - you really are - but you can't help but notice that your friend's baby is crawling or walking or doing something that your child is not yet doing. And they are the same age.You try not to panic. But the truth is, we've never done this before. We don't know what is considered “normal” and what isn't when it comes to so many things about our children, particularly their developmental milestones. I'm talking about things like rolling over, crawling, walking and other gross motor skills your pediatrician asks you about at every check up.Today, Dr. Brita DeStefano helps take the guesswork out of those developmental skills. Dr. DeStefano is board certified as a pediatric specialist and focuses her work primarily on babies between 0 and 2 years old where much of these developmental motor skills occur. We talk about lip ties and tongue ties as well, sleep positions, flat heads and helmets, and so much more.Get ready to feel empowered and to truly understand what's going on for your child in those very formative years so that you can work together to make this time enjoyable.
