Schiedler and his wife, Anne, co-founded the Chicago based Pro-Life Action League. During an IFI forum on the pro-life movement back in 2021, Schiedler spoke on moments from his life and work that we would find encouraging and uplifting. Schiedler passed away in 2021 at the age of 91.

16 years ago, Planned Parenthood opened a giant abortion facility in Aurora, IL. Life activists marked that anniversary this year with a prayer vigil outside of the building. One of the vigil speakers is pastor Randy Schoof, who leads the Warehouse Church in Aurora, challenged the attendees to continue praying and counseling on the sidewalks outside of the Aurora abortion mill. The next speaker is Eric Schiedler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League.

Earlier this month, Monte Larrick attended the Pro-Life Action League's protest against Walgreens and CVS pharmacies contemplating the sale of abortifacients, and talked with Eric Scheidler about this potential product. Eric Scheidler is the executive director of the Pro-Life Action League, and believes this is a move on the part of the corporations to prove they're woke. "We know that American corporations are becoming more and more woke. . .acting at the behest of the Democratic party and the progressive movement. . .But Americans do not want their local pharmacy to become an abortion facility which is effectively what's happening here. We could go from having about 650 abortion facilities in America to having 20,000 in America because these pharmacies are now dispensing these incredibly dangerous and incredibly painful drugs." The drug in question is RU 46, which is also known as Mifepriston. This "medication" is used in combination with misoprostol to cause a mother to miscarry her baby as late as 12 weeks along. "The misoprostol pill. . .causes contractions so extreme that women stagger to come up with the words to describe what they're going through. . .the baby is expelled [from their body] right there in their home. They see this tiny little embryotic corpse in the toilet--sometimes it survives and it's wriggling around! What do you do with that??" "Pro-Choice and Pro-Life Groups Some prominent pro-choice organizations include Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, the National Abortion Federation, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and the National Organization for Women. Although many pro-life positions derive from religious ideology, several mainstream faith groups support the pro-choice movement, such as the United Methodist Church, United Church of Christ, the Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church (USA), and the Unitarian Universalist Association. The 2016 Democratic Party Platform endorsed the pro-choice position, stating, “We believe unequivocally, like the majority of Americans, that every woman should have access to quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion – regardless of where she lives, how much money she makes, or how she is insured. We believe that reproductive health is core to women's, men's, and young people's health and wellbeing.” [169] However, 26% of Democrats consider themselves to be pro-life. [170] Some prominent pro-life organizations include The National Right to Life Committee, Pro-Life Action League, Operation Rescue, the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, Americans United for Life, the National Association of Evangelicals, Family Research Council, Christian Coalition of America, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon Church). A hero on the front lines of the abortion war has passed on. Joseph Scheidler, the founder and national director of the Pro-Life Action League, has died at the age of 93. Mr. Scheidler's impact on the battle for the life of unborn generations is incalculable. Besides his personal influence on pastors and other leaders, Mr. Scheidler was a street warrior, a relentlessly active presence at hundreds of protests and demonstrations at Chicago area abortion mills. The fruit of his work is readily visible, and now we eagerly await the multiplication of those fruits after his death (John 12:24-26). This interview is our tribute to Mr. Scheidler and his untold accomplishments. Appropriately, it was recorded at a Face the Truth Tour event six months ago on July 15, 2020. The continued lockdowns--allegedly due to COVID-19--are not inhibiting pro-life activists like Joseph Scheidler from taking to the streets. The Face the Truth Tour consists of pro-lifers demonstrating in front of abortion clinics with graphic abortion photos to demonstrate the reality of abortion. Mr. Scheidler and Monte talked about how this tour got started, and why it is so effective and convicting. They also discussed the pro-life situation in Illinois and America, the hypocritical nature of the BLM activists, and election 2020. A new Planned Parenthood has opened in Waukegan; even in the midst of a pandemic the evil want to shed innocent blood. Monte Larrick joined a civil protest outside the new murder center recently and conducted a short interview with the Pro-Life Action League's Executive Director Eric Scheidler. They discussed the need for a constant pro-life presence outside the clinic, possible legal challenges to the facility, and legislative action issues.

While numerous businesses have been designated as “essential” and allowed to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic, Illinois' governor has deemed houses of worship for all faith traditions as non-essential entities, denying people of faith access to these facilities for corporate worship and prayer. Monte Larrick spoke with Pro-Life Action League's Ann Scheidler at a May 1st prayer vigil, held outside Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, to protest Governor Pritzker's overreach. Mrs. Scheidler emphasized that now is the opportune time to stand up for our civil and religious liberties, as well as step up our pro-life activism. Currently the Illinois legislature is adjourned, but the “progressive” majority in Springfield have made clear their intent to repeal the Parental Notice of Abortion Act and to enact additional anti-family legislation. Mrs. Scheidler details why and how Christians and pro-life citizens must act now to elect pro-life candidates and derail legislation that will increase teen abortion rates and facilitate sex trafficking.
