It's Thursday, March 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Irish pastor in hot water for preaching outside hospital Authorities in Northern Ireland are prosecuting a retired pastor for preaching outside a general hospital. Seventy-six-year-old pastor, Clive Johnston, held an open-air Sunday service outside the facility last July. While the hospital does perform abortions, he made no reference to abortion, pointing people to Jesus Christ. Officials are charging Johnston with violating the Abortion Services Safe Access Zones Act.  He now faces a criminal record and fines totaling thousands of pounds.  The Christian Institute is representing Johnston. Simon Calvert, Deputy Director of the group, said this. CALVERT:  “Prosecuting someone for preaching John 3:16 near a hospital on a quiet Sunday is an outrageous imposition on free speech and Gospel freedom.” John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Hungary bans events that celebrate sexual perversion Hungary's parliament passed a law Tuesday banning events that celebrate sexually perverted lifestyles. Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán pulled no punches. ORBAN: “I advise [homosexual and transgender] pride organizers not to bother with the preparation of this year's parade. It would be a waste of money and time.” Orban wrote on X, “Today, we voted to ban gatherings that violate child protection laws. In Hungary, a child's right to healthy physical, mental, intellectual, and moral development comes first. We won't let woke ideology endanger our kids.” In response, members of a liberal opposition party, known as Momentum, lit colorful smoke flares inside the Hungarian Parliament while Orban was talking. They also rudely displayed manipulated pictures of Orban kissing Vladimir Putin. Plus, homosexual and transgender activists blocked a bridge in central Budapest in protest.  And one homosexual man offered his analysis. PROTESTER: “It's quite terrifying, to be honest, because we had the same in Russia. It was building up step by step. I feel like this is what's going on here. I'm not surprised that Viktor Orban doesn't have any original ideas. He only copying Putin or Trump.” Hungary's new law builds on the previous Child Protection Law which bans the promotion of homosexuality.  Dept. of Defense to cut 60,000 civilian jobs In the United States, the Defense Department plans to cut up to 60,000 civilian jobs.  The department aims to cut 5% to 8% of its civilian workforce which numbers nearly 900,000. Already 21,000 employees have voluntarily resigned.  The department hopes to make many of the cuts by simply not replacing workers who leave on a regular basis.  The cuts are part of President Donald Trump's efforts to slim down the federal workforce.  Trump paused $175 million to UPENN over male in women's sports FOX Business reports the Trump administration paused $175 million in federal funding to the University of Pennsylvania yesterday. At issue is the university's inclusion of men, pretending to be women, in women's sports, specifically William Thomas, a senior, who now goes by the feminine name Lia, and stole first place from Riley Gaines, a biological woman. The Department of Education is also investigating the Ivy League school following Trump's executive order to keep men out of women's sports. At stake is the university's total federal funding which amounted to around $1 billion last year. Minneapolis ordered to pay $450,000 to pro-life group over violation The city of Minneapolis, Minnesota agreed to pay $450,000 in a pro-life case last week. The city had barred Pro-Life Action Ministries from working near an abortion mill. The ministry sued the city in 2023 and won their case thanks to the help of the Thomas More Society.  Peter Breen, executive vice president of the Christian legal group said, “Politicians seeking to hinder and silence the efforts of pro-life sidewalk counselors should think twice—or it will cost them.” U.S. birth rate up thanks to Hispanic women U.S. births rose slightly last year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There were just over 3.6 million births last year, up 22,250 births from 2023. The rise in births is due in part to a rise in births among Hispanic women.  The U.S. birthrate has been falling for years, and experts don't expect last year's uptick to change the overall trend.  52% of Protestant churches grew after COVID pandemic Lifeway Research released a new report on worship service attendance for Protestant churches in the U.S. since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The report found 52% of churches experienced growth in worship attendance. Meanwhile, 33% saw attendance plateau and 15% experienced decline.  Also, around half of Protestant churches had at least 10 people make a new commitment to Jesus Christ as their Savior in the past year. Christian college students wrote Gospel of John on sidewalks And finally, Christian students wrote the entire Gospel of John on campus sidewalks at Western Kentucky University last week. Nearly 70 students from Baptist Campus Ministry and Cru, formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, and Hilltoppers for Christ got together with chalk to complete the task in about two and a half hours. Afterwards, they prayed for students at the university.  Luke Alford, Vice President of Baptist Campus Ministry, told Kentucky Today, “People look for answers in a lot of different things, and I think it's really good to have answers right in front of them.” John 1:1, 4 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . . In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, March 20th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. 3/17/25 - In a significant legal victory for pro-life advocates, the Indiana Department of Health has agreed to release previously withheld abortion records following a lawsuit filed by the Thomas More Society on behalf of Voices for Life. The lawsuit, filed in 2024, challenged the state's refusal to release Termination of Pregnancy Reports (TPRs), which are critical for ensuring abortion providers comply with state laws. The settlement ensures that these records will now be made available to the public with minimal redactions, allowing pro-life groups to continue their oversight of the state's abortion industry and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations. Melanie Lyon, Executive Director of Voices for Life, joins us to unpack the details of the report. Mike Ferguson in the Morning 10-15-24 Mary Catherine Martin, Senior Counsel at the Thomas More Society, talks about the intentionally obscure text of Missouri's Amendment 3. More than simply ending Missouri's abortion ban, Amendment 3 sets up Missouri for a dangerous future. Voters need to clearly understand the extremes to which this ballot proposal will take the state, both now and in the future. She's the attorney who took on Amendment 3 in the Missouri Supreme Court.  Amendment 3 will legalize, protect, and fund abortions in all 9 months of pregnancy. But  Amendment 3 is much broader than abortion. Amendment 3 creates a new "super-right" to "reproductive freedom." It's Tuesday, October 1st, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson South African homeschoolers face jail if kids not in school Last week, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the controversial Basic Education Law Amendments Bill into law in an effort to federalize and centralize control over the nation's education program. The law would levy a year-long prison sentence for truancy, ban all corporal punishment, and require parents to apply to the National Department of Education for permission to homeschool their children or face charges. Christian View Network has been warning for years that the bill is a radical threat to parental rights. Estimates put the number of homeschooled children in South Africa as high as 300,000, reports the South African Broadcast Corporation. An organization dedicated to protecting parental rights in South Africa, The Pestalozzi Trust, has informed the president they will be appealing the Act to the nation's high court. The Trust argues that “the Act imposes excessive regulatory burdens on parents who opt for homeschooling.” Austrian Freedom Party gaining ground The Left is facing a backlash in Europe. The right-leaning, Freedom Party of Austria gained more votes than any other party in the elections held over the weekend — now holding 29% of the seats in parliament. However, the Socialist Party, the left-leaning People's Party, the Greens, and the Communists together hold 67% of the seats. Germany and France witness political gains on the right Last month, the German election yielded more gains for the right-leaning Alternative for Germany Party than any other election since World War II.   And, in July, the French elections expanded the rightist party by 50% at the expense of the center. Hurricane Helene's death toll climbs to 116 Hurricane Helene has come and gone, and left a mass of destruction in its path. Ryan Cole, a North Carolina county emergency official, told The Independent Mail, “We have biblical devastation through the county. This is the most significant natural disaster that any one of us has ever seen.” The death count has topped 116 thus far. There are still 600 people missing in North Carolina. Officials count 46 fatalities in North Carolina, 27 deaths in South Carolina, 25 deaths in Georgia, and 13 in Florida. This makes for the second most deadly hurricane in the last 12 years. Could Amish save Western Civilization from Kamala? Could the Amish save Western civilization from Kamala Harris and the socialists?   That's what Scott Pressler from Early Vote Action thinks. Scott pointed out on X social media platform that  “there are 90,000 Amish voters in Pennsylvania, and the last presidential election was decide by 80,000 votes.” 2 pro-lifers get long prison sentences for peaceful civil disobedience A federal judge sentenced three more pro-lifers for participating in a protest at an abortion clinic in Tennessee on March 5, 2021, reports World Magazine. Chester Gallagher, the leader of the pro-life rescue, received a harsh sentence of 16 months. Heather Idoni was sent to prison for 8 months. And another pro-lifer received a 3-month probation sentence.   Four others -- Paul Vaughan, Calvin Zastrow, Coleman Boyd, and Dennis Green -- had already received sentences back in July. Attorney Steve Crampton with The Thomas More Society argued that the protest was “a peaceful demonstration by entirely peaceable citizens—filled with prayer, hymn-singing, and worship—oriented toward persuading expectant mothers not to abort their babies.” Calgary Pastor vs. Drag Queens Today, as I guest host for Kevin Swanson on Generations Radio, I interview a gutsy Canadian pastor named Derek Reimer in Calgary, Alberta. He dared to speak the truth at a Drag Queen Story Hour event at the library. Listen. McMANUS: “When you heard about these drag queen events where men dress up as women, really caricatures of women, with ridiculously heavy makeup, big wigs, crazy attire, long false eyelashes, and five-inch tall heels, what was your reaction when you heard that it was coming to your town, to your library?” REIMER: “That this was disgusting. It was vile. It was appalling, repugnant. I don't even have enough adjectives to describe it. “So, it's like this righteous indignation that rises up in protection of these little ones. Because when I went to drag events, there was a sign up, ‘Reading with Royalty,' ages zero to eight years old. That's disgusting, how they want to indoctrinate, sexualize and corrupt these little children.” Not only was Pastor Reimer arrested that time, but two additional times and spent 43 days in jail for simply objecting to drag queens in the library. To hear my whole 39-minute conversation, go to Generations.org/radio. That's Generations.org/radio.  Will Arizona imprison grandmother who feeds the homeless? And finally, Bullhead City, Arizona is looking at putting a grandmother in jail.   A U.S. district court ruled that Norma Thornton is guilty of providing food to the poor in a city park.  She was arrested in July 2022, and faces a fine of up to $1,431, 120 days in jail, and 24 months of probation. The city ordinance forbids any “food-sharing event” at a public park. For now, Norma continues to use up about half her income to feed 30 people a day in an alley behind a jet ski shop that has no shade, no tables, or no restrooms, reports WorldNetDaily.com. In Mark 8:6-9, “Jesus commanded the people to sit down on the ground, and He took the seven loaves and gave thanks and broke it, and gave to His disciples to set before the people, so they did eat, and were filled. And they that had eaten were about four thousand.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, October 1st, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Chinese Christian Reunites with Family A Christian activist from China finally reunited with his family in the US this week. 71-year-old Zhu Yufu had spent sixteen years in prison for defending freedom in China. After his release, he was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer. The US approved his application for urgent medical treatment and to reunite with his family. Yufu issued a statement through ChinaAid: “Thanks to the Lord's grace and the efforts of all of you, I had the chance to be reunited with my family . . . I pray constantly, believing that the Lord's grace is sufficient and that it will not be Satan or the forces of evil that will dominate everything on earth.” In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Apostle Paul wrote, “[The Lord] said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” Christian U.K. Teacher Banned for “Misgendering” Students Last week, a High Court judge in the U.K. ruled a Christian teacher should be banned from his profession for allegedly “misgendering” students. Joshua Sutcliffe did not use students' preferred pronouns based on his Christian beliefs. His decision did not break the law. However, the judge ruled Sutcliffe's religious beliefs did not justify his actions. Sutcliffe told GB News he plans to appeal and that this is an important case for the U.K SUTCLIFF: "This I believe is a really important case for our nation because obviously I have quite strong Christian convictions, but this is probably a more universal belief that we shouldn't be leading young people down this dangerous path, and that is what the principle argument in the court was." Another Court Blocks Biden Admin's LGBT Agenda Under the Biden administration, the US Department of Education has tried to extend civil rights protections to people living sexually perverted lifestyles. The new rule would protect so-called “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” in schools. Many states have sued the administration over the new rule. In the latest ruling, a US District Judge issued a preliminary injunction against the administration. It applies in Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The new rule is now blocked in 21 states. California's Attack on Abortion Pill Reversal Services A pregnancy center is fighting California's attacks on Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) services. California Democrat Attorney General Rob Bonta is trying to end APR services and silence pro-life groups. Culture of Life Family Services is now suing Bonta with the help of the Thomas More Society. Peter Breen with the legal group said, “With all of the crime and corruption in California, it is tragic . . . that AG Bonta . . . is using his vast resources to target pregnancy centers and strip women of . . . their right to continue with a pregnancy through the safe and effective Abortion Pill Reversal process.” Americans' Changing Beliefs on Moral Issues Gallup released their latest data on Americans' moral beliefs. Most people in the U.S. still say adultery, suicide, and polygamy are morally wrong. Most Americans now say birth control, in-vitro fertilization, and having a baby outside marriage is morally acceptable. However, Americans are more divided on issues like abortion, doctor-assisted suicide, and “changing one's gender.” Since the early 2000s, support for abortion is up 12 percent, support for divorce is up 19 percent, support for having a baby outside marriage is up 23 percent, and support for sexually perverted lifestyles is up 24 percent. Brazilian Athletes Praise God at the Olympics And finally, Brazilian athletes are winning medals and praising God at the Summer Olympics. 16-year-old Rayssa Leal won bronze in the women's street skateboarding final. Despite Olympic rules against religious demonstrations, she used sign language in front of the cameras to say, “Jesus is the way, the truth and the life,” quoting John 14:6. Meanwhile, Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina beat an Olympic record after riding a perfect 16-foot wave. Knowing his accomplishment, he went airborne at the end of the wave. An iconic photo of the moment shows Medina floating midair with his finger pointed upward. The three-time world champion posted it and quoted Philippians 4:13 which says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Close And that's The World View in 5 Minutes on this Thursday, August 1st, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Thursday, July 4th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Samuel Adams: “Let His kingdom come!” On this day in history, 248 years ago, the United States Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress meeting in Philadelphia.   Largely due to the tireless work of Samuel Adams, who was successful in lobbying seven of the 13 colonies to endorse the plan, independence was made possible for the United States of America in 1776.   Upon the signing of the Declaration, Adams declared, “We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in Heaven and from the rising to the setting sun, let His kingdom come.” Iran sentenced 5 Christians to total of 25 years in prison Authorities in Iran sentenced five Christians to a total of over 25 years in prison last month. Hamid Afzali received a 10-year sentence. Nasrollah Mousavi, Bijan Gholizadeh, and Iman Salehi each received a 5-year sentence. And Zohrab Shahbazi received a nine-month sentence.  Hengaw, a human rights organization, reports that officials have given no reason for the charges against the Christians. The group noted that although Christians are “acknowledged as a religious minority in Iran, authorities impose severe penalties, especially on those who convert from Islam to Christianity.” Iran is ranked ninth on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.  Conservatives dominated French election France held its first round of voting for its National Assembly on Sunday. The conservative National Rally won 33% of the vote followed by the leftwing New Popular Front at 28% and President Emmanuel Macron's centrist Together bloc at 21%.  Voter turnout was the highest on record since the 1980s. The popular National Rally opposes uncontrolled immigration, supports the growth of French families, and wants to eradicate Islamic ideologies from the national territory.  Daniel 2:21 says God “changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings.”  Federal judge sides with Kansas against Biden's transgender push In the United States, a third federal judge -- Louis Guirola Jr.  -- has halted the Biden administration's push of the unbiblical transgender agenda. A new rule from the Education Department allowed boys, pretending to be girls, to use girls' locker rooms and compete in female sports in public schools. A federal court in Kansas ruled against the Biden administration on Tuesday.  Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach said, “We're pleased the court ruled to rein in the administration's vast overreach. It's unconscionable, it's dangerous for girls and women, and it's against federal law.”  Tractor Supply Co. saw the light Tractor Supply Co. is walking back its support for left-wing causes. The retailer, which sells farm equipment and feed for livestock in primarily rural America, employs 50,000 people across 2,200 stores. To its shame, it rolled out a series of woke initiatives like funding drag queen shows and paying for disfiguring sex changes. After Tractor Supply got an earful of angry pushback from its conservative customer base, it released a statement last Thursday, acknowledging it had disappointed customers. Tractor Supply said it will no longer work with the Human Rights Campaign, the largest lobbying group in the U.S. for sexually perverted lifestyles. The company also said it would eliminate Diversity, equity, and inclusion roles.  I urge you to thank Tractor Supply Co. for seeing the light and returning to their conservative values. Wade.  First Liberty Institute reports that Heartbeat of Miami has finally reached a settlement in the case the details of which have not been made public. The religious liberty organization said the vandals are being held to account, calling it a big win for Florida's pro-life community.  Jeremy Dys with First Liberty said, “This case is a reminder that no one should suffer violence for simply providing faith-based counseling and baby supplies to women and their babies.”  Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Block-Robed Regiment: Colonial pastors who took a stand against tyranny As Kevin Swanson travels and speaks abroad, I guest host for him today on Generations Radio. On this Independence Day, discover how the pastors of the American colonies, derisively called the “Black-Robed Regiment” by the British, boldly taught their congregations the Biblical principles to resist tyranny. Take a listen to my interview of Dan Fisher, author of Bringing Back the Black Robed Regiment: How the 18th century church stood for liberty and why it must do so again. Dan is the co-pastor of Fairview Baptist in Edmond, Oklahoma, a former member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 2012-2015, and ran for Governor in 2018. His vision is that the American church will regain the “spirit” of the original “Black-Robed Regiment,” and once again actively engage in defense of truth and liberty. We discuss: *  Pastor Peter Muhlenberg of Woodstock, Virginia who took off his black robe in the pulpit, revealing a colonel's uniform, and challenged the men to fight. *  Pastor Jonas Clarke of Lexington, Massachusetts who trained his men to prepare for the April 19, 1775 showdown with the British which led to the shot heard ‘round the world on Lexington Green. *  And Pastor James Caldwell of Elizabethtown, New Jersey who brought hymnals to the Minutemen to use for wadding to fight the British. Listen to this important interview with your kids at Generations.org/radio. That's Generations.org/radio. Pro-life father of 11 avoids jail time for his pro-life activism And finally, a pro-life father of 11 will not have to serve prison time despite the efforts of the Biden administration.  The so-called Justice Department was seeking a year in prison for Paul Vaughn for participating in a peaceful protest outside an abortion mill in Tennessee.  Instead, a Tennessee judge gave him a sentence of three years of supervised release. While the Thomas More Society was pleased with the judge's leniency, they still called his conviction a deep injustice.  Following the verdict announcement, the group of pro-life supporters of Paul Vaughn spontaneously broke out in praise to God by singing the Doxology. PRO-LIFE SUPPORTERS of PAUL VAUGHN: (singing) “Praise Him above the Heavenly Host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.” PRO-LIFER: “Alleluia.” (group claps) Vaughn said, “We will appeal to have this unlawful use of the law overturned. We must stand and fight for what is right. We cannot bow down to the lie. Laws have to be grounded in truth. They have to align with the ultimate Lawgiver, who is Christ our Lord.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Independence Day, July 4th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Friday, May 31st, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Trump found guilty in hush money trial On Thursday, a Manhattan jury took fewer than 12 hours to return a guilty verdict in former President Donald Trump's New York criminal trial. The jurors found him guilty of 34 counts of falsification of business records with the intent to conceal another crime, reports The Epoch Times. The former president's conviction makes him the first U.S. president to be convicted of a crime. Short of a successful appeal, he could now be facing such penalties as jail time, probation, or fines. Ultimately, his sentence will be up to the presiding judge, Justice Juan Merchan. The judge has set the sentencing hearing for July 11 at 10:00 a.m. The six-week trial revolved around $130,000 in payments that Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, paid disreputable film actress Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg claimed that Cohen made the payments on Trump's behalf to buy Clifford's silence over an alleged affair that the former president denies took place. The district attorney further charged that Trump mislabeled his reimbursements to Cohen to conceal another crime, constituting felony-level falsification of business records. Bragg spoke to the press after the guilty verdict. BRAGG: “Their deliberations led them to make a decision based on the evidence and the law and the evidence and the law alone. Their deliberations led them to a unanimous conclusion, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the defendant, Donald J. Trump, is guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records, in the first degree, to conceal a scheme to corrupt the 2016 election.” As for what the underlying crime was, the prosecution was vague, identifying tax fraud, violations of federal election law, or the falsification of additional business records as possibilities. Notably, to return a guilty verdict, Judge Merchan explained that the jury was not required to agree on what the underlying crime was—just that there was one. In Job 42:2, Job made this statement to God: “I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.” Trump: “This was a rigged decision right from day one.” After the guilty verdict, Trump made a statement. TRUMP: “This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt. They wouldn't give us a venue change. We were at 5% or 6% in this district, in this area. The real verdict is going to be November 5 by the people. And they know what happened here. And everybody knows what happened here. We have a Soros-backed D.A. I'm a very innocent man, and fighting for our country and fighting for our Constitution. “Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent. We will keep fighting or we'll fight till the end and will win. “We don't have the same country anymore. We have a divided mess. We're a nation to decline, serious decline. Millions and millions of people pouring into our country right now from prisons and from mental institutions, terrorists, and they're taking over our country. We have a country that's in big trouble. This was a rigged decision right from day one with a conflicted judge who should have never been allowed to try this case. Never. This is long from over. Thank you very much.” Biden Campaign: “No one is above the law.” Michael Tyler, the communications director for President Joe Biden's campaign, said, “In New York today, we saw that no one is above the law. Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his own personal gain. “Convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president. He is running an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retribution. … A second Trump term means chaos, ripping away Americans' freedoms, and fomenting political violence – and the American people will reject it this November.” Laura Ingraham: “This will be the new normal.” Fox News host Laura Ingraham, host of “The Ingraham Angle,” sounded off on the Trump guilty verdict. INGRAHAM: “Think about this. Donald Trump gave up fame, fortune, and a very comfortable life to try to save America from the forces that are trying to tear it down right now. And if they can do this to someone like Donald Trump with his means, it will be very difficult to ever turn this around. So, are we going to establish a precedent where the President can put his political opponent in jail? Because if they can do this now, this will, I promise you, this will be the new normal.” Firefighter sues over being ordered to raise homosexual pride flag And finally, in March 2023, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution requiring that all county-operated facilities fly the homosexual/transgender Progress Pride Flag for the month of June, reports LifeSiteNews.com. In June 2023, Captain Jeffrey Little requested a religious accommodation that would exempt him from personally participating in the required raising of the Progress Pride Flag. On June 19, 2023, the Los Angeles County Fire Department initially granted Little's request and promised him that he would neither have to raise the Progress Pride Flag himself nor personally ensure that the flag was raised at his station. However, Little's religious accommodation was rescinded two days later on June 21, 2023. Then, the following day, June 22, 2023, Division Chief Fernando Boiteux issued a direct order to Little to raise the Progress Pride Flag. He said, “You are an L.A. County employee. That's the only thing that matters. Your religious beliefs do not matter.”  Thomas More Society attorneys are representing Captain Little in a federal lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which has illegally threatened Little with dismissal over his refusal to raise the homosexual/transgender “Progress Pride Flag.” The case, filed on May 24, 2024, in United States District Court for the Central District of California, charges the fire department with violating Little's rights under the First Amendment, federal law, and state law. Little's sincere and deeply held religious beliefs prohibit his participation in raising the so-called Progress Pride Flag. For that, he has suffered religious discrimination, harassment, and retaliation at the hands of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The department revealed to unauthorized persons that Little had requested a religious accommodation. Following that disclosure, Little received a death threat that also targeted his daughters. Psalm 34:19 says, “The righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, May 31st in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Dept. of Justice targets pro-life protestors Peaceful civil disobedience in the United States has long been tolerated by the media and government officials -- until now. Last week, two pro-life activists were sentenced to years in prison, for chaining themselves to furniture inside of the Washington D.C. Surgi-Clinic where abortions are performed. The protest occurred on October 22, 2020. As The Worldview reported on May 16th, 30-year-old Laruen Handy received a sentence of 4 years and 9 months. And 69-year-old John Hinshaw was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months. Steve Crampton, the Thomas More Society Senior Counsel who is representing the pro-lifers in this case, talked to Fox News Digital. He said, “This is not the America I know. …The contrast here with the Pro-Palestine folks shutting down the colleges and even preventing graduation ceremonies, and blocking entire highways and interstates, in addition to the ongoing attacks, yet there are virtually no ongoing investigations. I think there's kind of a palpable sense of selective prosecution elements that can't be ignored here.” The Thomas More Society is appealing the case.  Amos 3:6 asks, “If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid? If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?” Iranian president killed in helicopter crash Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister, along with seven other officials, were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday. The crash occurred in northwestern Iran near the border of Turkey. Raisi was elected as President in 2021. He represented the more hardline Islamic Clergy Association. During Raisi's administration, Iran continued to build its nuclear weapons capacity and support Hamas militants in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The devastated Iranian economy Iran's Gross Domestic Product per capita has suffered about the worst drop of any nation in the world — falling from $8,300 to $2,700 between 2012 and 2020. The country has only recovered slightly since then. Bidenomics is squeezing Americans  The assessment is in. Since the 2020 elections, Americans have slipped in their economic position. The Wall Street Journal reports that household net worth in the U.S. has flatlined since Biden took office.  That means no appreciable increase for the average household.  That compares to a 16% rise in household net worth over the 4-year Trump administration, adjusted for inflation. U.S. household income dropped by 5% Also, the U.S. median household income continues to fall from $78,250 back in 2019 to $74,580 today.   That's about a 5% cut in pay over five years. Argentinian president's great economic strides Forbes reports that Argentina's President Javier Milei is making giant strides with his economic policies in his first year in office.   First quarter 2024 government finances revealed a budget surplus -- the first since 2008.  Remarkably, Milei eliminated 70,000 government jobs in Argentina and suspended new public works contracts.  Plus, the inflation rate is moving in a good direction — 8.8% last month, down from a whopping 25% in December.  Where do most sexual perverts live? An international survey, published by Statistica, finds the highest percentage of people who associate with a sexually perverted lifestyle commonly referred to as LGBTQ are the United States, Israel, the Philippines, Thailand, Canada, Sweden, Brazil, and Australia. By contrast, South Korea and Romania claim the lowest percentage. Millennials vs. Baby Boomers on Electric Vehicles 22% of Millennials own an electric or hybrid car compared to only 4% of Baby Boomers, reports ZeroHedge.com. Electric Vehicle sales only make up a fraction of total car sales -- 1.4 million electric cars compared to roughly 14 million gas-powered light trucks and passenger cars. Pope Francis asserts that he doesn't allow blessings of homosexual unions The Roman Catholic Pope Francis was interviewed on CBS's 60 Minutes. He  clarified that he would not allow a blessing of “homosexual unions” because “the Lord made [the sacrament] that way.” He said that blessing homosexual unions goes against the law of the church. However, Francis does advocate the blessing of the individual persons. Listen to the set up question by CBS' Norah O'Donnell as well as the Pope's  response. O'DONNELL: “Last year, you decided to allow Catholic priests to bless same-sex couples. That's a big change. Why?” POPE FRANCIS: “No, what I allowed was not to bless the union. That cannot be done because that is not the sacrament. I cannot. The Lord made it that way. But to bless each person? Yes. The blessing is for everyone.” Recently, the Pope criticized national governments that criminalize homosexuality, stating that the behavior is not a crime while still it is a sin. Let us remember Proverbs 3:33. “The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the just.” Supreme Court vs. parental rights on kids' gender transitions And finally, the U.S. Supreme Court has taken a position against parental rights in schools that advocate gender transitions for children. Yesterday, the justices declined a Maryland school district case in which the school allowed for hiding information from parents about their own children's gender identity, especially from the parents deemed “unsupportive.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 21st in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Thursday, May 16th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Rising persecution of Latin America Christians International Christian Concern reports that churches in Latin America are facing increasing levels of persecution.  Thousands of Christians face attacks for their faith in countries like Cuba, Haiti, Mexico, and Nicaragua. These attacks often come from communist regimes, drug cartels, and violent gangs. For example, Cuba passed a law last year, putting restrictions on religious expression that criticizes the government. Pastors who speak out for religious freedom in Nicaragua face arrest. And Christians in Mexico and Haiti are facing more oppression with the rise of the drug cartels as well as gang violence. British pro-lifers march against birthday abortions Yesterday, hundreds of pro-lifers rallied outside Parliament in London. Lawmakers are considering two pro-life amendments as well as two pro-abortion amendments. The latter two would allow abortion up to birth. Lynda Rose, head of Voice for Justice UK, said, “A nation that indiscriminately and without cause seeks to kill its unborn up to birth is destroying itself. … With our callous disregard of the right to life, the United Kingdom is rapidly becoming a kingdom of death. For the future wellbeing of all, these evil amendments must be defeated.” Pro-life protestors are imprisoned In the United States, judges are handing out prison sentences for pro-lifers targeted by the Biden administration.  On Tuesday, a federal judge sentenced Lauren Handy to nearly five years in prison for peacefully blocking access to an abortion mill. Yesterday, the judge sentenced Jonathan Darnel to nearly three years in prison for his participation. A total of five activists have faced trial for the 2020 blockade in Washington, D.C. The pro-lifers' defendants are fighting back. Steve Crampton with the Thomas More Society said, “We eagerly look forward to appealing for [their] freedom, so that the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act can never again be weaponized by the Department of Justice against its ideological opponents.” Proverbs 17:15 says, “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” George teachers banned students from sharing Bible verses Public school teachers in Georgia banned students from sharing Bible verses. Two nine-year-old students were planning on sharing Easter eggs that contained the verses earlier this year. In response to the ban, the American Center for Law and Justice stepped in to defend the students. The Christian legal group reports they have now achieved victory for the students. They said, “The school has agreed to recognize our clients' constitutional rights to distribute religious materials, such as Easter eggs, candy canes, and anything else – even Bible verses.” Trump and Biden to debate on Thursday, June 27th President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are set to debate each other ahead of the presidential election this year. Both agreed to a debate invitation from CNN for Thursday, June 27. They also agreed to an invitation from ABC for September 10th. If Biden and Trump follow through on this debate in June, it will be the earliest debate between general election candidates on record. Inflation down slightly Inflation cooled down slightly last month. Consumer prices rose 0.3% percent from March to April, down from 0.4% the previous month. Year-over-year, inflation fell from 3.5% to 3.4% last month, the first decline this year. Danielle Hale, chief economist at Realtor.com, said, “The fight against inflation is not yet over, but the worsening trend observed in the first quarter of 2024 may have ended.” Drug overdose deaths dropped 3% Preliminary data suggests that drug overdose deaths in the U.S. fell for the first time in five years in 2023. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the data yesterday.  Nearly 108,000 people died from drug overdoses last year. That's down about 3,500 deaths from 2022.  The 3% drop follows a 30% increase in overdose deaths at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Massive solar flare And finally, the sun produced a massive solar flare on Tuesday.  It's the largest flare in the current 11-year solar cycle and the largest since 2005. This follows a week of significant solar flare activity which made the northern lights visible to people further south than usual.  Such geomagnetic storms can even cause disruptions to power and communication systems on Earth. Thankfully, the latest flare emitted from a part of the sun facing away from our planet. Why Rand Paul opposes Nikki Haley, TN police officer: Pro-life rescuers were peaceful, Nigerian Muslims killed 25 Christians

It's Friday, January 26th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims killed 25 Christians Nigerian Fulani Muslim herdsmen, and other terrorists, attacked villages in the Plateau State at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24th, killing at least 25 Christians, following the deaths of six others last week, reports Morning Star News. In a text message, Hosea Ibrahim said, “The invaders surrounded the village … and they shot at anyone they sighted. Twenty-five Christians, who were mostly women and children, were killed during the attack.” Why Senator Rand Paul opposes Nikki Haley's candidacy Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky is so philosophically opposed to Nikki Haley's GOP presidential candidacy that he created a new website – www.NeverNikki.net – exclusively devoted to his opposition. PAUL: “I'm announcing this morning that I'm ‘Never Nikki [Haley.]' And if you go to www.NeverNikki.net, you can let her know that you're not a supporter either. I don't think any informed or knowledgeable libertarian or conservative should support Nikki Haley. I've seen her attitude towards our interventions overseas. I've seen her involvement in the military industrial complex, $8 million being paid to become part of the team. “But I've also seen her indicate that she thinks you should be registered to use the internet. I think she fails to understand that our Republic was founded upon people like Ben Franklin, Sam Adams, Madison, John Jay, and others who posted routinely, for fear of the government, they posted routinely anonymously. So, I'm announcing today I'm ‘Never Nikki.' You can go to www.NeverNikki.net and sign up and show her that you're ‘Never Nikki' also.” Appearing on Tucker Carlson's Twitter show, Senator Paul shared more detail. PAUL: “It gets to me when I see people who I think care more about the borders of Ukraine than they care about our own southern border. I see these people every day because they're the entire Democratic caucus up here, but they're half of my caucus. Half of my Republican caucus is as we speak, ready to sell out, and they're ready to sell out fake border reform in exchange for what they really want, which is to send more of your tax dollars to Ukraine. “I think Nikki Haley fits right in that camp. I think she's from the [Senator Mitch] McConnell/ [Vice President] Dick Cheney wing of the party. And this is the antithesis of everything I believe in.” Trial begins for six pro-lifers targeted by Biden over peaceful protest The trial for six pro-life rescuers targeted by the Biden administration for peacefully protesting a Tennessee abortion mill back on March 5, 2021 began in federal court in Nashville on Wednesday, reports The Daily Wire. The pro-life activists are accused of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act for a protest that took place in a hallway outside of a Mount Juliet, Tennessee abortion provider. On that day, a group of demonstrators gathered on the second floor of an office building outside the innocuously named Carafem Health Center Clinic which is an abortion mill. The pro-lifers prayed, sang hymns, and urged women showing up to the clinic to not get abortions. Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.” Eleven of the protesters were arrested for trespassing, at the time, after local police arrived and dispersed the crowd. In October 2022, the 11 pro-lifers were indicted by a federal grand jury after the Justice Department pursued charges against them. Unbelievably, if convicted, the pro-lifers could face up to 11 years in prison and $250,000 worth of fines. As the trial began, roughly 40 people sat in the gallery, including family of those on trial and multiple people who brought Bibles along. During the opening statement, the federal government accused the pro-lifers of plotting to “block doors to a health care clinic” and saying that the demonstrators planned on being arrested. Each of the lawyers for the pro-life defendants then had an opportunity to give an opening statement.  Jodie Bell, Chet Gallagher's lawyer, said that the pro-lifers were peaceful and were only trying to convince pregnant women not to abort their unborn children. The other lawyers said that their clients never injured, threatened, or assaulted anyone during the protest. Steve Crampton, with the Thomas More Society, said that his client, Paul Vaughn, was an innocent man, and the protest was a “non-violent, peaceful exercise.” After the opening statements, the government called on Mount Juliet police officer Lance Schneider to testify. During his testimony, Schneider, who has been a police officer for 24 years, said that police were called to the scene because business was being disrupted. He said that the protesters were “not being violent” and were offering no physical resistance. Officer Schneider, who said he arrested four juveniles that day, noted that the Mount Juliet Police did not make any arrests for assault or fear of assault. After court adjourned, several of the pro-lifers on trial, and their supporters, gathered outside to sing the Christian hymn “All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name.” Overseeing the case is Judge Aleta Trauger, appointed to the court in 1998 by then Democrat President Bill Clinton. Snowboarding coach fired for affirmation of God-given gender And finally, a Vermont high school snowboarding coach, named David Bloch, was fired for stating that males are biologically different than females.  He's filing an appeal in federal court after the school district denied his request for reinstatement, reports FaithWire.com. Bloch explained. BLOCH: “During downtime at a competition that involved the team with a male athlete, who identifies as a female, two of my players and I were sitting together at a table. The conversation turned to whether male athletes should compete against female athletes based on asserted gender identity. One student at the table, a male, said that he thought athletes should compete against males or females according to their sex rather than asserted gender identity. The other student, a female responded by calling him transphobic. “I then joined the conversation. I said that ‘even though I recognize that people may express themselves in particular ways, what matters most when it comes to sports is the very real differences between the sexes.' I pointed out that ‘an archaeologist might not be able to determine whether a person identified as a male or female, but he would be able to tell whether the bones had male or female DNA.' “Everyone remained respectful. And even though we may not have agreed, the female student thanked me for what she called a ‘good conversation.' Even though the school district seized upon that conversation to hand me my walking papers the very next day.” Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, January 26th, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Friday, January 12th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslim kidnappers keep pastors hostage despite getting ransom Two Nigerian pastors kidnapped along with others last month remain captive despite their denomination paying the ransom for their release, reports Morning Star News. Rev. Elkanah Ayuba and Rev. Simon Ezra, both of the United Methodist Church, were among at least 20 people kidnapped on December 19th from Yorro County in Taraba State.   On January 4th, Rev. Micah Dopa, president of the Southern Conference of the United Methodist Church, said, “As a Body of Christ, we mobilized and paid $12,264 for our members to be released, but the terrorists decided to release only the Muslim victims in their custody. It is clear that the terrorists' activities are a plot to erase Christians in the area.” Chris Christie dropped out Just days before the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie dropped out of the Republican presidential race on Wednesday at a townhall meeting, reports LifeNews. CHRISTIE: “My goal has never been to be just a voice against the hate and the division and the selfishness of what our party has become under Donald Trump. It's also been to win the nomination and defeat Joe Biden and restore our party and our country to a new place of hope and optimism in this country. “I've always said that there came a point in time in this race where I couldn't see a path to accomplishing that goal that I would get out. And it's clear to me tonight that there isn't a path for me to win the nomination which is why I'm suspending my campaign tonight for President United States.” 10 pro-life rescuers go to trial next week On Friday, March 5, 2021 at 8:30am, some faithful pro-life Christians sought to rescue pre-born babies from certain death at an abortion mill, innocuously named Carafem Health Center, in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. As they peacefully blocked the door to the baby-killing center, they prayed that God would convict the mothers who had scheduled the executions of the babies in their wombs to choose life instead. Because the pro-life rescuers refused to leave, the police arrested them, reported NewsChannel5 in Nashville. To its shame, Biden's Department of Justice indicted these 10 rescuers on October 5, 2022 on charges of violating the misguided Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act and a conspiracy to violate the so-called constitutional right to abortion in the pre-Dobbs era.  The trial, which could lead to astronomical fines and up to 11 years in federal prison, begins next Tuesday, January 16th. Coleman Boyd, one of the indicted pro-life rescuers, videotaped part of that March 5th, 2021 rescue. Listen. BOYD:  “I will follow You, Lord and obey you. You show me what you want me to do, and I'll follow You and obey. What I can tell you it doesn't mean is comfortable American Christian living while babies are being murdered, while souls are slipping into hell. That I know it doesn't mean. So, whatever He's calling you to, you've got to seek the Lord. You've got to cry out to God and you've got to have a heart that I'm going to obey. ‘Be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved us.'” (Ephesians 5:1) Later, when Boyd saw a couple outside the Tennessee abortion mill coming towards him, he said this. BOYD: “Good morning, guys. Can I give you some literature? It's the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You know that Christ Jesus came to give life. He came to lay down His life for us. “I'm not sure why you're here at this building today, but if you're here for this abortion clinic, I plead with you today: Turn away from abortion, turn away from death, and turn to Jesus Christ. You know that Jesus laid down His life so that you can have life. Please talk with us.” As The Federalist recently declared, “If peacefully protesting abortion is criminal, but firebombing pregnancy centers is not, there is no rule of law.” Indeed, Peter Breen, an attorney with the Thomas More Society, who is representing Paul Vaughn, one of the ten pro-life rescuers, appeared on Fox News Channel with Tucker Carlson and cited the rich American tradition of civil disobedience dating back to Martin Luther King, Jr. BREEN: “Those who were arrested were leaning on the tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King. He himself was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. I mean, this is the great tradition of American civil disobedience. And it's not the sort of thing that you turn into a 10-year felony. We believe we have very strong defenses and hope to beat these charges at trial.” Please consider attending a prayer rally on Tuesday January 16th at 7:30a.m. right before their trial begins. The rally will be located at the Federal Court House, 801 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203. In a promotional email for the prayer rally, André De Toit, wrote, “We are living in a time where injustice rules, immorality is being celebrated openly, and truth is being perverted. Meanwhile, the Christian Church has grown cold and apathetic towards what God has called her to be.” Anti-Israel protestors derail San Antonio, Texas City Council meeting Yesterday, a group of about 20 anti-Israel protesters temporarily derailed the San Antonio, Texas City Council meeting just minutes into its first meeting of 2024 as they demanded a cease-fire, reports the San Antonio Express-News. Listen. ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP: “Ceasefire now. Ceasefire now. Ceasefire now. Ceasefire now. Ceasefire now.” LEADER: “What do we want?” ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP: “Ceasefire.” LEADER: “When do we want it?” ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP: “Now!” LEADER: “What do we want?” ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP: “Ceasefire.” LEADER: “When do we want it?” ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP: “Now! Free, free Palestine. Free, free Palestine.” Then, their chanting became personal as they accused San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who is Jewish, of genocide. ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP: “Ron, Ron. You can't hide. We charge you with genocide." LEADER: “Ron, Ron. You can't hide.” ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP: “We charge you with genocide. Hey, hey. Ho, ho. The occupation has got to go. Hey, hey. Ho, ho. The occupation has got to go.” One of the anti-Israel protestors revealed to KENS-5 TV their motivation behind shutting down the City Council meeting. MAZATL CIHUATL: “The main message to the city today is that we are going to make your life highly disruptive, highly inconvenient, until you acquiesce to our demands to sever your relationships with Israel and to immediately call for a permanent ceasefire.” After the meeting, Mayor Nirenberg told reporters, “We all want an end to the violence in the Middle East. We all want a just and lasting peace. The City Council is in no position to advance that.” This week, San Francisco made headlines when it became the largest city in the United States to call for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, following Seattle, Detroit, and Atlanta.  Denver and Minneapolis are considering similar calls. 53% of U.S. pastors want to quit And finally, as American pastors have grown increasingly discontent with their profession, 53% have seriously considered leaving pastoral ministry since 2020, according to a new study from the Hartford Institute for Religion Research. In 2021, only 37% of pastors thought about leaving the ministry.  Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, January 12th in the year of our Lord 2024.
