Trump voters (as well as innocent victims) are being denied federal disaster assistance. First, North Carolina got the middle finger, and then, in a moment of wonderful, beautiful glory, Sarah Huckabee Sanders—former shill for the first Trump administration and a horrible human being in her own right—requested funds to help with tornado cleanup, and was told, “No.”We can't say it loud enough, THIS IS WHAT YOU VOTED FOR.The best comment I've seen regarding the 2024 election came on a TikTok. Some crybaby loser was about to lose his small business because of the Trump tariffs. He was pleading with Trump to end them, saying he voted for Trump, but didn't expect this. The comment on his video was, “You failed an open-book test.”Yup.Who knew one a-hole could do so much damage in 100 days? Anyone and everyone with an IQ higher than that of a turnip.—Kanye West had an incestuous, homosexual relationship with his cousin.I mean…What more do we need to say?—George Santos is going to prison.Good on him. Lying, cheating, hilarious loser.Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.—Rex Parris, the mayor of Lancaster, California, said he wants to give homeless people all the fentanyl they want, and that maybe that will get rid of some of them.I mean… He's not wrong. He's probably trolling liberals, so, hey, liberals?Don't take the bait. You don't have to fly off the handle every time someone says something you don't like.Don't you get tired of being such thin-skinned crybabies?—Speaking of crybabies, Mike Lindell is in the news. Last week, he was sobbing on the phone with a judge (or maybe it was a Zoom call, I forget) saying he couldn't pay his fines, because he's destitute. Yeah, well, you're the one who lied and slandered, dummy. All you had to do was not be an insane a-hole, but that was too hard for you.Ending up homeless and in prison because you couldn't pay your fines would be just deserts for you, Mr. Pillow Douche. Anyway, his lawyers filed phony briefs filled with made up citations.Fine him some more!—What happens when Google Maps tells you to turn around, you're going the wrong way?Well, you drive past a concrete barrier meant to prevent traffic from entering an unfinished highway, and you drive off an incomplete ramp, dropping your car 40 feet in mere seconds.Dummy.Idiots on Parade: we mock the news, so you don't have to.Tune in and get your giggle on.Find Jake at @jakeveveraFind nathan at nathantimmel.com

Norm opens the show recapping his conversation with yesterday's guest, Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. Mayor Parris is certainly a climate change hawk, but Norm found his position a bit incomplete. That is especially so given the rather extreme commitment to coercing individual compliance with whatever science-inspired policy mandates that are Americans are likely to see tested in the coming years.  The Mayor mentioned Bill Gates as a trustworthy authority on the topic. Maybe that is okay. But it is a faith quite removed from that of a majority of the country who watched Gates influence American media during the height of government pandemic hysteria.  We'll stay on this.  What is pickleball? What is the appeal? Norm asks listeners to call in and explain.  Norm then shares a story of working within the brain trust for a political campaign back in the late 80's, and how his inability to parse the utter BS led to his resignation. The candidate ultimately lost. Coincidence? The House Select Committee on January 6th continues to renege on its promises to show the American public real evidence of the Trump-led conspiracy to overthrow the Capitol during certification of the 2020 presidential election.  And was there an ambiguity in Vice President Pence's obligations with respect to the certification, or not? If not, why pass the recent bill clarifying the role thereof to eliminate doubt? If so, why was President Trump's interpretation of the law categorically unreasonable? Norm shares his belief that the American identity is up for grabs by discussing the seditious conspiracy charges against Proud Boys Enrique Tarrio and Joe Biggs. Have you heard the recent revelations regarding the third unidentified Proud Boy that has come forth to call out the lack of evidence pointing to any cognizable plan with respect to J6? The feds are sitting on hundreds of hours of videotapes and recordings, but are curiously not relying on any of it in their pleadings.  What does this mean for the overheated rhetoric of the J6 Committee? No attempted coup. No link betwen Proud Boys and the President. Where's the beef?! Norm spends the back half of the episode discussing the loss of communal trust, out of control violent crime rates, and growing homelessness around the country.  Like, share, and subscribe! Norm opens the show reflecting on the Dobbs decision and Senator Ted Cruz's recent remarks concerning the future of other supposed 'rights' derived by the Court pursuant to its right to privacy jurisprudence in recent decades.  In particular, Norm is preoccupied today with the thought that the federal right to gay marriage will indeed be the next to be peeled back. But he is uncomfortable with that. Of course, the decisions are a mess. But they're not ones that Norm is ready to disband the republic over. And doesn't that seem like what's stake? Norm reviews the function of the bill of rights—the first ten amendments to the constitution and the subsequent amendments ratified and added in later years. We don't want Justices making law based on what they think it should be; that's the role of Congress and our elected legislative officials.  Norm shares a rare story about being recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency back in the early 1980's and his trips to Manhattan and D.C. for a series of interviews. Hear why Norm probably flunked his polygraph exam.  One thing that stuck out was the insistence from the Agency that it know whether Norm had ever indulged in homosexual activities. Maybe it was the middle finger to the two-way mirror on his way down the hall. Maybe it was his palpable issues with authority. Whatever it was that kept Norm from becoming an Agency operator, we will never know.  The file is guarded by the Privacy Act.  Norm takes calls from listeners to discuss the likelihood that Dobbs forecasts some foundational shifts in our rights to privacy in the years ahead, and why Ted Cruz's comments are not so absurd all things considered.  America is currently playing with its social chemistry in ways that are having unexpected consequences.  Norm is joined in the second hour by R. Rex Parris, famed trial lawyer, Mayor of Lancaster in northern California, and longtime friend of Norm's.  Rex joins Norm to discuss his experience as a mayor and his view and approach to the climate change spectacle dominating our media headlines. Parris is keen on understanding how to create the first "net zero" city in the country by way of hydrogen technology and its innovations.  Are we really staring down an existential threat to human existence? Rex did not always believe this, of course. He would say "belief" is the wrong way to conceptualize it. According to Rex, the science about climate change is indisputable. What did Rex read? Norm asks for his listeners. Rex references a book by Bill Gates he found persuasive.  Norm and Rex discuss the recent Supreme Court decision regarding the EPA and the likely consequences.  Like, share, and subscribe! Only 25 at the time of the collision with Schilling's car, Taylor suffered a broken neck and severe spinal cord injury that rendered him a quadriplegic. A previous corrective back surgery for adolescent scoliosis conflicted with the post-accident reconstructive back surgery, causing serious infection and extensive hospital stays. Today, Taylor requires round-the-clock care. A Los Angeles, California jury returned a verdict of $41,634,170 in damages.     Click Here to Read/Download Trial Documents   Guest Bio: Rex Parris Rex Parris is recognized as one of the most successful and innovative trial lawyers alive today. Rex handles a wide variety of cases, ranging from severe personal injury to class actions, products liability, and business torts. When he is not in trial, Rex tours the country speaking to trial lawyer organizations about the intersection of cognitive science and the persuasion of jurors. Rex has been profiled in numerous national media outlets, including “20/20,” “Nightline,” the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and a myriad of legal journals. Rex has achieved outstanding results in the courtroom over the span of his career – he obtained the first million-dollar verdict in California's Kern County as a young lawyer and, years later, obtained a historic, record-breaking defamation jury verdict in Los Angeles for $370,000,000. In between, Rex has obtained dozens of seven-, eight- and nine-figure verdicts and settlements. His success is hardly happenstance – Rex prepares every case for trial using the latest science in persuasion skills. Everything from metaphoric choices, word selection and visuals are tested and re-tested before each trial. In addition to managing his trial calendar and the Firm's diversified practice, Rex also manages one of California's fastest-growing cities. As the mayor of Lancaster since 2008, Rex has gained nationwide media attention for his efforts to improve the wellbeing of the city's residents. For example, gang violence dropped 82%, the city's downtown area was completely redeveloped during the worst economic downturn in over 75 years, and all of the city's municipal buildings were converted to solar power. Rex and his wife, Carrol, founded the Firm in 1985 with the goal of building a truly great law firm. That goal has never changed – they continue to innovate and work tirelessly to improve the service and results they provide daily. My first long-form interview guest for Law and Legitimacy is one of America's great trial lawyers, R. His answers will surprise you.  Rex has spent several decades mastering cognitive sciences, treating the courtroom and the city council chamber alike as a laboratory. He shares some basic insights into how our hearts, minds, and bodies interact.  I cannot claim to understand it all, but I know his vision on the subject is compelling and I want to know more.  Rex has been a good friend of mine for 25 years.  After spending a week with him in my recent trip westward, I thought, "Wow!
