It's been another long, hot day at Wimbledon with the fans on Centre Court and No. 1 Court. Join Joel and Kim as they discuss Sinner opening with some serious serving stats whilst Draper made light work of Baez who still hasn't won a tour level grass match since Eastbourne 2023. They also get to the bottom of the beef that broke Round 1 between Fritz and Perricard and just why their match was stopped last night and whether that was the right decision. However the seed exodus continued with last year's semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti and Halle champ Alexander Bublik suffering surprise defeats along with Alexander Zverev whose poor showings at Wimbledon continues. On the women's side, French Open champion Coco Gauff suffered another early exit at the hands of dangerous Dayan Yastremska. Defending champion Barbora Krejickova overcame a slow start against up and coming Alexandra Eala in three sets but two-time former champion Petra Kvitova made her final Wimbledon bow in defeat to Emma Navarro. It wasn't all smooth sailing for the Americans as recent Bad Homburg champion (and avid Call of Duty gamer) Jessica Pegula was dismissed along with Queen's semi finalist Qinwen Zheng. They also unveil the gang's Collect a Set predictions for the tournament and look ahead to Day 3 with Carlos Alcaraz returning against Britain's newest surprise package Oliver Tarvet.BABOLATBabolat are an official partner of Wimbledon and their Wimbledon collaboration collection is available to purchase now from babolat.com SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. In this conversation, Ben speaks with Robin Williams, Wendy Toribio-Baez, and Vanessa Bethea-Miller about the intersection of trauma-informed practices, behavior analysis, and parenting, particularly in the context of colonization and historical trauma. They explore how these factors influence parenting styles, the importance of self-reflection, and the need for cultural humility in practice. The discussion emphasizes the significance of understanding historical trauma and its impact on behavior, especially in at-risk youth, and the role of intersectionality in shaping experiences and identities. The speakers also highlight the importance of community support and ongoing education in addressing these complex issues. Anel Báez Álvarez's story is one of both light and darkness. From her childhood in Guamúchil, Sinaloa, she displayed a vibrant personality and a love for the arts, especially dance and music. Her close-knit and strong family faced challenges when her mother, Aide Álvarez, was diagnosed with cancer, leaving a profound impact on her children after her death in 2012. As she grew up, Anel became an exemplary young woman, dedicated to her home, studies, and relationships. In high school, her charisma made her stand out among her peers, and her love of music led her to form a band. However, this happiness was marred when a tragic event marked her fate, generating a wave of outrage across the nation. The case of Erandy, who received a reduced sentence due to legal reforms, generated great controversy. Protests and social media movements demanded justice for Anel. Her brother, Hugo, expressed his disappointment with the judicial system, denouncing the impunity and lack of consideration for the victims. This case continues to resonate in Mexico's collective memory. Distribuido por Genuina Media

The St. Louis Cardinals promoted rising outfield prospect Joshua Baez from High-A Peoria to Double-AA Springfield this week after the 21-year-old former 2nd round draft pick (2021) showed everything the organization needed to see from him at A-ball.We discuss Baez's promotion in the context of the crop of other outfield prospects that the Cards have working their way through the system.Plus, is there a case to be made that Michael McGreevy will be up with the big-league team sooner rather than later? A look at the June schedule may be all it takes to compel the Cardinals to give him a call.

Are you ready to sell your business? It may be time to pass your family firm to the next generation. What do you do? Where do you begin? How can you ensure that you follow your values and transition your business with purpose, kindness, and profit? Maybe it is time to meet Erika Baez Grimes. What is the Human Side of Business Transitions? In this compelling episode of On the Brink with Andi Simon, we delve into the human side of business transitions with Erika Baez Grimes, a seasoned business broker, M&A specialist, and purpose-driven entrepreneur. Erika's extensive experience as a Senior Certified Mergers and Acquisitions Professional with Transworld Business Advisors, and as the founder of The BPH Group and The Buyer's Agency, makes her a trusted voice in the industry. Her mission is clear: to help people do good deals with good people—transactions rooted in legacy, emotion, and values, not just numbers. Erika and I first connected at the Entrepreneurs with Companies of Purpose event, and I knew she had a story to share right away. In this episode, she opens up about her journey from helping her grandfather run fashion boutiques in Orlando to rising as a respected voice in the business brokerage industry. Her early exposure to entrepreneurship gave her a lifelong passion for business and sales, a path she blended with her experience in banking and corporate leadership. Some Practical Advice is Essential to Transition your Business Throughout our conversation, Erika offers practical advice—and heartfelt wisdom—for business owners contemplating an exit and aspiring buyers looking to acquire a company. She discusses the "silver tsunami" of baby boomers preparing to retire, legacy businesses' emotional and strategic complexity, and the rising interest among women in acquiring established enterprises. Erika shares three essential things every seller should do before they decide to sell: Start the conversation early—if you're considering selling, it's time to talk. Work yourself out of the business—the more your business can run without you, the higher its value. Keep clean, transparent financials—they are the real story buyers will trust (or not). You might like to watch our podcast on YouTube here: But Erika also goes deeper. She highlights how business owners often feel lost after they exit. Their identity has been deeply tied to their company, and the vacuum that follows can be disorienting. That's why Erika emphasizes the importance of planning for the transaction and the transition. Who will you be when you're no longer the CEO? How Does Culture Share Your Succession Plan? We also explore how culture shapes succession planning, particularly in family firms. Erika works closely with multigenerational businesses and understands the delicate dynamics between personal relationships, employee loyalty, and strategic vision. She emphasizes the importance of finding the right buyer—someone aligned not only with the financials but also with the founder's legacy and values. Avoid Buyers Remorse For buyers, Erika offers clear guidance: prepare before you pursue. Get financing lined up, know your strengths, and approach the opportunity with transparency and intention. Sellers want to know their business will be in good hands. And increasingly, those hands belong to women—smart, driven, and ready to lead. Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur looking to exit or someone considering buying their first business, Erika's insights are honest, helpful, and deeply human. This episode is a masterclass in purpose-driven dealmaking and the art of helping others transition from one chapter to the next with clarity, care, and confidence. Key Takeaways: Why the timing of a business sale is both emotional and strategic What makes a business attractive to buyers—and how to increase your value How Erika helps bridge the gap between a seller's legacy and a buyer's vision The growing role of women in M&A and business acquisition Why coaching and self-discovery are vital post-exit tools for sellers You'll leave this conversation with a clearer understanding of the M&A process, the questions you should be asking (whether buying or selling), and a renewed appreciation for the human side of business transitions. Welcome back for another adventure with Aaron and Ethan. We highlight a few things we liked so far this season (Catchers, Nimmo catch, Baez hitting) while bemoaning what we didn't like (last-place teams and the Rockies). Ethan shares what team he'd play for if there were open tryouts. Rockies and Rangers share an award; Cubs are highlighted in the trivia question and we even gave props to the Astros. Things start out with a little NBA dream though, so it felt a little weird, but we ended with Aaron's quick recap of his recent baseball road trip and his favorite stop in Frisco, TX.
