Fish Out Of Water Deluxe Edition - singles Produced by Jeffrey Crecelius, Wayne Hall, Preston Frazier and Bill Govier This week Mark and I begin to consider what happened when the band essentially split up a short time after the Drama Tour ended almost exactly 39 years ago in December 1980. So we have the chance to see what each member of the band did next and we’re starting with Alan White and Chris Squire. What was XYZ?Who was involved?Where did Run With the Fox come from? Produced by Jeffrey Crecelius, Wayne Hall, Preston Frazier and Bill Govier This week Mark and I had planned to start looking at the next exodus from the band. Yes had essentially disbanded after the Drama tour had come to an end and so we have the opportunity to examine what each member of the band did next - Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes, Steve Howe, Alan White and Chris Squire. First we were going to listen to the next chapter in Squire and White’s journey - so that’s XYZ with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page - a project which didn’t go anywhere in the end but did produce some demos and, particularly relevant at this time of year, Ru WIth The Fox, the duo’s strangely unsuccessful Christmas single. Unfortunately, Mark has not been well this week so we’ve decided to shelve this episode until next week. In the meantime, I’ve put together a selection of clips from the Yes authors we have spoken to in 2019’s Patreon group. If you’ve already heard or actually seen these because you are a Patron, then I hope you enjoy hearing some highlights again and if you have been wondering whether to start helping the YMP out financially, maybe this will tip you over the edge - one way or the other! The new Yes album - From A Page Produced by Jeffrey Crecelius, Wayne Hall, Preston Frazier and Bill Govier This week Mark and I give our in-depth view of the new Yes album (or EP if you prefer), From A Page. Song of Seven Produced by Jeffrey Crecelius, Wayne Hall, Preston Frazier and Bill Govier This week Mark and I discuss the next musician to leave the band, Jo Anderson and what he did next. In the first part of our feature, we talk a little about the reasons Jon left in 1980 and the first solo record he released after leaving, Song of Seven. We will return to a more in-depth look at the album itself in a couple of weeks’ time. We are gearing up for next week’s 400th episode of the show which will feature a great interview with someone you’ll recognise as well as an epic competition to win lots of Yes and Yes related items. You’ll need to have your Yes thinking caps on to stand a chance of winning something. Lots more on that next week. Listen and let us know what you think! Gates and Tim Morse's Yesstories Produced by Jeffrey Crecelius, Wayne Hall, Preston Frazier, Bill Govier and VR Hoisington This week we have a slightly different format to the episode. Mark and I enjoyed listening to three different live versions of Gates of Derilium a few weeks ago but we didn’t get around to posting our thoughts - so that’s what you’ll hear first. Then, we did a great interview with Yes book author, Tim Morse, this week for the Patreon community and I wanted to include some of that here because Tim once collaborated with Jon Anderson and also recently released his third solo album so there’s plenty to learn about him. So I’ve clipped out a few parts of our conversation to play here and if you want to see the complete video of our chat, complete with various drinking vessels and Tim’s cat, you need to head over to Patreon. If you are already a patron, it’s all there for you and if you have yet to join in, you can do that at the same time. Listen and let us know what you think! We're back after a little break for a super exciting interview — Jon Rettinger, and old friend of the pod (and friend in general). Produced by Jeffrey Crecelius, Wayne Hall, Preston Frazier, Bill Govier and VR Hoisington Peter Banks After seeing Fernando Perdomo's Peter Banks replica Yes guitar, we were inspired to watch some early Yes videos featuring the original guitarist. We also find time for a quick 2 Pence on a single song we would both like to add to the Cruise to the Edge set list! What is Peter Banks doing on stage?Could he have continued with the band? What did the other members think of him? It's that time of year againThe mince pies are out in force, the weather is pretty miserable (applicable in the UK) and YouTube has released the second most disliked video on their platform. That's right YouTube Rewind is back and this year it has been chastised for many reasons that we will be exploring within this weeks instalment of #LYE. We dissect the video and ponder what they could change about the concept next year to ensure they receive more likes than dislikes. Or at the very least not make it into the top 10 most disliked videos on the platform. That would be a start wouldn't it?It's also the last episode in this series so to those of you who enjoy listening to us ramble and even enjoy reading these (if there are any of you?!) descriptions from the bottom of our hearts we thank you and look forward to returning in the new year with some shiny new concepts but we promise we will continue to Lower Your Expectations. Thanks guys and have a brilliant festive period.xxCheck out MoreMarcus on YouTube for the best of this week’s episode, at YouTube.com/MoreMarcusSubscribe on iTunes: iTunes.com/LowerYourExpectationsSubscribe on Android: SubscribeOnAndroid.com/MarcusButler.net/rssSubscribe to Marcus on YouTube: YouTube.com/MarcusButlerFollow @MarcusButler & @MattViney12 wherever you can find us! Is this the end of YouTube? That's the question we're exploring in this weeks episode of Lower Your Expectations. Following the passing of Article 13 YouTube could be held liable for all content uploaded within the EU and as a result this could see the platform banning any video that uses any third party content. That includes many of your favourites including Pewdiepie, Philip De Franco and Red Letter Media. But why is this happening? When will it happen? Who's to blame? Is it a mistake? We attempt to answer all of these questions (but please forgive us if we fail on this noble quest)Sources:https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/record-industry-attacks-youtube-for-carpet-bombing-propaganda-over-article-13/ https://www.huffingtonpost.com/enrique-dans/google-news-leaving-spain_b_6325244.html https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en/faq/frequently-asked-questions-copyright-reform https://saveyourinternet.eu https://www.theverge.com/2018/9/13/17854158/eu-copyright-directive-article-13-11-internet-censorship-google https://www.alphr.com/politics/1009470/article-13-EU-what-is-it-copyright https://youtube-creators.googleblog.com/2018/09/why-creators-should-care-about-european.html https://www.wired.co.uk/article/what-is-article-13-article-11-european-directive-on-copyright-explained-meme-ban https://www.theverge.com/2018/9/13/17854158/eu-copyright-directive-article-13-11-internet-censorship-google https://www.theverge.com/2018/11/20/18104535/yotuube-pop-up-article-13-copyright-european-union-eu-warning https://www.alphr.com/google/1010202/google-could-close-google-news-thanks-to-eu-rulings?utm_content=buffer71300&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer Support Us On Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/LowerYourExpectationsCheck out MoreMarcus on YouTube for the best of this week’s episode, at YouTube.com/MoreMarcusSubscribe on iTunes: iTunes.com/LowerYourExpectationsSubscribe on Android: SubscribeOnAndroid.com/MarcusButler.net/rssSubscribe to Marcus on YouTube: YouTube.com/MarcusButlerFollow @MarcusButler & @MattViney12 wherever you can find us!————— See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Jerika is no more. That's right the bedrock that featured heavily in Shane Dawsons "The Mind Of Jake Paul Series" has been dislodged which raises a whole host of questions about the validity of the truths uncovered in the series. We also discuss the impact a break up can have on the former couples business affairs. In other internet related news we unravel the mess that Defy Media have accumulated and what their closure means for the YouTubers who were represented by them.Support Us On Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/LowerYourExpectationsCheck out MoreMarcus on YouTube for the best of this week’s episode, at YouTube.com/MoreMarcusSubscribe on iTunes: iTunes.com/LowerYourExpectationsSubscribe on Android: SubscribeOnAndroid.com/MarcusButler.net/rssSubscribe to Marcus on YouTube: YouTube.com/MarcusButlerFollow @MarcusButler & @MattViney12 wherever you can find us!————— See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
