Die bisher nur in China veröffentlichte Grafikkarte AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE mit 12 GB VRAM ist jetzt offiziell weltweit verfügbar, in Deutschland etwa ab 550 Euro erhältlich. Normalerweise würden wir sagen: Mehr Auswahl ist gut für uns Verbraucher. Aber in der aktuellen Marktsituation ergibt diese Grafikkarten keinen Sinn. Zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme kostete die deutlich stärkere und mit mehr VRAM ausgestattete 9070 ebenfalls 550 Euro. Ob das so bleibt? Fraglich. Andere alte neue Sachen von AMD sind erfreulicher: Zum 10-Jahre-Jubiläum des Sockel AM4 kommt die erste CPU mit 3D-V-Cache wieder! Ryzen 7 5800X3D ist auch heute noch eine exzellente Gaming-CPU und angesichts der absurden Preise für DDR5-Speicher eine gute Möglichkeit, noch vorhandenen AM4-PCs eine Verlängerung der Lebenszeit zu gönnen. Auch wenn der Preis von 349 Dollar UVP nicht gering ist. Nebenbei verspricht AMD nun, den Sockel AM5 bis mindestens 2029 zu unterstützen. Das geht gut zusammen mit den Gerüchten, Zen 6 für Desktop würde erst 2027 erscheinen. Jensen Huang und Nvidia machen ja nichts unter einer Revolution: Zusammen mit Microsoft wolle man den Windows PC neu erfunden haben. Gemeint ist damit der sog. Superchip RTX Spark, der 10 nicht näher beschriebene Cortex-Kerne von ARM mit einer Blackwell-GPU der Klasse 5070 in einem Package kombiniert. Windows on ARM ist immer noch so eine Sache, aber RTX Spark ist auch weniger für Menschen, sondern mehr für "AI-Agents". Viel Spaß mit Folge 310! Die Computex in Taipei ist in vollem Gang, einige in dieser Folge besprochenen Punkte sind inzwischen offiziell bestätigt: Die bisher nur in China erhältliche Grafikkarte AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE wird weltweit erscheinen. In der Performance etwas unter der RX 9070, aber mit nur 12 GB VRAM, die UVP beträgt 549 Dollar, also der gleiche Preis wie die 9070 zu Release. Preissteigerungen von 9070 und 9070 XT wären daher keine Überraschung. Intel nimmt inzwischen den Markt der PC-Handhelds ernst und bietet mit Arc G3 und Arc G3 Extreme zwei darauf optimierte SoCs auf Basis von Panther Lake an. Das Angebot wird von zahlreichen Herstellern angenommen wie selbstverständlich MSI, die schon zuvor auf Intel anstelle von AMD setzten, aber auch Acer. Die Preise werden happig. So soll der MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ mit Arc G3 Extreme 1500 Dollar kosten. Das Steam Deck ist zwar grundsätzlich wieder erhältlich, aber ob das noch eine Empfehlung ist? Einerseits ist es inzwischen einfach veraltet, andererseits hat Valve die Preise massiv angezogen: Das Steam Deck OLED kostet mit 512 GB SSD 779 Euro (zuvor 569 Euro), mit 1 TB 919 Euro (zuvor 679 Euro). Da wirkt sogar das Asus ROG Xbox Ally für derzeit etwa 900 Euro wie ein guter Deal, zumal es auch deutlich mehr Performance bietet. Viel Spaß mit Folge 309! Es ist gerade eine üble Hitze hier in der Chefredaktion von Technikquatsch. Eines Tages wird dieser Text in einem auch im Sommer wohltemperiertem Büro mit guter auf der Nordseite eines gut gedämmten Hauses entstehen. Das ist der Traum. Unsere Gehirne mögen noch so gekocht sein, im Silicon Valley scheint es noch schlimmer zu sein, obwohl dort alles klimatisiert ist. Anders lassen sich die KI-Fantastereien dort nicht mehr erklären. Ok, es gibt andere Erklärungen, die sind aber deutlich weniger schmeichelhaft, aber leider auch wahrscheinlicher. Worauf das abzielt, sind im konkreten Fall die Verschlimmerungen der Google Suche. Microsoft hingegen ist bestrebt, die Integration von KI-Gedöns weniger invasiv zu gestalten. Ob das wirklich bedeutet, dass es weniger davon in Windows geben wird, ist das eine. Offensichtlich soll es nicht mehr direkt in unsere Gesicht gedrückt werden. In Zukunft soll die Copilot-Taste endlich frei belegbar sein. Ein kleiner Gewinn, aber es sind die vielen kleinen Nicklichkeiten, die Windows immer nerviger gemacht haben. Upside-Down-Steve (Hardware Unboxed) hat erneut die AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT gegen die Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti antreten lassen und inzwischen liegen beide Grafikkarten gleich auf. Zu Release war die 9070 XT noch etwa 5-10% hinter der 5070 Ti. Ähnliches ist auch in der aktualisierten Benchmark-Suite von Computerbase zu sehen. Bei einem Preisunterschied von etwa 250 Euro zugunsten der AMD-Karte dürfte die Entscheidung nicht schwer fallen. Viel Spaß mit Folge 308! Bisher nur in China, Taiwan und Hongkong zu haben, sitzt das GRE-Modell zwischen Radeon RX 9070 und Radeon RX 9060 XT. Das ist per se kein Hexenwerk, denn beim Preis (200+ Euro) und der Leistung (+50 Prozent) trennen die verfügbaren Varianten Welten. Aber wie gut erledigt die RX 9070 GRE den Job als Lückenfüller? AMD took the opportunity to outshine Nvidia by doing one simple thing; make a mainstream gaming graphic card without ripping anybody off. That part didn't take much effort, considering how much hate Nvidia received with their Blackwell-based GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs at the beginning of this year.

Meep ist noch nicht richtig zurück vom Urlaub, da verschwindet Mo schon in den Süden und verpasst direkt die Vorstellung des ersten Xbox-Handhelds! Ok, das ROG Xbox Ally ist keine Handheld-Konsole, sondern ein PC, aber eben eine offizielle Kooperation zwischen Microsoft Xbox und Asus. Das Besondere ist auch nicht das Gerät selbst, sondern die Software. Microsoft verspricht echte Handheld-Erfahrung, wie man es von der Nintendo Switch oder einem Steam Deck kennt, aber mit Windows. Direkter Boot in eine spezielle Gaming-Oberfläche, Integration weiterer Launcher wie Steam, Deaktivierung von Desktop und Hintergrunddiensten wie Copilot und Search Index, eine erweiterte Game Bar und weitere Optimierungen. Mo war auf der Bechtle Microsoft World 2025, hat dort interessante Gespräche geführt, Adobe die Meinung gesagt und natürlich viel KI-Gedöns präsentiert bekommen. Aber anscheinend hat sich der Überhype gelegt und sie versuchen sich, auf halbwegs sinnvolle Anwendungen zu konzentrieren. Die AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT ist erschienen, laut Reviews scheint die Version mit 16GB VRAM auch echt ordentlich zu sein, sofern der UVP von 369 Euro auch gehalten werden kann. Obligatorisch: Nicht die Version mit 8GB kaufen! Danke. Am selben Tag ist auch die Nintendo Switch 2 erschienen. Die Emulation ist laut Modern Vintage Gamer ziemlich gut, aber leider verwendet Nintendo wieder die gleichen Potentiometer-Sticks in den Joycon-Controllern wie bei der ersten Switch, weshalb wieder mit Stick-Drift zu rechnen ist. Achja, das Summer Game Fest war auch wieder. Wir haben leider zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme nur Sonys State of Play und Keighleys Show ansehen können und wir haben ein paar interessante Trailer herausgepickt und besprochen. No, Arc isn't EOL - just the flagship card made by Intel. It doesn't bode well, as Battlemage seems pretty far away, and the A770 seems to have run its course with A750 getting all of Intel's marketing attention lately.Beyond that, Intel decided to re-brand their desktop CPUs starting with the next generation Core, and Ultra is added to the mix to keep you on your toes.
