Today, on Karl and Crew, we dove deeper into the life of King David and discussed his unapologetic form of praise: dance. King David was known for his creative abilities in music, writing, and dance, and when others tried to make him self-conscious about it, he was unbothered. We turned to 2 Samuel 6:21-22 with Dr. Ryan Cook to see David’s persistence, intentionality, and boldness with his praise. Dr. Cook is an Old Testament and Hebrew Professor at Moody Theological Seminary (MTS). He is also a key writer for “Today in the Word”, Moody Bible Institute’s free daily devotional, and a contributor to the “Moody Handbook of Messianic Prophecy” and several academic publications. Dr. Cook was also recently appointed as Dean of Faculty at MTS. He also has a book coming out in June called “Talking with God: Daily Readings in the Psalms.” We also talked with Dr. William West about how the Bible and Science go hand in hand. Dr. West is a Harvard and Johns Hopkins-trained oncologist and researcher for advanced cancer care. He founded the West Clinic and has grown it from a single practice into a network of five locations. He has also written “Sacred Science: Understanding Divine Creation”. The parents of a man with severe disabilities said they've lost the ability to plan for his future thanks to changes in the way his care is funded. Their advocate said the situation is cruel and inhumane, but the Ministry of Disabled People, Whaikaha, says it's just an interim arrangement. Ryan Cook's family have for the past few years received an annual budget for his care. But in June, it wasn't renewed and instead they're now receiving funding for six weeks at a time. The family employ four staff to care for Ryan, so the change means they no longer have any long-term certainty that his care can continue, Jimmy Ellingham reports.

It is the beginning of a new year. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). On Tuesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, MBI professor, Dr. Ryan Cook tells us, "This truth is like the keystone of an arch. If it is removed, the whole edifice will crumble. The basic relationship between God and everything else in existence is this: God is the Creator and everything else is created. This means there is a purpose and meaning in our existence. Second, we learn that everything we have comes from God. We should be filled with gratitude. A former high school lacrosse coach, 44, was arrested for allegedly using photo editing software to place the faces of minors on pornographic images of youngsters. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children apparently tipped off the Massachusetts State Police, who began monitoring Ryan Cook's residence and online activity after receiving a report from WCVB-TV. Multiple photographs of alleged child pornography were allegedly discovered in his possession. According to reports, police conducted a search warrant at Cook's residence on August 30 and took electronic devices as evidence. There was a claim that the youngsters depicted in the photos were between the ages of five and eleven. According to state police, as quoted by WCVB: "In some of these photographs, the children were positioned in a sexual suggestive way and/or were being sexually attacked." Photoshopped images of women superimposed over child pornography were also purportedly discovered by investigators. Two girls from his neighborhood were allegedly depicted in the manipulated images, according to WCVB. Allegedly, Cook was detained and accused with having pornographic images of minors on his person. It was reported by Mass Live that he was released after posting bail in the amount of $10,000. However, the prosecution has asked that $100,000 be established as bail for Cook. According to reports, Cook volunteered his time to instruct lacrosse at Wellesley High School for boys. According to a statement obtained by WCVB, the school system acknowledged that "Wellesley Public Schools is aware that a Wellesley resident, who had previously served as a volunteer with our WHS Boy's Lacrosse team, has been charged with possession of child pornography by the Massachusetts State Police." In court, you can expect to see Cook on September 30. If you like TRUE CRIME TODAY - Be sure to search and subscribe wherever you download podcasts!
