Yesterday I tweeted “Try being an accountable person and in your moment of accountability the person tries to flip that on you and build everything centered around you admitting your faults. I think the fuck not”. Accountability is defined as “the fact or condition of being accountable; responsibility”. Naturally, I’m an accountable person yet I’ve encountered some narcissistic people during my journey of life and that have posed as “my friend”. Hence the tweet, that stemmed from a series of tweet exchanges between an ex best friend and I. In a previous episode, “emotional intelligence” I shared the last experience that caused a long term, on again, off again friendship that ended and a WHOLE YEAR later, I’m circling back to this conversation. For a year, I was unable to communicate how I felt to her because she would block me after her response but as the good internet people would say, “I got time today”. Honesty moment, I considered re-recording this podcast because I didn’t want it to seem as a rant but after listening with intent, being impeccable with my words, I still remained my EQ and I’m just here to say you can respectfully let a person know where they had you fucked up at and still practice emotional intelligence at the same damn time. S4 Ep 68 The Power of Intent: “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change” Wayne Dye, author of ‘The Power of Intentions’. The power of intent lies within our intentions and purpose. Who am I? Think about that question, who am I? Are you able to confidently answer that question? Some people find their selves struggling to answer questions like ‘who am I’ and what ‘is my purpose?’ We’ve all been put here for a reason, we all willed our spirit to be present on this earth, we say things like “I didn’t ask to be here” but yet our energy and spirit was birthed into someone to live in this realm, some for only but a moment and some for a lifetime. While many are still searching for the answers of what their purpose is—in this podcast episode, ‘The Power Of Intent” host Ticia The Diva, shares tips on how to set your intentions—but first things first, in order to properly set you intentions—you must set your intentions on yourself. Your intentions must be set for you and what’s going to go be fulfilling to your life and purpose. We set our intentions on other things and people but when setting your intentions on yourself we must become the very person that we want others to be to us. We have to embody and exude that spirit and confidence of being whole and enough to receive the exact things that we set our intentions on. In this episode, I challenge you to listen with intent and follow the guidelines that I shared with you. I share my own personal stories and even use a Ciara analogy, “What did you pray for sis?” Get yourself a journal and use that as your intentions/manifestations journal. Write out those over the top, wild and crazy ideas with the intent of being specific, write out a time and put a date on it, do you want these things in a week or two, a month or even in a few days, when do you want this to happen? Be specific. Visualize yourself in that position, how do you look, how is it going to make you feel, how is having/doing this going to change your life? I talk about a lot of visualization throughout this podcast and the power of intent and visualization goes hand in hand when manifesting intentions. You must show up as that person in your mind and thoughts but it’s imperative that you get it out on paper in order to make it concrete and physical. What are your intentions for this week? What are your intentions for this month? What are you intentions for the remainder of 2020? Let’s set some intentions and get to work on them! Those desires that we have we must act on them—we can’t keep them bottled up within us because we are then denying ourselves of our intentions and our purpose. The act of intent has been embedded deep within you and you have the power to set forth your intentions right now and conjure up anything in this lifetime that you want, now, let’s go em! I was literally not prepared to be single during a quarantine—tragic right—it gets worst, I’m a beautiful 30 year old, living with my grandmother. I know, I know, this was not how I pictured life as a 30 year old either especially during a quarantine. So while we should be practicing social distancing —for some of us, especially for the singles—who were actively dating, it’s been difficult. Meeting someone new right before the quarantine and being denied of some intimate/quality time to get to know an individual can be a little unsettling because who have time to be single during a quarantine—nobody! But what we do have time for is a little #QuarantineAndCreep OK so after you’ve #QuarantineAndCreep or #QuarantineAndChill—you’re probably thinking what’s next? Kobe Bryant, 41 and his daughter Gianna "GiGi" Bryant, 13, in a fatal helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, along with seven other lives that were unfortunately lost. I brought two of my best friends, therapist Shana Simmons and health and wellness trainer Jalisa, to talk about loss and grief as they both have experienced the loss of a family member and positive ways to cope with grief. We share our thoughts on media ethics on the passing of celebrities and raise the question if there is some sort of "media tragedy coach" for celebrities to help deal and prepare for the lost of a loved one.
