With the recent announcement of Stadia (Google's cloud gaming platform) and Apple Arcade (the world's first game subscription service), the NXpress crew decided it would be best if we discuss how these two services could potentially impact Nintendo's business strategy moving forward. Google promises that Stadia's cloud computing power is the equivalent of a console running at 10.7 GPU teraflops, twice the size of the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X combined. With the App Store, Apple ignited a worldwide app phenomenon that has revolutionized how we spend our time on mobile devices and now they promise to take it to the next level. Can Apple and Google deliver on their huge promises and if they do, will enough people care and buy into their service? And if so, will the success of their platforms push Nintendo to release their own unique streaming service? There's a lot to debate but before we get to all the screaming and shouting, Patrick sets aside some time to review the colorful puzzle-platformer She Remembered Caterpillars – while Izsak discusses Astro Bears Party, a four-player party game reminiscent of 3D Snake. All this and more on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast.
There's plenty of news to cover with the Nindies Showcase and Switch rumors, but we got games to get into first! That includes She Remembered Caterpillars, Iron Crypticle, Blast Master Zero 2, and Nuclear Throne.
