The second assassination attempt on President Trump once again highlights the incredible dangers of “chumming for monsters.” As the Irish Republican Army told U.K. Premier Margaret Thatcher after one of their bombs failed to kill the legendary Prime Minister, she had to be lucky every single time; the IRA had to be lucky only once. Join us for a captivating podcast episode as The Casual Anime Podcast dives into the latest season of Demon Slayer. We discuss the merits and drawbacks of Tanjiro going solo in the Swordsmith Arc and compare it to its predecessors. Will Tanjiro be able to not break his new sword for once, or is he destined to make many returns to the swordsmiths? We'd also like to apologize for the dip in audio quality in this episode. Hopefully we can sort it out for our next episode!
We review Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc (S3) (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen). We've swapped Zenitsu and Inosuke for the Mist and Love Hashira. “For the sake of someone other than yourself, you can exert infinite strength.” The third season of the hit anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba recently wrapped up its hotly anticipated third season, adapting the “Swordsmith Village Arc” of Koyoharu Gotouge's manga, and as big fans of the series who have reviewed all the prior arcs, we're here for a deep dive with another amazing season. This set of episodes introduces us to a cast of largely new (or previously briefly seen) characters, including two Hashira with Tokito Muichiro and Mitsuri Kanroji, a mysterious demon slayer named Genya, and two ferocious upper rank demons; it's also where the story fully starts to lay out some of its biggest themes and ideas, before arriving at a pivotal turning point leading to the start of the series' endgame. It's a great season of television, and it produces what is easily our most in-depth, interesting conversation about this series so far. All of Da Bois agree that for some reason the season feels as though it is dragging on and feels as though nothing of consequence has really occurred so far. Muichiro has his origin story revealing a tragic past and brother who died, but how many times can the series use flashbacks before it gets obnoxious instead of touching? Matt also saw Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in theaters. How does it stack up against the first movie? Demon Slayer recently started its dubbed releases of the Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc so naturally we talk about the first couple of episodes while also comparing it to the manga. Christian finally gives his thoughts on his play through of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. And Matt poses the question: Is Xbox in trouble if Starfield fails?
