Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle (Japanese: 劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編, Hepburn: Gekijō-ban Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Jō-hen) is a 2025 Japanese animated dark fantasy action film based on the "Infinity Castle" arc of the 2016–20 manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge. It is a direct sequel to the fourth season of the anime television series as well as the manga fourth, fifth, and sixth adaptations, following the film Mugen Train (2020) and the feature-length compilations To the Swordsmith Village (2023) and To the Hashira Training (2024). It is directed by Haruo Sotozaki, produced by Ufotable, and written by the studio's staff members.Unlike the Swordsmith Village and Hashira Training adaptations, which are compilation films, Infinity Castle is a feature-length multi-film adaptation due to the arc's content and dramatic pacing, similarly to Mugen Train. It is the first film of a trilogy announced in June 2024, immediately following the airing of the fourth season's finale.[4]Officially titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns, it was released in Japan on July 18, 2025, by Aniplex and Toho. It was released by Crunchyroll through Sony Pictures Releasing in select Asian countries in August, before releasing in all other territories the following month. The film broke several box office records and grossed $386 million worldwide. It became the fourth highest-grossing Japanese film worldwide, the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Japan, and the third highest-grossing film in the country's history. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its action sequences, visuals, and engaging story, although some noted pacing issues.After recovering from Kagaya Ubuyashiki's trap and subduing Tamayo, Muzan Kibutsuji retreats into his dimensional stronghold, the Infinity Castle, and traps the Demon Slayer Corps inside.[a] The Demon Slayers are separated and begin battling numerous powerful demons as they search for Muzan. Kagaya's son Kiriya and daughters Kuina and Kanata lead the operation by mapping the Infinity Castle with the Kasugai crows and locating its inhabitants, with former Hashiras Tengen Uzui and Shinjuro Rengoku standing guard.PlotPart 1: Akaza Returns

The latest film in the "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime franchise topped 10 billion yen in box-office revenue in the first eight days of its release, its distributor has said.

Aniplex announced on Monday that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle - Akaza Sairai, the first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy, has sold 9,104,483 tickets for 12,872,176,700 yen (about US$87.10 million) in its first 10 days at the box office. The film set a new record in Japan for the fastest film to earn 10 billion yen, beating the franchise's first film Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-Hen) in 2020, which is also currently the top-grossing film of all time in Japan. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle - Akaza Sairai film's box office revenue exceeded 10 billion yen within eight days of its release.The first Infinity Castle film has also topped Mugen Train for Japan's best-ever opening weekend box office (when four-day openings are compared with three-day openings), best opening-day box office (1,155,637 tickets for 1,646,054,200 yen or US$11.1 million on July 18), and best single-day box office (1,421,804 tickets for 2,037,820,200 yen or US$13.7 million on July 20). Today on Too Opinionated, we chat with actress Abby Trott!  After getting her start in voiceover while living in Japan, Trott has made a name for herself in the anime genre. She is perhaps best known as the English dub voice of the female lead Nezuko Kamado in the wildly popular series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. After her family is murdered by the demon Muzan Kibutsuji and Nezuko is turned into a demon herself, her only surviving brother Tanjiro sets off on a mission to turn his sister back into a human. Throughout the journey, Nezuko's incredible strength and resilience becomes clear as she is able to resist the temptation of human blood and step out into the sunlight. Her special abilities draw the attention of Muzan, who is determined to get Nezuko and acquire her unique power for himself. The series is streaming now on Hulu, Netflix and Crunchyroll. In addition, she reprised her fan-favorite role in the box office hit film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Mugen Train, which is available now on Crunchyroll.  Trott can also be heard as the lead in the popular Netflix series DanDaDan. She voices Momo Ayase, a no-nonsense high schooler who meets Ken Takakura, another student at her school who is obsessed with the occult and aliens. They challenge each others' beliefs, and in the process they encounter both ghosts and aliens, awakening Momo's psychic powers and getting Ken (now nicknamed Okarun) possessed in the process which leads to some ridiculous paranormal encounters. Season 2 is set to premiere in July 2025.
