From Sean @ Kingdom In Context Streamed live on Feb 12, 2023 Warning: Language and crude jokes abound. Not for children or overly sensitive Christians. Owen Benjamin voluntarily submitted himself to a modern form of torture by agreeing to a debate with someone who refused to answer his questions in any coherent way, and... we all got to watch. The Brave Believer will offer clarity for Owen to better grasp the trinitarian argument and focus (on the off chance he watches this), because JimBob truly failed to communicate the most popular trinitarian arguments in any meaningful way, and as always the trinitarian side never defined their terms for God and how they abuse it in their interpretation of Scripture. You could feel Owen's frustration as he asked simple questions and only received philosophical tap-dancing. We'll also offer our own Scriptural refutations to JimBob (on the off chance he watches this). ~~~ Kingdom In Context: Follow Sean Griffin @Twitter, Instagram, Facebook You can support Sean @PayPal& Patreon Get Sean's Contextual Study Guide of Scripture Or the 1 Enoch Contextual Study Guide Get the Kingdom in Context App on iPhone or Android for live alerts, community and much more. ~~~~~~~ From Me: Be Good Broadcast I just rebroadcast those spreading The Word Propagate it. Jan 24, 2020 From Sean @ Kingdom In Context This informal debate covers the nature of the Father and Son as it pertains to a Trinitarian view, and how does the Messiah save us according to His Father's Torah? Our goal at Kingdom In Context is to encourage our audience to look for context in the passages they are told teach specific doctrines, and the Trinity doctrine is a prime example as it is filled with Scripture taken out of context, poorly defined terms, and subjective semantics. I've decided to help the viewer be more aware of when the conversation derailed from Scripture in this video with some visual assistants. We MUST hold our brethren and "teachers" who promote authoritative doctrines, that have caused so much division and confusion in the body of believers, to the objective standard of Scripture in context. Last week Dale Tuggy discussed William Lane Craig's theory about the Trinity for an hour. In one sense this was a momentous occasion when two heavy-hitting philosophers got into the ring to duke it out. In another sense, the limited constraint of one hour barely gave either much time to warm up or process the other's position, much less land any serious blows. Still, it was a worthwhile exchange and it has already received over 5,000 views in its first week on YouTube. In this followup interview, I ask Dr. Tuggy about his impression of the exchange, his further thoughts on Craig's somewhat controversial Trinity theory, and how he would reply if given more time to engage with the "deity of Christ" texts. If you haven't yet listened to the debate, you can get it on YouTube or if you prefer audio, listen to Tuggy's Trinities podcast, episode 349. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj_WLXoL90I —— Links —— Here's the original debate between Dale Tuggy and William Lane Craig on YouTube, on the Trinities podcast Check out these other interviews with Dr. Tuggy More debates here Check out the One God Over All class, which provides you with an introduction to unitarian theology as well as explanations to commonly misunderstood texts. In this episode we tackle the next chunk of Michael Brown’s opening statement in the recent Trinity debate. Jerry Wierwille and I systematically refute Michael Brown’s problematic case for the deity of Christ in his recent debate with Dale Tuggy. Last night Michael Brown (PhD NYU) and Dale Tuggy (PhD Brown U) debated the question, “Is the God of the Bible the Father Alone?” Tuggy affirmed while Brown denied. Both scholars recognize the inspiration and the authority of scripture over tradition. Both made an effort to found their beliefs using the bible, reason, and history. The 2016-2017 Trinity debate over the eternal submission of the Son was covered thoroughly by this blog, other blogs, Christianity Today, podcasts, a panel at ETS, and most certainly in every theological group text in evangelicalism. In an attempt to try and boil the debate down for those who want to read up, reflect, or reference the debate, I created a bibliography on all of the published material I could find based on a list I've been accruing since late 2016. That bibliography was 42 pages. Forty-two. 42. Frankly, many of those sources were unhelpful, repetitive, and/or broken links. So I decided to whittle it down to the bare essentials -- posts that defined the debate or appeared to be shared extensively -- and it became an 11-page bibliography. That'll have to do. Download the bibliography here.* *A reader brought to my attention the monster list over at Books at a Glance. This list has been updated with additions from their list and a few others I originally did not include from my own notes.

Sean Holbrook was attending a typical evangelical church when he heard a series of sermons teaching the Trinity. The recent Trinity Debate has raised an eyebrow (or two) in both the Protestant and Roman Catholic churches. If you're not in the know by now, we'll give you the twenty-minute brief today. There's more at stake than the ontology and economy of the Trinity. This also impacts how we view women as well. The Word's alleged submission to the Father in eternity has been used in this debate to provide justification for the authoritarian headship of men over women ... hmm, something's not right here. There are patriarchal undertones to this debate and Carl, Aimee, & Todd have sniffed them out and express serious concern for how this theology can cause great harm within the Church and within marriages. The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals would like to offer you a free pdf booklet download entitled "How to Be Happy as Family" Discount is applied at checkout.
