AI and Christian Ethics: As AI becomes more integrated into our lives, how do we align this technological progress with our moral compass? We explore the evolving landscape of Christian ethics in the face of AI-driven decisions, from medical ethics to autonomous vehicles. Is there a spiritual dimension to the guidance AI can provide?3. Unveiling Revelation: One of the most intriguing discussions centers around the potential connections between the AI revolution and the prophetic visions of John in the Book of Revelation. When we launched the podcast in 2017, we knew that we eventually wanted to interview Dr. David Bernard, the UPCI General Superintendent. We have both read and referenced many of his writings over the years and his books played an important role in Bryce's journey of faith. When we began to discuss evangelism and discipleship, we knew this was the perfect time to reach out. Thankfully, Bro. Bernard was gracious enough to join us for what turned out to be an incredible episode. We cover a lot of ground in this episode but our main concern is with evangelism and discipleship. We discuss the incredible growth of the church in Austin, TX under Bro. Bernard's leadership, as well as the importance of intentional multicultural outreach.Be sure to pick up a copy of Dr. Bernard's incredible book, "Reaching Austin". In the latest episode of "2 Pentecostals and a Microphone" we have the pleasure of speaking with Rev. Aaron Arrowood about the origins of "El Refugio" (or "The Refuge" in English). This outreach program for kids and youth was founded by Aaron Arrowood and has made a significant impact on the community. During this interview, Bryce and Jaredith talk with Aaron about the challenges he faced when starting the program and the new challenges of a mature outreach program. The current program offers various activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and music. It also provides hot meals, snacks, and transportation for the kids. The hosts discuss with Aaron the importance of building trust with families in the community and how the program has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of the kids and youth. Aaron shares with them some heartwarming stories of how the program has positively impacted the lives of the kids and youth who participate, including helping them with their schoolwork, providing them with positive role models, and giving them a sense of belonging and community. We have seen kids baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost and entire families have come into the church as a result of El Refugio. Overall, this interview provides an inspiring and informative look at the origins of El Refugio and the impact it has had on the lives of the kids and youth in the community. It's a testament to the power of grassroots efforts to make a positive difference in the world. So, tune in to "2 Pentecostals and a Microphone" to listen to this incredible conversation with Aaron Arrowood about "El Refugio" and the life-changing power of loving your neighbor.Subscribe to our podcast on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. This was a difficult episode to record and it will no doubt be difficult to listen to. Especially if you followed the ministry of Ravi Zacharias and held him in high regard, as we did. It was recently revealed through allegations and a subsequent investigation by RZIM and a third-party law firm that Ravi had participated in an ongoing scheme of sexual abuse against multiple women. This news came close on the heels of his death last year from cancer. Please take the time to listen to the entire episode, including the victim's statement that we added at the end, and read both the statement from RZIM and the law firm's report on the investigation. Both of these documents will be linked below. Most importantly, let this begin a discussion in the church on how to prevent these kinds of tragedies in the future. In this episode, we continue a previous discussion of the nature of God, specifically in regard to the doctrines of Oneness and the Trinity. We started this conversation back in 2019 but held off on releasing the rest of the series, due to our desire to give the subject the treatment it deserves. We are finally ready to have the discussion at length. In this episode, which is basically part 2 of the series introduction, we discuss some reasons why this series is necessary, both for our oneness and trinitarian listeners. As this segment of the Doctrine Series continues, we will discuss some of the nuances ofthe debate. We will look at some problematic scriptures, dive into a little textual criticism (can't wait for the backlash from that one...), and specifically talk about Modalism (and why we are not Modalists). In this episode, we attempt to lay a groundwork for our discussion of the nature of God, specifically in regards to the doctrines of Oneness and the Trinity. We wanted to take the time to lay out our intentions because of the sensitive nature of the topic. It's too easy to use words as weapons when dealing with deeply held beliefs. We think that we can do better. As Oneness believers, we want to be taken seriously by Trinitarian believers and we believe that the inverse is true, as well. Too many times I've heard Oneness believers bash or ridicule Trinitarians or Trinitarians write us off as heretics or reject our beliefs out of hand. We believe that the time has come for a civil discussion of the issue and we want to be a part of that discussion. As this segment of the Doctrine Series continues, we will discuss some of the nuances of the debate and specifically talk about Modalism (and why we are not Modalists). **CAVEAT** **We are very critical of some practices of the church and even more critical of some of the unBiblical aspects of church culture. It is not our intention to offend ANY of our listeners, whether Apostolics, other Pentecostals, Baptists, Catholics, etc. What we do want to do is challenge ALL of our listeners to rethink orthodoxy in light of Scripture. We are especially hard on Apostolics but that is only because we love the church we are a part of and want to hold it to the highest standard. We believe there is a Biblical precedent for this. When Jesus stopped pulling his punches it was with his people, whether his theological peers, the Pharisees ("...generation of vipers...") or the disciples ("...are you so stupid that you still don't understand?"). When Peter was siding with the Judaizers, Paul said, "I withstood him to his face." This is what we are trying to do; call the church that we love to a higher standard. We hope that we have done so with love.**In this episode, we take on the concept of "orthodoxy". We address several important questions in a longer-than-usual and somewhat meandering conversation. What is it? What are the problems that orthodoxy presents for a Bible-based church? As unorthodox as Apostolic Pentecostals seem, do we have our own orthodoxy? Is our orthodoxy Biblical or simply man-made dogma? There must be some value in the consensus of the church, which is basically what orthodoxy is, however, any human consensus can be wrong. We discuss the importance of putting any doctrine or dogma, no matter how widely accepted, to the test of Scripture. Since this episode is so long, we debated splitting it into two episodes, but there didn't seem to be a good place to split it. We hope you enjoy the conversation despite the length. The next episode is a special bonus episode where Bryce and Jaredith discuss some exciting news regarding their ministry. Also, over the next several months, the doctrine series will be interspersed with special interviews with Apostolic authors. So far, we have commitments from Bro. Carlton Coon to discuss his new book, Light in a Dark Place and Sis. Lori Wagner to discuss her new book, Through the Waters: The Life and Ministry of Evangelist Willie Johnson. This is the first full episode of our "Doctrine Series", which will make up most of the remainder of Season 2. Over the course of this episode and the next episode (part 2 of the theology discussion), we cover theological subtopics ranging from Systematic Theology and the Theological Method to Practical and Historical Theology. This is the study of God. The "Science of God" if you will. Can we cover this topic in two podcast episodes? Absolutely not. Are we gonna give it the old college try? You bet!Our Doctrine Series will continue next week with part 2 of this discussion of theology. You can find us on your favorite podcast app or on our website, 2pentecostals.com.
