You're invited to the perfect weekend with the perfect family. On episode 176 of Dead Air we're discussing the 2011 slasher film You're Next! A rare family get together of the affluent Davisons should be cause for celebration. Especially considering its the 35th wedding anniversary for the heads of the household. However, old wounds still fester and we soon learn their is quite a bit of dysfunction during this family function. Before the first course is even finished however, death comes via a crossbow bolt. The family is under siege by three strangers in animal masks that are hell bent on killing every single one of them. Little do they know that the deadliest person at this event isn't wearing a mask.

Y so serious? You should be yukking it up with us! Join Dylan, Eric, and special guest Erica from Para-Nerds Podcast as we discuss Yoga Hosers, You're Next, and You've Got Mail! For those not in the know, Para-Nerds is Erica and Jessie, paranormal researchers who do incredible deep dives on any and all spooooky topics from UFO's to the Jersey Devil, with spontaneous human combustion and sex with ghosts in between! Amazing, hilarious show, that we cannot recommend enough! Check them out at https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/para-nerds/id1538373752 Or: https://open.spotify.com/show/1X886BAHB0oXXcaANXSBhn?si=Z6d_d_cOSG6qOkvPp2dC5g&dl_branch=1 Now, about that ep…. We discuss Kevin Smith's 2ndfilm in the proposed “True North” trilogy, Yoga Hosers…..which leads to lots of scatological and butt talk, soori aboot that. We infer that because Erica was a fan of Tusk, she is probably directly responsible for bringing Yoga Hosers into existence, which could be the reason she loves it so much! We did enjoy it too, and think it's “wunderbar”. Next is You're Next, the horror thriller invasion film that invaded our hearts with its awesomeness and inventive kills. In true File Under: Entertainment fashion, this is the segment that goes completely off rails with tangents aplenty. We finally give Erica a chance to promote Para-Nerds, like 45 minutes into the episode…again, no one can confuse us with professionals. Soori aboot that as well. Lastly, check that ‘in-box' because…You've Got Crabs, Assface! Errrm, soori aboot that thrice. Turns out it's actually, You've Got Mail. We yearn for the AOL dial up noise, get all nostalgic for physical bookstores and physical media, and wax intellectual on the philosophies of the film and how there has been such a cultural shift in the scant 23 years since its release. That Tom Hanks, he's funny in anything. Naturally more tangents along the way, including several more catch phrases, (i.e. t-shirts that need to be designed), and more laughs than you can shake a Bratzi at. Now yeet this description off into space and get to stuffin' your ear holes with buds, so you can hang out WITH your buds Dylan, Eric, and new friend Erica, on this yummy yogurt covered raisin of an episode! Yowzers!
Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon takes a trip down memory lane re-watching Jurassic Park (for rent), she talks about how the film is still amazing and the effects are only now starting to become noticeable. She also went to the theater to see The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do it (theaters/HBO MAX), which she enjoyed watching but admits isn't a great film. Berto on the Bed: Berto also watched the latest Conjuring film, which he said was very forgettable, but had some things he enjoyed. He also went to the theater to see A Quiet Place II (Theatres) which he thought was good, but not enjoyable because of the logical leaps he realized he had to take to stick with the plot. Finally, Berto watched a silly film called Killer Sofa (Amazon Prime) which is a campy film about… well, a killer sofa, which he found a bit enjoyable. Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive is the 2011 slasher thriller You're Next, currently streaming on Hulu.
