On July 26, 2016, then 27-year-old Tucker Reed shot and killed her uncle Shane Moore during a family dispute over land allocation and money. Moore was responsible for caring for his father, and was promised the land and house, but his sister, Tucker's mother, took issue with this, as she had debts, and was using the family for money. This hatred and jealousy of her brother clearly made its way to Tucker, who fatally shot him after the two went over to sabotage Moore's appointment with a Notary Public. How about a Halloween gift? More quality fare to watch this spooky season? I'm making my Finding Hermes presentation public. Get ready to delve into various forms of Gnostic horror films, from mind parasite fare to cosmic horror to simulated reality flicks. The list is varied and includes some classics that might surprise you. I also argue that both sci-fi and horror originated in Gnostic thought, and that one of history's worst filmmakers tapped into deep Gnosis for his “art.” The presentation will further crystallize Gnosticism and its subtleties. We've reached the penultimate episode of this year's spooky season franchise run. Earlier this year, the Final Destination franchise returned after a decade and a half hiatus with FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES. The sixth installment expands upon the universe of the franchise in ways that add both thematic and narrative weight. It features strong characterizations, clever, inventive sequencing, and -- of course -- a lot of surprising and elaborate deaths. It also features the final on screen performance of the legendary horror icon Tony Todd, who passed away before the film was released and whose final lines in the film serve as a coda for both his career and the franchise as a whole.Unpacking all of that and more with us is a host of fun guests, including Vera Goudie, Matt Ruff, Penny Rouse, Matt Murray, Steve Beckley, and Jocee Worley. It's not only a thoughtful and occasionally heartfelt conversation about the preciousness of life, it's also a laughter-filled joy machine of a discussion party. We truly find the hope in the horrific this week and we hope you all enjoy it!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Boy meets car. Boy loves car. Car loves boy. Car turns homicidal. Yes, 1983's horror movie, "Christine" asked audiences to buckle up and suspend disbelief. Audiences and critics were mixed back then, but the film went on to become a cult classic. But now, over four decades later, does this flick violate more than the Lemon Law? Can a 1958 Plymouth be scary? Can evil cure vision challenges? And why are Arnie (Keith Gordon) and Dennis (John Stockwell) even friends to begin with? The Old Roommates fill 'er up and give this Stephen King's adaptation a revisit through their middle-aged lens. Embrace the new car scent and join them.Old Roommates can be reached via email at oldroommatespod@gmail.com. We're kicking Halloween week off with a special interview we hosted with author Nick Medina about his latest book, THE WHISTLER. Nick writes horror, crime, and mystery fiction that sits at the intersection of social issues alongside Native American folklore. The Whistler, his third novel, centers around Henry, a man who suffers immense tragedy following his careless dismissal of an ancient traditional warning: never whistle at night. As Henry copes with the changes to his life and physical condition, he is haunted by a malevolent presence. As he is forced to wrestle with his past choices, he must come to terms with what has truly happened and what is truly haunting him.We sat down with Nick to discuss his very scary, very thoughtful, and disarmingly moving novel that tugs at the heart strings as often as it chills the spine. It's available wherever books are sold and is a perfect choice for spooky season. We hope you enjoy this special bonus interview!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
It's been 4 years since Finney took on the Grabber with help from the dead via phone calls, and now we're back with a new setting, a new set of murders, and tons of dream sequences! Tune in to hear us break down “Black Phone 2” — from the way it shifted the focus to Finney's sister, to how it created its own set of rules for the dream world, and whether the more emotional scenes worked well or felt over-the-top.
It's a spooky good time on this week's 3 Geeks Podcast!
The networks and newspapers hyperventilating over President Trump as a "one-man wrecking ball" who okayed demolition of the East Wing of the White House to build a new ballroom is the silliest Trump scandal imaginable. He's a "mob boss" who may "never leave" office, and his architectural plans betray "a darker history in fascist and totalitarian politics."
