Hold on to your ba-ZOOM-bas, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Part 5 of The Collectors, a limited series in which The Horror Avengers reveal their deepest, darkest secret love affairs with their various collections — especially their personal movie collections! In this fifth installment, Count Mackula interviews The Southern Gentleman, GregaMortis — the Head “Creepture” of Land of the Creeps. In an intimate and wide-ranging interview, Mackula chats with GregaMortis to journey through the decades of his collecting passion, starting with his childhood days of toyline preferences and fondly remembered visits to the legendary Kmart in Elkins, West Virginia. Greg shares stories of his earliest collecting obsessions, providing a glimpse into the roots of a lifelong pursuit that would be both challenged and reborn. Listeners will hear the dramatic and heartfelt account of Greg's personal “Burning” — a pivotal event in the mid-1990s when, under pressure from his former religious community, he was compelled to destroy much of his cherished media collection. But like any great collector with a resilient spirit, GregaMortis rose from those ashes, beginning around 2001, to rebuild a vault of cinema and memorabilia that now spans VHS tapes, laser discs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and modern 4Ks! Victory! GregaMortis has been keeping Horror alive ever since! You also get to hear about Greg's enthusiasm for collecting vintage TV Guides from the 1970s and '80s. He explains his philosophy on upgrading films across evolving formats — and what he gains (or loses) in the process. And of course, no collection is without its tragedies. Greg recounts “The Great Fall” — the unfortunate toppling of his homemade movie shelves. Episode 151 offers more than just a peek into a movie-lover's media treasures; it's a tribute to the emotional ties we form with the things we love, the resilience it takes to reclaim joy, and the communal bond that collectors like Greg and Mack share across generations with listeners like you! Don't miss this badass edition of “The Collectors Series” with the unforgettable GregaMortis! Listen, you'll love it! Also, in case you missed them, here are the first three installments of this series: Ep. 088: The Collectors – Part 1 and Ep. 094: The Collectors – Part 2 and Ep. 098: The Collectors – Part 3 and Ep. 102: The Collectors – Part 4. We've reached the last of the feature films for our profile of the late David Lynch with one of his earliest works. THE ELEPHANT MAN released in 1980 and followed the wildly experimental and esoteric Eraserhead with a deeply emotional story of humanity and compassion. It focuses on John Merrick (John Hurt), who suffers from severe physical deformities and spends his days as a carnival attraction for a spiteful and abusive owner. When he encounters Dr. Treves (Anthony Hopkins), he is taken into one of the most prestigious hospitals in the country and encounters kindness, generosity, and even friendship for the first time. Under the care of Dr Treves -- and against the continued ridicule and abuse of his bullying enemies -- Merrick exhibits a unique capacity for gentle wisdom, creativity, and thoughtful dignity. The Elephant Man is a gorgeously realized film, as inspirational as it is sorrowful. We're joined by friends of the show Michael and Jori Felker to discuss the film's textured portrait of humanity and grace. It is a film overflowing with resonance and heart: one which challenges our perceptions of ourselves and our neighbors in powerful ways. We hope you enjoy this heartfelt conversation about it!5:35 - Two Questions with new friend Jori Felker18:25 - THE ELEPHANT MANSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We've had the privilege of speaking with a number of unique voices during our series on the work of David Lynch. Today we have a special conversation with Dr Lindsay Hallam, an educator of film studies and prolific contributor to the broader discussion of horror cinema, about her book about TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME for the publication imprint Devil's Advocates. In Lindsay's book, she breaks down the numerous levels on which Lynch's once divisive film operates: as a Twin Peaks film, as a trauma film, as a David Lynch film, and -- primarily -- as a horror film. We have the chance to sit down with Dr Hallam and only barely scratch the surface of this fascinating and often deeply misunderstood film.If you're curious to read the book, you can find a copy here, or at your online retailer of choice. We hope you enjoy this special bonus conversation! See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We have another special interview for you today for a feature film that's in theaters exclusively as of 7/11/25.ABRAHAM'S BOYS: A DRACULA STORY tells a tale of the aftermath of the ordeal from Bram Stoker's classic horror tale. It focuses on survivors Abraham Van Helsing (Titus Welliver) and Mina Harker (Jocelin Donahue) as they struggle to move on from the fearful torment they barely survived. The story is mostly seen through the eyes of their two sons, Max and Rudy (Brady Hepner and Judah Mackey) as they begin to question what it was that once plagued their parents and whether or not it is truly gone.Reed sits down with the writer and director of Abraham's Boys, Natasha Kermani, to discuss the perspective of adapting Joe Hill's short story and the ways in which we must all come to terms with the monsters that won't let us go. We hope you'll check out the film in theaters and we hope you enjoy this special interview!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Join us as we slash up and bleed out “Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (1994), perhaps one of the whackiest ‘horror' films to come out of the nineties, of course there's no wonder its lead actors didn't want much to do with it for such a long time -- but we get why they've managed to come around to it now.We have taken it upon ourselves to discuss the director's cut, just SO WE'RE CLEAR (iykyk), so go rev up your chainsaws, grab your lipstick, and pick out your best nighty, because we're... goin' to Texas... y'all...?- TGGSupport the showInstagram @thegorygays / YouTube @thegorygays / Threads @thegorygays / Patreon.com/thegorygays / www.thegorygays.com

Send us a textFew faces are as hauntingly iconic in the world of horror as that of Pinhead, the demonic leader of the Cenobites in Clive Barker's Hellraiser universe. And while Doug Bradley originally brought the role to life, it was Paul T. Taylor who dared to don the pins in 2018's Hellraiser: Judgment, ushering the legendary villain into a new chapter for a new generation of horror fans. His performance captured the cold intellect, sadistic elegance, and terrifying calm that fans had come to love—earning him a place in the horror pantheon. But Taylor's talents extend far beyond the hellish dimension of the Hellraiser universe. With roles in films like Sin City, Super, and various television and stage productions, Taylor is a versatile performer who has spent decades sharpening his craft across genres. Still, it's his role as Pinhead that connected him deeply to the horror culture community—a passionate, loyal audience that celebrates practical effects, psychological depth, and the actors who bring monsters to life.Embraced by the Horror CommunityWithin the horror scene, Taylor is more than an actor—he's become a fan-favorite guest at conventions, signings, and horror-themed events around the country. He embraces the community with the same authenticity that fans bring to him, never shying away from the impact his portrayal of Pinhead has had. Whether it's discussing the philosophy of horror, the craftsmanship of effects work, or just sharing behind-the-scenes stories, Taylor brings heart and humility to a genre that's often misunderstood by outsiders. He's set to make an appearance at one of Missouri's biggest pop culture events, the ToyMan Show in St. Charles, MO, on Sunday, July 13, 2025. This massive gathering of collectors, fans, cosplayers, and creators will give attendees a chance to meet Paul T. Taylor in person—snap photos, get autographs, and dive into the dark lore of Hellraiser and beyond. He'll join other celebrity guests at this two-level celebration of all things toys, comics, horror, and nostalgia. The Barn Appearance: A Conversation with Tippy JoAhead of the ToyMan Show, Taylor sat down with Chad Winch and Brett Wiley of The Tippy Jo Show on The Barn Podcast Network for an exclusive and wide-ranging conversation. The episode dives deep into Taylor's time preparing for the role of Pinhead, his experiences on set, and his thoughts on how the horror genre has evolved over time. With genuine humor and insight, Taylor opens up about what it's like to become part of such a beloved (and feared) franchise—and what the future holds for him both inside and outside the horror realm.Whether you know him as Pinhead, a performer from Sin City, or simply as a devotewww.BetterHelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and brought to you as always by The Barn Media Group. We're nearing the end of our series in a couple of weeks about the filmography of the late David Lynch. We turn this week to his final feature film, a wildly experimental and divisive film called INLAND EMPIRE. An exercise in cinematic experimentation to its core, Inland Empire is one of Lynch's most difficult films to figure out. It has a stream of conscience, non-linear narrative structure that often sees the same performers playing multiple roles without clear transitions from one scene to the next. Although clearly exploring some fascinating ideas, it is a film that tests the patience of even the most avid Lynch enthusiast. We gather this week with friends of the show Jackson Harper and Dave Courtney to try to get to the bottom of what the film is attempting and finding some remarkably profound and even moving discoveries along the way. Whether or not you enjoyed David Lynch's Inland Empire, we really hope you enjoy our honest and thoughtful conversation about it.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie did the unheard of in the 70s. They both nabbed Oscar noms for a horror movie. Yes, Brian DePalma's "Carrie" was, much like Carrie White's house, a groundbreaker. Featuring telekinesis, the supernatural, religious fanaticism, and (oh yeah) an ever-flowing bucket of pig blood, "Carrie" seemed an unlikely slam dunk, but it scored big with both audiences and critics. Now, decades and remakes later, did Carrie White maybe overreact a smidge? Why did Betty Buckley get the worst of it? And how much 1970s pubic hair belongs in a film's opening credits?
