Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report from coach Mike Tomlin's news conference at the team's South Side facility ahead of an NFL Week 11 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium. Could Isaac Seumalo return to the lineup this week amid his injury? Will OC Arthur Smith focus on Jaylen Warren, Kenneth Gainwell and the running game more amid struggles in the passing game? Has Roman Wilson earned more opportunity with DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin struggling to make magic with QB Aaron Rodgers? When will tight ends like Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith get more involved in the offense? And how is Tomlin assessing his re-made safety group of Kyle Dugger and Jalen Ramsey? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Host Adam Bittner and Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise react LIVE to the Steelers' NFL Week 10 Sunday Night Football matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. This show is presented by FanDuel. Which QB in the matchup was better? Aaron Rodgers or Justin Herbert? Were Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr., Darius Slay Jr. and Kyle Dugger able to slow talented Chargers receivers Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston? How did Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, Nick Herbig, Payton Wilson, Keeanu Benton and Derrick Harmon deal with the potent Chargers running game? And were Steelers pass catchers DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington and Jonnu Smith able to find space? Our duo tackles those questions, as well as the performance of coaches including Mike Tomlin, OC Arthur Smith and DC Teryl Austin. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo recap the team's NFL Week 10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. This show is presented by FanDuel. What went wrong for QB Aaron Rodgers? Why wasn't he able to find a rhythm with receiver DK Metcalf? Or other pass catches including Roman Wilson, Calvin Austin III, Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington or Jonnu Smith for that matter? How encouraged should we be by Jaylen Warren's performance on the ground? Why couldn't T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Cam Heyward, Nick Herbig and the defense generate any turnovers against Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey, Kimani Vidal and the loaded Chargers offense? And how did Jalen Ramsey look in his second game at safety alongside DBs such as Darius Slay, Joey Porter Jr. and Kyle Dugger? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Ray thinks Jalen Ramsey playing safety for the rest of his career is something that Ramsey needs to think of. Joe thinks Ramsey could be the next Rod Woodson. Kyle Dugger played nearly every snap for the Steelers against the Colts. The Steelers wanted to make a trade, but they didn't want to give up high draft picks for a wide receiver. Ray is picking the Chargers.

On the Thursday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise to analyze reports that free agent CB Asante Samuel Jr. will visit the Steelers next week. Would GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin securing a deal with the veteran make up for their quiet NFL trade deadline? Or would it still be reasonable for fans to want to see more new faces beyond Kyle Dugger and Marquez Valdes-Scantling? What are the chances Sameul ever arrives here considering broad interest in him from teams around the league? If the Steelers miss out, will they regret not adding a CB next to Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay Jr.? And what should we make of reports saying Khan was close to completing a deal for Jakobi Meyers or another WR to pair with DK Metcalf as a weapon for Aaron Rodgers? Our duo tackles those questions and takes stock of the Steelers' place in the AFC pecking order. Were the wins against the Colts and Patriots flukes because of the many turnovers generated in those games? And what will it say about this team if it can win in NFL Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo give their practice report ahead of an NFL Week 10 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. This show is presented by FanDuel. How much credit do coach Mike Tomlin and DC Teryl Austin deserve for adjusting to a simplified defenses for the win against the Colts? With safeties Jabrill Peppers, DeShon Elliott and Chuck Clark out injured? Did it help Kyle Dugger's integration into the defense? And could similar adjustments help T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward, Jalen Ramsey, Payton Wilson and Alex Highsmith this week as they face a tough challenge from Justin Herbert, Quentin Johnston, Ladd McConkey and the potent Chargers passing attack? Our duo tackles those questions; emphasizes the need to slow the Chargers' running game; and checks in on Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Jaylen Warren and the offense as they look to extend drives. Alan Saunders and Zachary Smith discuss all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode, we discuss the latest on the injury front with both Alex Highsmith and Darnell Washington returning to practice. We also discuss what Teryl Austin had to say about Kyle Dugger jumping on the train and Artie Smith had to say in regard to Roman Wilson's fumble. We then discuss where exactly this team should sit in the pecking order of the AFC and if we believe they have their offensive line of the future. Let's go for another Steelers Afternoon Drive and discuss all this! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
-There are former Steelers asking why the team didn't make any moves at the trade deadline to better the team. One believes if the defense needed help, Mike Tomlin would have made sure an acquisition took place. If the Steelers added somebody like Jakobi Meyers, where would that put them in the AFC? Do we still think it was a mistake that they didn't do anything ahead of the deadline, outside of the Kyle Dugger move from over a week ago? The guys questioned whether or not the Steelers thinking about the draft was a smart move. How much say did Mike have in comparison to the owner and GM? – Pitt QB Mason Heintschel joined the show. Mason said his favorite football jersey is his Patrick Mahomes one from around 2018. He was a 3-sport athlete in high school, so the guys asked him about his HS exploits. Mason told the guys why he is a Tennessee Titans fan. He joked that the Titans upset playoff win over the Ravens a few years back was ‘one of the best days of his life.' Mason said baseball was a little bit too slow of a sport for him to get into. What was Mason's motivation getting into college football? Mason said scoring on the first drive in his first start really raised his confidence level. Mason watches a lot of Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert film. He added Drew Brees to that list. He talked about the role his parents have played in where he's at. Mason talked about the confidence instilled in him, but the fine line you have to walk. He said he's not much of a trash talker on the field, but Pitt has no shortage of that. The guys asked Mason about his chat with Jon Gruden that was published earlier in the week – saying Gruden may be at the Pitt-Notre Dame game next weekend. Mason said he is using the bye week to get a little bit ahead of Notre Dame even with the Panthers winning 5 straight games. Mason talked about the trip to Florida State, playing in front of a hostile crowd, and coming out of it with a win. Mason credited some high school classes for why he has no issue public speaking or doing a full-length interview. Did Mason have any relationship with Bruce Gradkowski, who was a Toledo football legend? – Former Pitt QB Pat Bostick joined the show. Pat talked to the guys about Mason Heintschel and how special of a young man he is. The guys talked about what has transpired at QB with Pitt in the last 12 months. Pat described Mason as a ‘football junkie' and said he was watching film when he was the third QB on the depth chart. What kind of pitch does Pitt have to put forth to make sure Mason is back next season in the NIL/transfer portal era of college football? What led to such love for Notre Dame and the Catholic contingent that roots on the Fighting Irish? The guys said Marcus Freeman is easier to like than just about any coach in ND history. Can Pitt stand up to the Irish next Saturday? What kind of resume is Pitt giving to the College Football Playoff committee?

Do we still think it was a mistake that they didn't do anything ahead of the deadline, outside of the Kyle Dugger move from over a week ago? The guys questioned whether or not the Steelers thinking about the draft was a smart move. How much say did Mike have in comparison to the owner and GM?
Its out first full show for the first time in a while and its good timing since the Patriots did absolutely nothing at the trade deadline. Why not making any moves should be considered a blown opportunity for the 2025 Pats? Then, the team may be ahead of schedule and riding the year with house money may be an optimistic view, but the Pats still have tons of money and draft picks they could've used to add. And, without any additions and more subtractions with the departures of Keion White and Kyle Dugger, the razor thin margin with their depth just got extra razor thin.
On the Wednesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Christopher Carter to react to the team's lack of moves at the NFL trade deadline. How good is GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin's roster as constituted? Can it win a playoff game? Beat top teams like Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs? Josh Allen and the Bills? Lamar Jackson and the Ravens? Should Khan have been more aggressive in adding a wide receiver for Aaron Rodgers to supplement DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Jonnu Smith, Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth? Or was the price for a guy like Jakobi Meyers too high for a team in the Steelers' position? And would it have been nice to add a DB to help Jalen Ramsey, Darius Slay Jr., Kyle Dugger and Joey Porter Jr. amid the secondary's intermittent struggles? Our duo tackles those questions, plus NFL draft options now that we know the team could have up to a dozen picks this coming spring. Should they try to build a deeper roster around names like Ohio Stat3e stars Carnell Tate or Caleb Downs? Or should they sell out to grab a QB like Alabama's Ty Simpson, Oregon's Dante Moore or Indiana's Fernando Mendoza? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Live around 5 p.m., Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise analyzes the Steelers' defense ahead of its NFL Week 10 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. Have coach Mike Tomlin and DC Teryl Austin made enough adjustments for the defense to perform better against a potent passing attack led by Justin Herbert and Ladd McConkey than it did against Joe Flacco, Ja'Marr Chase and the Bengals? Or Jordan Love, Tucker Kraft and the Packers? Will Jalen Ramsey's move to safety continue to pay off? How much pressure can he and new acquisition Kyle Dugger take off corners like Darius Slay Jr. and Joey Porter Jr.? And will the rush continue to get home with names like T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Payton Wilson, Nick Herbig and others? Paul tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Mark doesn't anticipate Elliott coming back. Jalen Ramsey is going to be the starting safety. Joe thought Kyle Dugger wasn't noticeable for the Steelers against Indianapolis, but a good thing.
Hour 2 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: Did the Steelers make the right decision not trading for a No. 2 wide receiver? Mark believes we need to think about what receiver could fit into the offense. Mark said the Steelers called, but it was too expensive for some receivers who were not moved! Mark doesn't anticipate Elliott coming back. Jalen Ramsey is going to be the starting safety. Joe thought Kyle Dugger wasn't noticeable for the Steelers against Indianapolis, but a good thing.
Live around 5 p.m., Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise gives his thoughts on the Steelers' moves -- or lack thereof -- at the NFL trade deadline. Did GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin properly balance the team's present with its future? Especially with numerous extra NFL draft picks in hand with the event coming to Pittsburgh? Did they secure enough help for the struggling secondary around names like Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr., Kyle Dugger, Darius Slay Jr. and Brandin Echols? Does Aaron Rodgers now have enough pass-catching help alongside names like DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Darnell Washington, Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth? And how much can the acquisition of Marquez Valdes-Scantling bolster the group? Paul tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. On the Tuesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel, host Noah Hiles welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo to analyze the defensive front seven's impact on the Week 9 victory against the Indianapolis Colts. Why were T.J. Watt and Payton Wilson Ray's two most impactful players? Has Wilson arrived as a do-everything linebacker within coach Mike Tomlin's defense? Did his stellar outing help T.J. Watt be more disruptive? And to what degree can Watt and Cam Heyward be unlocked when names like Derrick Harmon, Joey Porter Jr., Alex Highsmith, Keeanu Benton and others are performing at a high level as well? Our duo tackles those questions, then talks about the secondary. Was the success in zone against the Colts repeatable? Or will opponents force the Steelers to prove they can stop them in man coverage? Will Jalen Ramsey stay at safety amid DeShon Elliott's injury? What would that mean for corners like Darius Slay Jr. and Brandin Echols? And other safeties including Kyle Dugger, Juan Thornhill and Jabrill Peppers? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. NFL Trade Deadline day is here. The Steelers haven't made a move. A few WRs are off the board and one team is doing a total fire sale. What if they come away with nothing? The only new guys are Kyle Dugger and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, one of which was just a practice squad signing. Is Jaylen Waddle a realistic option?
Poni said he is upset at Omar Khan for doing nothing at the trade deadline. They made a move for Kyle Dugger last week, but no moves made today and nothing to improve the offense, other than Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the practice squad. Did Omar fail his test today? Do the Steelers overvalue the TE and RB usage in the pass game?

November 3, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 45 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into our overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 9 Sunday home win against the Indianapolis Colts. In our weekly housekeeping portion of this Monday show, which is sponsored by the fine folks at TouringPlans.com, Alex and I talk about the Sunday inactive list, the few injuries sustained by the Steelers in their 27-20 win against the Colts, and the several transactions the team has made since our Friday show. The Steelers defense played extremely well on Sunday against the Colts as they rebounded following the unit's poor Week 8 showing against the Green Bay Packers. Because of that stellar performance by that unit against the Colts, Alex and I start on that side of the football. Alex and I go over the schematic and personnel changes the Steelers made on defense on Sunday against the Colts that resulted in the unit registering numerous takeaways and five sacks of Colts QB Daniel Jones. We discuss the several big plays made by the defense on Sunday and go over some key stats when it comes to the scheme used. While the Steelers defense was far from perfect on Sunday, the good clearly made a difference in the game. Will the Steelers continue to use Jalen Ramsey and Kyle Dugger as their two starting safeties? We discuss that possibility and go over several snap counts on that side of the football. After thoroughly breaking down the play of the Steelers' defense on Sunday, Alex and I then discuss the good, bad, and ugly from the offense against the Colts. That unit was able to produce 24 points off of turnovers and even without registering any explosive plays of 20 yards or longer. We talk about how the offense was clunky overall on Sunday but managed to produce three touchdowns just the same. WR Roman Wilson fumbled away the football late in Sunday's game, so we discuss that play. We also discuss some key metrics related to the play of Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers against the Colts. We make sure to highlight the play of TE Darnell Washington, WR Calvin Austin III , and RB Kenneth Gainwell during this show. The Steelers special team units performed well on Sunday, so Alex and I discuss the contributions in that phase of the game. We also break down the brilliant decision that special teams coordinator Danny Smith made in the second half as part of a kickoff. Ramsey held court with the team on Saturday night, according to Rodgers, so we discuss that little tidbit later in this show. With the annual NFL trade deadline now upon us, Alex and I look at the possibility and probability related to the Steelers trading for a wide receiver. Could Washington Commanders WR Deebo Samuel be an underrated trade option for the Steelers? What other positions might the Steelers consider trading for other than wide receiver? We attempt to answer those questions later in this show. Did the Steelers win convincing enough on Sunday? Alex and I discuss that flawed question and narrative making the rounds on Monday morning. This 103-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted and we wrap things up by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Live around 5 p.m., Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise ponders the Steelers' options ahead of the NFL trade deadline Tuesday. This show is presented by FanDuel. Should GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin be aggressive in making moves after their team took down one of the NFL's best in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts? Should they look to give QB Aaron Rodgers another weapon alongside DK Metcalf, Roman Wilson, Calvin Austin III, Pat Freiermuth, Jonnu Smith or Darnell Washington? Or would another pass catcher not receive enough targets in OC Arthur Smith's offense to be worthwhile? And does this defense still need another DB next to Jalen Ramsey, Kyle Dugger, Darius Slay Jr. and Joey Porter Jr.? Or did the win against the Colts ease concern about the secondary? Paul tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
On the Monday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Ray Fittipaldo react to the NFL Week 9 victory against the Indianapolis Colts. Can T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Jalen Ramsey and coach Mike Tomlin's defense repeat their dominance of Daniel Jones, Jonathan Taylor, Tyler Warren at the potent Colts offense? Or will they backslide like they have at times earlier this season? Why was stopping the run with names like Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson they key to getting pressure on Jones and forcing him into turnovers generated by the likes of Jack Sawyer and Joey Porter Jr.? And what impact did new acquisition Kyle Dugger have on the game? Our duo tackles those questions, then ponders how Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Jaylen Warren, Pat Freiermuth, Cavlin Austin III, Darnell Washington and OC Arthur Smith's offense can improve after they scored enough points to win but miss capitalizing on some opportunities. Alan Saunders and Zachary Smith discuss all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode, we discuss the team's victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Is the safety duo of Kyle Dugger & Jalen Ramsey here to stay? Did this game change your mind on how to feel about the team moving forward? Where did things go wrong for the offense to only put up 27 points despite 6 turnovers? What was and wasn't sustainable about what we saw? Let's go for another Steelers Afternoon Drive and discuss all this! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Poni says that he's impressed by the way that Aaron Rodgers will criticize himself and the offense, even after wins. The Steelers spread out the offense more than they usually do yesterday, and Calvin Austin took advantage. Aaron Rodgers was likely unhappy with Roman Wilson's fumble in the fourth quarter. Mullsy was not a fan of the offense's performance yesterday, as they averaged under 4 yards per play. Callers voice their opinions on the game yesterday. PIT-IND Game Balls – Payton Wilson, Alex Highsmith, Kyle Dugger.

On the Saturday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Brian Batko rank the team's defensive backs by confidence level. Does Jalen Ramsey still belong on top within coach Mike Tomlin's defense despite some issues in recent weeks? Is Joey Porter Jr. still the obvious No. 2? Should Brandin Echols rank ahead of Darius Slay Jr.? Even as the latter makes big money? And how should we sort through safety options like Juan Thornhill, Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger amid DeShon Elliott's injury?
