Wrapping up his 33rd season as Fullerton College's skipper, Nick Fuscardo has devoted his heart and vast experience to Fullerton College as a coach and educator. In 2013, Fuscardo led the Hornets to an Orange Empire Conference title (32-15 overall, 15-6 OEC) and to the final four CCCAA State Tournament where Fullerton was the state runner-up. In 2015, the Hornets made it to the postseason and swept Cypress College in the first round. In the Super Regionals, Fuscardo's Hornets fell to Santa Barbara City College in a hard-fought series. The 2016 season saw the Hornets making it all the way to the Super Regionals after sweeping the #2 seed Glendale College Vaqueros. FC ended up falling to Cypress College in the Super Regionals in a close two games to one series. Fuscardo locked down his 500th win on a 3-2 come-from-behind 11 inning victory against Allan Hancock College on February 25, 2011. On February 2, 2016, Fuscardo won his 600th game as the Hornet Skipper on opening day at San Diego Mesa College 10-4. Coach Fuscardo also holds the Hornet record for most career wins with 665. It was an 8-3 win on March 18, 2010 against Irvine Valley College that gave Fuscardo his 488th win surpassing the previous mark set by FC Hall of Fame coach Mike Sgobba (487 wins). Fuscardo has led the Hornets to 25 wins or more in seven seasons, including 1988 (30 wins) and 2013 (32 wins - school record). He also has 16 seasons with 20 or more wins with the Hornets. Fuscardo has coached more than 70 players who have been drafted or have signed professional contracts, including New York Mets standout pitcher Steve Trachsel, San Diego Padre catcher Tom Wilson, Mitch Levier to the Oakland A's, and Jose Rojas of the Angles. Other recent draftees include outfielders Shane Carrier (Twins) and Austin O'Banion (Rangers) off the 2016 Hornets. Fuscardo is also proud of two other 2016 grads in Laine Huffman (shortstop for Long Beach State) and Justin Row (2nd Base for the University of South Carolina). More than 200 of Fuscardo's players have gone on to play baseball at the four-year level. Before coming to Fullerton, Fuscardo was the head coach for 13 seasons at nearby Troy High, where he led the Warriors to a 205-68 record, five Freeway League championships and 11 playoff appearances. Fuscardo was offered an assistant position at Cal State Fullerton under Titans Coach Augie Garrido in 1981, but instead, accepted a position as an assistant under Sgobba in 1982. Four years later, he was named the ninth coach in Fullerton's history. Fuscardo has been on the other side of the lines in community college baseball as well. He was the starting second baseman at El Camino College in 1962 and 1964, when he was an All-Metro Conference selection. During the 2004 season, Fuscardo was inducted into El Camino's Athletic Hall of Fame. He attended West Liberty University in West Liberty, West Virginia, where he started at shortstop and earned All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors. Coach Fuscardo was also named as the CCCBCA/Victory Athletics Coach of the Year in 2010. Fuscardo earned his bachelor's degree from West Liberty College in physical education and speech in 1968, and later received a Master's degree in Education Administration from Cal State Fullerton. Fuscardo is also an avid golfer and coached the Fullerton College women's golf team to a share of the Orange Empire Conference title in 2000 (Coach of the Year). During that time Hornet Golf had State Golf Championship finalists, including Hye Yoon Jung (1999, 2000) and 2-time finalist, Jeri Costello (2002), He recently served a two-year term as president of the California Community College Women's Golf Association. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/matt-brown57/support

TW: Includes Discussion of Netflix's Dahmer Series DAHMER-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story just joined Stranger Things Season 4 and Squid Games in surpassing the billion-hour mark in viewing time, making it one of the most watched series on Netflix. The first installment of the anthology series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan is only the third title to hit that milestone in just 60 days, and the second-ever English-language series.  Starring Peters as the notorious serial killer, DAHMER weaves a compelling narrative exploring the institutional failures, systemic racism and pervasive homophobia that enabled Jeffrey Dahmer to murder 17 young men over the course of 13 years. The chilling series also focuses on his many victims, and gives voice to long-overlooked figures in the story such as Glenda Cleveland (Niecy Nash), who repeatedly tried to warn the authorities about her suspicious neighbor.  You will hear Gabriel Gomez signing and interpreting on behalf of Michael Spady. Please be patience with feedback. Michael Anthony Spady is best known for his lead role in "Hamill" (a movie that received AFI Fest Audience Award for Best Feature Film) and a supporting role in "Sympathy for Delicious" (starring Mark Ruffalo, Juliette Lewis, Orlando Bloom and Laura Linney). Spady is one of the most notable deaf actors currently on screen.Gabriel Gomez is a CODA (child of deaf adult) , and an American Sign Language interpreter based in Los Angeles. He is honored to serve the deaf community.Gabriel has been an ASL Interpreter in the greater Los Angeles area for over 7 years, interpreting in schools, hospitals, concerts, lectures, conferences, award shows, court and more. His educational interpreting experience includes USC, UCLA, Cal State LA, Cal State Long Beach, Long Beach Community College, El Camino College, LA Trade Tech, LAUSD, and TUSD.He found a passion for interpreting in the entertainment industry early in his career, and has the unique skills suited to rigors of on-set, live, and on-camera interpreting. In 2021 he worked on Netflix's upcoming Jeffery Dahmer (Monster) series supporting the deaf actors and coaches during rehearsals and while filming on set. Gabriel has found that working with Daniel Durant and being part of the CODA team has been the highlight of his career so far and is honored to be able to bring access to deaf actors and crew. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/erin-claimingdisability/message

Health, Wealth, Love, Beauty and Harmony by Karen GravitDo you desire better health, wealth, love, beauty, harmony than this world can give and achieve it in an empowered way that does not cause more problems and ill-health like the usual method? Shown how these five areas relate to five simple exercises in order to greatly strengthen instead of deprive each other and create youthful whole well-being, I sense that this will shorten the difficult times for those who are suffering and even boost satisfactory lives to higher attainment. Being completely receptive and sensitive to real inner help just like in my youth, I experienced an amazing comeback to youthful health in 6 months after many years of long suffering once I began the Five Tibetan Rites exercises as I am also experiencing an increase in the other areas as well. What is essentially needed for a productive, satisfying life and the best way to attain it without wasting precious time and energy is found through inner guidance as the body's energy centers are activated by the life energy flow of the exercises. Awakened to clear, thoughtful awareness that opens up potential rewards, this orderly method will make the steep, uphill climb more like a walk in the park.Author Bio:  Born in October 1961, Illinois,  grew up in Land of Lincoln, Sangamon County, loved playing outside and exploring the woods,  later living on twenty acres out in the countryside taking care of huge lawn and oak trees on property. Moved to California after high school to be with love interest that didn't work out. Served three years in the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged. Attended college part time and graduated with honors from El Camino College with AS in Fire Science.  Worked with Torrance Fire Department for a year as an auxiliary firefighter and worked at several other jobs over the course of forty years while in California. Married and had two wonderful daughters, and divorced after 15 years. Finally moving to Arizona, giving up the dream of finding happiness there after suffering one loss after another. By allowing the energy found through the Tibetan Rites to guide the way, a more enjoyable life has emerged. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1955691398/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_FVE509DY705JTT58Q31Mwww.infusedmedia.cohttp://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/kgravitinf.mp3   http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/kgravitinf.mp3

What was going on in Teen Life in the July 1988 issue? A LOT. First, Catherine profiles a pair of queer couples she and Jane met at a legendary LGBT dance at Columbia. Then, we learn how to throw three distinct kinds of outdoor summer parties...and we have notes. Christina schools us on the five types of guys we should NOT date; Pam's not sure if that means, like, ever? And the editors' suggestions for ways to get fit without really noticing you're exercising are confusing: there's kind of a world of difference between how much you exert yourself skateboarding as opposed to floating in a lake. Lauren Yaffe's short story "Under The Light" takes us to camp before On The Road takes us to Vienna, WV. Body Talk informs us about fitness walking, potato chips, cervical caps, and shinsplints. We hone in on the Help letters about drug-using parents, sex-having step-siblings, masturbation, and stinky feet. Finally, we discuss What He Said about losing his virginity. In this episode, she walks us through her science journey that lead her to her passion for teaching, which began with a diagnosis of Scarlet Fever 3 weeks before her High School Graduation. I also share what I remember about her style of teaching that fueled my passion for Biology, Microbiology, and bacteria. Our limiting beliefs sometimes get in the way of us being successful. But there are many things that you can implement in your business to take it to the next level. In this week's episode, Ursula Mentjes, together with her special guest, Deborah Deras, talk about maximizing your potential. Deborah Deras has one primary purpose of empowering leaders to achieve PEAK PERFORMANCE through mindset for success strategies. She is the CEO of Synergy Unlimited, a professional training, and development company. Some of her clients include J.P. Morgan, Macy's, NBC, General Electric, Verizon, New York Life, State Farm Insurance, Macy's, and Kaiser Permanente.  She recently was the keynote speaker at a Marketing and Branding conference for Plastic Surgeons along with Kris Jenner. She’s really trying to Keep up with the Kardashians! She also teaches Social Media Marketing Strategy workshops for small business owners through the SBA at El Camino College, Long Beach City College, and Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.  She has a Master's Degree in Education and a Bachelor's in Marketing, and when she is not speaking on Peak Performance workshops, she hosts a Podcast called Be A Paid Speaker Now and facilitates monthly workshops in Pasadena and Manhattan Beach on How to Use Speaking to Boost Your Revenue.  Deborah is the co-author of a book entitled Confessions of an Adrenaline Addict: How to Be Successful Without Compromising Your Health and Well-Being. Her new book on Align for Success is coming out in May of 2020.   Today, she will share with us how to Align for Success. Please help me welcome back Top Latina Peak Performance Speaker, Deborah Deras. Part One of ‘Maximize Your Potential with Deborah Deras’ Are you an entrepreneur who wants to maximize your potential to push your team to have peak performance? Do you want to increase your productivity, creativity, and innovation? Are you ready to let go of your limiting belief that you should be a slave and exchange time for money? Remember that everything you do should be based on your expertise and what you can deliver. You should be abundantly paid for your value. It's also essential to work with the right people to allow your divine talents, skills, and abilities to grow more. You get to do what you love and serve the world better if you're surrounded by the right support. “It's not just about the revenue but the impact you make.” — Ursula Mentjes (16:35-16:39) Your hard work shouldn't just be about money. It’s about the positive impact that you can make around you. Instead of waking up every morning thinking you have to hustle, also focus on how you can be in a place of alignment. That means you're attracting success instead of forcing it. If your mindset is you always have to do more, you're compromising your immune system and all the systems of your body. You may end up feeling burned out. Take the time to slow down, meditate, and breathe. Then calm yourself down so you can focus and create. Part Two of ‘Maximize Your Potential with Deborah Deras’ Align with the energetic vibration of freedom. You're going to be the magnetic frequency of what you desire. Which is freedom. You're going to attract that money because freedom knows freedom. Peace knows peace. Love knows love. “Align with the energetic vibration of freedom and you're going to be the magnetic frequency of what you desire.” —  Ursula Mentjes (25:10-25:16) There are certain things you can do to achieve more with less effort. Some people think less effort is horrible. What's wrong with less effort? Like it's a dirty word. People think if it's easy, then there's something wrong with it. There's nothing wrong with easy and grace.  We've been socialized to believe we need to hustle. Actually, we need to align with our divine talents, skills, and abilities. We need to allow our purpose, which is our soul's contract, to be fulfilled. When you are doing that, you will be put in the right place at the right time. That's why you're here. No longer will money or increasing sales be a struggle. It's just the alignment. How is your energy now? What are your behaviors now? Identify those, and that's how you have your new results. Take control of your mind, and don't let ego control you. The place of possibility that can only happen when we're connected and aligned for success. How to Get Involved Ursula Mentjes is the founder of Sales Coach Now, as well as a Sales Expert, Inspirational Speaker, Author and Certified Sales Coach who specializes in NLP to help her clients double and triple their sales. Nate is 18 and attending El Camino College. My dad was in the Navy when I was little, so we moved around quite a bit, but I mostly grew up in the Washington, DC area, and then went to college in Vermont. After college, a friend and I drove across the country to live in LA, pretty much on a whim. I’ve now lived here over 30 years! I work as an operations supervisor for a large printing company in Torrance. I do financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis, hiring and firing, fun stuff like that! Which is very weird because I majored in art & literature in college. Go figure. I am a homebody. I like napping, reading, and watching cat videos. I also like cooking and eating. I’m vegan (not an angry vegan, a nice vegan LOL). My family loves baseball, and we have a goal to visit all 30 major league ballparks together, a few each year. We’ll get to 23 this year. It’s been great, since we’ve ended up visiting lots of cities we’d never have seen otherwise.

· College mathematics professor for 20 years, receiving tenure 2 years ago at El Camino College in Torrance CA. · Born and raised in Los Angeles, currently living in Hermosa Beach. · Bachelors and Masters degree from Loyola Marymount University. · For almost 12 years, I was a “freeway flyer” teaching at 3-4 colleges a semester, just trying to make ends meet. I was FINALLY lucky enough be hired full time as a Professor at El Camino in 2013. · During that time, I was spending more time in my car than anywhere else. Just driving, teaching, eating, driving, teaching, eating…eating junk food on the run all day. I was probably 25-30 pounds heavier than I am now. · My sister asked if I would run a 5k with her in 2010. I trained my butt off and while my time was less than stellar (36 minutes. My current PR is 20:06!), I was hooked. I ran track in grade school and loved it, but nothing after that. The 5k in 2010 was what started this entire triathlon thing. · In 2012 I ran my first half-marathon (Orange County Marathon) in 2:36. It was slow but steady. I was so proud of myself and at the same time it was beyond my comprehension how someone could run TWICE that. It boggled my mind. · In 2014 I did a “reverse” tri in Los Alamitos (called ‘Race on the Base’). I literally had to borrow someone’s bike, swim cap and bathing suit. Even though it was a ‘super sprint’ race, I was absolutely in love with the sport. I felt that if I could really get into it, it would allow me to be active longer in life by biking and swimming instead of running all the time. Less pounding on the joints. · Since 2014, I’ve gone on to complete countless half-marathons, sprint and Olympic distance triathlon races, 2 Gran Fondo bike races, 7 half-Ironman races (PR of 5:26 at 70.3 Santa Cruz in 2018), 1 full Ironman (Ireland 2019 - now THAT is a hell of a story), Chicago Marathon (where I BQed with 3:39 finish) and named an Ironman All World Athlete in 2018 and 2019 (Top 5% in my Age Group). · I will be running the NYC Marathon in November for charity (Team Autism Speaks). It’s been such a humbling experience raising the money for this great cause. Running the race for a cause bigger than myself is going to truly be something special. · Non-athletic fun fact: In college I was the drummer in an all-girl pop/punk band who was produced by one of the members of the 80’s band The Go-Go’s. · 2019 sponsors/team member: o Wattie Ink Hit Squad Team o SBR Product Ambassador o NUUN Ambassador o BOCO Gear MVP Team · Local club affiliations: o LA Tri Club o South Bay Running Club o Tower 26

He is best known for his 1995 song, "I Wish", which became a hit in several countries and reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3] He is considered to have been a one-hit wonder.[4]His first single "I Wish" became a hit on radio and TV during the summer of 1995 with a number one MTV video directed by Marty Thomas that won many nominations and wins from VMA Awards worldwide. The song was well known for its lack of explicit lyrics at a time when gangsta rap was very popular.[2] His debut album of the same title was released shortly thereafter, earning him two Grammy nominations for both the album and single. Afterwards he stopped his rapping career before coming back to release a new album in 2000 and another in 2012.[5][6] He has been living in Los Angelessince 1990 and is married to his wife, Stacy, and has two children. Career[edit]Born in Chicago, Illinois, Skee-Lo was raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, then moved to Riverside, California when he was nine.[6] He graduated from high school in Moreno Valley before moving to Los Angeles in 1990 and attending El Camino College. He converted to Islam around this time and joined the Nation of Islam.[5] He first started rapping that year.[2]Skee-Lo's debut album I Wish was released in 1995, which he first started working on in 1993. The album was a huge success. One of the singles, "Top of the Stairs", was featured in the ending credits as well as the soundtrack to the 1995 film Money Train. He quietly "retired" from rapping five months after the album's release because of a dispute with label Sunshine Records. Skee-Lo claims Sunshine Records took all the credit from the album's success, and he did not make a single cent from it. This was first revealed in a 2012 interview with L.A. Weekly, and he further said "So I refused to shoot any more videos, promote or record music. I'm not their slave. I wasn't working for free." After many years he eventually won the rights against the label in court.[5]Skee-Lo recorded a cover of the Schoolhouse Rock! song "The Tale of Mr. Morton", which taught sentence structure (subject, verb and predicate). The song appears on the 1996 compilation album, Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks.[7]In 1996, Skee-Lo became a VJ for both MTV's The Beach House and The Grind. He also co-wrote "I'll Be Your Everything" by boy band Youngstown. The song is featured on the 1999 Inspector Gadget movie soundtrack. In 2000 he returned to the music scene with a second album, I Can't Stop.[8]In 2011 he wrote "Burnin' Up" as part of the soundtrack of the 2013 horror movie Killer Holiday from Lionsgate Entertainment. MTV produced a music video directed by Marty Thomas that was filmed at actor Howie Mandel's house, which was rented by his son to MTV without Mandel's knowledge.[9] It was released under his own indie label, Skeelo Musik.Skee-Lo made a guest appearance on a track called "Now You See My Life" with former Hollywood Undead rapper Deuce from Deuce's album Nine Lives in 2012.Skee-Lo released his third album, Fresh Ideas, on his own label Skeelo Musik, via iTunes on November 13, 2012.[5] It appeared in stores July 9, 2013.[ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

For this episode, we interview Dr. Felipe Leon on the metaphysical possibility of creation ex nihilo - or creation ‘out of nothing’. This is an indispensable metaphysical doctrine to classical theists. Dr. Felipe Leon is professor of philosophy at El Camino College in Torrance, CA. He received his M.A and Ph.D at University of California Riverside, and his current research interests are in philosophy of religion and modal epistemology. Recently, Dr. Leon co-edited and contributed to a collection along with Bob Fischer entitled Modal Epistemology After Rationalism. Among other things, the collection indicates the recent trend in modal epistemology to seek the ground of our modal knowledge in empirical sources, such as observation and observation-sensitive theory. Felipe also runs the ex-apologist philosophy of religion blog which has a wealth of fantastic content that listeners to this podcast will no doubt enjoy.

When Will I Be Good Enough? ~ (Replacement Child Syndrome) with Barbara Jaffe, Ed.D. When Will I Be Good Enough? is the first memoir focused on the emotional issues of the Replacement Child Syndrome by a replacement child. Having written this book, Barbara looks forward to helping others pursue a full and honorable life, one they can pass on to their children and then, to future generations. While the circumstances of her birth reflect her position as the replacement child, today she chooses to view herself as the unique individual she is –a replacement child no more! Barbara Jaffe, Ed.D. is an award-winning English professor at El Camino College, California and is a Fellow in UCLA's Department of Education. She has offered countless workshops to students to help them find their writers' voices through writing non-fiction. Her college has honored her by naming her Outstanding Woman of the Year and Distinguished Teacher of the Year. Her wish for this book is twofold: first, to help other “replacement children” understand and accept their often challenging journeys as she reveals her own. Second, to offer a cautionary tale to parents who have, perhaps unwittingly, set the stage in their own families for a child who serves as a replacement for another or is viewed as ‘less than' by comparison. Barbara also shares her inner journey to wholeness so that readers might be able to relate to their own challenges and growth whether they are replacement children or just feel 'less than' at times.
