Listeners of Do Big Things that love the show mention:The Do Big Things podcast is an incredible show that goes beyond just running. Hosted by Adam, the podcast features interviews with a diverse range of guests who share their stories of doing big things in various fields. Adam's talent as a host shines through as he asks thought-provoking questions, guides the conversation smoothly, and never interrupts his guests. His energy is simultaneously chill and enthusiastic, creating a comfortable and engaging atmosphere. One standout aspect of this podcast is Adam's commitment to mental health awareness month, where he brings attention to an important cause. Overall, I am extremely happy to have found this podcast.
The best aspects of The Do Big Things podcast are numerous. Firstly, the range of guests interviewed is exceptional. From ultra runners to climbers to adventurers, each guest brings something unique and inspiring to the table. The conversations are always interesting and keep listeners eagerly looking forward to the next episode. The topics covered in this podcast cater to those who love running in the mountains or anyone seeking mental distraction, stimulation, and inspiration during their day-to-day life. Adam's approach is conversational, candid, and real, making for an enjoyable listening experience. His dedication to highlighting lesser-known human feats that deserve recognition adds depth and substance to the show.
As for any potential drawbacks of The Do Big Things podcast, it could be argued that the focus on less mainstream human feats may limit its appeal to a broader audience. While those interested in ultra-running or mountain adventures will find great value in this podcast, others may feel less drawn to it due to its specificity. Additionally, some listeners might prefer more structured interviews with a clearer plan or outline instead of conversational flow.
In conclusion, The Do Big Things podcast is a must-listen for anyone seeking inspiration and motivation from individuals who excel in their respective fields. Adam's skillful hosting creates an engaging atmosphere where guests can share their stories authentically. With its diverse range of guests, interesting topics, and real conversations, this podcast stands out as a top choice in its genre. Whether you are a trail runner, hiker, or simply a human being looking for some uplifting content, I highly recommend giving The Do Big Things podcast a listen. You won't be disappointed!
They're back! The power couple of the Colorado 14ers have done it again. Andrew Hamilton and Andrea Sansone have been on the podcast a few times before and it was an honor to have them back to talk about their latest adventure. They completed all 58 of the Colorado 14ers in 12 days 6 hours and 43 minutes, setting a speed record as the fastest Coed team to complete the mission! Hear me now, thank me later--don't miss this episode!
David Hedges spent the last 5 weeks camping and training beneath the Nolan's 14 line. When he had a weather window, he executed. He was able to bring the supported record down to 39:06. Listen to this inspiring conversation! Life is short, DO BIG THINGS! big-things-crewing.com

Alyssa Clark is on a tear! In January, she won the HURT 100, following wins at the Moab 240 and about a half dozen other races. She is an ultrarunning coach at Uphill Athlete, a podcast contributor and a Van Dweller. She has been chasing her dream of being a professional athlete for a while now and now that she's living it, she's not wasting any time. She is quickly becoming a prominent figure in the ultrarunning community and it was a joy to sit and pick her brain. Don't miss this episode! DO BIG THINGS! big-things-crewing.com
Chris Ward is an interesting cat and I've wanted to have him on the podcast for a long time. Not only does he host a podcast but he teaches middle school science, runs ultramarathons--and most recently, produced and co-directed the beautifuly crafted ultrarunning documentary, A Long Way From Nowhere. The film follows the Desert Rats 150 mile stage race and the colorful characters that dare to take on such an event. This movie is for everyone and it's going to get you right in the feels. Don't sleep on this one! Available on March 10th. Check out the Like a Bigfoot podcast on all listening platforms. Life is short, DO BIG THINGS!
Daniel Hobbs is the current Colorado 14er self supported speed record holder. He climbed fifty-eight 14,000 foot peaks in 14 days. Keith Hayes and Laura Kaplan just completed the Nolan's 14 line. They've been obsessed with these 14 peaks all summer long and they put a lot of time and effort into scouting and completing the project. It took them 85 hours to complete the line which means they were out there (and awake) for the majority of three nights. They were up against some gnarly weather and the fact that they pushed on was pretty mind blowing to me. Chris Fisher is a monster! I had him on once before, episode #110 where he set a World Record by logging over 400,000 vert feet in one month for the Max Vert Challenge. Well, he's back! He just set the FKT for the WURL out and back and I wanted to hear about it! Travis Soares just climbed all 247 peaks of the Sierra Peaks Section. He set the FKT by climbing them all in 117 days. Until recently, no one had done all of them in one season. This was a major accomplishment and a monster effort on Travis's part. He also picked up some crazy stories along the way. DO BIG THINGS Travis!
Andrea Sansone recently smashed the men's 24-hour 14er record. With the help of her partner, the Godfather of Nolan's 14 Andrew Hamilton, she tagged twelve14,000 foot peaks in 24 hours. Welcome back to the DO BIG THINGS podcast! I am here to inspire you, week after week with heroic tails from the trails. I've got a banger here for you this week, this one got me right in the feels. Larry DeWitt has too many races and accomplishments to list here but a couple of them include Tour Divide finisher in 2018 as well as the Leadman champion in 2006 and 2009. If you know anything about the endurance world, that says a lot right there. However, Larry grew up in a dysfunctional family where he was a juvenile delinquent, a high school dropout and periodically homeless. Sounds like two different people, right? My guest this week, Travis Liles, was an early influencer on me in my ultrarunning career. As well as an ultrarunner, he is a husband, a dad, has a full time job and does gear review for irunfar.com. He just finished Rio Del Lago and I wanted to hear all about it as well as catch up with him. I think you're going to like our conversation. Mike Cohen is a 36-year-old cancer survivor, as well as a survivor of two heart failures, a heart transplant recipient and long distance cyclist. Mike cycled across the US to meet his heart donor's family and to pay his respects. If that's not inspiring, I don't know what is. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did! With two seconds to spare, Natalie Bickers was the last person standing at the Moab 240 this year. She finished the race just in the nick of time to be considered a finisher of the 240-mile ultramarathon, among the other 127 finishers. She hadn't planned on cutting it so close. Imagine the adrenaline of running as fast as you can for the last few miles of a 240-mile race, just to get across the finish line before the final cutoff. Natalie did it and she's not even close to being done with 200 mile races either. I've got another dope podcast right here for you guys. Emily Keddie is someone I've wanted to have on the show for a while. I think I hit her up once and it fell through but I'm one of those guys that doesn't stress when something falls through because maybe it just wasn't meant to happen at that particular time. Well, Emily just completed the Moab 240 and I thought what a great time this would be to reach back out and see if we can make it happen. Luckily for all of us, it happened! Anyone who runs 240 miles is going to come away with some obscure stories of struggle and elation and Emily certainly doesn't disappoint. She finished tenth place female and I absolutely loved this conversation and I think you guys are going to dig it too. How lucky am I? I get to chat with some of the baddest, most skilled, most talented adventurers on the planet. Well, I've got a bonus episode for you guys this week. It's so good, I just wanted to get it out! Hector Rodriguez just completed what is affectionately known as the Triple Crown of 200's. That's three 200 mile races within a three month window. It's been a goal of his to complete this insane, mind melting adventure for over a year now. And he did it. We get into it all from humble beginnings to strategy to the Wolfpack that he rolls with and just what it takes to run three 200's over the summer. These last couple of episodes have been some of my favorites and I hope you like this one as much as I did! Hello and welcome back to another fabulous episode of the DO BIG THINGS podcast! My guest this week is the KING of the FKT's. He has more Fastest Known Times than anyone else in the world and when he was approaching his 100th FKT, he decided to go big! He climbed the state of Washington's Highest 100 mountains faster than anyone (by a long shot), doing it in 50 days, 23 hours and 43 minutes. You've got to hear all about it! I've got a young up and comer on the show this week. Anthony Lee is out crushing big mountain races and I had to get him on the show to hear how he does it. He ran three 100's this year and he won two of them, including his A race for the year, Ouray 100. He was the 3rd fastest person to run this beast of a race! He's only 27 years old and he's just finding his rhythm when it comes to ultramarathons. He's getting faster and having more success and if you're into ultra, this is a guy you're going to want to keep your eye on.
