    Ivy Insights

The Gettin' Salty Experience Firefighter Podcast is an incredibly entertaining and informative podcast that brings the firehouse experience to life. As a non-firefighter Brit, I was initially drawn to this podcast out of curiosity, but it quickly became one of my favorites. The stories shared by the hosts and their guests are captivating, and the banter between them adds an extra layer of humor and authenticity. It's clear that these guys have a strong bond and a deep love for their profession.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the camaraderie and brotherhood that shines through in every episode. Listening to the hosts reminisce about their time in the firehouse, share funny anecdotes, and support each other creates a sense of community even for those who aren't firefighters themselves. The guests on the show also add incredible depth and insight into the world of firefighting, sharing their experiences and expertise in a way that is both educational and entertaining.

That being said, there aren't many negative aspects to this podcast. Some listeners may find occasional use of inside jokes or references to specific firefighting terminology confusing if they are not familiar with the industry. However, these moments are few and far between, and do not detract from the overall enjoyment of the show.

In conclusion, The Gettin' Salty Experience Firefighter Podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in firefighting or simply looking for a great storytelling podcast. The combination of humor, camaraderie, and educational content make it stand out from other podcasts in its genre. Whether you're a firefighter yourself or simply enjoy hearing fascinating stories from the firehouse kitchen table, you won't be disappointed by this podcast.

For those who never had the pleasure of meeting or hearing of Andy's work, know this: Andy was a nationally recognized gifted instructor and author who made a tremendous impact in the fire service. Andy was co-author of the FDNY's Engine Company Operations Manual. He was a New York State-certified fire instructor‚ an instructor for the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs‚ an adjunct lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice‚ and taught at fire service training meetings across the country. The father of two had bachelor's degrees in political science‚ and public safety and fire science‚ and a master's degree in fire protection management. Most importantly, Andy was a kind and humorous man, a friend to many, and a devoted husband and father. Andy left us with a wealth of knowledge. He touched many across the country through his articles, hands-on training, lectures, and videos. His no-nonsense, back-to-basics approach to combating today's complicated and dangerous fires brought with it a strong following.
