    Ivy Insights

The How To Get Your Toddler To Sleep In A Big Kid Bed podcast has been an absolute game changer for our family. Jessica's course and guidance have had a profound impact on our lives, and I am constantly seeking out as much of her knowledge as I can. As a lover of podcasts, this show is the perfect way for me to keep her guidance at the top of my mind, and I highly recommend it to any parent looking for help with their child's sleep struggles.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Jessica's REST method. We used it during a time when we desperately needed it for our 2 1/2 year old, and it truly was an answer to our prayers. The REST method was life changing for us, and now as we navigate the next chapter of transitioning to a big boy bed, we look forward to learning from Jessica once again. Her clear advice and examples make it easy to understand and put into practice, and her tips have helped us get our preschooler to sleep struggle-free.

Another great aspect of this podcast is that Jessica understands the struggles parents face when trying to get their toddler to sleep in their own bed. Her empathy shines through in each episode, making you feel understood and supported. She offers valuable insights on establishing routines and allowing children to try sleeping by themselves, which are incredibly helpful for parents going through this exact thing.

However, one small drawback of this podcast is that it primarily focuses on older kids rather than infants. While there is an abundance of advice available for getting infants to sleep, there isn't always enough information geared towards older children. However, I still found the show incredibly useful despite this minor limitation.

In conclusion, The How To Get Your Toddler To Sleep In A Big Kid Bed podcast has been a lifesaver for our family. Jessica's tips and methods have had a positive impact on every aspect of our lives, from improving our child's sleep to saving our marriage. This podcast is a valuable resource for any parent struggling with their toddler's sleep habits, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

But we have to make sure they can't climb out.The freedom of the open toddler bed can be too much for young kids to handle. Switching kids out of the crib too early can cause lots of sleep issues– like refusing to stay put at bedtime, suddenly needing you to stay in the room with them or waking up overnight. Or if you're already having sleep issues with your crib-sleeper, the switch to the toddler bed will just intensify issues you're already experiencing.Kids who don't sleep well in the crib, will sleep even worse in a bed.So, if you can SAFELY keep your child in the crib without climbing out, do it.ResourcesLearn more about Jessica and Awesome Little Sleepers.Save your spot in my next free Toddler Sleep Masterclass at: ToddlerSleepMasterclass.comOther resources:Join me on Instagram @AwesomeLittleSleepersThe ONE thing you can start tonight to improve your toddler's sleep, click hereCheck out the blogWatch the YouTube channel ‘Sleep Tight Without a Fight' sleep course, click hereMy favorite sleep products, click here

“How long does sleep training take?” I get this question from parents all the time. When you use my REST Method™ which is taught in my toddler sleep course, Sleep Tight Without a Fight, the process is mapped out to take 2 weeks. Meaning, after 2 weeks, your child will be able to fall asleep by themselves without you in the room and sleep through the night until at least 6am with no wake ups. For most families, they see massive improvement in a matter of days. This could mean reduced bedtime battles, less tantruming, fewer or easier overnight wake ups.In fact, some families have ALL their sleep problems fixed in a matter of days. While other families may take up to 2 weeks or even longer. There are 2 factors that can impact how long sleep training will take with your child which I cover in detail in this podcast episode.ResourcesLearn more about Jessica and Awesome Little Sleepers.Save your spot in my next free Toddler Sleep Masterclass at: ToddlerSleepMasterclass.comOther resources:Join me on Instagram @AwesomeLittleSleepersThe ONE thing you can start tonight to improve your toddler's sleep, click hereCheck out the blogWatch the YouTube channel ‘Sleep Tight Without a Fight' sleep course, click hereMy favorite sleep products, click here

Help! My Toddler Is Never Tired

Help! My toddler won't go to bed at night.  Have you ever uttered this sentence? You've heard me say a million times that your toddler & preschool age child needs to be going to bed before 8pm. But for many families, their child just doesn't seem tired before 9 or 10pm.Kids 2-8 years old should be getting 10-12 hours of consistent sleep each night with no wake ups. And the younger the child, the more sleep they need at night. When kids don't get enough good consistent sleep every night, they won't settle at bedtime, resulting in the child getting “overtired”. This is just a sleep coach term that means your child isn't getting enough sleep and it's set off a bad cycle of poor sleep habits.Late bedtimes can lead to overnight wake ups, getting up at 5am, skipping naps. Lots of sleep problems occur because kids are overtired. When kids are overtired, it can actually mask the feeling of tiredness. This has to do with the levels of cortisol that is released when they aren't getting enough sleep. So actually the MOST tired kids may show very few obvious signs that they're sleepy. But don't worry, they're probably giving off some secret sleepy signs that you can learn to spot which will help you pinpoint the right early bedtime. ResourcesLearn more about Jessica and Awesome Little Sleepers.Save your spot in my next free Toddler Sleep Masterclass at: ToddlerSleepMasterclass.comOther resources:Join me on Instagram @AwesomeLittleSleepersThe ONE thing you can start tonight to improve your toddler's sleep, click hereCheck out the blogWatch the YouTube channel ‘Sleep Tight Without a Fight' sleep course, click hereMy favorite sleep products, click here
