You're a growth-minded leader. You see possibilities everywhere. You believe your team can do more, be more, achieve more. So why does it feel like you're the only one? Why does every conversation about change feel like pushing a boulder uphill? Why do your ideas land with silence? Why does it feel like you're dragging them forward instead of leading them there? You've probably told yourself: "They're just stuck. They're comfortable. They don't want to grow." But what if that's not the real problem? This week, I'm sharing a question a client asked me that I cannot stop thinking about. And I promise—the answer is going to surprise you.
You've heard the story of the Good Samaritan countless times, but have you ever thought of the story as only half of the conversation? The parable is Jesus's answer to a series of questions posed by an expert in the Jewish law. "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" The man didn't know it at the time, but he was asking the wrong questions. Many of us ask the wrong questions in our relationship with God as well. But Jesus, like every good teacher, has an incredible way of leading us from the wrong questions to the right answers. What follows the lawyer's questions is one of the most powerful, provocative, and transformative stories ever told. It reveals to us that while God does indeed care about what we do, he cares much more about who we are. The parable of the Good Samaritan leads us away from self-justifying legalism, and toward the overflowing compassion and mercy of the Kingdom of God.

Spoiler alert: You've been asking the wrong question.Society pushes a "magic number" for sexual frequency that's causing more harm than good. The truth? There is no normal. We're diving deep into why the three-times-a-week standard is BS, how desire actually works in long-term relationships, and the one thing that matters more than counting sessions—quality and connection.Ed and Phoebe challenge everything you thought you knew about sex in relationships, from the myth of spontaneous desire to why 80% of women can't orgasm the way we've been told they should. The Gas Station Story That Reveals a Common Money Mistake Let me paint a picture for you. https://www.youtube.com/live/uqGN5Sz9tJg You're driving down the highway and see gas at $3.00 a gallon. Three miles later, you spot it for $2.97. You think, "Yes! A deal!" So you turn around, drive the extra six miles, and save... 30 cents. Except you used 40 cents of gas to get there. This is the kind of logic many people use when comparing Infinite Banking vs Index Funds. It's a hyper-focus on rate of return, while missing the bigger picture of financial control, access, and long-term strategy. So let's talk about it. The Gas Station Story That Reveals a Common Money MistakeRate of Return Isn't the Whole StoryInfinite Banking vs Index Funds: What Are We Actually Comparing? Why Rate of Return Isn't the Only FactorUnderstanding the Purpose of Your DollarsInfinite Banking Is About Ownership and LeverageInterrupting Compounding Is the Real CostControl vs Performance: What Matters Most?Infinite Banking vs Index Funds Is the Wrong ComparisonListen to the Full Podcast EpisodeBook A Strategy CallFAQ: Infinite Banking vs Index FundsQ: Are index funds better than Infinite Banking?Q: Can I use both Infinite Banking and index funds?Q: Does Infinite Banking have a good rate of return?Q: Is Infinite Banking risky? Rate of Return Isn't the Whole Story There's a conversation happening everywhere in the financial world: Should I use Infinite Banking or just invest in an index fund? Maybe you've asked this question yourself. You've heard someone say, "Wouldn't I make more money if I just put it in an S&P 500 index fund?" This comparison sounds reasonable — until you realize it's like comparing a hammer to a screwdriver and asking, "Which one builds a better house?" The truth? You're asking the wrong question. In this article, you'll learn: Why comparing Infinite Banking to index funds is fundamentally flawed The purpose and role of each strategy How to think like a wealth creator, not just a rate chaser Why long-term control beats short-term returns Let's flip the script and empower you to take control of your financial life—with clarity, confidence, and a legacy mindset. Infinite Banking vs Index Funds: What Are We Actually Comparing? Here's where we start: Infinite Banking is not an investment. It's a cash flow system, a capital control strategy, a way to reclaim the banking function in your life. It uses a specially designed, dividend-paying whole life insurance policy as the tool—but Infinite Banking is the process. Index funds, on the other hand, are investments. They're baskets of stocks that mirror the market—the S&P 500, the Russell 2000, etc. The goal of an index fund is growth through market performance. So when someone says, "But the market earns more than whole life insurance," they're missing the point. We're not solving the same problem. Infinite Banking solves for control of capital. Index funds solve for growth. Why Rate of Return Isn't the Only Factor We get it. Everyone wants to know their ROI. But when that becomes your only filter, you lose sight of what really matters. Consider this: When you access money from an index fund, you sell shares. You interrupt compounding. You lose growth potential. With Infinite Banking, you borrow against your cash value—without interrupting growth. That means your money continues to earn even while you're using it. "You're always paying interest. Either to someone else, or by giving up what you could have earned on your own capital." — Bruce Wehner When you control the banking function, you stop giving away the opportunity to earn. And that's where legacy wealth starts. Understanding the Purpose of Your Dollars All money has a job. We teach our clients to classify money into three roles: Safety Liquidity Growth Most people try to make every dollar do all three. That never works.

Dn't ask if you are better than the person you are getting ready to compete against. Instead, ask, can I beat them on this play? What will it take to beat them on this play? And then, execute the plan.
We get asked all the time by ER doctors: “How much do I need to retire?” Surprisingly, the answer to that is actually, “You're asking the wrong question.” The real question is: How do you build a career and financial structure that doesn't just pay you—but frees you? Assets are only half the equation; the other half is designing a life and financial plan that isn't entirely dependent on you showing up for shifts, scales beyond your hours in the hospital, and ultimately lets you choose when—and how—you step away.
Do you ever find yourself asking: “What's wrong with me?”As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), it's a question that might feel familiar — but it's the wrong question to ask if you want to heal, grow, and thrive. In this episode of SelfKind with me, Erica Webb, I share why shifting from “What's wrong with me?” to “What do I need to feel supported?” changes everything. Using the example of my (slightly unruly!) Monstera plant, I'll show you how support — not self-blame — is the foundation for self-care, self-love, and resilience as an HSP.

Imagine a world where business users simply fire up their analytics AI tool, ask for some insights, and get a clear and accurate response in return. That's the dream, isn't it? Is it just around the corner, or is it years away? Or is that vision embarrassingly misguided at its core? The very real humans who responded to our listener survey wanted to know where and how AI would be fitting into the analyst's toolkit, and, frankly, so do we! Maybe they (and you!) can fire up ol' Claude and ask it to analyze this episode with Juliana Jackson from the Standard Deviation podcast and Beyond the Mean Substack to find out! You've probably heard the debate about whether term or whole life insurance is "better" and wondered which side is right. In this episode, we explain why you're asking the wrong question entirely. Comparing these two types of insurance based on premium alone will lead you to the wrong conclusion every time. We'll show you why term and whole life insurance are designed for completely different purposes. Term insurance efficiently protects against lost wages if you die prematurely. It's temporary, affordable coverage that handles a specific risk during your working years. Whole life insurance serves entirely different needs, like covering estate administration costs, final expenses, and supplementing retirement income. You'll learn about the five distinct situations where whole life makes sense, including its unique cash value component. We also discuss why the higher premium for whole life isn't a bug—it's a feature based on the mathematical certainty that the insurance company will eventually pay a claim. You might discover that you need both types of coverage, not one or the other. We'll help you understand when each tool is appropriate and why trying to force one product to do the other's job is a recipe for frustration. This isn't about which product is superior—it's about matching the right solution to your specific situation. ____________________________________ Ready to figure out which type of life insurance fits your needs? Leadership, Laughter & Lessons From the Jobsite (with Jake Smaellie) What do kids on cruise ships, paper straws, and water bottles on construction sites have in common? In this episode, Jason Schroeder and returning guest Jake Smaellie connect the dots in a way only they can with humor, real-life stories, and hard-hitting leadership lessons. You'll hear: Why asking the wrong questions as a leader can destroy trust faster than any mistake. How to give feedback without shutting down communication. The power (and danger) of public praise when it's misunderstood. Jake's battle against the plague of discarded water bottles and some creative (and hilarious) solutions. How small actions, like really listening, can completely change a team's dynamic. It's equal parts comedy, chaos, and practical takeaways you can use to lead better whether you're running a crew, a company, or just your own household. Listen now, you'll laugh, you'll learn, and you'll probably never look at a plastic water bottle the same way again. A much more useful and interesting question than "What was Israel supposed to do in response to October 7?" is "What were Palestinians supposed to do in response to all of Israel's abuses prior to October 7?" Nobody's ever been able to give me a serious response to this question which doesn't entail mountains of lies and/or the dehumanizing expectation that Palestinians should accept conditions that none of us would willingly accept ourselves. Should the Federal Reserve cut interest rates or hold them steady? The debate is raging with plausible arguments on both sides, but Money Metals Midweek Memo podcast host Mike Maharrey thinks we're debating the wrong question. In this episode, Mike argues that the real question is why we let central planners control interest rates in the first place. He explains the role of interest rates in the economy and how politicians and central bankers have distorted the entire system to our detriment. Of course, central planners are going to centrally plan, so Mike explains how we can navigate things in the world as it exists.

Most people approach retirement planning with a list of questions in hand, but what if you're asking the wrong questions? In this episode, Mark unpacks why traditional thinking about retirement often leads people astray. If you've ever fixated on your “magic number” for retirement or chased high returns, Mark will show you how those concerns might be holding you back and what to do instead. Here's some of what we discuss in this episode:
Even people who are committed to Jesus can become unresponsive to him. The disciples who left everything to follow Jesus—jobs, family and friends, and familiar routines—drifted away in their hearts until they were unable to hear and see Jesus accurately. Jesus persistently and patiently pursued their hearts—just as he desires to draw you back to himself.Support the show
Greg addresses conservative non-Catholic friends asking if Pope Leo XIV is “red” or “blue,” arguing that the 2,000-year-old Catholic Church transcends American political categories. Acknowledging concerns about Pope Francis's perceived meddling on issues like immigration and climate change, Greg explores where red and blue ideologies intersect with Catholic teaching, reassuring listeners that Leo XIV's balanced approach offers hope for unity. Citing Leo XIV's first homily, which warns against reducing Jesus to a political avatar and living in “practical atheism,” Greg invites listeners to let the Church's wisdom shape their civic life. Join him for a heartfelt call to prioritize the City of God over partisan divides. Support this ministry so more people can consider Catholicism! There may not be any stupid questions, but there are wrong ones if we want to follow Jesus. Sometimes we have a goal in mind but ask the wrong question to get us there or, worse yet, have the wrong goal to begin with! A little humility might help us start to get both right […]

We've all said it at one time or another - “Do you love me?” While it seems like an innocent question, what I've found from working with countless couples is that this “innocent” question often leads down a path of blame, frustration, and unmet expectations. To put it simply, it's a trap. It keeps us focused on the wrong things. So, what do we do about it? That's what we're going to talk about in this episode. It's full of usable suggestions to ask the right questions and focus on the right things.
