Lauren Werth: Virtual AssistantLauren started her virtual assistant business in January of this year, and let me tell you, her journey has been nothing short of amazing! Initially, she had some reservations about joining Rock Solid Academy, mainly because of the investment. But we decided to sprinkle a bit of magic dust by reserving her spot with a delightful deposit, and guess what? We threw in a fantastic bonus call with her coach, Mary! Now, brace yourself for this fabulous twist – from that bonus call (even before officially joining the RSA fam), she became a booking queen and started racking up wins like nobody's business. And when she finally took the plunge and officially joined us, well, let's just say her bank account had a makeover. In a mere 3 weeks, she skyrocketed from a humble $0 to an impressive $1,500! Keri Baker: Marketing Strategist & CopywriterKeri's journey with Rock Solid Academy (RSA) was a delightful rollercoaster of transformation! Initially, she was a tad skeptical about investing in RSA, but destiny had something special in store for her. One random Friday, Jade ran a promotional discount on RSA and without missing a beat, Keri leaped into action, eager to embrace the adventure. She was overwhelmed and in need of someone to guide her in her business.RSA became her compass, pointing her toward two remarkable revelations: a total makeover of her money mindset and the incredible art of growing her business without relying on the traditional Facebook group strategy. Through her work in RSA with her amazing coach Raquel, Keri was able to let go of her unideal clients and embrace the ones whom she wanted to continue working with. She bid farewell to clients who didn't quite align with her vision and wholeheartedly welcomed those she genuinely wanted to work with. Keri's RSA journey began with her clocking in over 80 hours a week and earning just $3000 a month. But here's where the fun really kicks in! A mere eight weeks into RSA, Keri took over her work-life balance. When planning this season, I took a poll of the top 5 struggles y'all are having in your Virtual Assistant businesses, and I've saved the best for last! One of the most important things you have to think about as a business owner is the client experience. Every client goes through 3 phases: pre-client, current client, and renewal. It starts when they first encounter you and your content, and the relationship builds from there. You will need to manage their expectations throughout the process, help them feel welcome and supported, and make sure that they're leaving your container happy. But, when their contract, package, or container comes to an end, that doesn't have to be the end of your relationship with them! Are they aware of how they can continue to work with you?I have lots of ideas for you in this episode to make your client experience smoother and more profitable!ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
Today I'm visiting with Willow Shanks, a sales and affiliate marketing coach, and she's here to teach us all about sales. It's very common for newer entrepreneurs to feel nervous about seeming sleazy or slimy about sales, but we're going to debunk some myths! Some rules of sales that we'll explore today:Sales is serviceSales are about them, not you!Willingness to give and be generous - but don't work for free!Red flag (you'll have to listen to know what that means!)If you come into every sales conversation as a good human, with service first and foremost, your potential client will feel that.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
One of my favorite things to talk about is marketing & sales. Before I get into the techniques I use in my business and with my clients, first you need to be totally clear on who your ideal client is. If you need a refresher on how to really nail that down, I did a deep dive way back in Season 1 Episode 3: Finding Your Sweet Spot. A few of the top strategies I use in my business are:Creating FOMO (fear of missing out)Everything is content! You can use anything from your life in your marketing. If you're not happy with your sales and marketing for your business right now, look at what makes you really happy. Is it your clients? Is it something you can do for them? Helping them reach a goal? What kind of content do you love creating? Start there!Show your ideal clients who you are and what you can do for them and let the FOMO do the rest!ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
Today we're going deeper into pricing with my guest Jade Jemma, former corporate sales strategist turned entrepreneur sales strategist and trainer. The big difference in shifting from working for herself instead of a corporate setting was the urge to discount her services because of a potential client's money story. What she found was that if someone really wanted to invest, they would find the money.Listen in as I pick Jade's brain about pricing when it comes to:Frugality mindsetROIComparisonsBeing “bad” at sellingSales is service. There are people out there that need your help and if you're not selling to them, you're really doing them a disservice. Your job is to show up and let them know what you do so that they can find you. Once you stop holding back your magic, then the fun can come.Learn more about Jade Jemma at https://www.freedomzest.com/ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
I bet this sounds familiar. Back when I started my VA business, I decided to charge an hourly rate a little lower than the 9-5 job I had just left. Honest to God, my thought process was that I was greedy to charge more because I was so blessed to be able to work from home and save on daycare expenses. There were a few problems with that logic. It didn't account for:OverheadTaxesGuaranteed hoursFees for job sitesThe market value for my skillsYour job as an online business owner is to show the value in what you do. From there, take inventory of your skills, experience, investments, and your research to set a rate that pays you what you're worth.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
Today I'm going to visit with Adina Kroll about what Human Design is and how it affects your life and your business. There are a few different types, and within each there are lots of variations of how people tend to deal with things like decision making, working with people, and taking instructions. We often get in our own way by allowing conditioning and limiting beliefs run our lives, but everything can be a lot simpler when you know why your brain works the way it does.Connect with Adina >>> https://adinakroll.comhttps://www.instagram.com/adinakroll/ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production

As online business owners, there comes a time when we may want to hire some help for a facet of our business that is taking too much time and energy. The problem is that sometimes, business owners will hire people that are similar to themselves, which results in tension and disappointment. What needs to happen instead is to hire people that are strong in areas where you are weak. We're not all good at everything. Hire team members whose strengths complement yours, not overlap yours. Today's guest, Amy Hager, has a brilliant approach to building your team.Amy Hager, a true marketer and community builder at heart, and Co-Founder of The Content Personality Club, uses her years of experience and expertise to help service-based business owners around the world grow businesses they love at Joyful Business Revolution. Amy's yoga instructor says she has lived 12 lives already because she has so many experiences. She has raced cars, been a radio DJ, built sales and marketing teams (one was for a standardized construction contracts coalition), worked at a group home to support adults with mental illness, led a B&B association, started a youth group, been a military spouse - just to name a few.Content Personality Quiz >>> https://joyfulbusinessrevolution.com/quiz/Connect with Amy:https://www.linkedin.com/in/amy-hager-cae-iom-393493a/https://www.facebook.com/amy.hager.58/ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
Why is it so important to create social content consistently? It really comes down to the KLT - the Know, Like & Trust factor with your audience. Content is the way that they can get to know you, who you are, what you do, what it's like to work with you, and build trust with them to hopefully move them into being a client. That said, content creation isn't easy for everyone. Not everyone has gone through the journalism and writing classes that I have, for example. The important thing is to find the hook - the attention-getter that will make people sit up and pay attention. In this episode I'll share some ideas and ways to beef up your content creation for yourself and your clients so that your audience can really build up that strong connection with you.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
The whole purpose of this podcast is to inspire women to do more and to be more, and to face the fear of being that rebel and doing something different from what your friends and family expect you to do. We are changing the generational wealth and we are changing our own stories to inspire our children and their children. In Season 4, we're gonna be expanding a little bit on who we're working with. We're gonna be talking to other badass women outside of the VA industry, but they are online business owners themselves, so it's going to be amazing.Every day I hear stories from my clients about their mistreatment in corporate jobs. No raises for several years, manipulation, harassment, unequal pay, the list goes on and on. That's why my mission is so important. Mary was laid off from her corporate job during the C19 pandemic and decided to open her own wedding and event venue with her mother and two friends. She was drawn to the virtual assistant (VA) world after seeing Jessica Hawk's TikTok and decided to launch her own VA business in October 2021, and her background in graphic design helped her to succeed in her venture.Mary knew she wanted to invest in her business, but wasn't sure how to go about it. She found me in mid-November and didn't require much convincing. Mary was doing all the things in her business, but wasn't getting the results. She knew her niche was wedding professionals because of the venue, and she knew their fears, pains, and goals. The obstacle she faced was not having a support system.Mary shares her experience of her now ex-husband not being supportive when she lost her job and started a business, which caused her to not put in her best effort. Her husband was also constantly in her ear about the investment she had made and not seeing results quickly. This conversation was a reminder that having the support of a partner is essential when starting a business.Mary went through RSA and Scale to Summit with me and is now one of my co-coaches. I'm so proud of how far she has come, even when she didn't have the support she needed starting out.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
In middle and high school, I was picked on mercilessly by my classmates. I had gotten a horrible haircut that made my already somewhat large nose much more obvious. They had awful nicknames for me, and I learned how to grow a thick skin. That served me well in the military, but it also inspired me to teach my kids to do better.Everything we do has a ripple effect to everyone around us. We're not all made to hold the same job for 30 years, and as a society we need those. If that's not you, set aside your fears of being made fun of, or the fear of failing, and think not only about your own life but the lives of others that will be impacted positively when you get out of your own way. So many of you have reached out to me since last week's episode and I truly appreciate all of you. I see you and your struggles and it was very brave and it meant a lot.In this episode I'm going to flip the script a little bit towards my clients and how we work together to overcome the internal struggles when it comes to our own businesses and our own lives. I'm talking about money mindset, perfectionism, self-sabotage, and imposter syndrome, to name a few.I'll talk about 2 clients I have and the mindset issues they've been facing. One of them is always everyone else's cheerleader, but doesn't give her own business the same support. The other is having trouble going through the steps of Rock Solid Academy because she has outsourced everything in her business and doesn't have the confidence to do it herself. It all comes down to what excuses are you telling yourself? How are you getting in your own way? Journal through it and you will find some things about yourself you never knew before.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
This season has been about resilience and fortitude, and doing what you need to do even when life throws you curve balls. So many women come to me having gone through a major upheaval like a breakup or divorce, or there's been a family death, or they're just tired of the mundane and have had an epiphany that they are done with the 9-5 grind. In this episode I'll share some of their stories (with fake names) so you can see just how empowering investing in yourself can be.These women have changed their lives, even while taking care of their kids, and even while pregnant. They have created their dream careers where they can travel if they want to, where they can have all the freedom they want and the income they need. They set their excuses aside and moved forward, no matter what. They inspire me every day and I hope they have inspired you too. I have a challenge for you! I want you to create a reel or a post and talk about a time when you or someone close to you overcame a huge obstacle. It's a difficult topic for sure, but the experience was a very important element to how I've gotten where I am today.I had never planned to get pregnant at 22. Looking back now, I was just a baby myself. Regardless, after that I had everything planned out. My then-husband and I decided to wait until I had finished my degree to try for another baby and I had it planned to the day when I would get pregnant so that I wasn't huge in the summer, and all the planning worked - I got pregnant! As you might have guessed, I miscarried soon after. It was very early, but it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. The anger, depression, shame, and guilt that I carried from that made my next pregnancy miserable.Looking back, I still don't understand why things had to happen that way, but I know that God does not make mistakes. He has a bigger plan for me and in order for me to get to where I am, there were a lot of difficult things I had to get through. At some point in our lives, we all experience loss, whether it's the loss of a loved one, a job, a relationship, or even a sense of identity. It can be a difficult and painful experience that can leave us feeling lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to move forward. But with resilience, we can overcome these challenges and find a way to move forward with hope and positivity.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
A very common mistake I see in marketing and messaging is giving waaaaaaay too much information. People who are asking questions don't need a wall of word vomit - that'll get you ghosted. You don't need to jam-pack your modules just to prove that you are a wealth of information because you will overwhelm them.Do your market research! Learn who your people are, what they need, and how they want to be talked to. Don't try to be a jack of all trades, or try to learn all the things without implementation. When you're creating your offer, think of what will work for the majority of your ideal clients. There will be exceptions and tweaks, but that's what the one-on-one calls are for. That's where the magic happens anyway. All of this comes down to having the confidence that you can handle this. You don't have to prove yourself to anyone. Be open to learning new things, and implement them. Check in on your mindset and envision yourself taking believable action, and really believe in it. The energy radiating from you will radiate to your potential clients and they'll believe in you too.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
As you climb the ladder of success, and as you progress in the personal growth required to grow your business, people who don't understand will fall away. That doesn't mean that relationships will be imploding left and right, but as you release the people pleasing and get better with setting boundaries, it will become clear who your people are.As I get more comfortable with speaking my mind, I've had to get used to a much smaller circle of people, but the friends I do have are 100% in my corner. I think that when I share about my business and the success I've had, sometimes people don't know how to react. They might have their own money mindset issues coming up, or even some jealousy.Surround yourself with like-minded people and keep your circle small and supportive. If you need to unfollow or unfriend people that are making you feel bad about yourself, that's okay.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
I grew up in a small town, which I love. However, in a small town, everyone knows everyone and their business. When I started sharing about my success with my business, some small town haters that I went to school with came out of the woodwork and really showed their true colors. Unfortunately, that included some people that I had been really close with, and that hurt. While my haters were busy bashing “pyramid schemes,” (which had nothing to do with my business anyway), I was developing myself, my business, and paying my own bills. My tax returns are not their business, because they're not paying my bills. At the end of the day, there will always be haters, but you don't have to pay attention to them. When you're confident enough in yourself, you don't need to hold it against them. They're not necessarily bad people - they're just not your people.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
In this episode I'll look back at 17 year old Jade who joined the military, left home, got married at 18, then divorced by 20 and had to start over with absolutely nothing. At the time, I didn't know what a disaster my first marriage would be. There were all types of abuse and when we divorced, I was left with no money, no home, no car, and very few clothes. My parents did help make sure I had the essentials, but they didn't bail me out and I'm actually grateful for that. Having to pull myself up from nothing taught me that it's possible. I learned how to manage money and how to be independent. It was the hardest lesson I've ever had to learn, but I know 1000% that I wouldn't be where I am if I hadn't been through that. I can overcome anything, and so can you.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
After I gave my marriage one more year and hired my VA coach, my business took off and I was able to finish with a 6 figure year. At the same time, I was in the process of leaving my husband and avoiding my depression by diving into work. I later signed up for Voxer access with a coach that had no idea where my business was and convinced me that building passive offers was the answer - and it wasn't.I hit rock bottom for a second time. I wasn't showing up the way I had been before, I was taking advice that didn't fit, and I was getting desperate. Luckily, I found another coach whose free advice landed me new clients, so I dropped the coach on Voxer and signed up with him. I went from living on credit cards to finish with another 6 figure year, even after a dismal first and second quarter.Yes, I hit rock bottom, but I didn't stay there. I looked back at what worked the first time: investing in myself. It paid off! If I hadn't gone through all that hardship, I wouldn't have had the amount of success that I've had. It made me tougher and stronger and showed myself what I was made of.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
CONTENT NOTE: This episode includes detailed descriptions of domestic abuse and alcohol addiction.I invested in a VA coach to provide for my kids and myself, yes, but the real reason was a lot bigger than that. In this episode I'll go into more detail about what I endured at the hands of my ex-husband, how I was finally able to leave, and how I made it possible to scale my little virtual assistant business into a career I'm passionate about that allows me a comfortable lifestyle with my children. Hiring a VA coach was the step I needed to make it all happen.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I want Season 3 to be a lot more personal and vulnerable. I want to talk about the hard lessons, abuse, trauma, and lies that I've endured and how I've turned them into a successful business and better myself.CONTENT NOTE: This episode contains talk of miscarriage, spousal abuse, and alcohol use.My marriage was never a good one. I stayed in it for 10 long years, suffering through a miscarriage, abuse, and alcoholism. I became convinced that I was the problem, and that I was wanting too much. I hadn't really had any hobbies aside from exercising and taking care of my kids and my ex husband would always put me down when I got excited about something. It took until I went to counseling the second time to realize that he was trying to keep me small. I wasn't the problem, what I was wanting was the base minimum for a marriage. Self development was what allowed me to leave and build the life I wanted.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
Something I struggled with a lot as a new VA was that I was addicted to people pleasing. Maybe that sounds familiar. I'm in recovery now and it's better, but I had to learn some hard lessons to get there.Something I often see with my Rock Solid Academy clients is that the clients they land don't really understand what to do with a VA and aren't really ready for one. Your job is to complete tasks delegated to you… you are not a business coach.Sometimes clients don't understand that the processes you're setting in place now won't really show results for 6 weeks. Clients need to be educated on what you'll be doing, how long results will take, and what they need to be doing to put the rest of the puzzle together.Sometimes you'll have to have the hard conversations so that your clients really understand the scope of your work. Your job as a virtual assistant is not to do all the market research and revamp their marketing strategy. If they don't have a solid system set up already, they need a business coach, not a VA.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
This is probably my favorite thing I do in my business. Get ready to take some notes! One thing I hear a lot is, “I'm a brand new virtual assistant. Who's going to want to hire me?” The trick is that you have transferable skills from previous jobs and those count. Don't say you're a brand new VA - say you've been doing VA tasks for the last 10 or whatever years, and have recently decided to go out on your own. When you showcase work for your first client, talk about their journey. Don't say they're your only client, though - say it's for one of your clients.Give business tips. Do a behind-the-scenes walking through something you've done for a client. Give them a shout out, make them feel special, create that FOMO, and show that there are people that have trusted working with you. Your ideal clients are watching what you're doing.Use your work as content. Use questions and objections you get in the DMs for your content. Jot down notes whenever you have an idea. Go back and look at your most popular posts, the ones that got the most interaction, and rework it and reuse it.I also really recommend you find some books or podcasts to listen to about professional development and mindset. Not only will it help you, but it'll give you some great ideas for posts.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
It's not enough to just show up and post occasionally and expect ideal clients to fall into your lap. There are some myths around content creation that I'm going to bust today. The post itself isn't going to do all the work for you. You will still need to put in the work, build that rapport, and get to know any leads that come in. You also need to show up consistently in order to get in front of people, and batching content is a great way to streamline that process.Yes, you will be talking about the same stuff all the time. That's strategic. No one is paying attention to all of your posts, and there's research that says that it takes 7-12 times for someone to see your offer before it really sinks in. In Rock Solid Academy, we'll get everyone niched down on an ideal client or skill set, then establish the 3 brand pillars. We'll establish the fears, pains, and goals your ideal clients have through market research, then use those topics to create a ton of content.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
I'm sure you know that a lot of selling goes down in the direct messages, so are you saying the right things to land clients? A lot of it comes down to the confidence piece. If you haven't really nailed down what your offer is, who you help, and how you can help them, how can you hold a conversation with them?If you're messaging some leads but they're not getting back to you, are they really quality leads? And, are you talking to enough people? Does your message sound desperate? Are you showing confidence in your own skills and asking the hard questions? Are you signing people that don't vibe with you and making yourself miserable? Let's fix it!Whatever actions you implement now, it will take a good 6 weeks before you see results. None of this happens overnight. You have to be patient and consistent. Having a coach to help while you find your footing and to walk you through your DM process will be incredibly helpful.ROCK SOLID ACADEMY IS NOW ENROLLING! https://jadejessicacoaching.mykajabi.com/Rock%20Solid%20Academy%202-0https://www.instagram.com/jadejessicacoaching/Music credit: Bouncin' Back by Reaktor ProductionsA Podcast Launch Bestie production
I know this is one of those topics that everybody in the entrepreneurial space is talking about and you may be rolling your eyes at it coming up again. But, it's true and there's scientific backing: if your mindset isn't where it needs to be, you won't get where you want to go. Period. First, I recommend some books about it if you're ready to make some shifts. https://smile.amazon.com/Happy-Pocket-Money-Expanded-Study/dp/1571747362/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3M5ZW6X1LVEHX&keywords=happy+pocket+full+of+money&qid=1667362499&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjAyIiwicXNhIjoiMC41MiIsInFzcCI6IjAuNTgifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=happy+pocket+fu%2Caps%2C445&sr=8-1 (A Happy Pocket Full Of Money) https://smile.amazon.com/You-Are-Badass-Making-Money/dp/0735223130/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1O76EW5IARYL6&keywords=you%27re+a+badass+at+making+money&qid=1667362542&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjU2IiwicXNhIjoiMi41NCIsInFzcCI6IjIuMzkifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=you%27re+a+ba%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-1 (You Are A Badass At Making Money) https://smile.amazon.com/Get-Rich-Lucky-Bitch-First-Class/dp/1788171330/ref=sr_1_1?crid=4A7C602QV7YK&keywords=get+rich+lucky+bitch&qid=1667362601&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjkwIiwicXNhIjoiMS4yNCIsInFzcCI6IjEuNDYifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=get+rich+lucky+%2Caps%2C344&sr=8-1 (Get Rich, Lucky Bitch!) We still hear it all the time, and I used to say it to myself, to charge your worth. The problem with that is if you're comparing that to a typical hourly job, you'll be seriously undercharging and setting yourself up for burnout. Instead, I teach my clients to charge the amount equal to the value that you are giving your clients. Subconsciously, we're going to care more about the clients that pay us more than the ones that pay us less. Another part of this is that if you're charging less to get more clients, you're going to be constantly working for not nearly enough profit, and the work you do will be of lower quality because there's just so much of it. Go raise your rates! If there are current clients that can't continue with the new rate, love and release them. It's okay. Another thing I see a lot of business owners doing is overwhelming their audience. I spoke with a couple of different podcast producers to start my podcast and after a casual inquiry, one of them sent me a huge wall of text that overwhelmed me so much that I didn't even read it. I ended up ghosting her… oops. Are you trying to prove yourself by sending out way too much information? Is that working, or are you just overwhelming them? Are they sensing the desperation and steering clear? Think about the majority of your ideal clients. You don't have to give them every single nugget of information you've ever found. When doing your market research, what do 80% of them need? You don't need to cater to 100% of the people you talk to. You don't need to be a jack-of-all-trades. What you need to do is envision yourself reaching the next small goal, and really believe in it. Don't think too big and overwhelm yourself, but focus on taking the next believable action and really go for it! The anniversary of the day I invested in my VA coach just popped up on my memories the other day and I wanted to share my feelings about that with you. I had struggled on my own for 18 months as a mom needing 2 full time incomes to make ends meet. I didn't know what an ideal client was. I was emailing local small businesses, getting very few responses, small contracts and low rates. I was playing it safe, but it wasn't working. I finally took the leap of faith and invested in my coach because I saw the success she was having and I wanted that for myself. I did my time struggling on my own and something had to change. I worked my ass off to save up all my PTO to be able to take 10 weeks of maternity leave with my 2nd child, and I wasn't about to go back to a 9-5 after that. Yes, you're going to have to work hard. Yes, you're going to be tired. Yes, there will be sacrifices, but think of the goal! Where do you want to be 1 year from now? What will it take for you to go all out? You're in for a treat today! I'll be talking with a dear friend and RSA graduate, Haley Benson. Haley is a mom of 3 very busy kids and going back to the 9-5 was not an option with the activity schedules. She had found a makeup company, but wanted to branch out into more online work, and she found Rock Solid Academy. Listen in as we chat about Haley's path to success through being a virtual assistant! That's the big question, right? Where can I find clients? What should onboarding look like? Don't I need a fancy welcome packet? You're probably overthinking it. Show up, and make connections. You need to actually reach out and talk to your ideal clients. Show up consistently for your business, and the people watching you will believe that you will show up consistently in their business too. Show up to DMs and sales calls with an abundance mindset, not a scarcity mindset. People can smell desperation a mile away. Unplug for a day or 2 if you need to, if you're feeling super frustrated with your lead gen. Your business will still be there. Feel confident in what you're doing. If you don't feel confident yet, what can you do to build yourself up? When I was younger, I didn't realize how much of my life I was living for other people. It wasn't so much that I cared what others thought of me, but I wanted my parents to be proud and I wanted to fit in with my friends. Throughout my entire twenties, everything I did was to please the people around me. Life is a journey. Entrepreneurship is a journey. There will be ups and downs and life will happen regardless, but it's up to you to decide what that looks like. What makes you happy? What do you really want and are you willing to sacrifice something to make it happen? My ideal clients are willing to step outside of their comfort zone, and to sacrifice some pride and some time. At the same time, success is great, but are you happy? I often hear about the fears that pop up when women want to start their virtual assistant business, or scale their existing business. What if I have an off month? What if I'm not able to provide for my family? What will my parents think? In this episode, we're going to talk about why you're afraid to do the things you need to do to be successful. Here's your permission slip to block whoever you need to in order to maintain your mindset. You're not hurting anyone by starting a VA business. Write down what you're scared of. What's the worst case scenario if that happens? What are you overthinking? Welcome to season 2! Before we dive in, grab a pen and paper. Write out every single reason why you think you won't be successful as a virtual assistant. I've heard it all before. I wrote down the same things when I was getting started too. Those fears mess with your mindset, and your brain turns that into self-sabotage. Those thoughts are valid, but they're not helping you! Now on that same paper, write your money goal for the month. No ceiling, no limits. Write it on a sticky note and put it somewhere you're going to see it. Change your phone password to the income you want. Get used to seeing that number everywhere. It won't happen overnight, but if you don't give up, you'll get there. If you're not seeing the results you want, are you showing up and doing all of the work? Are you taking every single step your coach has asked? Are you coachable? Are you putting the excuses aside? If life gets in the way, are you still finding ways to be consistent? Don't allow instant gratification to keep you from reaching your big goals. Your journey is yours alone, and you can never truly compare it to anyone else's. Turn your negative what-ifs into positives. In today's episode, I welcome my co-coach Jen Beam to join me. Jen was part of my 2nd cohort of Rock Solid Academy and while she was working with me, she doubled her income. When it was time for me to hire a co-coach, there was no question that it needed to be Jen. Jen is a VA coach as well as a confidence and mindset coach, and she homeschools 4 of her children at the same time. She was a single mom of 2 when she started her business, so she is a great resource for all of us that are trying to strike a work-life balance that actually works in real life. Well, how much time do you have to talk about this? Nowadays, there's a coach, manager, or assistant for just about everything you can think of. Then there are subcategories inside of those. Your skillset you already have is needed in the online space. You don't know what you don't know. No matter what your background looks like, we can help you find your zone of genius. You have so many transferable skills! If there's something you don't know, there are lots of tools inside RSA. You can always pivot and specialize down however you want. Today, I'm visiting with Raquel Acosta, graduate turned co-coach of Rock Solid Academy, about how we worked through the fear of investing and how she finally found her niche. Raquel found her stride and has some tips: In discovery calls, it's less about the skillset and more about making sure that person vibes and you understand each other's goals. If I don't jump now, I'm never going to do it. When it feels like it's time to shift or pivot, what's the worst that could happen? To get started, it may work better to follow the profit while you do the market research needed to follow your passion later on. Know the value you bring and your clients will see that too. If someone expects you to show up in a different way than what feels best to you, that's not your person. Don't let the lack of “skill set” stop you. What's important is showing up as yourself, confident in your ability to figure it out, and finding people that vibe with you and your goals.
