This podcast episode is your reminder to get out there and push your boundaries; second shoot even though you are established, invest in a styled shoot even if planning the details feels overwhelming and read about an area of your business that is lacking until you are an expert. On today's show we chat to Alyce Greer - director and head writer of copywriting supergroup - Bossy Copy. Alyce has been a writer for as long as she can remember, and a paid writer for over a decade. In 2016, she barged her way into copywriting, bringing her witty, conversational and, at times, smartass writing style with her. She went on to create Bossy Copy when she didn't even truly know what copywriting was! Bossy is not your average copywriting agency - they use strategy, psychology and creativity to develop unique voices and personalities that humanise brands. With many job titles, Alyce now splits her time between crafting brand voices, writing creative copy, hosting The Bossy Type podcast, teaching Bossy Copy College. She also has strong feelings about exclamation marks! But let's hear all about this and more from Alyce's perspective. – At the moment Alyce is reading a book called You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero and another scary book about a lady getting stuck in a room…lucky for us she didn't state the name! Alyce also loves listening to people's stories on The Imperfects. – Find Alyce on Instagram @bossycopy.coach and if you're wanting to learn a little bit more about Bossy Copy, you can also visit her website, bossycreative.com. – Wanting more? Find us on TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn as @cleverwomenco Ps. you can ask us a question or pitch to come on the show by heading to our website: clevermediaco.com – And please don't forget to support us! On this week's episode, you will understand your subconscious mind, and your subconscious limiting beliefs, a little better: Where do they come from? Are they serving you? Should you ditch them and go for new ones? As Don Miguel Ruiz would say, humans before us have designed a "dream of the planet", or "society's dream", and we've been raised to believe and perpetuate that belief system... But it might be serving you less than you think. If you want to believe that your dreams are possible, you've come to the right place: whatever your mind believes, you can achieve.RESOURCES:Darnall, B. D. (2010) Mirror Therapy. I know this is one of those topics that everybody in the entrepreneurial space is talking about and you may be rolling your eyes at it coming up again. But, it's true and there's scientific backing: if your mindset isn't where it needs to be, you won't get where you want to go. Period. First, I recommend some books about it if you're ready to make some shifts. https://smile.amazon.com/Happy-Pocket-Money-Expanded-Study/dp/1571747362/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3M5ZW6X1LVEHX&keywords=happy+pocket+full+of+money&qid=1667362499&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjAyIiwicXNhIjoiMC41MiIsInFzcCI6IjAuNTgifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=happy+pocket+fu%2Caps%2C445&sr=8-1 (A Happy Pocket Full Of Money) https://smile.amazon.com/You-Are-Badass-Making-Money/dp/0735223130/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1O76EW5IARYL6&keywords=you%27re+a+badass+at+making+money&qid=1667362542&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjU2IiwicXNhIjoiMi41NCIsInFzcCI6IjIuMzkifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=you%27re+a+ba%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-1 (You Are A Badass At Making Money) https://smile.amazon.com/Get-Rich-Lucky-Bitch-First-Class/dp/1788171330/ref=sr_1_1?crid=4A7C602QV7YK&keywords=get+rich+lucky+bitch&qid=1667362601&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjkwIiwicXNhIjoiMS4yNCIsInFzcCI6IjEuNDYifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=get+rich+lucky+%2Caps%2C344&sr=8-1 (Get Rich, Lucky Bitch!) We still hear it all the time, and I used to say it to myself, to charge your worth. The problem with that is if you're comparing that to a typical hourly job, you'll be seriously undercharging and setting yourself up for burnout. Instead, I teach my clients to charge the amount equal to the value that you are giving your clients. Subconsciously, we're going to care more about the clients that pay us more than the ones that pay us less. Another part of this is that if you're charging less to get more clients, you're going to be constantly working for not nearly enough profit, and the work you do will be of lower quality because there's just so much of it. Go raise your rates! If there are current clients that can't continue with the new rate, love and release them. It's okay. This month we're showcasing the best episodes from The Seven Figure Consultant Podcast Archives! This episode was originally episode 056. When I first set up my business I quickly discovered some great Facebook groups for women business owners. It always jarred with me a bit that there was a real new-age spiritualism that often accompanied this. I didn't have a problem with other people going down this route – it just didn't particularly chime with me. I bundled money mindset up with all this talk about spiritualism and manifesting and the law of attraction and I found it a bit ‘much'. But over time I've really come to appreciate how valuable it is to talk about money mindset, because like mindset and particularly, scarcity mindset, it has a huge impact on how we do life and because of that – how we do business. This week on the podcast I am talking about money mindset and the part it plays in your consulting business. I talk about: How my life looked great on the outside, but actually I was broke How I burst into tears when I suddenly made £4k in one month The beliefs we have around money What you can do to change how you think about money Useful links: You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero Jessica's LinkedIn profile
After the sudden loss of a close friend, another friend of Sarah's challenged her to a an epic sew-off as a creative outlet for the grief she was holding. Sarah's idea was to sew a swatch onto a trucker hat. Little did she know this hat would propel her into her now extremely successful business, HEC Studio, that sells hats out of her 40 foot solar powered school bus. Sarah always knew she wanted to be her own boss and she made it happen. She knew nothing about diesel mechanics and everything about good (and sustainable) fashion style. She was confident she would figure it all out and with laser-like-vision of being a successful artist and living simply she has created her dream life. Sarah believes in the power of putting your mind to something and making it happen. She's had people doubt her along her path and has let this fuel the fire in her to see things through. A snippet of our conversation: Minimalism Manifestation Now more than ever, consumers are supporting small businesses Self-worth and success Fake it until you make it Sacrifices like being broke to get where you want to go Pivoting during a pandemic Structure and exercise fuel can fuel success Sarah is like a ray of sunshine. What's your relationship to money? If you're like so many people, you want it and you fear it, love the freedom it brings but hate the baggage. In this episode on the power-packed self-help book You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero, delve deep into your beliefs about money and begin to heal your relationship with money and yourself. Get your values, beliefs, actions, thoughts, and words into alignment and begin to give yourself permission to be more expansive, powerful, and wealthy than you ever have before. Wealth is all around us, Sincero says, and it will come to us when we readily and full-heartedly welcome it into our lives and our pocketbooks. This episode is a step along that path where you'll find affirmations and other tools that you can use to shift your perspective on money. As you listen to this meditation, you'll be invited to take a closer look at what you actually think of rich people. If you have a lot of negative beliefs about rich people, odds are that you won't let yourself become one of them. Stop getting in your own way. To shift these blocks, it's up to you to decide to change your beliefs and then do it, Sincero says. She offers plenty of ways to change your thoughts about money, and in this meditation, you'll hear many of those tools at work. This book, and this episode, are not about hustling. They're about doing the inner work and letting the flow happen. What did you think of this episode? Please reach out to readitations@gmail.com and let me know. When I first set up my business I quickly discovered some great Facebook groups for women business owners. It always jarred with me a bit that there was a real new-age spiritualism that often accompanied this. I didn’t have a problem with other people going down this route – it just didn’t particularly chime with me. I bundled money mindset up with all this talk about spiritualism and manifesting and the law of attraction and I found it a bit ‘much’. But over time I’ve really come to appreciate how valuable it is to talk about money mindset, because like mindset and particularly, scarcity mindset, it has a huge impact on how we do life and because of that – how we do business. This week on the podcast I am talking about money mindset and the part it plays in your consulting business. I talk about: How my life looked great on the outside, but actually I was broke How I burst into tears when I suddenly made £4k in one month The beliefs we have around money What you can do to change how you think about money Useful links: You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero Jessica’s LinkedIn profile
Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right,” Having a healthy mindset is the key to success in life, but it's not always that easy. In this episode Sarah and Wilson talk about ways they work towards maintaining an empowering mindset as independent artists in their own businesses and how this allows them to show up at their highest frequency, share their gifts with the world, and get paid.Episode Resource Guide:Claim Your Power by Mastin KippRest by Alex Soojun-Kim PangWomen Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D.You Are A Badass & You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen SinceroPassion PlannerPatreon

Scarlett Clark founded Smart Girl Tribe whilst at university at the tender age of 19!She started SGT because she found that all the media were focussing on was sex, weight and boyfriends, and that wasn't what her and her friends were talking about.Since then, she's built a digital magazine that is the UK's #1 female empowerment organisation, spoken at events around the world, and has become an NSPCC ambassador. As you can imagine, Scarlett faced a lot of criticism when she started her business. People telling her that she was too young, and her university friends not fully understanding why she'd rather set up a business than party all the time. But despite the criticism, Scarlett transformed her adversity to prosperity, and has built the most incredible platform to inspire and empower women around the world. If you're letting your fear and limiting beliefs get the better of you and you're allowing them to hold you back from pursuing your dreams, then this episode is for YOU!Even if you don't deem yourself entrepreneurial; if you have that tenacity and you persevere, anything can happen.Women tend to seek permission or validation, and as long as you continue to seek either of those two things, you'll always be putting an obstacle in your way. What is riskier? Pursuing the dream or not pursuing it at all?Failure is just lessons learned. If you put yourself out there and it doesn't work out; at least you know that you tried. And you never know until you try, so feel the fear and do it anyway.Never forget that successful people are standing on a mountain top of failures, rejection and setbacks, and the difference between a winner and a loser is that a winner shows up one more time.Scarlett is so unapologetically ambitious because she had 100 reasons not to set up SGT but she just went ahead and did it anyway! In fact, she was in Italy the day she launched it, and her phone and Internet connection went down, but she still didn't give up!Scarlett started off her business aged 19 completely broke - in fact she only earned 25p in the first 2.5 years of SGT! She believes that women should have more access to money because as evolution has gone on, women typically haven't experienced money as much as men.In order to improve our money mindset, Scarlett says that we have to arm ourselves with knowledge. She personally has her bank manager on speed dial, and has always gone to her bank for financial advice to understand where and how her money is being spent. As well as, through reading books and listening to podcasts about money.Women are often very conflicted with money because stereotypically we're nurturing, but this means that women are better armed for the direction that business is going in. People no longer want the hard sell; they want to build up a relationship before buying or investing, and it is women, rather than men, who can build these relationships. Also regarding the current situation, Scarlett gives some very sound advice that you don't HAVE to be productive right now, and that if you're hoping to start a business during self-isolation - it's not a race.Scarlett recommends Love Is Not Enough by Merryn Somerset Webb and You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero.

Chur whanau In this episode, we share a small part of Chapter 14 Money Mohio from my New book "The Chur Maori Way". We discuss plenty when it comes to; What money mohio is and how you want to understand it more. Your money Blueprint and where it all begins. Relationships and money and what you need to do to keep your family strong when it comes to money. Cool things we have learnt about money and where they stem from The super simple and easy method anyone can do to start building an abundance mindset. Maxim around money and much much more... Here's the small snippet I read from the book Money Mōhio What's your relationship with money like? Do you know? How do you feel when money issues pop up? Do you get depressed or excited? If you're not sure what your relationship with money looks like then look at your life! Open your wallet, look at your bank account. That will tell you a good story. Is your life controlled by money or do you control money? Hey, I want to let you know it’s not your fault and this quote from Jen Sincero and her book “You Are A Badass At Making Money” sums it up perfectly. “When it comes to having sex and making money, your supposed to know what you’re doing and be all great at it. But nobody teaches you anything about it and you're never supposed to talk about it because it's inappropriate, dirty, not so classy.”~Jen Sincero Let’s talk about money. Let’s make it a topic that’s ok to talk about. Let’s make it a topic that's really cool to talk about and not so tapu. Let’s face it, we need to get a grasp of if we want to have a successful life. Whakataukī (Primal Māori Maxim) Na te whakaaro ka puta mai te tangata The thought creates the person ~ Ngahi Bidios Here is an awesome Primal Māori Maxim from Ngahi Bidios. It sums up perfectly how our thoughts create our reality. This is so true when it comes to money. Our thoughts about money create the person and manifest into reality. What is Moni Mōhio? Well, we all know that moni is money. And the Māori dictionary translation for mōhio is; (experience verb) to know, understand, realise comprehend, recognise. (modifier) be accustomed, known, skilful, wise, intelligent, clever, bright. (noun) knowledge, wisdom, clever person, knowledgeable person, expert So to have Moni Mōhio you would be a person who is knowledge- able, clever and skilful with money. You need to have 3 areas of expertise. How to get it, how to manage it and how to grow it. There are plenty of experts who have written fantastic books on how to do this. However, I will focus more on mindset and how to get it. Money Blocks They Don’t Want You to Know About Before we get into the meat and potatoes, the best thing to help you get ahead is to talk about what’s blocking you. To be more specific, what’s blocking the flow of money entering your life. Are you ready? Ok, then let’s get started... Money Blocks stem from our upbringing. Subconsciously we pick them up from the smallest things. Mum and Dad fighting about who’s spending money on what. The day you lost your lunch money. The people you were raised with and their attitudes towards money. We can’t afford it! Money doesn’t grow on trees! Stop asking! You think I’m made out of money? Ask your father! We have all heard sayings like this or overheard conversations and maybe even said them yourself. With that being said... Let me be clear on this first point. “Your past doesn’t determine your future. You are not your past experiences. You are a working piece of art. Like a samurai sword is forged and folded thousands of times in the furnace to become unbreakable. You can also be folded and forged to become a money-making machine. It doesn’t matter that you lost your lunch money, or what your parents may have said. That’s the past. What matters is where you focus. That’s the future. For more listen to the podcast episode. Chur Like always there are plenty of laughs and nuggets dropped in this podcast and you get to see the

Having It ALL: Conversations about living an Abundant Loving Life
Do you feel like you're just surviving, staying stagnant or settling in life? LISTEN UP because there's a reason living life that way feels totally awful! Recently I started reading "You Are A Badass At Making Money" by Jen Sincero, which is full of powerful truth nuggets about authenticity and living a badass life. Today I tell you exactly why your purpose is to be your most badass self and truly have it all. My website: https://www.matthewbivens.com/ Jen's website: https://jensincero.com
March 8 is International Women's Day, and in honor of this I'm celebrating the women who have inspired me, and I hope that their stories inspire you as well. I start with my grandmother, Mary Ann Reinstein, a Holocaust survivor who lost everything when she was young, lived through a lot of hardships, lived a life of service and never complained. I talk about my mother, Gladys Rockind, a brilliant and accomplished woman who led her college math department for more than 20 years and still raised three children and was the primary homemaker. And I talk about a current coaching client of mine. This woman is battling cancer and the way she is handling it and facing life truly inspires me. Jen Sincero also inspires me. Jen wrote You Are A Badass (https://amzn.to/2IX8c3G) and You Are A Badass At Making Money (https://amzn.to/2IWgj0I), and if you haven't read these books, you must! I pick up and reread her book whenever I need some kickass motivation. Regena Thomashauer, also known as Mama Gena, is an inspiration to me. I have learned so much from her, and I truly adore her. She has spent decades teaching women to stand in their power by connecting with and embracing their joy. I highly recommend her book, Pussy: A Reclamation (https://amzn.to/2J0EpY2). Tererai Trent's life story, her journey from Zimbabwe to poverty in Oklahoma to fighting for her own education while raising four children, is truly inspirational. Oprah said her interview with Tererai Trent was her favorite interview ever, and you can get her book, The Awakened Woman, at Amazon (https://amzn.to/2UpdTZJ). Brene Brown is another woman who truly inspires me. Her book, The Gifts of Imperfection (https://amzn.to/2EMr8NA), changed my life, shifting me from the feeling that I had to be perfect and be ashamed if I wasn't, to developing shame resilience. In this episode I ask you to leave me voicemail at http://purposegirl.com/voicemail, and tell me your name, where you're from, what you love about The PurposeGirl Podcast, and what topics you'd love to hear on this show. In this episode, I talk with Money and Recovery Coach, Linda Parmar. We started the episode strong by chatting about perimenopause at a younger age than most people think is possible which was a bonus because we were only going to talk about money and recovery. Linda shares her money story and her story of how she found sobriety from alcohol and now leads a life coaching others through their recovery. Linda talks about how our money habits start when we are kids and how we can change money story at any age to reach financial recovery. I also share some personal information during this episode of my struggles with money and how I handle it today. It was very enlightening and I know you will learn so much from Linda. From Linda: My life and addiction led me to a life of financial chaos. With my recovery, I learned that alcohol and drugs were just a symptom of negative patterns and behaviors. This is the same for money. A few years into recovery I was ready to look at these patterns and behaviors and I am now living my financial truth and working through my financial goals successfully. I am ready to support women in recovery with their financial recovery. Money is hard. Money brings a lot of shame and guilt attached to it, much like addictions do. I specialize in looking at your financial picture and coaching you through a process that will help you heal from your money story and learn to love yourself even more. I wanted to title this episode 'How to silence the chorus of fear once and for all' but the truth is you are always going to have fear pop up when you're chasing your goals.
