Carrie von Muench is the COO and Co-Founder of Pacific Fusion, a company building the first pulsed-magnetic fusion system designed for net facility gain. Fusion has long promised limitless, carbon-free, dispatchable power, but only recently have breakthroughs—from ignition at the National Ignition Facility to major advances at Sandia and new high-efficiency pulse-power technology—shifted fusion from scientific aspiration to solvable engineering challenge. The Pacific Fusion founding team came together after these 2022 milestones revealed a credible, engineering-driven path to fusion energy. Backed by a landmark $900M Series A led by General Catalyst, the company is developing a highly modular system that can be mass-manufactured using accessible materials and domestically sourced supply chains. In this episode, Carrie explains why these breakthroughs matter, how the modular pulsar architecture works, why New Mexico became home for the world's largest pulse-power facility, and how fusion could reshape global energy, industry, and security. Hopestream for parenting kids through drug use and addiction
ABOUT THE EPISODE:Consider this your wakeup call: In 2023, the number of people using marijuana products daily surpassed those who use alcohol daily - even though three times as many people drink. Young people aged 18-25 make up the largest group of those daily users. As president of the Partnership to End Addiction for five years, Fred Muench, Ph.D. provided recovery information and resources about all substances, from alcohol to heroin. But when his team looked over their own helpline data, they noticed that calls about marijuana far outpaced every other substance. Most were calls from parents, and they weren't simply discovering that their children had begun using high-potency marijuana. Many were detailing their kids dropping out of school after daily use, or even showing frightening signs of cannabis-induced psychosis.Today, Fred is the founder and CEO of Clear30, a community-centered support app that invites people to change their relationship to weed. The app isn't just a repository of information, but a personalized, interactive support system for withdrawal and recovery. Clear30 invites daily users to take a 30-day break, examine their own symptoms, and find encouragement from others who are finding that high-potency marijuana isn't all it was promised to be.In this episode, Fred and I talk about the inception of Clear30, the specific support systems it can provide, the difference between male and female withdrawal symptoms, and the questionable marketing of marijuana products.EPISODE RESOURCES:The Clear 30 websiteThis podcast is part of a nonprofit called Hopestream CommunityLearn about The Stream, our private online community for momsFind us on Instagram hereFind us on YouTube hereDownload a free e-book, Worried Sick: A Compassionate Guide For Parents When Your Teen or Young Adult Child Misuses Drugs and AlcoholHopestream Community is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and an Amazon Associate. Beyond Intuitive Eating - Total Confidence with Food, Body, and Life
Anti-diet does not mean anti-weight loss. In this episode, Beth talks to colleague, Krista Muench about this common misconception and they dismantle the myths surrounding dieting and weight loss. They dive deep into discussions about the misconceptions that link intuitive eating to obesity, the damage caused by diet culture, and the necessity of focusing on healthy behaviors over numbers on a scale. Whether you're grappling with body image issues or seeking a sustainable path to wellness, this episode will empower you to transform your relationship with food and your body through evidence-based strategies and personal insights. Tune in to break free from weight stigma and embrace food freedom!About the Speaker: Krista Muench is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and owner of Dietitian Krista. Much like many girls and women, Krista spent her early teens to early twenties trying to change her body through diet and exercise. Her obsession with nutrition was initially what led her down the path to become a dietitian. During her studies she realized that her behaviors were not only consuming her life, but that they also weren't at all healthy and rather quite disordered. She started taking a different approach to food, movement and self-care and from there her life and health improved immensely. Krista see's way too many individuals struggling with body image issues, dieting and disordered eating much like she used to. As a result, she has made it her personal mission to help as many individuals as possible stop dieting for good, eat intuitively and improve their relationship with food and their bodies so they can live the healthy and fulfilling lives they deserve. You can find Krista at the following links:IG: @dietitian.kristaWebsite: www.dietitiankrista.comCONNECT MORE WITH BETH! For many, a trip to Antarctica is at the top of our bucket lists. For nature and landscape photographers, Antarctica is a dream destination. Images of blizzards, icebergs, penguins, whales, seals, and incredibly landscapes are conjured; however, planning a trip there can be quite challenging and daunting. This week on the F-Stop Collaborate and Listen Podcast, I sat down with two Muench Workshops Pros, including Richard Bernabe and Marc Muench to talk all about our experiences in getting to and photographing the incredible continent of Antarctica. On this week's episode, we discuss: What the experience of Antarctica is like for a nature and landscape photographer. What to expect from a trip to Antarctica. How to get to Antarctica. What it is like to cross the Drake Passage on a boat. How to make good photographs in Antarctica. How to deal with cold weather in Antarctica. What kind of wildlife one can expect while in Antarctica. Pro tips on making the most of your trip to Antarctica. And a lot more!

Immersing ourselves in other cultures can be a very rewarding experience and can dramatically improve our photography. On today's episode, I had a blast speaking with Kevin Pepper, a Canadian photographer and fellow Muench Workshops instructor. Kevin and I first met on my first trip with Muench last year to Antarctica and we really hit it off. I became deeply interested in his passion for Mongolia, which was largely the focus of today's podcast. On this week's episode, we discuss: How Kevin transitioned from working for Autotrader.com to being a FT photography instructor. Kevin's deep immersion into the Mongolian culture. Tips and tricks for telling stories with our images. How Mongolia has changed over the past decade. Kevin's approach to making images within a different culture. Mongolian Eagle Hunters - their history and why they exist. And a lot more! Other topics/links discussed on the podcast this week: Support the podcast on Patreon.
