But what if stepping away is exactly what your soul (and your dream) needs? In this episode, guest Eryn Lynum returns to talk about what Sabbath rest has meant for her family, her dream, and her spiritual life. That's the story we're exploring today with my returning guest Eryn Lynum. I interviewed Eryn in 2017, (eight years ago!) about her first book, 936 Pennies; it was her very first podcast guest appearance ever! What neither of us could have predicted then was how that tiny step of obedience would lead to something much bigger. Now Eryn is a Bible teacher, certified master naturalist, and host of the wildly successful Nat Theo Podcast, where she helps families and children discover God's truth through His creation. In this episode, we trace her journey—from saying yes to an unfamiliar opportunity, to watching God bring her dream to life in the most unexpected way. In this episode, you'll learn:

Last week, we met Jill Felix, a certified Core Clarity facilitator and passionate coach who helps believers understand how God has gifted them. In part 2 of my conversation with Jill, she offers practical insights and encouragement to help you uncover your unique strengths and start living on purpose as a Christian woman. Her story is full of wisdom about embracing your God-given gifts while trusting Him through the process of pursuing a dream. But before we dive in, I'd love your input on how the Devoted Dreamers Podcast can better serve YOU. Maybe you're in a season where your dreams feel out of reach because of unexpected challenges—grief, loss, or simply the weight of life's responsibilities. Is God still working, even in the waiting? Jill Felix knows what it's like to navigate deep loss while still holding onto a God-shaped dream. In this conversation, she shares how personal grief, stepping away from work, and finding rest in God ultimately helped shape her journey as a CoreClarity coach for believers who want to know what to do with their results from the Clifton StrengthsFinder Assessment. Ep 330 show notes are here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/330 Are you living out the purpose God intended for you? Maybe you've spent years searching for clarity, trying to find your unique purpose as a Christian, and it seems like the answers are just out of reach. What if the key was there all along, hidden in plain sight? Purpose can feel elusive—especially if you're multi-passionate and have difficulty choosing just one thing to pursue. However, I've learned some key lessons in the search for purpose that I wish I had understood earlier in life. I'm sharing them with you today to shorten the window of time it takes for uncovering your purpose. This episode is a reminder that purpose isn't something we manufacture—it's a gift from God. No matter your age or stage, His plans have been woven into your story from the start. Your role is to look for the clues that reveal what He's had for you all along. In this episode you'll learn:
Ep 329 show notes are here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/329 Does the Bible have something to say about your purpose? You bet it does! You were uniquely created by God. He knew you before you were born. He put you on the earth in a specific time and place. And He's given you good gifts that He intends for you to use for His glory. But if all of that is true, why is it so difficult to figure out your purpose? I'll be responding to questions about purpose throughout the month of March, including what purpose is, who gives it to us, and why it matters. In this episode you'll learn:

It's about moving from “I could never” to “Here's how it happened.” Whether you're ready to take action on your dream or just beginning to explore the possibilities, Kirsten's journey shows us that with God's guidance, the path forward becomes clear as we take one step at a time and let go of our control along the way. ✨✨✨✨✨ NEXT STEPS: Connect with Merritt: Website || Instagram || Let's Chat Join the Facebook Community Leave a Review: Apple Podcasts/iTunes Subscribe: on Apple Podcasts * on Android MORE ABOUT THE DEVOTED DREAMERS PODCAST: Produced by Jonathan R. Never did she imagine that years later she would give keynotes and TEDx talks, write books, lead mentorship programs, and create more than 200 downloadable resources to rally around the power of living your story to the fullest. Cassandra is passionate about mental health wellness, believing people are not defined by what has happened to them in their life but rather where they want to go. Her core message comes from asking the question: “What would your life look like if you were to take back the pen to the story of your life?” The encouragement she brings comes from her personal story of moving out of darkness and into the light of believing God's truth and stepping into a big dream He had given her. Rachel Bates never imagined starting a nonprofit; in fact, even as she leads the Beauties ministry, this role feels outside of her comfort zone and skill set on most days. The reason she said ‘yes'? Beauties has touched Rachel's life and the faith of her young daughter so deeply. She couldn't ignore the Spirit's prompting to grow the ministry and reach girls beyond her home community—or that she was the one to begin this work. Now, looking back, she can see the breadcrumbs of God's hand leading her from a teaching career, to mothering, and then to this opportunity. At the same time, she knew nothing about nonprofit leadership before sitting down with an attorney to discuss next steps. In order to be obedient to the call, she knew she would have to surround herself with others who had the skills and experience she lacked. Rachel candidly shares about her struggles with self-doubt and on-going battle with perfectionism, sharing scriptures that keep her anchored continuing to embrace the joys and challenges of this role. Find show notes here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/297 Have you ever felt unqualified for the dream God has given you? You're not alone in that. My guest today is a decade into her dream, and she's here to share how God moved her from a career in corporate advertising to building a ministry and business that would glorify God and serve His people. Polly Payne is the CEO + Founder of Horacio Printing and in this episode, you'll hear her talk about the birth of her dream to create a God-centered planner company. Horacio Printing has sold over 45,000 Dream Planners around the world and raised over $73,000 to fight human trafficking through her partnership with A21. A mother of two, Polly now lives in Lookout Mountain, GA, where she leads her company and empowers other dreamers to create their own bible studies, journals and planners, through her Print School, which she founded in 2022. Stick around to learn from Polly about: the challenges, strategies, and faith journey in her shift from corporate to entrepreneurship sharing knowledge and experience with other creators—even if it means empowering future competitors, and the profound effect of surrendering our dreams and their outcomes to God's control. Our God is good and trustworthy and He is at work in the world—in your life, in mine, in Polly's. If you've struggled to get started. If you're tired of spinning your wheels and going nowhere with your dream, join me for a Devoted Dreamers Zoom call on Wednesday, January 31st to connect, build community, share boldly and imagine what God might do with our dreams in 2024! Find show notes here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/284 What does “Christ in me” really mean? Last year I created a group coaching experience called The Dreamer Lab where women with big dreams could come together to build community, find clarity through action, and grow their confidence as they pursue a God-shaped dream. Today I want you to meet another Dreamer Lab member, Kathy Stoops, who joined in spring 2023. Kathy has been on a transformational journey of discovering her true identity in Christ, learning how God's Word impacts her everyday life, and figuring out how to recall these truths anytime, anywhere. As Kathy has witnessed proof of God's unconditional love and ever-presence in her life, she's grown in her passion to communicate those truths with others—specifically through creative endeavors like visual journaling. Kathy's story highlights the power of a heart-to-heart connection with God and the transformation that occurs when we live from the heart by the Spirit. In this episode you'll learn about: Discovering your true identity in Christ (and what it's really all about), How small action steps can help build your confidence, and Cultivating an awareness of God's presence in your everyday life. COMING UP: Join the Dreamer Lab Mirror Experience – a free workshop on Zoom – to experience exactly what it's like to be part of this group of women who are invested in one another's success and who know deep in their bones what it's like to step boldly into a God-shaped dream. Find show notes here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/283 Why is there so much pressure to figure out the dream before you start? Most women say it's the fear of getting it wrong, making a mistake, or misunderstanding God's prompting and falling out of His will. But truly, these concerns have nothing on God. He is not afraid of you getting it wrong. He's not withholding his direction to see if you'll make a misstep. He loves you deeply. He is with you constantly, and His heart is for you to walk confidently in the freedom he purchased for you through His Son Jesus. Last year I created a group coaching experience called The Dreamer Lab where women with big dreams could come together to build community, find clarity through action, and grow their confidence as they pursue a God-shaped dream. Today I want you to meet another Dreamer Lab member Brandy Traylor. She's the dreamer behind Spoken For, a storytelling event where women share the mundane, messy, and monumental chapters of their lives and how God showed up and showed off as the main character in their stories. When Brandy joined in January 2023, she did not have certainty about the details of her dream as it exists today. In this episode you'll learn about: Pursuing a dream even when you're not sure of the direction or outcome, Letting your ideas and ambitions mature over time, and Maintaining an open-handedness so that God can redirect your dream if He wants to. If you are looking to build community, clarity and confidence are your God-shaped dream, join me on September 19th for the Dreamer Lab Mirror Experience – a free workshop on Zoom – to experience exactly what it's like to be part of a group of women who are invested in one another's success and who know deep in their bones what it's like to step boldly into a God-shaped dream. Find show notes here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/282 Want an incubator for your dreams? Last year I created a space where women with big dreams could come together and build community around the experience of pursuing a dream. Together, they invite clarity by taking action and invigorate confidence by doing it all in the nurturing community of sincere like-minded believers in Jesus (because we all need Him, plus it's just a little less scary to walk with girlfriends who are doing it too). Terri Albrecht has been involved in church ministry most of her adult life and has a passion for finding ways to draw people closer to God and each other. One way that she's living out that passion is by helping churches create new ministries that are specifically designed to fit their mission, culture, and unique needs. Terri joined the Dreamer Lab in January 2023, and she is learning to follow her dream one step at a time, working through the fear while following Gods direction. In this episode you'll learn about: How our unique personal experiences shape our dreams from God, The importance of trusting His timing and guidance in the dream, and The mistake of underestimating your gifts and what you have to offer the world. Join the Dreamer Lab Mirror Experience – a free workshop on Zoom – to experience exactly what it's like to be part of this group of women who are invested in one another's success and who know deep in their bones what it's like to step boldly into a God-shaped dream.
