Sure Riki was the host of MTV's Headbangers Ball which featured the biggest names in Heavy Metal. OK he is a veteran of radio and TV but what about the dark seedy past. From 1986-1994. The Notorious CATHOUSE ERA  The Cathouse was at the epicenter of the Hollywood Rock scene. Some of the biggest bands in rock would play unannounced shows at the Cathouse but it wasn't the performances by bands like Guns n Roses, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Pearl Jam, Faster Pussycat, Black Crows  (the list goes on) that put Cathouse on the map. It was the sleaze and debauchery, the raunch and roll. Riki opened it with his roommate Taime Downe from the band Faster Pussycat with the premise of getting free drinks and meeting girls.     Riki enforced a no camera rule at the Cathouse so anything could and did happen.  While authors and journalists attempt to recreate some of the legendary tales of what really happened at the Cathouse they always fall short because they weren't there. The biggest names in rock roll called Cathouse there home and the same stands for the Cathouse Hollywood Podcast. One episode might feature an artist that sold 11 million records and another might be the coat check girl because when it came right down to it. Joseph Brooks owned a record store in Hollywood called Vinyl Fetish. One day he let an unknown band decorate the window to promote there debut album. It was Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee. He would let Izzy Stradlin sell his wrist bands in the store before Guns n Roses made a record and when they had recorded the first song Joseph was the first person to play them on the radio. Joseph was there for the entire Cathouse run and has a unique perspective on not only the scene prior to Cathouse and after but as the Cathouse DJ He witnessed some of the most unbelievable events. Never before told stories about Guns n Roses, Motley Crue, Janes Addiction, Ratt, Sex Pistols and more. Riki Rachtman former host of MTV's Headbangers Ball and Gilby Clarke get together to share a few stories about Motley Crue and review the NETFLIX Biopic "The Dirt" 

We pick up where Episode 5 left off. Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and TV Goddess Heather Locklear have hired Riki Rachtman to DJ their wedding. We go to the wedding which may have been a spark that ignited Riki to come up with the Cathouse Rock Dance club concept. We take a trip to the wedding then Riki comes up with the concept of the name Cathouse. Now all we need is a location. The decision is an unlikely run down night club that once was the most popular disco in the 70's...Riki also finds DJ Joseph Brooks   This is the stepping stone to what led to the opening of CATHOUSE

Riki Rachtman created the Cathouse and after that he became the host of Headbangers Ball. What about before 86. It's a history of hustle featuring many known players you never expected to be in this tale. Riki goes to his first punk rock show in 1979 with a friend that started a fashion empire that eventually had a tragic ending. We talk to Keith Riki's High school buddy that was a key element to promoting there first night clubs before they were even old enough to drink. What heavy metal album turned it all around? In episode 4 we go back to the night Riki Rachtman wanted to thrash things up a bit.He explains his logic to not having bands play in the Cathouse early days and his disdain for certain type of nightclub door policies .   Megadeth bass player David Ellefson  shares a few Cathouse memories remembering when he frequented the club in 1988. Even though Megadeth had never played any of the Hollywood nightclubs they decided to play the Cathouse at the peak of the bands success.We recall that night in 1991 and even hear a few vintage clips from Dave Mustaine. On that subject in 1990 Riki recounts going from the guy that owned the Cathouse to the guy that hosted MTV's Headbangers Ball and the effect that had at the Cathouse.    Riki also addresses the very public feud that was played out on MTV between himself and Dave Mustaine.
