Some say Trump won a second term one year ago today when his head was almost blown off on live television. Maybe that's true. Maybe it isn't. Luck was most certainly on his side that bright, beautiful day in Butler, Pennsylvania. I'd been looking forward to the rally because he was returning to a place made almost famous in MAGA lore by Tucker Carlson, who explained Trump's appeal better than anyone else ever had.So when Trump was almost assassinated, the first question I had was Why Butler? Even one year later, it seems odd that it happened there, especially since US intelligence already knew Trump's life was threatened, and outside in Butler, there were many rooftops, and many ways to climb on top of them. It wasn't secure, but then again, MAGA rallies seemed like the last place anyone would get away with shooting Trump. In September, another assassin would give it a shot, a burned-out Gen-X surfer dude who wanted to “save democracy.” But one year after Butler, it's as though the tragedy never happened at all. The Left never fully absorbed it and is awash in assassination porn every day, and the Right, well, let's just say there are many forces at work to break up the grassroots movement otherwise known as MAGA.Here is a look back at the good, the bad, and the ugly of this past year. The GoodOne year after Butler, Trump's presidency has been a smashing success when you look at everything he's accomplished, from the historic bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities to the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, to passing the One Big Beautiful Bill, and several key Supreme Court decisions in his favor. The tariffs seem to have worked out, and the economy is humming. One year after Butler, the Secret Service has been overhauled. They will continue to reform the agency, they say, to prevent something that catastrophic from happening again. One year after Butler, Corey Comperatore is remembered as a hero. He protected his family from gunfire. But to those he left behind, they don't feel like there has been enough closure on the case - how could they have left them unprotected? But on Saturday, the community came together to honor Corey with a motorcycle ride called Corey's Cruise:Corey's Cruise, that's the MAGA spirit. Paying tribute to one of their own.One year after Butler, journalist Selena Zito published the definitive account of that day. A Pennsylvania native, Zito captures Butler and cares enough about the place and its people to tell the story of its history and why it mattered that Trump came to Butler at all. He's the only sitting president ever to do so, she says. Zito has seen Trump in a way no other mainstream journalist ever has, and even tops Tucker Carlson, I think, in explaining Trump and his appeal. Maybe because she knows the time and place of which she writes, or maybe it's something else, an ability to see what other people can't. One year after Butler, it has been promises made and promises kept for people like me. I voted for Trump for two reasons. To protest the unprecedented, authoritarian lawfare by Joe Biden and the Democrats and to put an end to the gender madness that was destroying the minds and bodies of children. It is still hard for me to believe this is going on in America with no guardians on the Left to protect kids. When I see videos like this, I am reminded of why I voted for Trump and why I would vote for him a thousand times over:One year after Butler, the Trump administration is going after John Brennan and James Comey for Russiagate:Matt Taibbi has been on the story for years and goes into it at length on America This Week. The BadOne year after Butler, Elon Musk, who said he became a Trump supporter that day, is now a Trump hater, someone so filled with rage and resentment that he started his own political party just to hurt Trump. And said on Twitter that Trump is in the Epstein Files, which put the whole ugly scandal into motion. The truth? Musk was likely burned after Trump shut him out of the inner circle. The richest man in the world might be among the most fragile, and hell hath no fury like an Elon scorned.Tucker Carlson is parting ways with the Trump administration because of Iran and Israel, now proclaiming Israel is the one behind the Epstein cover-up. He's also saying, in his recent speech for Turning Point, that it's no big deal to kick biological men out of women's sports. Who cares? One year after Butler, fair weather MAGA like Andrew Schultz, Theo Von, and Joe Rogan aren't ride or die Trump supporters anymore. They chose him at the time as the better option, but if Trump doesn't give them exactly what they want — not fund Ukraine, wash their hands of Israel, or reduce the government deficit, whatever it is, they're free agents now ripe for the picking. One year after Butler, a war has broken out between the head of the FBI, Dan Bongino, and Attorney General Pam Bondi over the promised release of the Epstein Files. MAGA wants Bondi to be fired or to step down because of it. She made it seem like there was a client list and they would be naming names. But then abruptly announced that no, there isn't one and case closed. So Trump has had to take to Truth Social to defend her and try to steady the ship, but more and more people are reading this like a cover-up. In other words, MAGA is leading a Watergate-like situation to take down its own leader. into its own leader, doing the Democrats' dirty work without even trying:Both the Left and the Never Trumpers are using the Epstein case in hopes of dividing and conquering MAGA. And from the looks of it, they're winning. It reminds me of that song from U2, So Cruel, “I gave you everything you ever wanted, it wasn't what you wanted.”Even though the Democrats had the files all through Biden's presidency, they are counting on people being stupid enough to believe them when they pretend to care:The UglyOne year after Butler, almost no one cares about the shooter, Thomas Crooks. He is a ghost. If Thomas Crooks had succeeded, would he have been made a hero like Luigi Mangione? Is that what he was seeking, that kind of adulation and respect? He was not only a nobody, a loner, but like so many others, spent his formative years on lockdown, online. Who knows who got to him?One year later, the lesson was not learned because the tragedy was never fully absorbed. All they knew was that they were angry the shooter missed. We have to assume that, yes, Crooks would have been remembered well if he hadn't. Instead, he was shot and killed in the blazing sun on a rooftop at just 20 years old. One year after Butler, comments like this are not just accepted but encouraged. Nothing has changed for the Democrats and the Left; their propaganda press and the so-called “resistance” have not done a single thing differently after their defeat. They didn't absorb what happened on their side, the debate, the cognitive decline, the George Clooney op-ed, and Kamala Harris' terrible campaign. If anything, they've become even more emboldened to amplify their hate against Trump, as if they never saw him shot at all, as if they didn't just suffer the greatest political humiliation in modern American history. But they did. We were there. We saw. All it's meant to them, one year after Butler, is that they have to wish harder for Trump's demise. They have to get louder and meaner. One year after Butler and the Left still have no power except for one Democratic Socialist on the rise, who is leading them even further into fanaticism. The day I called Trump “My President”If I'd never left the Doomsday Bunker and found my way to watching a MAGA rally, I'd have never humanized Trump either. I, too, might have said about both of these attempted assassinations, “Too bad he missed.” But I did escape. I had to leave when the hatred I was engaging in made me feel sick. I knew I had to do something to understand better why we were on one side and they were on the other, and why we felt it was okay to treat half the country like human garbage. At first, the MAGA rallies were like homework. I was looking for the smoking gun. Was Trump really Hitler? Was he a bigot and a racist? No. He was just someone who didn't follow our strict rules of language, which had become so rigid that we didn't even know what basic words meant anymore, like man and woman. Over time, the rallies became, for me, the one bright spot amid a long, miserable, dark winter. They were celebrations with happy people. None of them judged each other. All of them were part of an America that people like me had abandoned long ago. Finding my humanity in 2020 would change the course of my life, something I could never have predicted would hit me in middle age. All I knew was that I had to do what I thought was the right thing, and humanizing my enemies was it. So, of course, I was watching Trump's rally in Butler. I wouldn't miss it. When I saw Trump was shot, I said, “Please, God, not my president.” My president. I didn't vote for him in 2020, so how could he be my president? And besides, he hadn't even won yet.I can't really explain it except to say that by then, I knew the forces that had been marshaled to remove Trump from power by any means necessary, and there were only a few months left before it was too late for them. Would they really go this far? Could they? Would it have been like shooting fish in a barrel to find vulnerable people who might want to make something of their miserable lives by becoming famous for taking out Public Enemy Number One?I guess it's as Rupert Pupkin says in The King of Comedy, “better King for a day than schmuck for a lifetime.”One year after Butler, we'll never know the answer to that. If there ever was any evidence, it's long gone by now. It could just be that lockdowns caused real harm to the minds of the young, especially young men, and no one has bothered to look into it.One year after Butler, I know I made the right choice when I voted for Trump. I'll be forever grateful to him for rescuing this country and its children from the clutches of fanaticism. And you can't watch as many rallies as I have and come away not liking the guy. Those still awash in rage and delusion might find, decades from now, that they missed out on one of the most spectacular moments in American history when this country elected one of its brightest lights. // This is a public episode. In the blood-soaked pantheon of Depression-era gangsters, one killer stood apart - not for his height, but for his face. Witnesses consistently described him as looking like "an angel," with bright blue eyes and features so youthful that bank tellers often mistook him for a teenage messenger boy. That angelic countenance masked the soul of perhaps the most efficient killer in gangster history. Baby Face Nelson didn't just rob banks - he hunted FBI agents for sport, kept a list of their license plates, and giggled like a schoolboy while gunning them down. He was a member of John Dillinger's gang and replaced him as Public Enemy Number One. Reel Britannia - a very British podcast about very British movies...with just a hint of professionalism This week, an episode that has been eleven years in the making. At last, our dear friend Maurice, host of See Hear and Love That Album joins Scott and Steven via Skype from Melbourne Also joining us are Scott's co hosts from The Stinking Pause podcast, Paul and Charlie A word of warning, Scott has manged to bleep out most of the profanity... but this episode is still a little bit sweary! McVicar (1980) John McVicar (Roger Daltrey) is an English career criminal locked up with all the other lifers in the dreaded E Wing of Durham Prison. Between riots and constant prison guard brutality, McVicar and fellow inmate Walter Probyn (Adam Faith) gradually dig a tunnel that enables their escape. Once on the outside, McVicar does his best to lie low and re-enter the lives of his wife (Cheryl Campbell) and infant son, despite the fact that police have labeled him "Public Enemy Number One." "I suppose you think you got the better of us there. But just remember, kidder, you're in for ten years." "Yeah, that's right, Mr. Pendel. But you're in for life, ain't yer?" The Private Record — Episode 30 — When You Escape a Cult (Part Two!) Several weeks ago we dropped what is by now (by far) our most beloved episode (EP06), featuring Ben, a brave young man who escaped a strange and little-known Christian 'cult' (his words, not ours!) that goes by the name of 'Gospel Outreach'. Needless to say, the episode dropped on Gospel Outreach like a bomb, instantly turning Ben into their Public Enemy Number One. Since then, the leaders of GO have tried to silence him, defame him, harm his business, and outright intimidate him. But Ben ain't stoppin! In fact, he's SO not-stoppin' that he agreed to come back on the show and do it all over again... this time, with an even bigger chip on his shoulder, and even more brain-popping details about Gospel Outreach. If his first episode was explosive, this one is downright nuclear. Ben names names and pulls no punches. We highly recommend checking out Episode Six before hitting play on this one, as Ben and Matt pick up where they left off in that conversation. Alan and Lionel sit down with AG Sulzberger, chair and publisher of the New York Times. AG took over as publisher of the New York Times six years ago after many years as a hack. His term coincided with that of Donald J Trump, for whom the Times was public enemy number one. AG stood his ground, telling the president to his face that his anti-press rhetoric was “not just divisive but increasingly dangerous”. He and his team have taken the Times and transformed the digital offering, adding millions of subscribers worldwide. And he's responsible for bringing a simple, yet addictive word game, Wordle, to a mass audience. Recent weeks have seen the New York Times come under fire from several angles, yet AG continues to champion independent journalism. Alan and Lionel ask him if he believes he always get it right? In this bonus episode, I'm sharing my favorite installments of Suspense starring Oscar-winner Van Heflin. First, he's an executive with a murderous plan to climb the corporate ladder in "Three Blind Mice" (originally aired on CBS on January 30, 1947) and he's a man caught by his own trap for his unfaithful wife in "Three O'Clock" (originally aired on CBS on March 10, 1949). Heflin plays a hitchhiker who plots to take the place of the man who gives him a lift in "Murder of Aunt Delia" (originally aired on CBS on November 10, 1949) and he plays a reporter invited to a midnight meeting with a serial killer in "The Lady in the Red Hat" (originally aired on CBS on November 30, 1950). Finally, Heflin stars as America's first Public Enemy Number One in "The Last Days of John Dillinger" (originally aired on CBS on May 10, 1954).

Doctors at a hospital in Texas informed George Pickering that his son was in a state of brain death. They explained that his son showed "no brain activity" and the decision had been made to remove life support. Pickering, however, was unconvinced by their assessment and resorted to extreme measures by drawing a firearm. He demanded that the doctors continue their efforts to save his son's life, threatening to use the gun if they refused. This situation escalated into a tense standoff lasting three hours, during which Pickering faced off against the police while the medical team performed additional tests on his son. The hospital was secured under lockdown as police negotiators tried to reason with Pickering, who remained adamant. In a pivotal moment, Pickering's son, previously declared braindead, responded to his father's request to squeeze his hand, indicating cognitive presence. Following this revelation, Pickering peacefully surrendered to the authorities. George Pickering II subsequently served a prison sentence of 11 months. Remarkably, his son experienced a complete recovery. How did an obscure tradesman from flyover country become Public Enemy Number One? Jesus' rise to infamy didn't take long. It started in His hometown of Nazareth, and would envelop the whole nation. Oh, His support grew, too. But most of His followers turned out to be of the "fair weather" type. And that's putting it gently. Sugar became a modern-day bogeyman during austerity. Why? And how did it come to represent personal responsibility? And who has been most instrumental in the fight against it? Hannah Fearn is joined by Karen Throsby, author of new book Sugar rush: Science, politics and the demonisation of fatness, to explore the disastrous consequences of the fight on sugar. “Sugar became the perfect scapegoat for austerity.” “The war on obesity is a failure on its own terms.” “The language of conflict of foodstuffs always justifies quick, ill-thought-out measures.” Support us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/bunkercast Book link: https://manchesteruniversitypress.co.uk/9781526151544/ Written and presented by Hannah Fearn. Enter celebrated detective Maurice Bouvier. Bouvier knows that catching the prolific robber, violent killer, kidnapper and master of disguise will not be an easy task. After all, he's been playing this cat and mouse game with Mesrine for years. But this time it's different. You see, when the two men last met, the gangster vowed he would come out shooting. All Detective Bouvier can hope is that he gets his own shot in first. Between 1933 and 1934, a man and his gangs robbed their way thru twenty-four banks and four police stations across the midwest. He was arrested and put in jail and prison several times. He escaped twice. He was charged, but not convicted of a murder, and he was adored by the public for his personality and charm. When his crime spree came to an end, he'd changed the landscape of the Bureau of investigation—soon to be the FBI—forever. He'd stolen over seven million dollars in today's money, but that was nothing compared to what the FBI spent trying to catch him. In the end, he was shot and killed on the streets of Chicago—or was he? This is the story of famed gangster, John Dillinger. Live from the no panic zone—I'm Steve Gruber—I am America's Voice— I am a man on a mission to make this nation better—and yes I am proud to say I believe in America First— Here are three big things you need to know right now— ONE—Arizona Senator Kirsten Synema—shocked the left and the liberal chattering class at the end of last week when she announced she would no longer be a Democrat—and instead would be an independent— the blowback is fierce— TWO— And in the House, Arizona is top of mind too—it's the Republicans that are fighting over who will be the next Speaker of the House— Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs wants the job and he will join me this hour— THREE— I think it's pretty safe to say now, from the left-wing point of view—for the liberals, Public Enemy Number One is Elon Musk— Former President Donald Trump barely gets mentioned in the social media screeds—BUT boy oh boy—Musk is the target pretty much constantly and don't expect that to change anytime soon—if ever— You see, he must be destroyed at all costs according to the socialist point of view—I mean this guy keeps exposing the Globalist Cabal—that was in charge of censoring the comments, commentary and conservative thoughts of millions of Americans—the term shadow banning was coined during the height of the censorship—and it has persisted for years—with the former team in charge of the social media giant—denying they were targeting Americans for not have the right political opinions— But Elon Musk continues to expose them—for the world to see—plowing through the falsehoods—the gaslighting and the blatant lies—to set the record straight and confirm what we all knew was happening anyway— And for his blatant attempts to rid the world of censorship—and release those that had been impacted—and defending Free Speech—he has been labeled as an Enemy of the People by the zealots on the left— It was going on all weekend again too—with Musk stirring the pot—and poking fun at the leftists whenever he felt like it— At one point he Tweeted that his pronouns are Prosecute Slash—Fauci—and it generated the very kind of responses you would anticipate—with those on the left like the long ago fully discredited Keith Olbermann and others calling for Musk to be run out of town—suspended from controlling Twitter and others calling for him to be arrested—for what I cannot quite figure out—except that speaking his mind and allowing others to do the same is clearly criminal activity in the minds of socialist tyrants—who demand just one train of thought— At another point, the former CEO of Twitter—the very odd recluse Jack Dorsey tried to fact check the man who paid $44 Billion dollars for Twitter—and for Jack it really didn't go well at all— I mean he should realize that Musk has all the receipts now for all the games that were played—on a variety of topics— So when Musk called out the former security team in a Tweet—posting, “it's a crime that they refused to take action on child exploitation for years”— To which, Dorsey Tweeted: “This is False” Well, that was the greenlight for Musk to unload—and he did it as if he was armed for bear— “No, it is not.” He began, then added this: “When Ella Irwin, who now runs Trust and Safety, Joined Twitter earlier this year, almost no one was working on child safety. She raised this with Ned and Parag, but they rejected her staffing request. I made it a top priority immediately” And with that—Musk neutered Dorsey in the conversation—and I am pretty sure Jack went back into hiding— Another dump of Twitter Files also fingered Michelle Obama for being among those that were most outspoken about censoring former President Donald Trump—and the latest dump written by Bari Weiss, the former New York Times writer, revealed that inside Twitter—they were desperately looking for an excuse to de-platform Trump—which they eventually did—But on very weak reasoning— And in one other gesture of a good old fashioned F-You to the left Musk also fanboyed Arizona Senator Kirsten Sinema—for dumping the Democrat Party in favor of being an independent—and as you can imagine—that also lit fireworks off all over the internet—of course Sinema, is already a favorite target of the so-called ‘inclusive left' because she has the nerve to actually have opinions that do not line up with Bernie Sanders—who is also an independent—BUT he apparently is ok and she is wicked and evil— But don't worry—Elon the last time I looked was wishing everyone a happy Sunday—and seems to be enjoying his new $44 Billion dollar toy—that with a few keystrokes can send the left into full blown blood pressure spikes that could trigger them into having an actual stroke—
On this episode of the Sofa King Podcast, we look at one of the most famous bank robbers in American history, John Dillinger. Responsible for a dozen bank robberies in just one year of his crime spree, he became the ultimate dark celebrity of his day. Though he broke out of many prisons, murdered people, and spent nearly a decade in jail, he was a cult figure of an early American pop-culture. He ran with the likes of Baby Face Nelson and came up with some very creative ways to rob banks and sell newspapers. He was dubbed Public Enemy Number One by the FBI before dying in a shootout with them. If you like tales of gangsters and true crime, give this one a listen. In this episode of The Remnant Underground, Michael Matt takes a hard look at two issues of international urgency: 1) Pfizer's shocking admission to a MEP on the floor of the EU parliament. 2) Even Leftist progressives are sounding the alarm that Team Biden is recklessly pushing US into World War III With respect to Number 1: Whom are we to judge first for this crime against humanity? Pope Francis? Bill Gates? With respect to Number 2: Do those who support US intervention in Ukraine realize that they're also supporting World War III? And as if that weren't enough, do they realize with whom they're in bed, i.e., Justin Trudeau, Barack Obama, and George Soros? It's time to ask the question everyone from Jeffrey Sachs to Colonel Douglass McGregor has been asking for months now: Why is negotiating for peace with Russia simply not an option? Plus, Pope Francis attacks traditional Catholics again, this time right in the middle of saying Mass. The takeaway: The pope is, as Cardinal Muller admitted recently, engaging in a ‘hostile takeover of the Catholic Church” and to get there, he needs to get rid of us. So, what we're watching right now is the Globalist cabal dismantling the Catholic Church (which built Western Civilization) while systematically pulling America apart at the seams. After all, “equity and inclusion” demand that the American taxpayer give billions of dollars to Joe Biden, to he can fight Barack Obama's proxy war with Russia. Russia is Public Enemy Number One. Right? So bring on World War III! Everybody okay with this? There's a bank in Quantico, Virginia, that gets robbed every day. And I am going to take you there. Hello. I'm Robert Riggs. In this episode of True Crime Reporter®, former FBI Agent Don Bentley takes us inside the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. New Special Agents start their career there in an intensive 20-week long training program. Realistic training scenarios unfold in a mock town called Hogan's Alley named after a comic strip from the 1890s. Town House In Hogan's Alley That Is The Site Of Many Mock Shootouts At The FBI Academy In Quantico, Virginia I've reported there many times on stories ranging from bank robberies to weapons of mass destruction. I've posted links to those stories in the show notes. FBI Academy The 10-acre training facility contains a bank, post office, hotel, laundromat, barbershop, theater, homes, and everything you would find in a real urban setting. It's like a Hollywood set that features actors playing armed criminals. In an homage to the deadly shootout with John Dillinger, there is a mock Biograph Theater where three FBI agents ended the gangster's reign as “Public Enemy Number One.” My guest, Don Bentley, went through all of that training, and he was well suited for it. Before the FBI, Bentley served in the U.S. Army as a pilot for ten years and flew an AH-64 Apache helicopter gunship. Bentley received the Bronze Star and Air Medal with V device for Valor. He commanded a Quick Reaction Force in support of Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan. The story of that mission can be heard on Episode 56 of Jack Carr's podcast, Danger Close. John Dillinger, infamous 1930s gangster, jail breaker, bank robber and brawler, earned himself a new title on 22nd June, 1934 - when he became the FBI's first ever ‘Public Enemy Number One'. The authorities were intent on disabusing Americans of their love affair with the ‘Robin Hood'-style gangsters as portrayed in the movies.
