Mit Kai Wingenfelder. Wer ständig derselbe bleibt, verpasst vielleicht sein Leben.Vier Jahrzehnte Bandgeschichte. The End of the Bench with Rob Breaux and Chois Woodman tells you what you need to know in the world of sports both locally and nationally. The guys check the calendar today and tell you today's holidays and who has a birthday today and they read your comments from the chatline. What are some good manly movies that Chois should watch? Chois gives us a list of bands that are now considered millennial dad rock bands. Can the Spurs win tomorrow night to extend the series? We give our votes for who we think should make the AL and NL all star teams, and they take your question to end the show with Ask The Benchwarmers.

We talk to Ian & Jake Slack - Father & Son Rock n Rollers. With his Dad Ian performing in Rock Bands on the UK Rock Circuit since the late 80s and into the 2000s it was pretty inevitable that Jake himself would get the same bug and follow a similar path. We chat about each one's varied and unique journeys and the different tastes of success they've encountered along with what it's like to share the same stage together after being gig buddies and music fans together for many years.Special thanks to Affinity Photo - The hottest photo editing software on iPad, Mac & PChttps://affinity.serif.com/photoIntro Music by Johnny Monacohttps://www.johnnymonaco.com Incidental Music by Night Fires Please visit The 80s Video Shop Patreon Page to find out how you can help grow our very own 80s Video Shop. https://www.patreon.com/80sVideoShop

Dan, Manny, & Billy rank the stereotypical top 5 Rock bands of all time and put them to the ultimate test—THE NOSTALGIA TEST! “We're numb to everything, including like extreme things that are bad, and also great things [...] You see something great and you're just like, oh, whatever, you know? And it's like, there's pure artists going on and you don't even give a fuck because you're just scrolling to the next thing and that sucks in a way.” -Manny Coelho The Nostalgia Test boys challenge their musical fortitude by trying to rank from best to worst The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Queen. They dig deep to explain each one of their takes, which no doubt are going to make a lot of people angry, share some of the funniest memories of listening to Pink Floyd's Ummagumma, and how that particular album served as a “test” to see if people could hang. One thing they can all agree on is their placement of The Rolling Stones and hold on to your butts (as Samuel L. Jackson's ill-fated Jurassic Park character famously said) because they truly don't care what anyone thinks about their opinions. Who would win a home run derby sparks debate, with Mocha topping most lists and Maurie happily placing himself last after a close call at a Jays game. Roz breaks down his favourite rock bands — AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen, The Black Crowes, and The Cure — and talks about how hearing his kid play guitar has brought those songs back into his life. The group also reveals the one app they couldn't live without, from banking and Instagram to Google Maps and Uber Eats, exposing just how differently everyone relies on their phone.
Mick Jagger soll die Szene mit einem ungläubigen "What the hell is this?" kommentiert haben. Step into Episode 204 of On The Delo as Delo sits down with Teddy, a fifth-generation Arizona native and co-founder of Pretty Decent Concepts, for a wide-ranging conversation about music, grit, marriage, and building one of Phoenix's most creative restaurant groups from the ground up. From touring the country on $7 a day with his rock band Hollywood Heartthrob to winning a million-dollar raffle and losing it all chasing the music dream — and then betting everything on Downtown Phoenix before anyone else believed in it — Teddy's story is a masterclass in persistence, pivoting, and playing the long game. The conversation covers how Teddy and his wife Katie built their restaurant group concept by concept, starting with a bootstrapped Chico Malo at Cityscape in Downtown Phoenix, navigating chef drama and a complete menu overhaul weeks before opening, opening and ultimately shuttering Chico Malo Miami after a four-year battle with neighbors, and doubling down on Tempe when everyone said it couldn't work. Teddy also shares the creative philosophy behind their cinematic concepts, why he treats every restaurant like an album, how collaboration with talent like Scott Conant on the upcoming Roman God of Fire sets them apart, and why a rising tide lifts all ships when it comes to building great neighborhoods. If you're in hospitality, entrepreneurship, or just love the Arizona food scene, this episode is packed with real insight and great stories.Chapter Guide (Timestamps):(0:00 - 1:41) Delo's Intro, Episode 204, and Welcoming Teddy(1:42 - 3:34) Fifth-Generation Arizona Roots, Sun Devil Marching Band, and West Side Phoenix(3:35 - 7:19) Hollywood Heartthrob, Warped Tour, Record Label, and Music Industry Lessons(7:20 - 10:57) Every Failure Translates: Business Lessons from Music to Restaurants(10:58 - 13:49) Building with Katie: Partnership, Marriage, and 17 Years of Growing Together(13:50 - 17:03) Life on Tour, $7 a Day, and Katie Running Merch on the Road(17:04 - 18:25) Winning the Million-Dollar Health & Wealth Raffle and Taking the Cash Option(18:26 - 24:36) Opening Chico Malo: Downtown Phoenix, Chef Drama, Menu Pivots, and the Underdog Win(24:37 - 26:38) Chico Malo Miami: COVID, Hotel Rooms with a Toddler, and Knowing When to Walk Away(26:39 - 32:18) Betting on Tempe: Filthy Animal, Doubters, a Rising Tide, and the ASU Generation(32:19 - 36:10) Pat Tillman, Jake Plummer, ASU Lore, and the Rose Bowl Memory(36:11 - 38:23) Roman God of Fire, Scott Conant, Forgive Me Father, and What's Opening in June(38:24 - 40:48) Wren and Wolf, the California Group That Never Opened, and Downtown Phoenix Today(40:49 - 44:31) Rapid Fire: Coffee, Aliens, Bench Press, Richardson's, and Rapid-Fire Wrap-Up

Classic rock and roll bands and artists releasing new music? What's the point? Is it worth a listen? Do we discount some excellent rock from these bands just because it's not 1987? Or is it a shell of their sound and original fire? Def Leppard has a new song, in conjunction with a run at the Sphere in Las Vegas. We take a first listen. Then we look at the past 12 months of rock and roll releases from bands like Alice Cooper, Styx, and others who are still making and releasing new music—an objective ear on the sound of what some bands are doing today. Let's check it out together. No BS. Just our ears and the vibe. What works and what doesn't?

Time to lift your Bic lighters up over your heads, Slackers!By 1981 the radio belonged to a handful of bands we still hear almost every day. Most people remember the massive ballads, the ones that cleared the floor at middle school dances or showed up in every movie montage. Because those songs were so huge, the bands got stamped as “soft rock” or “corporate” and that label has stuck for forty years. The part that rarely gets mentioned is how good the actual players were. These weren't studio creations or hired guns. These were working bands who spent years on the road or in the studio before anyone had heard of them. When the hits finally came, the same guys who wrote the three-minute love songs could still stand on stage and deliver hours of tight, inventive rock that most critics pretended wasn't there. This episode looks past the hits everyone knows and focuses on the musicianship that made the hits possible in the first place. I'll breakdown some of the biggest radio friendly rock bands of the era and lay out why their reputation as musicians never seems to align with their massive fame. If you've written this whole corner of the 80s off as lightweight, as I certainly did as a teen, this one's for you.

Billboard Magazine -. Frm Tokyo Bureau Chief, At the 16, Elise Krentzel became a Journalist & at 19, she was the youngest journalist on the KISS Japan Tour.Rest in Power Ace!!Her Book "Under My Skin Trauma, Drama, and Rock n Roll" is the FIRST in a Trilogy. We're Ready to Really ROCK n Roll!!."Elise Says""It takes courage to step out and write your truth, own it and forgive it. Neglect and abandonment, physical, emotional, and verbal abuse, narcissistic parents and a host of malcontents to add flavor and color to the toxic mix that was my childhood.Yet light always shines through, right? I channeled my talents, hopes and ambition into writing about music and became a rock journalist as a teenager. I toured with Kiss on a press junket at 19 in Japan. That was just the beginning! Please CELEBRATE with me today! My book is now available and I'm dancing around my apartment with a bottle of bubbly. Get your rock ‘n' roll on!"Elise Krentzel's fast paced memoir, Under My Skin has earned #1 new release in these categories: Biographies of Rock Bands, Music Business, Rock, Composers & Musicians, and Jewish life. She shares how she took charge of the tumultuous 1970s by making a name for herself as a rock journalist when still a teenager. As a kid, she was encouraged by her parents to sing, play music, and write, but she wasn't allowed to be “herself.” Alienated, she hid her heart and learned to become a stranger in her own skin as the torment of early childhood taught her to mistrust everyone, especially herself. She's a multiglot: author, ghostwriter, mentor, public speaker, and communications entrepreneur who has lived in five countries for over twenty-five years. While the United States is the undisputed birthplace of rock and roll, the Brits have put together a collection of some of the greatest bands in the history of popular music. In fact, if you made a Mount Rushmore of the greatest rock bands of all time and all four bands came from Great Britain, that argument would likely hold water. With legendary bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, Deep Purple, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd....you get the picture...drafting only nine and then eliminating four to create a top five is a tough job that requires a lot of knowledge and strong opinions. Luckily, the siblings of The Music List are here to do exactly that. And boy, do the fireworks fly like New Year's Day at the London Eye. Is there a surprise number 1? And will it cause a sibling war that makes 1776 look like a game of patty-cake? Join the siblings for this hotly-debated episode of The Music List as they provide the definitive list of the Best British Rock Bands of all time!
