He lays down the tips for staying grounded through tough times, sheds light on life as a therapist, and even gives some serriiiously solid advice useful to diffuse arguments in relationships at work and home. MORE ABOUT THIS AWESOME GUY! Patrick Bozarth serves as the Executive Director of Community Counseling Center, and is also a mental health and substance use treatment counselor. Patrick earned a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles and was awarded the distinguished honor of being the first-ever graduate to earn a specialization degree in the field of LGBT psychology and counseling, in addition to being the first recipient of the Sandra L. Golvin Memorial Scholarship for LGBT affirmative psychology. Over the past several years, he has gained extensive clinical experience working with a wide range of populations in outpatient and in-home care, case management and group counseling. Patrick currently serves as a member of the Ryan White Executive Planning Council and the SAPTA Advisory Board, and in 2015, he launched the Nellie Bly Leadership Society, the first of its kind initiative focused on increasing awareness of mental health care in Nevada through education and advocacy. Prior to becoming a counselor in 2005, Patrick worked for three years in non-profit development and fundraising for Outfest: The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and also as the Director of Development for Zen Village Holistic Wellness Institute, located in Coconut Grove, Florida. Patrick has an extensive background in volunteer work related to healthcare and the LGBT community, including: the Human Rights Campaign, Project Angle Food, AIDS Project Los Angeles, Mama’s Kitchen San Diego, Flying Samaritans medical outreach care and The Special Olympics of Southern California.
