Brigid and Elizabeth chat all things fall refresh, the merits of the word y'all during the fall season, the hazards of bringing the actual outdoors in (bugs! Stick to purchasing the outdoor look!) and the general idea of keeping your fall decor cozy, textured, layered, and ultimately, true to your own style. And also, let's be honest, the decor is for you, not your kids!PS. Elizabeth's big confession: she's never put up a Christmas tree or really decorated for holidays! Listen along as she learns from the holiday refresh maven, Brigid! Think Fall Harvest vs Halloween.  The more natural, the better. Focus on textures and cozy feeling items. Throws, fuzzy pillows, fall-scented candles, fires, etc. Bring the outdoors in-gourds and pumpkins, in whatever colors feel natural to your space, will provide the seasonal feeling without appearing too commercial or overdone. Acorns, branches, darker colored florals and other organize elements are fabulous additions-but learn from us and don't forage for them, as you'll also be welcoming a whole slew of bugs into your home with your beautiful display…

I'm spiritual.  Just crass and irreverent, but spiritual.”  -ElizabethBrigid and Elizabeth discuss their recent getaways, which could not possibly be more different. From impromptu Whitney Houston dance parties by the pool at a family resort to a weekend of spiritual growth with spa treatments and luxury bedding, the gals break down the merits of both types of trips. Brigid's family, all 19 of them, took a weekend trip to Nemacolin, a luxury resort in Pennsylvania. With the ability to rent a large home and indulge in the resort's amenities, their trip was perfect for a family that spans all ages. With their own s'mores-perfect fire pit, a stellar pool, zip lines and ropes courses, a top-notch spa, and even a zoo, Nemacolin has something for everyone. Including those wishing to dance to some Whitney poolside. Elizabeth parlayed a work trip into a quick getaway with girlfriends to Miraval in Austin, Texas where the aim was decidedly more relaxing and spiritual. Elizabeth might have been a touch hesitant to place her phone in its resort-provided sleeping bag but she certainly partook in the spa and wellness classes on offer. Aside from walking meditation classes and poolside lounging, the highlight of the trip was perhaps the otherworldly bedding situation.
