In this compelling episode, we sit down with Christopher James, a two-time contestant on the hit TV show Naked and Afraid. Christopher shares his inspiring story of overcoming challenges, both physical and emotional, and finding healing through vulnerability. Christopher, a native Canadian, teaches survival skills handed down to his family. These skills are why he was recruited for Naked and Afraid. His first experience was cut short due to a blister that eventually led to a blood infection, which opened the door to inner healing. As someone who had faced bullying as a child, losing the challenge brought up old wounds. However, Christopher was overwhelmed by the support of the show's fans, who rallied around him, even signing a petition to bring him back. This experience taught him the power of community and resilience. On his second attempt, Christopher returned to Naked and Afraid in Africa with a new perspective and successfully completed the challenge, even taking out a highly venomous snake. What made this journey even more impactful was that his team consisted of all men, and together, they broke down walls of toxic masculinity by supporting each other throughout the challenge. Christopher shares how this experience taught him the importance of vulnerability and how it has transformed his life beyond the show. Since the show, Christopher has continued to teach survival skills to his lion pride, and he has created merchandise with proceeds going to charities close to his heart. Nicole speaks of her experience within the container of romantic relationships. How her past has shaped her beliefs and the impact those beliefs have had throughout her dating life. It's been a journey of genuinely looking at the patterns she has and learning what works and what no longer serves. At one point Nicole was able to observe herself in a relationship doing all the things she didn't want to do. Behaviors that she knew wouldn't get the results she was looking for but she couldn't stop herself - it was like watching a train wreck! Awarness was only the first step in an ongoing healing process which began when that relationship broke her heart wide open. This opening was the catalyst for self-reflection, self-discovery, and growth. *This episode just scratches at the surface of all she has learned. www.wisehumanpodcast.com @wisehumanpodcast facebook.com/wisehumanpodcast/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wise-human/support
