My wife and I recently celebrated our 15-year anniversary… and it's incredible to think about the changes we've gone through. I share some advice for younger listeners about life and marriage. We're in the heart of earnings season—and a ton of big names are reporting this week. I explain why McDonald's (MCD) and PepsiCo (PEP) are trading near 52-week highs… and why you shouldn't expect prices on your favorite products to come down anytime soon. The Fed is set to hike interest rates next week and many investors think it will be the last time—but I disagree. I explain why I expect several more rate hikes over the next few months… and why anyone predicting rate cuts later this year is nuts. Next, I break down the positives and negatives in yesterday's earnings from Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT). The biggest news for Microsoft came from the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which killed its deal to buy Activision Blizzard (ATVI). I explain why the CMA's move could be retaliation for a recent U.S. policy move… and why investors should be concerned about the government's growing intervention across multiple industries, especially energy and crypto. On tomorrow's episode of WSU Premium, Daniel and I will dig deeper into Microsoft's dead Activision deal and the growing tensions between world governments. We'll also discuss the government's attack on crypto… and how “de-dollarization” will create a major shift in global power. Don't miss the episode—join WSU Premium now. In this episode What I've learned from 15 years of marriage [0:20] Why MCD and PEP are near 52-week highs [2:50] The Fed isn't done hiking rates [5:00] GOOG is buying back $70 billion in stock [8:13] A great hedge against inflation[15:08] Is the U.K. punishing MSFT for the U.S.'s actions? [16:03] Don't miss tomorrow's WSU Premium [34:00] My wife and I recently celebrated our 15-year anniversary… and it's incredible to think about the changes we've gone through. I share some advice for younger listeners about life and marriage. Sponsor: Art makes a great hedge against inflation... Panelists Kim Forrest and John Freeman talk Microsoft (MSFT) earnings that topped analyst expectations. The tech giant had an impressive quarter, delivering double-digit annual growth across multiple categories. In fact, it's a strong quarter to cap off a series of strong financial quarters. The company seems to be accelerating, riding a tailwind that could last for a while, says Freeman, due to its role within the cloud space and gaming following news Microsoft plans to acquire the video game maker Activision Blizzard (ATVI).

Metaverse Stocks may be the best stock to buy for inflation in 2022. With the smaller tech stocks and most altcoins getting crushed right now, the best option may come in the form of tech giants like Microsoft ($MSFT) who just acquired Activision Blizzard ($ATVI). Or Maybe Apple ($AAPL) a company that is already dominating the mobile gaming, and huge part of the metaverse, market and is soon going to be making a play in AR/VR. Are you going to buy these kinds stocks as your answer to inflation in 2022?
I (Daniel) am behind the mic this week as Frank conducts some boots-on-the-ground research into some of his latest ideas. Microsoft (MSFT) is buying gaming giant Activision Blizzard (ATVI) for around $70 billion. I highlight some details around the merger… Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's incredible deal-making track record… and how this deal sets up Microsoft to become a massive player in the metaverse trend. [1:35] And Microsoft isn't alone… The world's largest companies are all investing heavily in the metaverse. In fact, Frank just released his 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) , which includes several stocks set to benefit from this massive growth trend over the coming years. [15:40] I explain why MSFT is a great long-term investment… and why I see a potential arbitrage opportunity in ATVI right now. [16:45] As inflation continues to move higher, so does crude oil—it just hit a seven-year high. I break down the current geopolitical risks to the sector… why investors should brace for oil prices to continue rising… and a few names set to profit from higher crude prices. 1. Markets are trying to rebound from yesterday's stock market rout. Either way, this market is in a fragile state even if it does catch a near term bid. This Friday is options expiration for January so there is certainly a chance.2. Yesterday, Microsoft (MSFT) announced a buyout of Activision Blizzard (ATVI) for $95.00 a share in cash. So while it sounds great on the surface, Activision (ATVI ) stock is trading at around $82 a share. This tells me this deal is not a lock and there could be something that goes wrong. The deal may not get regulatory approval the way Activision (ATVI) stock is acting. 3. Gold futures(GC) are very strong today. Silver is also on fire for a 2nd day in a row. Up 2%. A lot of resistance at $24 on the daily chart. Gold futures up $25 today. 4. Bitcoin is down today. Weak holders, young people are holding and hodling. The real test is $35k.
