Last week's jobs print showing 23,000 in job losses is something Kevin Hincks doesn't see as a huge concern as investors gear up for another key week of economic data. It comes as signs the macro is "not working for the overall market." As for the U.S. and Iran, Kevin talks about how crude oil prices don't create many headaches despite disruption in the Strait of Hormuz. He then turns to equities by discussing Apple's (AAPL) downgrade from Jefferies and Intel's (INTC) $15 billion share sale. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. In this episode of The Canadian Macro Investor Podcast, Simon and Dan break down the latest Fed decision and why the bond market may be starting to challenge Kevin Warsh’s inflation message. They discuss the split reaction across the yield curve, with short-term yields moving differently than longer-term yields, and what that could mean for inflation, recession risk and future rate hikes. They also look at Canada’s population data problem and why undercounting temporary residents could distort unemployment, mortgage delinquency trends and the broader read on the Canadian economy. From there, they dig into big tech earnings, including Microsoft and Meta, and why investors are paying closer attention to AI capex, free cash flow, depreciation, and credit default swaps across the hyperscalers. They also discuss Anthropic, open-weight AI models, data privacy concerns, tariffs, copper demand, and what the AI infrastructure build-out could mean for energy and markets. He argues recent swings in stocks like Apple (AAPL), Micron (MU), Marvell (MRVL), and AMD (AMD) create opportunities for long-term investors rather than reasons for concern.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – https://twitter.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/schwab-network/ About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

Melissa Otto and Morningstar's William Kerwin break down Apple's (AAPL) latest challenges as supply chain constraints weigh on the company's outlook. Otto says those pressures could persist as hyperscalers continue investing heavily in AI infrastructure, with elevated capital spending expected through 2027 and into 2028. Kerwin argues that any Apple price increases should be viewed in the context of years of inflation, noting the company could offset the next two years of memory cost inflation with a one-time price hike while still remaining near pre-pandemic pricing trends.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Lyndsay Hoy, MD, was just beginning her first week of anesthesia residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania when she was received a life-altering diagnosis: lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), a rare and progressive lung disease that predominantly affects women of childbearing age. Diagnosed within 36 hours of experiencing symptoms, Hoy embarked on a journey defined by the dual roles of clinician and patient — a dynamic that profoundly influenced every aspect of her life. From her marriage to fellow physician Vincent Hoy, to her decision to pursue IVF and embryo preservation, to her advocacy for rare disease patients, and her leadership as Chief Mission Officer of The LAM Foundation, her experiences have shaped her path and purpose. In this episode, Hoy speaks with host Mike Sacopulos about the challenges of managing an invisible illness while navigating a demanding clinical career and the structural inequities that determine who gets diagnosed and treated for rare diseases. She also reflects on a chapter she co-authored with her husband for AAPL's recent book on dual-physician marriage. The High cost of investing – how to keep more of what you make The tech trade is in tatters – chips entering correction. Earnings rolling in – investors seeing both sides of the story. And our guest this week – Tom McClellan of the McClellan Market Report. NEW! DOWNLOAD THE AI GENERATED SHOW NOTES (Guest Segment) Tom McClellan is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point where he studied aerospace engineering, and he served as an Army helicopter pilot for 11 years. He began his own study of market technical analysis while still in the Army, and discovered ways to expand the use of his parents‘ indicators to forecast future market turning points. Tom views the movements of prices in the financial market through the eyes of an engineer, which allows him to focus on what the data really say rather than interpreting events according to the same “conventional wisdom” used by other analysts. In 1993, he left the Army to join his father in pursuing a new career doing this type of analysis. Tom and Sherman spent the next 2 years refining their analysis techniques and laying groundwork. In April 1995 they launched their newsletter, The McClellan Market Report, an 8 page report covering the stock, bond, and gold markets, which is published twice a month. They utilize the unique indicators they have developed to present their view of the market‘s structure as well as their forecasts for future trend direction and the timing of turning points. A Daily Edition was added in February 1998 to give subscribers daily updates on their indicators and also provide market position indications for stocks, bonds and gold. Their subscribers range from individual investors to professional fund managers. Tom serves as editor of both publications, and runs the newsletter business from its location in Lakewood, WA.
