Eric Criscuolo, Market Strategist at the NYSE, recaps a week where markets pulled back as Tech lost steam and defensive sectors gained ground. The Fed cut rates as expected, but Chair Powell's hawkish tone cooled hopes for further easing. Political headlines added uncertainty, with Democrats outperforming on Election Day and the Supreme Court questioning Trump-era tariffs. M&A activity surged, led by Kimberly Clark's $50B bid for Kenvue and a pharma bidding war between Pfizer and Novo Nordisk. Investors now look ahead to key earnings, economic data, and the impact of the government shutdown as the year-end trading calendar tightens.

ITPM Flash provides insight into what professional traders are thinking about in the markets RIGHT NOW! Defense stocks are booming in 2025 — and Huntington Ingalls ($HII) might be the biggest winner of them all. In this episode of ITPM Flash, Dieter Plas presents a long idea on Huntington Ingalls Industries ($HII) — America's largest military shipbuilder and a cornerstone of U.S. defense infrastructure. With rising geopolitical tensions, a $50B+ backlog, and new post-COVID contracts that restore pricing power and margins, Dieter explains why HII offers compelling earnings optionality even in a messy macro environment. He walks through the company's fundamentals, margin recovery, cost-cutting efficiencies, and outlines a calendar spread options trade designed to capture both credit income and upside potential into year-end.
On The Alan Sanders Show, Ep 195, we unpack President Trump's triumphant Israel-Gaza ceasefire—Phase One hostages home, Phase Two dismantling Hamas and rebuilding with $50B in Gulf funds—flipping the Middle East to America's side and teeing up economic pressure on China to cut Russia's Ukraine war lifeline via OPEC oil. Then, the ultimate irony: NY AG Letitia James indicted for bank fraud and false statements on her Virginia mortgage, where she's harbored her fugitive grandnieces with criminal records. The documents don't lie and that's why a Grand Jury indicted her? Tune in for another show where Alan connects the dots and shows us what's really happening inside American politics. In “Private Fleet Net Zero: The Deadhead is Dead”, Joe Lynch and Russell Jones, CEO & Co-founder of Private Fleet Net Zero, discuss how PFNZ is using AI to eliminate the deadhead of private fleets, turning empty miles into profitable, superior capacity while simultaneously driving significant progress toward net zero. About Russ Jones Russell Jones co-founded Private Fleet Net Zero to help the 45% of trucks that are in Private Fleets with usually empty backhauls find loads from $50B+ of 3PL freight spend, leveraging his leadership of Cargo Chief, which enables 1,200+ 3PL buyers with $8B+ of spend to buy transportation capacity more profitably. Previously, Mr. Jones co-founded and led two cloud-based physical security firms. He was also the founding CEO of Clearvox Communications, which pioneered the market for cellular phone headsets, which he sold to Plantronics. Beforehand at Adaptec, Mr. Jones doubled a $50M channel products business to $100M. Mr. Jones has been awarded 10 patents, and holds a BSBA with highest honors from Boston University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. About Private Fleet Net Zero Private Fleet Net Zero, PFNZ, is uniquely aggregating 10,000s of trucks with 1,000s of lanes of underutilized, underpriced, theft-free and superior private and dedicated fleet trucking capacity and matching via multi patent-pending technologies and artificial intelligence to $10Bs of freight spend registered on our cloud-based platform, while generating a compelling client ROI. Our network is quickly and efficiently growing both fleets and 3PLs on PFNZ, which is on a path to save 30M+ tree equivalents. Key Takeaways: Private Fleet Net Zero: The Deadhead In “Private Fleet Net Zero: The Deadhead is Dead”, Joe Lynch and Russell Jones, CEO & Co-founder of Private Fleet Net Zero, discuss how PFNZ is using AI to eliminate the deadhead of private fleets, turning empty miles into profitable, superior capacity while simultaneously driving significant progress toward net zero. The Death of the Deadhead: The core problem PFNZ addresses is the massive inefficiency of empty backhauls ("deadhead"), which characterizes nearly 45% of the total US trucking capacity operated by private fleets. The episode explains how eliminating this waste is the key to both operational profit and environmental sustainability. The $10B Capacity Solution: PFNZ is uniquely aggregating tens of thousands of private fleet trucks, transforming previously unused lanes into a powerful network. This new capacity is highly desirable to buyers, described by PFNZ as "underpriced, theft-free, and superior." AI-Driven Efficiency: Russ Jones details how multi-patent-pending technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are essential to the solution. The AI efficiently matches this newly aggregated capacity with the $10Bs of freight spend from 3PLs registered on their platform. The Sustainability ROI: The episode connects logistics efficiency directly to environmental impact. By eliminating empty miles, PFNZ is on a path to save the equivalent of 30 million+ trees, demonstrating that net-zero goals can be achieved through fundamental changes in transportation economics. Unlocking New Profit Centers: For private fleet operators, the partnership generates a "compelling client ROI" by turning what was a sunk-cost (the empty backhaul) into a profitable revenue-generating leg, fundamentally changing the economics of fleet ownership. A Proven Disruptor at the Helm: Russ Jones brings a deep history of tech entrepreneurship and market disruption, having pioneered the cellular headset market (Clearvox/Plantronics) and successfully built cloud-based physical security firms. His decade of experience leading Cargo Chief provides the foundation for integrating private fleet capacity with the existing 3PL freight market. Leveraging Existing Market Structures: The platform's success is built on Jones's knowledge of the brokerage world, leveraging his previous experience at Cargo Chief, which currently enables over 1,200 3PL buyers with more than $8 billion in annual spend, ensuring rapid adoption and integration. Tuesday, September 30th, 2025 - Trump-Bibi Gaza plan; YouTube pays Trump $22M; EA's Kushner-Saudi buyout; Bad Bunny Super Bowl; Gov't shutdown looms Today's Headlines: Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump stood at the White House to unveil a 20-point Gaza peace plan that starts with a 72-hour ceasefire and hostage release, phases out Israeli troops, and sets up a Trump-chaired “Board of Peace” with Tony Blair (yep, that Tony Blair). Hamas hasn't signed on yet. Meanwhile, details emerged about the Michigan church shooter—Trump called it a “targeted attack on Christians,” but the guy was actually a hardcore Trump fan with a Trump flag and merch. Oregon and Portland are suing to block Trump's National Guard deployment, YouTube is paying him $22M to settle his suspension lawsuit (funds earmarked for a White House ballroom, naturally), and EA might get scooped up by Jared Kushner, Saudi Arabia, and private equity for $50B. Missouri just locked in a gerrymandered map for Trump's benefit, Moldova's pro-EU party scored a decisive win despite Russian meddling, and Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl halftime show—get ready for Fox & Friends meltdowns. How many more times can we report on a week in tech that changed the world? But here we go again…. We just had a week in Silicon Valley where everything, supposedly, changed. At least according to Keith Teare, publisher of the tech That Was the Week weekly newsletter. But last week really really was a special week, Keith insists. It was the week when AI became an actor. When it broke all our traditional software assumptions by becoming an actor, not an app. It was the week AI entered what Keith calls its 'Stone Age' - the moment machines finally got their own tools and began using spreadsheets, databases, and documents without being explicitly told to. If Keith is right, we're about to live in a world where toys talk back to children and cars introduce themselves to their new owners. Yes, AI is in the earliest stages of learning to think for itself. It was, indeed, just another historic week in Silicon Valley.1. AI Has Crossed the Tool-Use ThresholdThis week marked AI's transition from being a tool humans use to becoming an independent actor that chooses and uses its own tools. ChatGPT can now autonomously access spreadsheets, databases, and documents - Keith compares this to humanity's leap from the Stone Age to the Tool Age.2. OpenAI's $500B Valuation Isn't Crazy - It's StrategicDespite seeming absurd, OpenAI's path from $50B to $500B valuation in 18 months follows classic tech playbook: prioritize growth over early profits ("early profit is mismanagement"), focus on 90% gross margins, and build the biggest possible "money printing machine" before optimizing for profitability.3. Software and Hardware Are Being RedefinedWe're moving toward a world where software becomes invisible - delivered through conversational interfaces rather than visual apps - and hardware becomes interactive through embedded AI. Think toys that talk back to children and cars that introduce themselves to owners.4. Creative Generalists Will Thrive, Specialists Are at RiskAI threatens specialists with rule-based skills (consultants, certain scientists) but enhances "audacious" creative generalists who can think outside the box. AI excels as a servant or co-pilot but can't yet replace original thinking or path-breaking creativity.5. We're Entering an Age of AI EmbeddednessThe future isn't about using AI apps - it's about living in a world where AI is embedded in physical objects and environments, making the entire world interactive. This represents a fundamental shift from digital interfaces to ambient intelligence.Keen On America is a reader-supported publication. If you're out there grinding with no past performance, no big contracts, and no traction—this episode is your wake-up call. I break down the exact strategy I used in 2008 to go from zero to six figures by leveraging the consultant model—a proven shortcut to skip the five-year contract cycles and piggyback off other companies' capabilities. We're not here to chase $25k crumbs—we're here to build real wealth, and it starts with thinking differently. I even brought in insight from Dan Peña, who used this same model to build a $50B empire from scratch. In this episode, I walk you through the math, the mindset, and the mechanics of becoming a government consultant. Whether you want to get a piece of a $5M contract or land one high-ticket client and represent them in the federal space, I'll show you why this is the fastest path to revenue. You bring the hustle, they bring the past performance—and both of you win. I'm not teaching theory here. This is the exact model I followed, and it's the one I want you to adopt. US President Donald Trump threatened an additional tariff on China if Beijing didn't remove its retaliatory duties on US exports. The latter brought its own 34% tariff increase on the United States in response to Trump's tariff announcement last week.
