Breath is the foundation of life, the doorway to multidimensionality, and how you breath determines how you feel on this human journey. Betrayal leads to a loss of trust, a loss of control, and a loss of flow. Breathwork is a tool that can help you regulate and calm your nervous system, relax and accept the present moment, and feel better fast. The choice is yours: You can either stumble through the forest or can find a path that will lead you through more easily. Let Breathwork be that path! Top take-a-ways: Understanding why all emotions have value and how to learn to trust your breath so you can relax and recover after infidelity or other emotional trauma. Why every breath you take is either reinforcing negative emotional experiences or creating positive ones, and how to consciously repattern your life experience using breath. How to move through and process the emotional backlog of bitterness, pain, and resentment post-betrayal. The truth of Freud's saying, “Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.” and the necessity of releasing the cellular memory of trauma if you want to heal. The secret reason we hold our breath, and how breath-holding is a suspension of life, a momentary death, where you don't want to move forward and face what's next. Remember, whatever posture you meet life with, is how life will meet you! And as Michael Blair says, “It's not about feeling better, it's about getting better at feeling.” But once you do, you will feel better! What kind of life do you want to create? R. This guy! I've known Christian for years, as a colleague and a friend and it was so nice catching up with him on today's episode! It was navigating the transition from living 10 years as a monk back into the "real world" that Christian began exploring breathwork as a means of integration and has devoted 15 years to his work as breathwork guide, facilitator, and student. In today's conversation we talk about his personal journey and the importance of taking responsibility for our lives in these very divisive and complicated times. We talk about the loss of connection with Spirit as the root of so many issues these days, and how to reconnect. He shares about his "theory of everything" and also shares many insights and inspiration form his time in the Monastary too! You can learn more about Christian's offerings and his online course on his website here. You can also connect with him on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. Episode Webpage. About R. Power Quotes From The Show "Plant medicine and breathwork are the top two methods that we use at Rythmia. The plant medicine is inherently the earth's way to usher in transformation and a new level of consciousness." - Christian Minson "Taking plant medicine is truly a soul contract. You are changing the neurological pathways in your brain. Yes, you can do that on a certain level by detoxing or attending motivational seminars and receive the essence of it but plant medicine is the deepest level of transformation and it sticks because you are rewiring your brain and making a soul contract. There is nothing else in the world that I have experienced, seen, or heard of that can do that." - Candice Marie-Fox "People have a concept of who they are in a labeled box. So, when they come to Rythmia and that box gets blow open and they finally have an awakening and see that they're so much more than that box they've put themselves in. The mastery is then going home and applying that awakening. However, once they go home, the real work starts as they have to apply that awakening to their thoughts, actions, and lifestyles in order to maintain and grow this realized awakening of who they are." - Christian Minson "Not every thought that comes into your head is necessarily yours. They could be guidance, intuition, or awareness for you to take the next step in your life." - Candice Marie-Fox "If you're dissatisfied with something in your life, it's because you're either thinking in the future or dwelling in the past. Breathwork will bring you back to the present because the only place where you can breathe is the present." - Christian Minson "We're all trying to get to a higher state of consciousness and getting involved in other people's energy will just lower our vibration. Don't take life too seriously; none of us get out of this alive and this is not the end. Our true home is that energy in heaven and it's so beautiful beyond belief. Sometimes we just get lost but once you drink the plant medicine, you're reminded to just be present, be a good person, and act from love. Literally let your thoughts, speech, and actions be in true alignment and the universe will act in your favor." - Candice Marie-Fox "Fear is the compass needle pointing north. Whatever you're the most afraid of, go in that direction. It's an uncomfortable sensation but it'll become easier to face that discomfort once you see the results. At this point in my Rythmia journey, I’ve already received a tremendous gift – I found my true purpose – but we’re still not done yet. Because we have two more incredible healers to meet in this episode: R. Christian Minson, the resident Director of the Breathwork Program at Rythmia Life Advancement Center, and Dr. Jeff McNairy, the Chief Medical Officer at Rythmia. Christian practices Transformational Breath, a practice that harnesses the power of your own innate healing capacity through cutting edge breathing techniques that access deeper amounts of life force energy, helping you to connect with yourself emotionally, physically, and spiritually. With Christian as your guide, the breathing brings you on insightful journeys that open you up to life changing events and shifts in consciousness. The results are meditative states of deep peace, energized enthusiasm for life, and an opening to the mystical realms of consciousness. It’s hard to believe that something so transformational can come from breath until you experience it, but it’s impossible to forget once you do. Christian was originally called to be a healer because he experienced the power of breathwork first hand – and if you listened to part one of my Rythmia journey, you can probably tell that this is a common theme here at Rythmia; the healed become the healers. And this is, at its essence, what Rythmia offers visitors: the opportunity to discover the light worker or light warrior essence within. Because when your light shines a bit brighter, you’re able to go out in the world and be of greater service. But this probably wouldn’t be possible or safe if it weren’t for Jeff McNairy, who has been working in the healthcare field for 25 years. He’s seen, over and over again, people struggling to heal because the current Western system of healthcare is simply deficient. It is more concerned with managing symptoms and prescribing “medicine” than healing. However, through working with some of the most intense patient populations – including those who struggle with addiction and trauma, like Rythmia co-founder Gerard Powell – he has seen that the only real healing can come from within; you have to find the root cause of your unhappiness, health concern, and discontent, then resolve it. And in working with Gerry and everyone else who has visited Rythmia since it opened, Jeff has seen that one plant medicine session conducted in a safe, clinically appropriate environment can be as effective as 10 years of psychotherapy. Like breathwork, it’s hard to believe that plant medicines can be so transformational – and then you experience it under the right conditions. It’s ancient modalities meeting modern psychology, all in the jungles of Costa Rica, and I invite you to come join me for the rest of this wild, profound, and emotional ride. Topics Discussed With Christian: What breathwork is & how it can help you in ways that yoga can’t Why Christian became a monk for a decade (and then made the transition back to being a worldly person) How the healers at Rythmia help visitors find the light warrior essence within them What separates Transformational Breath from the hundreds of other breathwork practices out there Rebirthing through breath Plant medicine and breathwork both open up the door to consciousness – but breathwork opens the door and gently beckons you in while plant medicine grabs you and shoves you through the doorway The benefits of integrating a natural habitat into your spiritual experiences How breathwork works with plant medicine to evolve your experience & help you claim it as your own Topics Discussed With Jeff: How the staff at Rythmia ensures that the plant medicine experience is safe for everyone involved A lot of what we call mental illness is just people in pain without any way to process that pain Using a drug to get off drugs (AKA why plant medicine is so effective for treating addiction) How it it possible that I had a psychedelic experience and, now, feel even more committed to being sober? (Trust me, that would never happen after a bump of coke...) When Jeff first met Gerry, who was then a very different person than the person you met in the last episode, and their transformational entré into the world of plant medicines The difference between iboga and ayahuasca, experientially and physically A common thread of trauma that has rippled throughout my life, especially my romantic life How the plant medicine helps you work through your own trauma and start the healing process We can’t connect with other people until we get connected with ourselves Why Rythmia accepts people who are shunned or devalued in many Western medical facilities due to their particular mental illness What science is starting to learn about the pineal gland & DMT How a dog helped me find God The three intentions that will help you find everything you’re looking for at Rhythmia More about this episode. Most of us don't breathe correctly and actually many of us breathe at just 20% of our capacity. Oxygen is our number one energy source and it's what drives every cell. If we're not filling our bodies with the maximum amount of oxygen that it can use, then we're basically only giving our bodies enough oxygen to simply get by in the day. That's why people are chronically fatigued or feel like life is such a chore. They find everything so hard to do because we're leaving 80% of the potential energy that we could be running our lives with on the table. - Christian Minson JOIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP | REVIEW THIS PODCAST 20% OFF ORGANIFI - USE CODE: WELLNESSFORCE When was the last time you truly focused on your breath? Power Quotes From The Show "The whole purpose of life is our own evolution and self-realization. The way to get there is by developing a direct relationship to our spirit and the way to do that is through techniques of meditation such as breath manipulation." - @BreathFlow http://bit.ly/wfpodcast "Breathing keeps us alive and that's a pretty fundamental reason for us to breathe. I think it's such an important reason to breathe, but that's where people stop and go, 'Okay, breath equals life. Breath is what keeps us alive so that's the purpose of our breathing.' But then we discount the idea that there's the possibility for any more reason other than that. However, if you really start working with the breath and working with oxygenating the body and actually bringing more lifeforce into your being, it's not only sustaining your life, but it elevates and evolves your life too." - Christian Minson "As monks, we were doing modified forms of breathing without really focusing on the breath. So one of the liabilities of that lifestyle was that we kind of discounted our physical being in pursuit of our spiritual dimension. What I love about breathwork is that not only does it reinforce that we are spiritual beings, but that we are actually physical beings too. Therefore, breath and movement work together in harmony. As spiritual beings having a physical experience, there's a route back to our spirit, but there has to be a physical gateway into that and that is the breath." - Christian Minson "Despite the fact that breath is a foundational tool to our whole evolution, still very few people actually know about it. So, people come to Rythmia primarily for the plant medicine and to have this experience. More people know or understand plant medicine much more than they know about breath. So to hold plant medicine and breath in such equal esteem and have people experience both, our guests get to experience and learn about the benefits of breathwork firsthand." - Christian Minson "Both breathwork and plant medicine are tools that open the doors of our consciousness. The difference is that the breath opens that door gently and invites you in. The plant medicine opens that door and pulls you in and won't let you out till it wants you out." - Christian Minson Links From Today's Show Rythmia Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube Christian Minson Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube LinkedIn Breathflow Wellness The Reality of Truth The 5 Habits of Highly Spiritual People Developing Your Intuition to Improve Your Life and Decision Making John Gray Good genes are nice, but joy is better Be Here Now by Ram Dass Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda Use Breathwork Techniques to Boost Your Mental State Breathwork for Clearing Trauma from the Body Breathwork - GoodTherapy.org WFR 137 Dr. Tim Brown WFR 149 Johnny Blackburn [spacer height="20px" id="2"] About Christian Minson Christian Minson is an International Speaker, Best-Selling Contributing Author, Trainer, Coach, and Founder of Breathflow Wellness, a transformational holistic health business.
