What do you do with a mega-famous influential billionaire who says she's a Christian... but denies the core beliefs of Christianity? Instead, she believes in the divinity of humanity, the power of affirmations, the ability to speak and think things into existence, and that all religions lead to God and much more. Isn't she a New Ager, then? No. In this video, my goal is to explain why. In this video, I'm taking a deep dive into the episode behind a well-known clip of Oprah that's been widely shared in Christian circles. It's sparked a lot of discussion about her beliefs and where they stand in relation to Christianity. But I believe there's more to this clip than what's on the surface.I go over the majority of the episode, show what you didn't see, analyze Oprah and the panel's beliefs, and explore the spiritual questions raised, giving a lot of commentary on what I would consider to be unrecognized New Thought beliefs. This is not just about Oprah or another "Oprah EXPOSED" video. This is about something bigger—a set of beliefs that isn't going anywhere and I promise you at some point in your Christian walk, you'll be confronted with these arguments and beliefs this panel puts forth. I want you to be equipped. On top of this, I also give some (maybe) unpopular opinions about the interaction between Oprah and an outspoken audience member. I thought this would be a shorter video, but… that just didn't happen. Even for how long this turned out, I still could have spent another hour (or more) analyzing this episode and the clip in question.

Send us a textThroughout their multi-decade tenure in vocational ministry, predominantly as lead pastors, Bryan and Haley Jarrett have come to the conclusion: Haley prefers the shadows to the spotlight. She's uncomfortable with platform ministry and, despite her many efforts to "grow into the part", has come to recognize that she is called to her husband, and not quite as much to the traditional roles with which the title of "pastor's wife" has often been culturally linked. Cultural expectations, Bryan reminds us, are not Scriptural expectations. In this episode both Bryan and Haley join host Bridgette Tomlin to discuss unhealthy demands, the conversations ministry couples should be having privately, and how to promote women in leadership roles without demeaning those who thrive behind-the-scenes.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Abuse, abandonment, and addiction defined Bryan's early life. After meeting Jesus, God's grace not only dealt with his sin, but also began to heal the hurts of his past. This experience with grace forged in him a passion for broken people. Pastor Bryan serves in leadership roles in multiple universities, missions agencies, church planting networks, and global financial institutions. He has a B.A., an M.A., and an earned Doctorate. He is an author and sought-after speaker, both in the U.S. and internationally. In 2015, he and Haley founded Lonesome Dove Ranch, a place of healing for abused children and a place of rest and resourcing for America's small-town pastors.According to Bryan, his most honorable professional title is being called “Pastor” by the great people of Northplace Church. Pastor Bryan is married to his high school sweetheart, Haley. They have three young adult children. In August, Bryan and Haley became grandparents for the first time to grandson, Lincoln James Jarrett.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Connect with today's guests, Bryan and Haley:Haley IG: @hjarrettBryan: @drbryanjarrettFeatured: Learn about Let's RetreatListen to Pastor Bryan's message at the CMN Conference.Learn about Lonesome Dove RanchMany thanks to our host, Bridgette Tomlin, and engineer Justin Lynn of Justin Lynn Music. In a world which trumpets the anti-biblical message of “you do you” and walking in “your truth,” it can be easy for Bible-believing Christians to swing to the opposite extreme of assuming anything we're passionate about comes from love of self or can't be trusted.  But the Bible makes it very clear that God directs our paths and has very specific purposes for our lives.  And when we walk in them confidently, we honor Him.  Even so, it can be easy to question the path He has for us when we encounter naysayers and critics who are quick to point out our faults. Does this mean we simply ignore them or capitulate to their demands?  I believe the answer is more nuanced. In this episode, we talk about setting our faces like flint toward the will of our Father while being willing to adjust when someone has a legitimate concern. It's a balance and one we will only strike well by being rooted in God's Word and listening to His Holy Spirit.  Sponsor Info: Voetberg Music Academy Check out Voetberg Music Academy Here Code: misformama20 Check out Christianbook.com Bible References: Romans 5:5 Psalm 119:105 Jeremiah 17:9 Deuteronomy 31:6 Links: M Is for Mama Penny Reward System Leave a Review for the M is for Mama Show Paint & Prose Pre-Order Hard Is Not the Same Thing as Bad M Is For Mama Chore Guide M Is For Mama Meal Plan Sign-Up Find Abbie at: Instagram YouTube Facebook

Ever wondered how you'll make it through your day of work or homeschooling after a night of fractured sleep? Ever felt completely stuck in a hard situation, without a clear path to a solution?  Ever wished someone wise would just write you a step-by-step solution to a sticky situation so you can love forward? The truth is, we rarely receive enlightenment or next steps in the way we hope we will. Instead, the Lord asks us to simply keep taking steps forward, doing the next needful thing.  A truth God is teaching me very clearly in the season in which I find myself is one many of you need to hear as well, I believe: Sometimes, you don't wonder how you'll do it, “You just do” it. Has God ever answered, "No" to one of your prayer requests? Did you have a hard time accepting when God's answer was "No." I don't know about you, but I think that is a really hard one when we pray fervently, and God does not answer with the way we want him to. I remember that with my friend, we were praying for a miracle for her to be healed, but sadly she wasn't. It was really hard to accept that "No". I am excited to have Hadassah Treu on the podcast this week because she is going to share her story of a time when she had to accept when God answered, "No." I think it is a very powerful episode. Her book is called *Draw Near: How Painful Experiences Become the Birthplace of Blessings. You do not want to miss the truth Hadassah shares; there is so much goodness! Also, I am so excited for someone to win a copy of Hadassah's new book: *Draw Near.
