On the night of February 19, 2005, 34-year-old Danielle Imbo and 35-year-old Richard Petrone met up with friends at Abilene's, a bar in Philadelphia. By all accounts, they were having a great time, reconnecting after a breakup weeks prior. At around 11:45 p.m., they said their goodbyes and left the bar, planning to head to Danielle's home in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. But they never made it home. Despite extensive searches and years of investigative efforts, there has never been a single confirmed sighting of Danielle, Richard, or the truck. And after two decades, their families are still left asking the same question—what happened to Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone? 34-year-old Danielle Ottobre and 35-year-old Richard Petrone were last seen at around 11:45 p.m. on February 19, 2005, leaving Abilene's bar on South Street in Philadelphia. They were traveling in Richard's 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, which was black with a silver bottom portion, heading toward Danielle's home in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. At the time of her disappearance, Danielle, who is a white female, was 5'5" tall and weighed approximately 120 lbs. She had hazel eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a dark jacket, a cream sweater, and blue jeans. She also wore three small silver rings on her middle finger and carried a black purse. She has a tattoo of flowers on her lower back. Richard, who is a white male, was 5'9" tall and weighed approximately 200 lbs. He had blue eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray Polo sweatshirt. On his left arm is a tattoo with the word "Angela," and on his right is a tattoo of clowns.  If you have any information about Danielle and Richard's disappearance, please contact the Citizens Crime Commission tip line at 215-546-8477. Supreme Court Gun Case to Set Gun Control's Future

The Supreme Court is considering a challenge to New York's strict concealed-carry law that's primed to set a precedent which could shape the future of guns in the U.S. Gun-rights supporters want the court in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen to bless more permissive public carry. Gun control advocates worry about the implications of doing so. Cases and Controversies podcast hosts Kimberly Robinson and Jordan Rubin have spent months reporting on Bruen. And in this special edition, they explore the Nov. 3 argument and the signals the justices sent. This episode takes listeners into the courtroom and breaks down essential points. Attorneys, scholars, and others working on the case talk about what's at stake if the challengers prevail, as expected. First, a primer. Previous 5-4 rulings said the Second Amendment grants an individual right to have a gun in the home for self-defense, regardless of militia service. The amendment says, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Bruen raises the question of the scope of the right outside the home. At the argument, the justices probed the limits of their eventual ruling expected by July. "Can they say you cannot carry your gun at any place where alcohol is served?" Chief Justice John Roberts asked the challengers' lawyer, Paul Clement. "What about a football stadium?" Roberts pressed. While gun-rights advocates see fewer restrictions as vindicating the Second Amendment, gun control advocates worry about the consequences of more guns on the street. "If we were to now flood our cities with even more guns, I'm afraid that shooting rate will go up, that murder rate will go up, and we don't know what will happen to the everyday fights that take place in densely populated cities like New York if people are armed," said Richard Aborn, president of the Citizens Crime Commission of New York City. Everytown for Gun Safety, which advocates for universal background checks and gun-safety measures, is backed by Michael Bloomberg, founder and majority owner of Bloomberg News parent company Bloomberg LP. The group filed a brief at the Supreme Court supporting the New York restrictions.

QUESTION PRESENTED:This case presents a clear and intractable conflict regarding an important jurisdictional qNew York prohibits its ordinary law-abiding citizens from carrying a handgun outside the home without a license, and it denies licenses to every citizen who fails to convince the state that he or she has “proper cause” to carry a firearm. In District of Columbia v. Heller, this Court held that the Second Amendment protects “the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation,” 554 U.S. 570, 592 (2008), and in McDonald v. City of Chicago, the Court held that this right “is fully applicable to the States,” 561 U.S. 742, 750 (2010). For more than a decade since then, numerous courts of appeals have squarely divided on this critical question: whether the Second Amendment allows the government to deprive ordinary law-abiding citizens of the right to possess and carry a handgun outside the home. This circuit split is open and acknowledged, and it is squarely presented by this petition, in which the Second Circuit affirmed the constitutionality of a New York regime that prohibits law-abiding individuals from carrying a handgun unless they first demonstrate some form of “proper cause” that distinguishes them from the body of “the people” protected by the Second Amendment. The time has come for this Court to resolve this critical constitutional impasse and reaffirm the citizens' fundamental right to carry a handgun for self-defense. The question presented is: Whether the Second Amendment allows the government to prohibit ordinary lawabiding citizens from carrying handguns outside the home for self- defense.DateProceedings and Orders (key to color coding)Dec 17 2020 | Petition for a writ of certiorari filed.
