News: As we reported on previously, the new song for the 70th Anniversary of Disneyland will be called “Celebrate Happy.” What we just found out this week is that the Jonas Brothers will be performing the song! The Paint the Night dining package will be at the Plaza Inn on Main Street. The package is available from May 16th through August 21st from 1pm to 4pm daily. It is a lunch dining package, which is $55 per adult and $28 per child. The package includes lunch and a reserved seat for Paint the Night. Bookings began on March 25, so move quick if you are interested in this package. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/plaza-inn-dining-package/ DISNEYLAND UPDATE: Packed Parks, Show Shuttered & A Galaxy Too Far Another dining experience will start with the 70th on May 16th: Donald's Tale of Adventures at Storytellers Café. This is a dinner buffet from 4pm to 9pm and is $62 per adult, and $36 per child. The buffet is a “campfire style barbecue buffet” that will feature Donald, Daisy, Clarabelle, Goofy or Pluto in their new explorer outfits. The Nighttime Gathering will feature special takeaway items and a viewing location for “Fire of the Rising Moons” nighttime spectacular. The walls at EPCOT have been there for so long that we forget what it was like to wander freely without them. But that will be coming to an end soon. Was it all worth the wait and inconvenience?Take a photo with the new platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture in World Celebration, with Spaceship Earth as the backdrop. See the new mural at the heart of World Celebration and try to find as many Disney characters as you can (there are, of course, 100 of them). The large mural will be located along the walkway to World Showcase and will feature favorite Disney characters hidden throughout the various neighborhoods of EPCOT. The rest of World Celebration will also be decked out in Disney100 platinum banners and décor.Meet and greet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their platinum best in the Imagination! pavilion. Also, Spaceship Earth will light up each night with special colors and lights accompanied by the Disney100 anthem, a unique rendition of When You Wish Upon a Star. The Disney100 celebration will have four limited-time food and beverage locations during both the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! If you collect Disney popcorn buckets, there's a new purple metallic Mickey Balloon Premium Popcorn Bucket available only at EPCOT during Disney100.All of the Disney100 celebrations will have a limited time run from September 22 to December 31, 2023. --New ‘Disney Junior & Friends Playdate' Event Coming to Disneyland Resort August 18-20“Disney Junior & Friends Playdate,” is a three-day event celebrating the stories of Disney Junior's hit series created for preschoolers and their families at Disney California Adventure park on Friday, August 18, and at Downtown Disney on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20.  August 18 at Disney California Adventure park will feature: A Playdate Party Parade featuring Disney Junior characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Elena of Avalor, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Vampirina, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Goofy, Pluto, and Mira, Royal Detective. A special “Disney Junior Live! Queenie anchors the band for a New Orleans-inspired jazz show to add a little magic to evenings along Rivers of America.  Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band perform a musical tribute to New Orleans each evening on a themed raft as they float down the Rivers of America. This episode we’ve got something for the younger fans as we check out the recently shuttered Disney Junior - Live on Stage! at Disney California Adventure.  This guide map describes the show by saying, ’Sing and Dance with your favorite Disney Junior Characters!'  There are no age or height requirements for this show and each production lasts roughly 23 minutes. Before we visit Mickey and his friends, here are five fast facts about Disney Junior - Live on Stage! 1.  Disney Junior - Live on Stage! opened at Disney California Adventure on April 11, 2003 under the name Playhouse Disney Live.  The show replaced the ABC Soap Opera Bistro, a restaurant that featured sets from famous ABC Soap Operas. 2.   The original version of the show that opened in 2003 was the same as the Playhouse Disney Live show that was running at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.  It featured characters from Bear In The Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie, Stanley and The Book of Pooh. 3. Over the years, the show has featured characters from other Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior shows including Jojo’s Circus, Handy Manny and Little Einsteins.  The current iteration of the show that we’ll hear today features Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land Pirates. 4.  A team of six puppeteers are cast for each show and they manipulate over twenty different puppets of the various characters who interact with the show’s human host and the audience. 5. All the characters in the show are voiced by their original voice actors including Corey Burton doing his incredible version of Hans Conried’s Captain Hook.
