This episode is for my parent friends. You know how they say it takes a village to raise a family? Sometimes that village is a little bit more quiet and distant than we wish it would be, and with life looking SO dang different now than it did when we were growing up, our parenting methods have had to change significantly from what our parents practiced when we were young. In this episode, I am sharing 5 of my favorite ways to expose your kids to produce and encouraging a more open-minded eater (because we're not “creating” good eaters or breaking picky ones, we are encouraging an open mind).Books we are loving: I Eat A RainbowVegetables In UnderwearBilal Cooks DaalSoup DayMonsters Don't Eat BroccoliGoodnight VeggiesThe Silly Food BookTV Episodes to check out for healthy habits: Doc McStuffins season 1episode 14, 2nd half, “Bubble Monkey” Bluey season 1 episode 7 “BBQ” episode 49 “Asparagus”episode 69 “fancy restaurant” season 2 episode 7 “favourite thing”Mickey Mouse Clubhouse season 2 episode 19 “Mickey's Thanks a bunch day” Peppa pig, season 1 episode 34 “lunch” season 4 episode 45 “Fruit”Fruit Salad Game Rules: https://www.thegamegal.com/2011/04/30/fruit-basket-game/Potato Electricity Science Project: https://science.howstuffworks.com/innovation/everyday-innovations/how-to-make-potato-powered-light-bulb.htmULTIMATE LIST OF MEAL SEARCH TERMS FREEBIE: www.ashtincope.com/searchtermsEAT YOUR SEASONS CHILDREN'S BOOK WAITLIST: www.ashtincope.com/kidsbookLET'S BE FRIENDS ON INSTAGRAM: www.instagram.com/ashtincopeJOIN MY FREE SUMMER SEASONAL EATING CHALLENGE www.ashtincope.com/challenge

This week, Dr. Kim is talking with Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse! Bret Iwan has loved the legacy and story of Walt Disney for as long as he can remember, but never dreamt he would one day voice Walt's most iconic character, Mickey Mouse. Iwan decided to pursue his love of art at Ringling College of Art and Design. Shortly after, he moved to Kansas City, to begin a career at Hallmark Greeting Cards. After learning of auditions being held to understudy with the third voice of Mickey Mouse, Wayne Allwine, Iwan wasted no time submitting his high pitched performance. Since 2009, Iwan has been the official voice of Mickey Mouse, providing the famous falsetto for Disney theme parks around the world, video games, toys, promotional material, game shows, live shows, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2009-2016), Mickey and the Roadster Racers (2017-2019), Mickey's Mixed Up Adventures (2019), and Mickey Mouse Funhouse (2021) television series. When Iwan is not performing behind the microphone, he continues his passion for design, as well as wood working, restoration, and steam locomotive engineering. Since 2017, Iwan has worked as a steam mechanic, and engineer on several railroads, and is currently building his own steam locomotive, much like Walt Disney did. The opportunities presented by the role continue to surprise him, and he looks forward to “fillin' in for the boss” far into the future. Iwan resides in Los Angeles, California.
WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NOT CHECKED MY CHANNEL, BE SURE TO CHECK IT OUT! OTHERWISE, YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!! Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQFo8S5dUj16TJPuiRgwng Anyway, I have made a realization that all of my dumb animal characters may have entered our universe years and years and years ago before they were finally caught and were forced to do some acting as part of their web series. And yes, I call this "The Blimpy and Enzo Phenomenon." This is basically a part of our world centuries and centuries ago where Blimpy and Enzo and most of the other characters on my Youtube channel have made history, by making tons of pop culture references in many many eras, proof that they existed before ACNYC did. The top ones include: Blimpy and his establishment of Homer Simpson singing a song named after him twice, an inflatable suit from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and a Michigan restaurant called Blimpy Burger have made way for Blimpy to make more money than David Karp and Michelle Phan combined. Enzo and the establishment of a sushi restaurant in Québec, an SMG4 character, a DJ Snake song, and the birth of Enzo Ferrari have made way for him to go on The Price is Right and win a trip to Ferrari's gravesite. Otto's establishment of a pizza place in Portland, Maine and a 2001 PC game called Otto Matic caved the way for Otto to work formerly for Microsoft, then die, then come back to life after hearing Axel say he was gonna take him to a Petr Yan meet-and-greet. Axel's start of gaining the role of an elephant from Animal Crossing, a weirdo from Twisted Metal, and finally on the big screen in The Angry Birds Movie 2 gave him the opportunity to live in absolute wealth, even he still lives under a giant rock. Apple has only a few inspirations since he's named after a fruit, not the company, Applebee's, the character from Apple and Onion, or the Korean musical group Apple.B. Captain Necco's start of behaving like Captain Underpants and Major Man with the addition of NECCO Wafers, and Meowsles from Fortnite made him a WWE wrestler for 5 seconds. Blob's start of the Wii game De Blob, an amalgamation from FNAF Security Breach, and being an X-Men supervillain gave him nothing but a studio apartment. With a 3DO inside. The rest you learn later. The two of them discuss the Disney shows their son Angus watches (usually involving Mickey Mouse and Co.), and the lack of parental figures, especially mothers. The talk about the poor representation that is there, how that reflects on motherhood, and what messages that sends to children and parents alike. On a brighter note, they discuss good parental representation in the show, "Bluey" and what it means for the two of them.
After a quick recap of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Emily and Greg positively review the Willem Dafoe episode.
In this week's episode of the Craft Parenting Podcast, Joe and Caroline talk about what life is like chasing around two toddlers, now that their son, Elliot, is walking and all of the quirks of having two toddlers in the house. Plus, Caroline compares Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to Rocky Horror Picture Show (R.I.P. Meat Loaf) and Joe has a dad joke that will melt your heart. What We Are DrinkingCaroline's Drink: Peanut Butter Milk StoutWest Side Brewing - Westwood, OhioABV: 6.7%IBU: 32“Our Peanut Butter Milk Stout features aromas of chocolate, coffee, peanut butter, and a light roast note. A dash of oats is also used in the brew to provide a full malty body. The nutty peanut butter flavor works with the sweetness from the lactose to help soften the roastiness, which comes through mostly on the finish.”Joe's Drinks: Vienna LagerWest Side Brewing - Westwood, OhioABV: 5.5%IBU: 23“This traditional lager is a deep copper color with a white head. Malt flavors of bread crusts and caramel give way to a spicy floral hop note from a generous helping of German Hallertau hops. The finish is clean and on the dry side, making this beer great for multiple pints or pairing with meals.”Golden G.O.A.T.Samuel Adams - Boston, MAABV: 5.0%IBU: 20“Let the cheering begin! Golden G.O.A.T. is your craft champ from the fame whistle to overtime. That's a first! As a parent, especially SAHMs, we deal with a lot! Multitasking isn't a walk in the park, making lunches while bearing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse through the day, all day is no dream, doing chores while your toddler has a meltdown about something simple is a challenge, and it can be stressful! Yes, we were told it wasn't going to be easy but having kids-they bring us the utmost joy!! As Mother's, we are expected to do just about anything, but what about our sanity? What our selfcare? We NEED to keep up with our mental health, too, to handle the things that get thrown at us. And to have certain people tell us, "No! I never take MY child for granted," or "Than you're a bad Mom" makes us feel so tiny and like we are bad moms or our worth isn't enough! Those people who put their 2 cents in like that, is why it's hard to take care of ourselves, ask for help, and think we need to do it all and not do anything for ourselves. YOU ARE DOING GREAT, MAMA! IGNORE THE CLOSE-MINDED! THEY ARE IGNORANT AND HAVE NO SENSE OF VALUE! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

For decades, audiences of all ages have enjoyed Bill Farmer’s standout work in vehicles and venues as diverse as his talents - from clubs to conventions, broadcasts to podcasts, and TV screens to movie screens. What began in the standup comedy clubs of America’s heartland has become one of the most colorful careers in Hollywood, with a seemingly endless list of live and recorded performances engaging fans of every demographic. While Bill has famously performed as the official voice of Disney’s Goofy and Pluto since 1986, his sterling voice-acting resume includes thousands of leading and supporting roles in film, television, advertising, consumer products and more. For his unparalleled body of animation-voice work with such leading studios as Pixar, Warner Brothers, Universal and MGM, Bill became the first voice actor to receive the prestigious Friz Freleng Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Animation. Equally distinguished is the immortalizing Disney Legend Award (recognizing individuals whose unique talents have helped shape the Disney legacy), which Bill received with entertainment icons Robin Williams and Betty White. Further adding to Bill’s many honors is the 2015 Annie Award for best acting in a television series and an Emmy nomination for his memorable performances in the hit animated series “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” Bill can currently be seen on television in Disneys Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Amphibia, The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, and as host and executive producer on It’s a Dog’s Life with Bill Farmer on Disney Plus, to name a few. To help others reach their performance potential, Bill teaches voice-acting students, produces voice-actor demos and offers private coaching through his own production company, Toonhouse, Inc.

In this TGON podcast episode, I'm getting to combine my two loves in life: The Game of Nerds and childcare. For those who don't know, my day job is as a childcare coach and nanny for families in the San Francisco Bay Area. All my nanny kids know me as the nerdy nanny who is fluent in superheroes and television shows. Marie happens to be a fellow nanny and podcast co-host of sheNANNYgans Podcast. We sat down to chat about our love of and expertise in children's television. The pandemic has caused a lot of parents to lean on television to survive the day. This episode isn't to shame anyone or remind you of what the official research says about kids who watch tv. If anything, this episode is to give you more quality options and remind you of what's really important. After all, the most common question I'm asked is what are some good educational shows for my child to watch? Marie and I dive right in and talk about some of the shows that we grew up loving. We were children of the '90s so Nick Jr and Nickelodeon shows were staples. A lot of it was frankly slapstick comedy that went way over our heads. Blues Clues was about the only educational thing in there along with Teletubbies and Barney. But that's the sad reality of children's television choices today, there is an overwhelming amount of shows out there and only a few are actual gems. As a mother and nanny, I went into motherhood with the "no screen" mentality but that was quickly thrown out the window when the pandemic hit. The staples in our house are Sesame Street, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Bluey, and Daniel Tiger. The one thing I have become aware of since becoming a parent is which shows Marvel is watching vs how much she's watching. The choices though are endless and parents are overwhelmed. At the end of the day, it comes down to knowing your kid, their age, and what they need. Sometimes you need educational goodness and other times you need mindless garbage to escape it. Let's be real here when was the last time you watched an "educational" show? If you are looking for great education children's television shows, I've put together a great list for you. Sesame Street is always my go-to good show. With over 50 seasons, you seriously can't go wrong. We do discuss how scary the first few seasons are in terms of Big Bird's looks and how creepy Elmo was in the beginning. I express my love for Gonger and Monster Foodies. We also note how the new pop culture references and celebrities are getting parents hooked. I eventually convince Marie to check out The Late Show with Elmo, and she continues her rant about how The Count is the most underutilized character on the block. We talk about the pros and cons of HBO getting Sesame Street, and at least both agree that Sesame Street looks good with HBO money. If Sesame Street is my go-to show, PBS would be my go-to network. We have both the PBS video and game app downloaded and are huge fans. It is available to everyone and FREE, but it houses a lot of amazing series. Most of the television shows are based on book series, which could help foster good reading skills. Kids are more motivated to read and learn if it's with a character they enjoy. Some great series to watch are Molly of Denali, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum, Cat in The Hat, Arthur, Curious George, Super Why, Clifford, to name a few. There are some problem shows and questions we still can't answer after years of torture. Here are the highlights: Our problem with Toodles and how everyone is Mickey Mouse's bitch. Mickey if you want something done, do it yourself. Calliou, that whiny bitch. There is an understood rule in the nanny and parent world that Calliou is the absolute worst. He's whiny. He's horrible. Thank God he's canceled. Peppa Pig, just as annoying and whining as Calliou and frankly, looks like a penis. Cocomelon, we still don't understand the appeal of it.

Toby and Brooke discuss the Saved By The Bell episode "Dancing to the Max" (Season 1; Episode 1) from August 1989 guest starring the late great radio legend Casey Kasem. We talk about A.C. Slater's iconic dance routine, the incredibly cool music teacher at BHS, Zack and Jessie's bond of friendship, and Byron, the super-cool dude who dumps Lisa when she sprains her ankle. There's also a few sidebars about Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, sunrooms / solariums, skorts, and potty training our toddler.
The Front Cover and Phenom Media's Trey Wilkinson discusses the new NFL CBA Proposal, but not before a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse conspiracy theory! He then talks fake Andrew Wiggins trades, including a trade for JOEL EMBIID!
Good morning everybody! I was on with Ken and Matt. We had a good discussion about Privacy and Monitoring then we got into Kids and Smartphones and a study that says the issues are not as bad as we have been led to believe. Then it was onto the FBI and AG Barr vs Apple Encryption. So here we go with Ken and Matt. These and more tech tips, news, and updates visit - CraigPeterson.com --- Automated Machine Generated Transcript: Craig If you have a company phone, monitoring of it is likely because the company doesn't want it to be lost, and if it is, they want to be able to recover it. They want to keep their data safe, all reasonable things. But many companies are now tracking you when you are going outsourcing go to the coffee shop. Hello, everybody. Great Dieter song here. Glad you joined me. A lot of news in tech this week. You got to make sure you catch my show this weekend. We're going to get into smishing a lot more. We're going to be talking about some new research out there about this company that just came out of real secrecy that is ending our privacy. We're going to be talking about a significant change over in Marriott where they're trying to compete like so many brick and mortar businesses with the online world. So what is Marriott doing to compete? I don't think you'd get much more brick and mortar than when it comes to hotels and resorts that they own all over the world. All of that will be coming up this weekend. Make sure you subscribe to my podcast so that you get all of this and more. And let's get off to this morning's conversation with Ken and Matt up in Maine. Ken Welcome to the program, sir. As usual. Yeah. Cold weather. Well, we do live in New England. So you know, it's going to warm up before the snowstorm on Saturday. Craig I lived halfway out in Canada halfway up to the Arctic Circle, and more than halfway actually. And I remember days when the air temperature high was 2030 below zero. And so this isn't so bad. But you know, as you get older, you just don't tolerate it as well, I think. Ken So. You know, I'm looking at your website, which is collectivism.com. You have some exciting topics today, for example, chat. Let me see which ones do we care about? How about somebody named Chet, what do we care about Chet when we're mad and Ken? Matt That's true. It kind of sounds like an older man. Chet was a name from a long time ago. It's true. Craig 2:10 Yeah. A long time ago. I love this article from the Wall Street Journal. They've got a very, very cool illustration on it, where Chet wakes up in the morning, and he goes in and gets his coffee and does things throughout the day. And what the Wall Street Journal is showing is this fictional worker named Chet, as he's going through the day, his employer is tracking his activities. So for instance, when you get up in the morning, most people the first thing they do in the morning and the last thing they do at night is to check their email. Well, if you're checking your email, the business knows Hey, Chet, just checked his email at 635 in the morning, and then if you have a company phone, that phone is probably tracked as a company doesn't want it to be lost. I want to be able to recover it. They want to keep their data safe, all reasonable things. But many companies are now tracking you when you are going out. So say go to the coffee shop. And the local coffee shop has free Wi-Fi. And your phone connects to that free Wi-Fi network. While the business probably has a setup, so it makes a VPN call into them. They've got the GPS coordinates of your location. As you're walking around the office, your phone has Bluetooth on it, and it has Wi-Fi on it. And all of that can be tracked. The big-box retailers are pretty much all tracking us by our cell phones because we connect to their Wi-Fi networks. It is a warning to everybody from the Wall Street Journal, and the stuff we talk about almost every week, about our activities, travels, and the tracking they are doing. And when we're talking about the business side, Chet's phone conversations on his work desk phone, and potentially the cell phone can be recorded, transcribed, and monitored. They know who is calling, but it isn't necessarily looking for bad things from Chet but potentially looking to see to whom he speaks. Is he somebody that's a mover and shaker in the organization? Is he someone who's inspiring other people, helping other people, tutoring mentoring other people. So there is a lot that's going on in just our regular day to day lives. That I think frankly, Ken, a lot of people aren't paying enough attention to this monitoring. We've got to keep an eye on our privacy. I'm going to be talking more about that as well on my show. Matt We are talking to Craig Peterson, our tech guru. He joins us at this time every Wednesday to go over what's happening to excuse me, in the world of technology. A great one that caught my eye here was the discussion Kids phones, my 12-year-old who was about to be 13 got a phone this year against my wishes, but whatever, that's a different conversation. Anyway, he got one. A lot of parents, including myself, have a lot of apprehensions about their kids getting phones and the effect that it has on them and sort of whether or not it leads to, you know, obviously, either anti-social behavior or like depression and whatnot. And then, of course, there's the cyberbullying stuff and all the things that go along with that. So far, I've been rather pleasantly surprised by his level of maturity with the phone and how it has not dominated his life. So now, there's certainly more time for him to disappoint me, but he's done an excellent job with it so far. Nonetheless, the reason I'm bringing it up is you have something to talk about as it relates to research and what it has recently shown and found about sort of kids and cell phone usage. What do you think is essential to communicate about that now? Craig 5:52 Well, I think you're doing some of the right things because cyberbullying is a very, very big deal. I was bullied pretty heavily in As a kid, but back then, it was people you know, their kids using two by fours hit me up the side of the head and pull knives on me, you know, really, really nice school. Um, but nowadays, it's different because back then, yeah, kids usually get away from the bullies, I may be able to see them from a distance, and you know, I can getaway. But nowadays that cell phone goes into your home, and the kids just can't get away from it. Some of the comments that other kids might say can be very, very mean and nasty. So you're right to be worried about that. Another thing people have been worried about, I think legitimately, is, you know, when Ken and I were kids, we got in and got sat in front of the boob tube. And that was kind of our babysitter for part of the day. I know, and they were worried about whether or not it was going to cause problems with our brains. And in some cases, it's pretty apparent that it has right, Ken. Ken I use a TV all the time to babysit my six and a half-year-old twin grandchildren. It is a great babysitter. They have good shows like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse now. Craig Is DisneyPlus subscription? Yes, Ken Yes, all of that and all the Star Wars to my grandkids love Star Wars. Craig Do they? The generation Z's aren't into Star Wars. So what else doesn't work? Well, there was a study published last Friday here, Matt, by two psychology professors and, and they look through some other studies, they come through about 40 different studies, and this is according to the New York Times. They're looking at social media use depression and anxiety amongst adolescents. Is it tied is it related? And these two from one from the University of California, Irvine, who was the lead author published it in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry says, quote, there doesn't seem to be an evidence base that would explain the level of panic and consternation around these issues. So, from what they're saying, there is a right to be concerned here about kid's phones and some adverse effects from the social side. Social media and smartphones with the kids there, they still stand out there questions about their brain development, what by the time they're adolescents, it's nowhere near as big a deal with causing brain development issues as when they're under five years old. But the other thing to really worry about is is what Danny and I were talking about. And he, of course, he's got the smartphones. You guys both have that everybody has a smartphone. There are smishing campaigns. Matt What's Smishing? Craig Smishing is, you know what phishing is, right? Of course. Matt Of course. We have had to take not less than 650,000 online training here at the WGAN morning news about said phishing ploys and whatnot. So, yes, we know that well. Craig 9:12 You do understand the difference between using an ax to cut through the ice to do your fishing in the winter, and when to those screws, instead, Right? Oh, Nevermind. So with smishing, it is another version of phishing, and it's using SMS or text messages. There is a big smishing campaign going on right now. Danny has seen some of these things come through as a lot of people have. I've got an article about it up on my site this week. What's happening is they're pretending they're us. They're pretending they're Apple or pretending they're a lot of other people. So adults know that you don't respond to phishing campaigns. You don't answer these numbers that you don't recognize. You get a text message from Apple. Hey, Does Apple send you texts like this? And expect you to call back, so we don't call back, which is the right thing to do, by the way, all the time. Don't call numbers that you don't recognize and don't answer the phone. But man, how about your 12 or 13-year-old or have you trained him well enough. Do you think Matt Do you think he has run through the full rocky training montage yet? No. Ken Okay, so that's the other thing I'd be worried about. We are talking to Craig Peterson. He is our tech guru. He joins us every Wednesday at 738. You can also hear him on WGAN on Saturdays at one o'clock, and he has a website Craig Peterson dot com. Quickly why does the FBI need Apple to hack into my iPhone? Craig Oh, what a great question. Fantastic question, mate. Hold on, let's just give people, you do understand? Yeah. Matt Well, every once-in-a-while, you know, we leave no clock. Craig The FBI wants to hack into your phone because you've got an iPhone 11 right, Ken Yes. Ken No, no I kept the iPhone 10 because I don't need the 11 Craig Exactly and that's excellent advice. I think the job, okay. Nicely done. Toys Craig My advice right now is if you're going to get a new phone get an iPhone 10 the XR right now I mean I the XR is that the regulars. Ken I'm going to have a big size. Craig Okay. Yeah, yeah, it is. It's one of the big moments. So, don't upgrade until the 12 comes out or maybe the 13 until 2021. Maybe 22 because that's when 5g is going to stabilize. Okay, but back to it. Your iPhone 10 probably not the FBI cannot hack into your phone. But some of these other iPhones, the older ones, like the ones that were just used recently in Pensacola. He shot his phone, and phones of that age, they don't need Apple's help to crack into it. But even as probably the FBI is asking for help, perhaps because the phone was so severely damaged, it was shot, right, right in the face. But Apple is excellent about trying to make sure these phones are secure. And the big question here and it's been for a long time, should the FBI or other government agencies be able to break any encryption basically at will or with a court order? And I am torn on this subject. I think they should not be able to because I look at it as our private papers. And we do have a right to privacy in those papers in those records. And nowadays, we're talking about our iPhones, frankly. Matt All right, well, Craig Peterson tech guru extraordinaire, joins us at this time and every Wednesday to go over the world of technology, this being no exception to that. I appreciate you joining us, as always, Greg, and we'll talk to you again next week. Craig Hey, gentlemen, thanks. Take care. Bye. Bye. You bet. Matt All right, we are going to take a break. Hey there Mamas! Happy New Year! I hope you all got a chance to unplug and disconnect and enjoy the simpler things in life over the holidays. My 3 kids were home from Christmas Eve through New Year’s and my husband and I really optimized on our spent as a family. I planned out one major activity per day to occupy my 2 year old twins and 1 year old, because we know if you tire them out before noon, they actually NAP, which means, we may be able to sneak in snooze. That is always the goal, right? We went to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City where they enjoyed a new Dino Train exhibit, built towers out of large foam blocks, saw bees in a beehive, and met a real reindeer. We explored different parks in our neighborhood and the three of them cannot of swings and slides and even named a clubhouse the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. We baked a ton - cookies and cupcakes. The kids really enjoyed getting their hands dirty, cracking eggs and whisking flour. We built a gingerbread house. And the biggest achievement was our second bootcamp for potty training which was a success, honing in on their morning routine, and table manners. I will do podcast episodes on all of these because I think there is enough interest for these topics. For now, I want to talk about the cliched new year’s resolutions and how goal-setting can be made easy with a toolkit. I’m going to give you 3 things to implement into your life which are simple and you can stick to throughout the year. I’m doing this right along with you! I'm talking with Paul Hart from the Animated Batcast! We start off talking about the upcoming animated Batman Hush movie slated for release on July 20th and spend a bit of time talking kung fu flicks as I had just finished watching Ip Man prior to recording. It's on Netflix. Check it out! The episode gets progressively ridiculous from here. We even desecrate Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at one point. The second half gets pretty NSFW in terms of subject matter when I introduce Paul to the Try It Out guy. Then we discuss Paul's dating life and he asks for my helps in writing his Bumble profile. I fail miserably, but you can pick up the slack and really help Paul out! Send in your thoughts on how Paul should be writing his profile. We finish in true dumpster fire fashion. I rap Beastie Boys for a bit. Paul raps Nellie. Married to the Media: Media Literacy for Parents, Children, and Family
The first ever animated feature-length film, Snow White was the cinematic accomplishment that put Walt Disney on the map. Of all of children's media, the Walt Disney Company is by far the most ubiquitous: from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to The Marvel Universe. Since the creation of the Disney Princess franchise in 2001, Snow White has had something of a resurgence, despite being over 80 years old. Is it still relevant? Married to the Media is our regular podcast where we discuss movies, television, news stories, and children's media, and the impact media can have on your family's life.
The one where Kyle, Jen, and Pat B. deconstruct the popular Disney Jr. cartoon, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Enjoy your screen time!

There are no age or height requirements for this show and each production lasts roughly 23 minutes. Before we visit Mickey and his friends, here are five fast facts about Disney Junior - Live on Stage! 1. Disney Junior - Live on Stage! opened at Disney California Adventure on April 11, 2003 under the name Playhouse Disney Live. The show replaced the ABC Soap Opera Bistro, a restaurant that featured sets from famous ABC Soap Operas. 2. The original version of the show that opened in 2003 was the same as the Playhouse Disney Live show that was running at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. It featured characters from Bear In The Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie, Stanley and The Book of Pooh. 3. Over the years, the show has featured characters from other Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior shows including Jojo’s Circus, Handy Manny and Little Einsteins. The current iteration of the show that we’ll hear today features Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land Pirates. 4. A team of six puppeteers are cast for each show and they manipulate over twenty different puppets of the various characters who interact with the show’s human host and the audience. 5. All the characters in the show are voiced by their original voice actors including Corey Burton doing his incredible version of Hans Conried’s Captain Hook. Today, we're embracing our inner 4-year-olds and chatting with Rob LaDuca and Mark Seidenberg. Rob and Mark are the executive producers of the brand-new Disney Junior show Mickey and the Roadster Racers, which is the replacement for the long-running Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (on which they also worked as EPs). On this episode, we talk about their histories with these properties, how they keep finding new stories to tell with the classic characters, and the impressive voice cast on Roadster Racers. We also pick Rob's brain about his experiences on Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings and on both The Wrath of Khan and Return of the Jedi. Oh yeah.

This week we have the honour of chatting with Goofy himself! We are talking to Bill Farmer who has voiced Goofy and Pluto for the last 29 years! Farmer's very first voice over audition was for Goofy. When he auditioned for the voice, he studied the way the original actor Pinto Colvig performed as Goofy in the 1930s and 1940s cartoons. He studied the hilarious laugh and the distinctive "gawrsh". He inherited the voice of Goofy (as well as Pluto), around the same time Tony Anselmo inherited Donald Duck, and Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor did likewise for Mickey and Minnie Mouse, respectively. Farmer also played Goofy in A Goofy Movie (1995), its sequel, An Extremely Goofy Movie (2000), the Kingdom Hearts series of video games, Goof Troop (1992), which centered around the character and his son, Mickey Mouse Works (1999), House of Mouse (2001), Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2006). He originated the voice of Horace Horsecollar in Disney's version of The Prince and the Pauper and has played him ever since.[4][5] Farmer also performed additional voices on The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse (1987), and Astro Boy (2004). Other significant characters he has played include Yosemite Sam, Sylvester, and Foghorn Leghorn in the movie Space Jam (1996). He has also done several guest voices, both on TV, including The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and in video games, including the Destroy All Humans! series, Namco's Tales of Symphonia, where he voiced Governor-General Dorr, in Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts series reprising the role of Goofy, Detective Date in the SEGA game Yakuza, Captain Wedgewood and Frill Lizard in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, many voices on EverQuest II, Cletus Samson, Floyd Sanders, Jeff Meyers and Ryan LaRosa in the video game Dead Rising[6] and Sam and others in the cult classic adventure game Sam & Max Hit the Road. Farmer has also played Secret Squirrel on Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, Stinkie in Casper: A Spirited Beginning and Casper Meets Wendy, Willie Bear in Horton Hears a Who! and Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in Robot Chicken in both the animated series and its spin-off video game. He also voiced Gaston in one part of Beauty and the Beast, when Gaston eats eggs. As of 2014, he plays Doc, the leader of the title characters in Disney's animated television series The 7D.[5]
Gawrsh! This week, we sit down with Bill Farmer, the voice of Goofy himself! We cover some serious ground here, talking about his career from when he was a young kid learning tricks of the voiceover trade from the legendary Daws Butler through his initial audition for the role of Goofy in 1987 to living with Disney Legend status both on screen and in real life.

Jambeaux, everyone!!! Welcome to another episode of the Magic Our Way podcast. This week’s show is a bit different than our normal shows as this one is our BIG, HUGE, 7 and 1/2 hour Queue show condensed into one hour!!! Yes, you read this correctly, we have a myriad of topics that we wanted to discuss, but we just didn’t have one that would be broad enough for one Hub segment, so we decided to just chat while “waiting in line.” Kevin would first like to clarify the Walt Disney World cooler restrictions which was generally mentioned on last week’s show. He felt it is his responsibility to ensure that he did not mislead any listeners to that fact. Next, the boys discuss the new Disney Transportation paint job that they are putting on the busses. If you have not seen the pictures, go look at them. We would love to hear you opinions regarding this change in look. Then, Kevin gets a couple of things off of his chest: Princess Sofia’s inability to pronounce the name Cedric and his inability to do any the characters movements during the Hot Dog Dance at the end of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. After this, we read a email we received from one of our listeners and respond and talk about other Magic Our Way ideas that he brought up. Lastly, we talk about the large rumor regarding Star Wars Land and Cars Land coming to Hollywood Studios. We take a MOW approach to what we would like to see regarding this particular addition to the park. As always, if you like the show, please rate us and leave a review in the iTunes Store. We do appreciate you taking the time to do so. Also, you can find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (@magicourway). Find some of our video statuses on Keek.com. We do want to hear from our fans and we want you to be part of our discussion. Thanks again for listening to us. We do realize that you have many choices when it comes to Disney podcasts and we appreciate your attention. Please do not bump the podcast in front of you.
