Starting August 8th, theme park early entry, and package delivery will be back. Hotel guests will be able to access the parks 30 minutes prior to general opening every day. No more back and fourth with the early entry each day. For the package delivery, guests can have purchases made in the parks delivered to their rooms the next day. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/06/early-theme-park-entry-package-delivery-available-starting-august-8-for-disneyland-resort-hotel-guests/ and https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/splash-into-summer-with-more-benefits-at-disneyland-resort-hotels/ For guests staying at the Disneyland Resort Hotels from July 1st through August 31st, some new fun is coming to the pool areas. Summer Pool Parties are coming! These pool parties take place for 30 minutes each day at all three resort hotels. Disney characters will be on hand at these parties to join in on the fun. Games, like a water sponge relay and floaty toss will be available, along with high energy music. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/splash-into-summer-with-more-benefits-at-disneyland-resort-hotels/ At long last, we have a date for the return of Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage! July 25th is when the subs will be “resurfacing” from the extensive refurbishment that started when the parks closed back in 2020. When they return, some new additions will be visible to guests. Hank, the septopus from “Finding Dory” is now in the lagoon on one of the rocks. The water is crystal clear, and the entire attraction has been refreshed. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/take-a-look-inside-the-lagoon-of-finding-nemo-submarine-voyage-reopening-on-july-25-at-disneyland-park/ A new premium photo service is coming to Disneyland. The Capture Your Moment service includes a 20 minute session with a PhotoPass photographer with up to 8 guests. Children under 2 do not count toward the 8 guest limit. The photos taken during the session are not included in the price and Genie+, PhotoPass+ one day, or PhotoPass+ one week service is required. Photos include a view of Sleeping Beauty Castle, and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is not offered as a location. Guests will need to check in 15 minutes prior to their session at the Mad Hatter on Main Street. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/disneyland/capture-your-moment/ It wasn't too long ago that we were halfway to Halloween, and now we are already half way to the Holidays! The Disney Parks blog announced that “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks at Disneyland, and “World of Color – Season of Light” at Disney California Adventure will be returning this holiday season. These, along with the traditional gingerbread house at the Grand Californian, and a load of treats will be available this year. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/holiday-nighttime-spectaculars-are-back-at-disneyland-resort/ The first Disneyland After Dark – Grad Nite Reunion event took place on June 23, with another taking place the night we record this episode, and the final night on the 30th of June. The Disney Food Blog was on hand to report about the event. Guests could mix into the park starting at 5pm, with the event starting at 8pm. A guide map, lanyard, and wrist band are provided. Entertainment included a “Pep Rally” with Mickey's glee club and Goofy's dance team, with music from the All-American College Band. Lots of characters and photo ops in their graduation attire. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/24/photos-everything-you-can-do-at-disneylands-2022-grad-nite-event/ As we announced in a previous episode, the All-American College Band has returned to Disneyland! The band is made up of college students from across America and is celebrating it's 50th year. The band can be seen on Main Street daily, with no specific times posted in the app or online as of the recording. – https://www.micechat.com/325069-disneyland-news-heatwave-rolls-in-summer-crowds-thin-out-and-a-musical-tradition-returns/ A popular place to get food has rejoined the online reservation system again. The Blue Bayou is now accepting reservations online and is not walk-up only anymore. The Fantasmic! dining package has also returned to the location. When you get to your table, inform the server that you would like the Fantasmic! dining option and you will get a reserved seat for Fantasmic!, a salad, entree, and dessert and drink from the regular menu, or from a dining package only menu. The cost of the package is $89 per adult. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/24/news-reservations-now-available-for-blue-bayou-restaurant-in-disneyland/ Over in Avengers Campus, some more dining changes have occurred. The area of PYM Test Kitchen has reopened with covered seating, and the previous covered seating area has been removed by the Avengers Headquarters. The new umbrellas aren't anchored into the ground, so no word on what took so long to get this open back up. – https://www.micechat.com/325069-disneyland-news-heatwave-rolls-in-summer-crowds-thin-out-and-a-musical-tradition-returns/ This morning, we woke up and said “What a glorious morning! Makes me sick!” then Disney+ released the teaser trailer and poster for the upcoming Hocus Pocus 2 movie coming to Disney+ on September 30th. That is right, the Sanderson Sisters are back in a new movie! The teaser trailer looks great, as do the bumbling sisters. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/06/first-trailer-and-poster-released-for-hocus-pocus-2/ Ever wanted to visit all 12 Disney theme parks around the world? Disney created a trip to do so, costing $110,000. There were 75 open spots and it sold out in pre-sales. The trip was through Adventures by Disney and included a 24 day trip, starting at Disneyland, then heads to Walt Disney World, Paris, Shanghai, Hong Kong, then Tokyo Disney parks, with additional stops including the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, and Egyptian Pyramids. In total, 31 sites and 68 meals, along with a private jet to get you around was included. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/27/sold-out-8-million-disney-trip-to-all-12-theme-parks-now-has-a-waitlist/ With the United States Supreme Court ruling overturning Row vs Wade, the Walt Disney Company is now offering to cover travel costs for employees seeking an abortion if it is not available in the state the employee currently lives in. A Disney spokesperson said that “the company is committed to providing comprehensive access to quality healthcare – including family planning and reproductive care. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/24/disney-will-cover-travel-costs-for-employee-abortions/ Discussion Topic: VIP Tour with Kawehi

News: The D23 expo is getting a new, immersive retail experience called the “Expo Marketplace.” The 27,000 foot space will include everything from limited-time merch to the first items celebrating 100 years of Disney. You'll find pins, t-shirts, hats, books, plush toys and so much more. Some of these spaces will require a virtual queue boarding pass. More details on a reservation system will come out later this summer and if you're not able to attend, some of these items will make it to the ShopDisney store. – https://d23.com/d23-expo-marketplace-2022/ There's some hope that magic key holders won't have to keep refreshing the availability calendar for days to open up. Disneyland Paris launched a waiting list for Magic Key holders. With the new option, Magic Key holders put themselves on a waiting list for any day that may appear unavailable. If the day opens up, those on top of the waiting list are automatically given a reservation for that day. This is currently only available at the Paris Park, but that's also where the Lightning Lane started before coming State-side, which definitely helps fuel some of the speculation. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/15/will-disneyland-introduce-a-magic-key-reservation-waiting-list/ Guests that have seen the recently reopened World of Color and Fantasmic! nighttime entertainment may have noticed some updates. For World of Color, some elements were updated since parts to repair them were no longer available. From new 4k projectors to brighter lights on the Incredicoaster, the show looks amazing. Fantasmic! also received an extensive refurbishment to the entire show, which received some tech upgrades in 2017. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/20/how-disneyland-updated-fantasmic-and-world-of-color-special-effects/ There has been a lot of merchandise already on sale for the 50th anniversary of the Main Street Electrical Parade, but some new items have hit the shelves. First up is a 50th anniversary pin for $19.99, which features the Mickey drum float from the start of the parade with the 6.17.22 date on the side. There is also a t-shirt for $39.99 that features Elliot and June 17, 2022 written out. A mug is also on sale for $19.99. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/19/whats-new-in-disneyland-resort-creepy-star-wars-busts-now-in-galaxys-edge/ Fans of a certain Space Ranger can now meet their hero in his younger form from the new Lightyear movie. The character is now a face character and not the same version of Buzz from the Toy Story movies. This version fits in well with the new movie since the movie is about the real Buzz that the toy from Toy Story is based on. Guests can meet the new Buzz every hour until 4pm daily. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/17/buzz-lightyear-gets-a-new-look-in-disneyland-and-we-have-thoughts/ Several pops of color In Downtown Disney can be traced back to a Colombian-inspired tradition. The floral displays, or silletas, are a celebration of flowers. Fittingly, they start with a massive display from Encanto's Isabella and move throughout the district. The displays are a big display of inclusion and representation, such as LBGTQ+ Pride, Asian, Pacific Islander and Hawaiian heritage, Judaism, women, Indigenous and First-Nations people, Black, Hispanic, People of Latin heritage and people with different abilities. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/encanto-inspired-floral-displays-at-downtown-disney-district-represent-inclusion-at-the-disneyland-resort/ Last week, Cars Land turned 10 years old. The biggest part of the 1 billion dollar expansion of the Disneyland Resort opened on June 15, 2012. The Disney Parks Blog posted 10 ways to celebrate the anniversary. Meeting Cars Car-acters, getting the new Tow Mater popcorn bucket from Flo's or the Cozy Cone Motel, taking a photo with Guido in front of Luigi's, picking up a limited edition 10th anniversary Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater pin and more. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/10-ways-to-celebrate-cars-lands-10th-anniversary-at-disneyland-resort/ A shop on Main Street that has been closed since the start of the pandemic apears to be on the way to coming back. The Silhouette Shop on Main Street has posted some job listings looking for artists for the location, so hopefully this location will reopen soon. – https://www.micechat.com/324417-disneyland-news-update-buzz-construction-cars-land-anniversary/ A couple of quick updates from around the resort. Over in New Orleans Square, progress can be seen at Pirates of the Caribbean. The wall inside of the Blue Bayou restaurant has come down and the bayou is looking fresh! Concrete and cobblestone is being set in the outdoor queue area, and at this time is does not appear that Lightning Lane will be added to this classic attraction. The new planters at the entrance of Tomorrowland are now complete. – https://www.micechat.com/324417-disneyland-news-update-buzz-construction-cars-land-anniversary/ Guess what classic Disneyland treat has a new variation! If you guessed churro, you would be correct. This time, it is an orange pop churro, which is a churro covered in orange flavored and colored, and comes with a side of orange and vanilla dipping sauce for $6.75 near the Haunted Mansion. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/19/disneys-newest-churro-tastes-like-your-favorite-ice-cream-bar/ The Red Rose Tavern in Fantasyland has received some extended hours and a new “late nite dining” menu options. This year, the season will run from September 2nd through October 31st. The standard seasonal decor, Halloween-themed attractions, and photo ops will be back. Haunted Mansion Holiday, the Halloween Screams fireworks, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark and all the Cars Land favorites will also return. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/fall-favorites-return-to-disneyland-resort-beginning-sept-2-2022-with-halloween-time-oogie-boogie-bash-a-disney-halloween-party-and-plaza-de-la-familia/ Along with all the normal Halloween Time festivities, the Oogie Boogie Bash returns on 23 select nights from September 6th through October 31st, this time with the September 10th date being for D23 members only. Tickets will go on sale on June 28th no earlier than 9am Pacific, Magic Key Holders will have early access to a limited amount of tickets, with general sales beginning June 30th. There will be plenty of locations where guests can dance the night away to all different decades of music. Photo ops will also be available, along with, of course, plenty of fun food and beverage options. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/new-details-announced-for-the-first-ever-disneyland-after-dark-grad-nite-reunion-event/ Disneyland Paris celebrated its 30th anniversary back in April, and with it came a new nighttime spectacular that utilized drones. Disneyland is exploring ways to use drones in future spectaculars, but is still very much in the blue sky, or early planning stages. One of the challenges is the location of the park near neighborhoods and highways. Other massive drone shows take place in more rural areas like desserts. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/10/disneyland-explores-ways-to-use-aerial-drones-in-nighttime-spectaculars/ This past Sunday, a favorite classic villain returned to Tomorrowland. Darth Vader is now meeting again the the Star Wars Launch Bay for a limited time. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/11/darth-vader-is-returning-to-disneyland-for-a-limited-time/ Not all is happily ever after at Snow White's Enchanted Wish at Disneyland. Most of the projections after the poison apple scene have not been working recently. This doesn't make the attraction un-rideable, but it does lose a lot of the magic of the re-imagined attraction. – https://www.micechat.com/323777-disneyland-update-poison-apples-summer-crowds-spider-fail/ Finally, there have been some progress happening at the entrance to Tomorrowland! However, these are not the changes that we had been promised when the old french fry rocks had been removed. No word on if this is temporary, or the new plan for the entrance. – https://www.micechat.com/323777-disneyland-update-poison-apples-summer-crowds-spider-fail/ A new dance party is happening nightly in Tomorrowland throughout the summer. Stitch's Interplanetary Beach Party Blast features some of your favorite characters in space suits performing groovy dance moves. It runs from 7pm-11pm nightly. – https://www.micechat.com/323777-disneyland-update-poison-apples-summer-crowds-spider-fail/ Fans of Buzz Lightyear and the upcoming Lightyear movie get excited! A new drink holder is coming to Disneyland based on the space ranger himself. The Lightyear gauntlet is very similar to the Thanos Infinity gauntlet that was for sale previously. The gauntlet should be available soon. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/09/youll-be-able-to-drink-out-of-buzz-lightyears-hand-in-disneyland-yes-you-read-that-right/ As we reported on previously, there is a new Paradise Pier hotel guest entrance to Disney California Adventure. The new pathway and entrance is now open for guests to use. Unlike the entrance to DCA from the Grand Californian, this entrance is exclusive to guests of the hotel, and your room key is required. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/11/news-disney-california-adventure-entrance-from-paradise-pier-hotel-now-open/ Last week, one of the performances of the Spider-Man stuntronic show didn't go exactly as planned. From video posted on Instagram from a guest at the show, it appeared that the stuntronic didn't release from the web line and came crashing down into the building where Spider-Man usually lands safely. The side of the building is designed to break away in the case of this type of malfunction, and by one of the shows later in the day, it looked like nothing had happened. – https://www.micechat.com/323777-disneyland-update-poison-apples-summer-crowds-spider-fail/ Discussion Topic: Nicolasa – Disneyana Fan Club – https://disneyanafanclub.weebly.com/

Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana from Princess and the Frog, was interviewed on the “Kelly and Ryan” talkshow and made a comment that the Splash Mountain refurbishment had a projected opening of 2024. This is the first time that a solid timefram has been spoken about. Disney would not confirm of deny the information, but released a statement that they will have more to share at the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans in July. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ At Star Wars Celebration last week, it was announced at one of the panels that new scenes would be coming to Star Tours. No details have been released on what the scenes will be, but it is always a welcome addition to have more options. Once we know more, we will be sure to talk about it on a future episode! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/27/disney-hints-at-new-star-tours-scenes/ As we reported last week, Radiator Springs Racers was forced to close after an incident where smoke was coming from one of the ride vehicles. After a 10-day closure, the attraction reopened on Friday, June 3rd. Still no official word on what the cause of the incident was, but a former Disneyland Maintenance Cast Member told MiceChat that the ride vehicles break down regularly and curcuit breakers in each car will cause the vehicle to stop when problems arise. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/disneyland-reopens-radiator-springs-racers-after-smoking-car-closes-ride-for-more-than-a-week/ and https://www.micechat.com/322588-disneyland-news-radiator-springs-racers-incident-blue-bayou-return-info/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/fantasmic-dinner-packages/availability-modal/ Guests at Disneyland can dine at a favorite restaurant that has recently reopened in a limited capacity. The Blue Bayou has returned and is not taking online reservations, but guests can join the walk-up wait list for lunch or dinner at the podium at the restaurant, or through the Disneyland mobile app. Pirates of the Caribbean is still closed for refurbishment, so the view may not be as magical as normal. The Fantasmic! dining package lists reservation times starting on June 16th. – https://twitter.com/DisneyParks/status/1532803837068824578 MiceChat was able to obtain aerial photos of Toon Town progress this week. From the air, we can see that all of the pavement in the land has been removed and is currently dirt. The facade of the El CapiTOON theater is looking more and more complete. The area where the new park will be located has been cleared and awaiting work to start. Both fountains in the land have also been removed, along with the gazebo in front of the City Hall building. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ The former entrance to Tarzan's Treehouse has come out from behind walls this week. The area is much more open now for guest traffic heading out of Adventureland toward the bridge over the Pirates queue. Once again, there is not any theming on the new concrete. The lack of the entrance also allows parts of New Orleans Square to be visible throughout Adventureland. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ We are one week into June, and Celebrate Soulfully has officially kicked off at Disneyland. In Disney California Adventure, groups have been performing at the Hollywood Pictures Backlot stage, and in front of Carthay Circle daily, and seasonal food offerings scattered about. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ For anyone who has never seen Fantasmic! or would like some tips on how to best experience it, the Orange County Register posted some tips. Among the best tips are to make sure to find a spot in front of one of the mist screens. They are located in front of the island, and on both sides. If you find yourself in the middle of the screens, the view isn't as good. The other stand out tip is to catch the second show of the night. The second show is always less crowded and it is impossible to sit for hours holding a spot since the entire area is cleared after the first show, and fireworks afterward. The longest you will have to wait is about an hour. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/7-tips-for-watching-the-return-of-fantasmic-at-disneyland/ Much like the electrical parade, there is a favorite treat at Disneyland that keeps on returning. The Fluffernutter churro is available once again at Willie's Churros on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The churro is a standard churro, topeed with a peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, and chocolate chips. The churro is available for $6.75. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/06/review-fantastic-fluffernutter-churro-returns-to-disney-california-adventure/ When we were there last month, there was a line of walls up in front of Ariel's Undersea Adventure. Those walls have finally come down to reveal that they were just replacing the concrete in this area. This is just some of the walkway repaving that has been going on around the entire resort. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ Discussion Topic: Nicolasa from the Disneyana Fan Club

There is no word on when or if they will go back on sale. Speculation online thinks that this is because of the impending lawsuit around reservations and access tied to the Magic Key program. Even more speculation online thinks that the program may get reworked again before going back on sale. Only time will tell. – https://www.micechat.com/323209-disneyland-news-magic-key-locked-new-ca-resident-ticket-offer/ For Weeklyteers who are going to the park and who aren't Magic Keyholders, there is a great ticket deal available! California residents can purchase summer tickets to Disneyland starting as low as $83 per day. The ticket is a 3-day, one park per day ticket for $249 for Monday through Thursday admission, with weekend tickets starting at $299. For $60 more per ticket, park hopping can be added. Tickets are valid for trips from June 3th and September 15th, 2022. Not a bad value to get to see all the nighttime entertainment that has returned. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/31/new-ticket-deal-announced-for-select-disneyland-guests/ Star Wars Celebration was this past weekend across the street from the Disneyland Resort at the Anaheim Convention Center. A lot of Star Wars news was announced, even some parks news! Boba Fett and Fennec Shand were announced to be coming to Star Wars: Galaxys Edge, and then they were there over the weekend. Din Djarin, better known as The Mandalorian, and Grogu, better known as the Child were also announced to be showing up in the area soon. This is a break from the strict timeline that Imagineering has placed on the area, but promise that the characters from the different eras will not interact or be in the same area at the same time. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/13175/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_May_31__June_5_2022#news3 Anyone who has been to Oga's Cantina in Star Wars Galaxys Edge will know DJ Rex spinning tunes for the patrons of the establishment. Soon, guests can listen to some of his tracks on a new album that will be released. No firm date at the moment, but we will keep you updated once we see it online. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/27/videos-dj-r3x-from-disneys-ogas-cantina-is-releasing-an-album/ Signs outside of the Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland tease the return of the combined museum/store/photo op. No word yet on when this will reopen, but Cast Members are stationed outside of the location telling guests it should be returning soon. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ This past weekend, Fantasmic! returned to the Rivers of America to delight guests once again. The projections look clear and bright, the show scenes look fresh, and the show was amazing as always. The best way to get a great seat for the show is to book the River Belle Terrace dining package for $50 per guest, since they are using the same reserved seating area that the Blue Bayou usually uses. Once the Blue Bayou reopens, this area is expected to be shifted to the side more to accommodate the Blue Bayou guests. The Hungry Bear location is across from the Haunted Mansion and offers a side viewing angle for the show. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ June is here, which means that the busy summer season has started at Disneyland. The Disneyland Forever fireworks show will now play nightly with fireworks 7 days a week. During the non-summer and holiday season, Mickey's Mix Magic was played with projections only during the week, with fireworks on the weekends only. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Last week, the most popular attraction in Disney California Adventure had an incident that has caused it to be closed ever since. Video online showed one of the cars on the outside racetrack portion of the attraction stopped and smoking. Though the vehicle never caught fire, the guests in the vehicle were buckled in with smoke coming from the rear. Cast Members did get out to the guests and exit them from the vehicle with no injuries. Disney has closed the attraction to investigate the incident to ensure it won't happen again. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ In Downtown Disney, food trucks have taken up residence by the old ESPN building to help feed hungry guests. These food trucks are expected to be there until at least July 4th. This is a great idea since the Earl of Sandwich is gone and there is a lack of affordable dining options, especially for larger families. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Guests staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel can enjoy one of the hotel amenities again. The pool has finally reopened after a lengthy refurbishment. None of the stores or restaurants are open yet at the location, but it is great to have the pool open so guests don't have to walk over to the Disneyland Hotel to use their pool. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Discussion Topic: DLWeekyl Vault: Former Aladdin a Musical Spectacular Genie Dylan Website – http://www.dylanwhite.com/ Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/itsdylanwhite/ Aladdin a Musical Spectacular Final Performance – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enW48NlXRj4

Some of the items include Chicken-coconut Curry Sweet Potato or the Pride Rock Punch at Troubadour Tavern, or the Peaches and Cream Funnel Cake at Award Wieners. Outside of the parks, GCH Craftsman Bar at the Grand Californian will offer Jerk Seasoned Beef Tenderloin Skewers & Coconut Shrimp, with raspberry rum sauce! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/05/cooking-up-the-magic-pride-rock-punch-recipe-plus-celebrate-soulfully-delights-coming-soon-to-disneyland-resort/ For those Weeklyteers who can't make it to the parks for the Pride Rock Punch, you are in luck! The Disney Parks Blog posted the recipe so you can make this thirst quenching beverage at home! With just 8 ingredients and a few minutes of time, and you can make this at home for 4-6 people, or servings if you aren't sharing! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/05/cooking-up-the-magic-pride-rock-punch-recipe-plus-celebrate-soulfully-delights-coming-soon-to-disneyland-resort/ Fantasmic! fans rejoice! The return of the biggest nighttime spectacular is just a few days away as we record this episode. Most of the infrastructure has been updated and refurbished to get everything show ready, and the work on the pathways along the riverfront are wrapping up as well. We can't wait to see how the show looks after its long hibernation since COVID. – https://www.micechat.com/322309-disneyland-update-the-cost-of-magic-project-gateway/ A few episodes ago, we talked about the possible value of the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge where guests can book a spot to have some goodies and watch the fireworks from the top section of the Star Wars Launch Bay. For $60, guests can come and go as they please from the lounge, and are treated to an entree, side, and dessert with unlimited assorted beverages. Food is ordered from the Galactic Grill upon check-in and then brought into the lounge by the guest. A badge and lanyard is also provided. Giant games are also on hand to keep everyone occupied. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/22/review-is-disneys-exclusive-tomorrowland-lounge-worth-the-we-found-out/ Guests who are seeking adventure and salty old pirates won't have to wait too much longer. The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is not listed on the refurbishment calendar after July 1st, so it could open around that time! Disney has not announced an official date, and there are no dining reservations offered for the Blue Bayou for that time either, but with any luck guests will be celebrating the 4th of July with the swashbuckling pirates. – https://www.micechat.com/322309-disneyland-update-the-cost-of-magic-project-gateway/ Something that Avengers Campus has been missing since its opening last year is more shade and seating. Disney has listened and some covered tables and chairs have been installed next to the Avengers Headquarters. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/05/seating-installed-next-to-avengers-headquarters-at-avengers-campus-in-disney-california-adventure/ So this amazing movie came to Disney+ last week and the reviews have been pretty positive. Guests can now meet the stars from the movie at Disney California Adventure. Chip and Dale from the new Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers are appearing at the entrance to Hollywood Land, to the left of the Hyperion Theater for meet and greets. The crime fighting duo are dressed in their classic outfit from the TV show. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/05/chip-n-dale-meeting-guests-as-the-rescue-rangers-at-disney-california-adventure-to-celebrate-movie-premiere-on-disney/ We aren't going to cover this too much until things are finalized, but there is a change being proposed by Disney to its cast members to do away with the points system for attendance issues and move to an occurrence system. Very basically, this will make it easier for Disney to let go cast members with attendance issues and makes working at Disneyland less flexible for the cast members. We will keep an eye on this and let everyone know when there is an update. – https://www.micechat.com/322309-disneyland-update-the-cost-of-magic-project-gateway/ Discussion Topic: Disneyana – https://disneyanafanclub.weebly.com/we-are-back.html

Fantasmic! debuted on May 13, 1992 at Disneyland. Over the years, the show has added and subtracted different scenes and elements. The show has been performed more than 11,000 times since its debut. Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock met with community leaders recently talking about exciting changes coming to the resort, and this was one of the previously unannounced updates. The Pixar theme will change over time as new Disney-Pixar movies come out to keep the hotel fresh for guests. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/news-from-the-disneyland-resort-upcoming-pixar-plans-big-foodie-news-and-more/ The updated hotel theme wasn't the only thing Ken talked about! He revealed more details of what is to come at Downtown Disney. In an interview on the D23 Insider podcast, he said that they are looking at Downtown Disney through the lens of Disney Springs out in Florida and how successful that has been. More diverse options are coming with the addition of Din Tai Fung, a Chinese cuisine restaurant, along with Catal and Uva Bar transforming into a hub of Mexican Cuisine with Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytan. Finally, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen will be getting a complete overhaul into a more “vibrant California energy” theme. Last week, Disneyland's Royal Theatre in Fantasyland resumed story telling of Beauty and the Beast and Tangled. Food from Disney chefs at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World are on tap, along with a Twitter watch party for Hocus Pocus on Wednesday, April 27th at 5pm Disneyland time, which will also include some digital wallpaper downloads. On Thursday, more announcements will be made to celebrate. The Disney Parks Tik Tok account will have live content from all the Disney Parks locations, with some more surprises. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/join-us-for-our-biggest-and-best-disney-halfwaytohalloween-celebration-yet/ Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort in the next few days can experience the ghoulishly delicious treats to celebrate Halfway to Halloween. At Downtown Disney, there will be a Cheddar Pickle Dog at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs through May 1st. There will also be a Spooky Churro at California Churro through May 4th. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/first-look-at-disneys-halfway-to-halloween-eats-and-treats/ A new Disneyland After Dark event is coming to the resort for the first time. Disneyland After Dark Grad Nite Reunion will take place on multiple nights throughout June at Disney California Adventure Park. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/introducing-the-first-ever-disneyland-after-dark-grad-nite-reunion/ The Main Street Electrical Parade returned this past week with a few new surprises that weren't announced. We all know about the new text on the lead float, and the reimagined finale float, but even more was changed! The intro to the parade has been reworked to include part of Walt's opening day speech, and the music has been updated for the finale float. A little bit of extra magic was added to the finale float along “its a mall world” and Main Street. Projections that tie into the Mary Blair theming of the new float are presented as it passes guests. – https://www.laughingplace.com/w/articles/2022/04/21/interview-how-disneyland-is-celebrating-the-50th-anniversary-of-the-main-street-electrical-parade/ and https://www.micechat.com/309935-big-disneyland-entertainment-returns-for-2022/ With the return of the Electrical Parade, two items have been very popular. The Eliot popcorn bucket, and the Turtle sipper drew long lines from guests wanting to get their hands on this fun collectible. Both of these items are available at multiple popcorn carts and dining locations, so be sure to check around if you are trying to get your hands on one of these. New for something this popular is the ability to mobile order these through the Disneyland app. This can save hours waiting in line. – https://www.micechat.com/309935-big-disneyland-entertainment-returns-for-2022/ The Main Street Electrical Parade may have stolen the limelight, but World of Color has also returned this past week. Unlike the Electrical Parade, this show is presented in its previous form with no new updates. Guests wanting to get the best viewing possible will want to either book a dining or dessert package, or grab a virtual queue reservation prompt at noon. The virtual queue spaces have been filling up almost instantly after being available. – https://www.micechat.com/320184-disneyland-update-electric-entertainment-magic-key-blues-rumors-too/ Character meets and greets are back at Disneyland delighting guests. A variety of interactions can be had around the parks from standing in line to see a favorite character, to a casual encounter with a character walking around. One of the longest waits for characters so far has been the Princess Fantasy Faire, with one of the shortest waits at the Fantasyland Theatre where Mickey Mouse was spotted. – https://www.micechat.com/320184-disneyland-update-electric-entertainment-magic-key-blues-rumors-too/ New Orleans Square has seen a flurry of activity and walls all over the place the last couple of months. The first section of modified tiering has been unveiled and looks pretty good. The walkways are more open and without the stairs and larger planters in the way, make it much easier for guests to get from one place to another. The brick walls around the planters make a great place for guests to sit for a break as well. – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsRCY-LribM Mother's Day is quickly approaching and there are a lot of options at the resort to take advantage of. Inside of Disneyland at the Plaza Inn, there is a Mother's Day Brunch with Minnie and her friends. At the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa lobby at the holiday cart, there is an assortment of sweet treats. Storytellers is hosting a Mother's Day Brunch and Dinner. Finally, Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel will offer a Brunch and Dinner as well. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/04/20/full-list-of-mothers-day-snacks-available-in-disney-world-disneyland/ A new kiosk has been erected outside of the Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney. The appearance of this kiosk is perfect timing for the upcoming May the 4th celebration. Additional merchandise will probably be sold at this location for the event. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/04/new-kiosk-erected-outside-star-wars-trading-post-in-downtown-disney-district/ The culinary experts of the Disneyland Resort have done it again! The lobby of the Grand Californian is now the home to a massive edible model of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. The display is made from Rice Krispy Treats and painstakingly painted by the food artisans. The spires of Black Spire Outpost are featured heavily, along with a large model of the Millennium Falcon. – https://fb.watch/cDMVS7ugZY/ Guests from a galaxy far. far away who have tickets for Star Wars Nite coming up can start their meal planning now. Some of the food items have already made it onto the Disneyland mobile app. – https://www.micechat.com/320184-disneyland-update-electric-entertainment-magic-key-blues-rumors-too/ Weeklyteers who might want to own a piece of Disneyland or the Walt Disney Studios history should check out the next Van Eaton Galleries Auction. The auction will feature over 900 artifacts from the company and park. Specific items include original production background from the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon “Ozzy of the Mounted,” the original artwork for a 1932 Mickey Mouse comic strip, a Gustaf Tenggren layout drawing for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, an original Walt Disney Studios animator's desk, original Mary Blair concept paintings, rare animator's maquettes, Walt Disney autographs, and much more. – https://vegalleries.com/historicjourney Visitors to the Disneyland Resort are no longer required to wear mask in most situations. Guests using First Aid, for example, will still need to wear a mask. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/04/24/news-mask-requirements-changed-for-disneyland-transportation/ There has been a lot of confusion and talk around the internet about the renew-ability of the Magic Keys. It all started with a single post online that stated that Disneyland would not allow renewal of their Dream Key. It is a lot more nuanced than that. At this point, we are still a couple of months away from the vast majority of people renewing their keys in July, since passes can be renewed 45 days before expiration. Disneyland does not seem to have made a decision on what they are going to do with renewals since the top two tiers of Magic Keys are currently sold out. – https://www.micechat.com/320184-disneyland-update-electric-entertainment-magic-key-blues-rumors-too/ Discussion Topic: Sarah M – How Disneyland Changed my Life Mom Video – https://youtu.be/Z0WVYadfAj8 Teresa's Yoga App – Apple Store – https://apps.apple.com/us/app/yoga-for-beginners-mind-body/id1382141225

Disney is rolling out a virtual queue system for guests to use through the Disneyland mobile app to grab a spot for the show. Guests will need to have entered Disney California Adventure on a one-park ticket, or Disneyland on a park hopper ticket to be able to get the reservation in the virtual queue. The virtual queue will open at noon every day the show runs. Guests will receive notifications 45 minutes before the show starts to head to either a blue or yellow gate to enter the seating area. Guests can still walk up to see the show, but reservations are highly recommended. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/dazzling-world-of-color-returns-on-april-22-to-disney-california-adventure-park/ Character meet and greets started up again this week, without Genie+ required like in Walt Disney World. Since January, the Florida parks have offered four different meet and greets as part of the Genie+ service. So, at Disneyland, guests can now get up close to their favorites to get hugs, high fives, and autographs for the first time since the pandemic began in 2020. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/04/13/disneyland-wont-use-genie-for-character-meet-and-greet-photo-ops/ For those of you who like spoilers, the Disney Parks Blog posted a preview of the Main Street Electrical Parade, along with footage of the new float. Along with the new float for the finale, the drum sign that Mickey rides on has also been updated with “50 Years,” noting the 50th anniversary of the classic parade. The reimagined “To Honor America” float looks great with the new Mary Blair inspired Disney characters and fits right in with the rest of the parade. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/first-look-at-the-new-grand-finale-in-the-main-street-electrical-parade-debuting-april-22-at-disneyland-park/ MiceChat had some eyes in the skies recently that gives us some insight on the progress being made in Mickey's Toontown! We have the article linked in the show notes showing that Chip and Dale's Treehouse has been removed, and all of the paving, along with the two fountains in the land have been removed. The gazebo in front of the City Hall in Toontown has also been taken down. – https://www.micechat.com/319510-disneyland-update-pruning-disneyland-treehouses/ Tarzan's Treehouse has been under scrims since last September when it abruptly closed to guests. Disney had not addressed why this was, until this week. The current plan for the attraction, which has stood in Adventureland since 1962, is to remove the entrance to the attraction which blocks guest flow, and to eventually re-theme it to something else. MiceChat speculated one of the options would be back to the Swiss Family Robinson since Disney+ was working on a series based on the classic, but our sources say that series has been put on hold for now. Another option is theming it to Encanto. We will keep you updated when we have more solid information on what it will transform into. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/04/18/disneyland-to-give-tarzans-treehouse-a-new-theme/ One of the most iconic songs from the Disney Parks has been inducted into the Library of Congress. “it's a small world” was first heard on the attraction at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. The fair had the theme of “Peace Through Understanding,” which fits right in with the attraction that was moved to Disneyland after the fair ended. The song was one of 25 recordings “worthy of preservation for all time based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation's recorded sound heritage.” – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/04/14/disneylands-iconic-its-a-small-world-song-inducted-into-library-of-congress-music-registry/ The Magic Key Terrace continues its transformation slowly. New chandeliers and lighting has been installed, along with faux stained glass, a new fountain, wrought-iron fixtures, and more. The theme is highly inspired by peacocks for the interior, covered portion, and by cats on the exterior portion. Overall, this is a nice improvement to the area and makes it feel more welcoming. – https://www.micechat.com/319510-disneyland-update-pruning-disneyland-treehouses/ Scaffolding has come down from around Stage 12 in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot area of Disney California Adventure. The building has been repainted and a meet and greet for Goofy has been placed here for the Food and Wine Festival. This was the area where Captain Marvel's airplane and meet and greet was previously located. – https://www.micechat.com/319510-disneyland-update-pruning-disneyland-treehouses/ Fans of Disney Pixar's Turning Red have a lot of merchandise options around the parks. Some of the items that are available include a Turning Red Minnie Ear set, some amazingly comfy looking slippers, plushes and more. Some of the most popular items like the 4*Town band shirts have sold out, but will hopefully return in the future. – https://www.micechat.com/319350-disneyland-merchandise-update-stitch-toys/ When Disneyland closed in 2020, the Disney Parks YouTube channel posted a video of the Magic Happens parade. This week, Disney has removed that video from their channel, with no explanation of why. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/04/disney-removes-official-video-of-magic-happens-parade-at-disneyland-from-youtube/ Discussion Topic: Nebraska State Poet and Disneyland Fan Matt Mason At The Corner of Fantasy and Main: Disneyland, Midlife, and Churros – https://theoldmillpress.com/at-the-corner-of-fantasy-and-main.html Blog – http://matt.midverse.com/ Facebook Page – https://www.facebook.com/NeSP3

He said that the phased reopening will take at least another year. The resort has rehired or hired 28,000 cast members to bring the current staff to 30,000, 2,000 shy of pre-pandemic levels. Potrock also commented on the ability for the resort to move quickly and try different things, even if they are not perfect, knowing that they will get to a right place in the end. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/04/01/disneyland-resort-president-ken-potrock-takes-stock-at-halfway-point-of-phased-reopening/ As early as April 18th, guests will once again be able to get up close and personal with their favorite Disney characters in the parks, resorts, and cruise ships! This year, there are THREE games in the Eggstraviganza! Each board is $9.99 plus tax, and can be purchased at select merchandise locations around the resort. One game board is for Disneyland park, one is for Disney California Adventure, and finally one for Downtown Disney. Once guests have found all the eggs, the game boards can be returned for one of six collectable eggs. Redemption locations are at the Plaza Point on Main Street, Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street, and Disney's Pin Traders in Downtown Disney. The eggstraviganza is available March 31st through April 17th. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/03/eggstravaganza-is-hippity-hoppity-fun-at-the-disneyland-resort/ The Disneyland Resort honored 100,000 years of work from Cast Members with two parties at Disney California Adventure last week. The party featured an open bar and an all-you-can-eat buffet. The cast members that were celebrated were those with over 10 years of service. This included 102 that worked for 40 years at Disneyland, 46 who worked 45 years, and 14 who worked 50 years! Half of the attractions and more than two-dozen Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters were on hand. It was the largest employee service celebration in Disneyland history. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/03/28/disneyland-honors-100000-years-of-work-with-employee-service-celebration/ A sad bit of news to report this week as one of, if not the most famous cast members at the resort is retiring! Maynard, who Tage has been aware of since the late 90s, is stepping away from the Happiest Place on Earth on April 1st. This isn't an April fools joke though! We were lucky enough to meet him at the Enchanted Tiki Room during our visit in December. He was almost as big of a character as Mickey Mouse himself. Guests were always in for a treat when he was at a location. Disneyland just won't be the same without him, but he deserves some time to himself in retirement! – https://www.micechat.com/317538-disneyland-cast-member-maynard-smith-retires/ Calling all single riders! For the first time since the attraction opened, Web Slingers will offer a single rider line. The new single rider entrance is located between the stand-by entrance and the Lightning Lane entrance. The Disney Food Blog reported that they waited just 17 minutes in the single rider line when the stand-by line was 65 minutes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/24/single-rider-line-now-available-for-web-slingers-a-spider-man-adventure-in-disneyland/ With Fantasmic! retuning in the next couple of months and Pirates of the Caribbean down for an extended refurbishment, it is the perfect time to re-imagine the waterfront of New Orleans Square. Walls went up almost two weeks ago and work is underway to remove some of the elevated sections of the walkway to provide for more queuing options for Pirates, and better crowd flow for Fantasmic! From the view over the construction walls, the planters have gone away, but the trees have remained. – https://www.micechat.com/317860-dateline-disneyland-disney-dining-drama-downtown-disney-demolition/ One place that the trees have not been spared is in the Pirates Queue where the two older trees have been trimmed back for removal soon. The trees are planned to be replaced in this location to keep the much needed shade while waiting in line for Pirates. – https://www.micechat.com/317860-dateline-disneyland-disney-dining-drama-downtown-disney-demolition/ Another experience from a Galaxy Far, Far Away is coming to Tomorrowland at the end of April. Starting on April 29th, Hyperspace Mountain will launch guests into the Star Wars universe. This experience will not be available for long, so be sure to check it out if you are visiting around the end of April into May. For those who have not experienced this version of Space Mountain, it is basically a Star Wars overlay for the popular indoor coaster. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/28/hyperspace-mountain-is-coming-back-to-disneyland-for-a-limited-time/ Pins fans get excited! Some new limited edition pins, themed to Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Easter, and St. Patrick's Day have arrived around the resort. The Pirates pin has a skeleton pirate sitting on some treasure with 55th Anniversary on the top and Pirates of the Caribbean at the bottom for $17.99. Kermit the Frog is sitting in a pot of gold for the St. Patrick's Day pin for $17.99. Finally, the Star Wars pins feature Lieutenant Bek or Vi Moradi with an orange Resistance logo and the word Resist on the top for $19.99. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/03/limited-edition-easter-and-star-wars-pins-limited-release-pirates-of-the-caribbean-and-st-patricks-day-pins-arrive-at-disneyland-resort/ This next story is something that we saw ourselves while visiting the resort last week. The new Disney Vacation Club or DVC tower has started vertical construction! when completed, the new tower will stand 12 stories high and add 350 time share villas to the resort. No date on when this tower is scheduled to be completed. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/24/photos-vertical-construction-has-begun-on-the-disneyland-hotel-dvc-tower/ Last week, Magic Key Holders were able to pick up a free souvenir at Disney California Adventure! A Magic Key Holder themed reusable straw was given out to Keyholders on March 21st, 23rd, and 24th. The straw came in a blue carrying case, with a carabiner clip on one end, and unscrews to reveal the straw. News: Last week was the last week for Toontown as we knew it. The entire land has now closed and will reopen sometime next spring with a complete renovation. The week leading up to the closure saw a lot of guests getting in their last visit before it turns into something quite new and refreshed. This is the first time that we are aware of that an entire land has been closed for a remodel as extensive as this since the New Fantasyland in the early 80's. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ Encanto fans can now meet Mirabel in a new location at the resort. Mirabel's meet and greet has moved from the Paradise Garden area of Disney California Adventure, where she was located during the Festival of the Holidays, to Zocalo Park in Frontierland. The lines to meet her have been long, so be prepared to wait a bit if you want to get a picture with her. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ One of our Weeklyteers will be very excited at this next piece of news! Tinker Bell has returned to Pixie Hollow, the area between Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and the hub. Tinker Bell has not been in her hollow since sometime in 2020 before the closure of the parks. This is a welcome addition to the meet and greet lineup and is sure to be popular. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ Captain Marvel must be on a mission elsewhere as the jet for her meet and greet has been removed from the Hollywood Pictures Backlot. The area is now behind constructions walls. Who knows what this location will become in the future. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ The new shop in Fantasyland that took over the old Heraldry shop has opened. Merlin's Marvelous Miscellany opened this past week. The details around this cozy shop are the real star here and are a must stop for any Sword in the Stone fans! – https://www.micechat.com/316633-abracadabra-merlins-marvelous-miscellany-opens-at-disneyland/ Disneyland continues to work on infrastructure for the nighttime entertainment in both parks. This week, a new canopy was installed over the top of the pits to the Fantasmic! fountains. What could this mean? MiceChat suggests that it could be new show elements being worked on or installed that will be part of the returning show. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ With the changes coming to New Orleans Square soon, some other things are also disappearing. The two Ficus trees in the courtyard of Pirates of the Caribbean are being taken out due to disease. Hopefully new trees and their much needed shade are put back in some capacity for the queue. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ We are already half way through March, which means that St. Patrick's Day is almost here! To celebrate, the Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland is offering “the Green Stuff,” which is a mint white chocolate mousse, chocolate make, and mint chocolate chips and chocolate cookie crumbs on a shortbread cookie. News: Classic character meet and greets could be coming back soon! During a Q&A session at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, & Telecom Conference this week, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Walt Disney Company Christine McCarthy said they should be returning “soon.” She pointed to the decline in Covid cases as a good indicator of the safety of the meet and greets. She also stated that meet and greets could help with long lines that have been at the parks recently. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/07/news-face-to-face-character-meet-and-greets-returning-soon-to-disney-parks/ and https://www.ocregister.com/2022/03/07/when-will-disneyland-let-mickey-mouse-hug-visitors-again/ At the same conference, we got some insight on the capacity of the parks currently. A question came up asking about the current capacity and if it was back to 100%. McCarthy said they are not back to full capacity, but they are close. When asked if the capacity would go back to pre-covid levels, her answer was no. The way in which they manage the parks is different now. Disney is looking forward to bringing back nighttime entertainment as that will help with the crowds that are happening now. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/03/07/are-disney-parks-back-at-full-capacity-yet-an-executive-answers/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/03/disney-may-never-return-to-former-capacity-to-avoid-parks-bursting-at-the-seams-says-executive/ The first Villains Nite is happening as we record this episode, with the second nite on March 10th. News: The President of the Disneyland Resort, Ken Potrock, gave an interview to the Orange County Register last week. He discussed changes at the parks, the new normal, and more. He states that the pandemic gave the resort an opportunity to rethink things. If they don't work out, or need adjustments, that is ok, because Disneyland is continuously evolving. Ken also states that the new normal is almost here, with more yet to come. Finally, he said that Disney is working hard to bring characters from movies and tv to the parks much faster than in the past. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/02/24/qa-disneyland-president-ken-potrock-on-change-momentum-and-the-new-normal/ With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, many thought that Project Stardust, the initiative to widen walkways and improve guest flow throughout the park, was done. Well, it looks like the terraced areas in New Orleans Square may be next on the list of things to change soon. MiceChat reports that the elevated areas that are not wheelchair or stroller accessible may be removed soon to allow for better guest flow and accessibility. This would also help with the extended queue for Pirates that has been a problem since the introduction of Genie+ and Lightning Lane. – https://www.micechat.com/315458-disneyland-news-update-flattening-new-orleans-square/ The trams have finally returned! Guests don't have to walk all the way to and from the front gates any longer, unless they want to. There was a special reopening ceremony for the trams, with Disneyland President Ken Potrock, Disney Ambassador Nataly Guzman, and, of course, Mickey and Minnie! On the day the trams came back into service, there were 13 trams in circulation. – https://www.micechat.com/314063-disneyland-trams-returning/ World of Color will be delighting guests once again soon, so work has been going on around the clock. One of the interesting things that has changed is the new projectors and housing for the show. The new buildings and projectors are much larger than the old versions. This could mean that the show will be brighter and have clearer images on the mist screens. – https://www.micechat.com/315458-disneyland-news-update-flattening-new-orleans-square/ It has been a few years now since the comic and cinematic universe lost one of it's most iconic creators. To honor Stan Lee's 100th birthday coming up in December, a plaque was installed in Avengers Campus. The new plaque is located at the entrance to Avengers Campus. When Tinker Bell reaches the top of the castle, the game board magically transforms from day to night! It's an enchanting adventure every time you play!” The one that we are most excited for is the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad game! Will you find fortune mining the mysterious mountain, or awaken its many dangers? Discover gold-filled veins, grow your mining operations with new equipment, and invest in the town's businesses. News: A new proprietor has taken up residence on Main Street. Dave Smith, the creator of the Disney Archives, received a window on Main Street above the Fortuosity Shop. The window says “New Century Historical Society, Dave Smith, Town Archivist, Preserving, Protecting & Presenting Our Fond Memories of the Past.” Dave sadly passed away back in 2019 before he could receive the honor of the window. The ceremony was attended by Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock, Disneyland Park Vice President Kris Theiler, Archives Director Becky Cline, Disney Ambassadors Mark Everett King Jr. and Nataly Guzman, and Dave's sister Jean Marana.
