This special Thursday edition of our weekly live show covered a lot of ground. Sam joined us from the road just after the premiere Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite event at Disneyland. That meant new popcorn buckets, sippers, event details, and a firsthand look at what the night actually felt like in the park. But the show did not stay in one lane. Holly returned with a quick Hallmark update. We got new dates for the 2026 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which starts earlier than ever on August 7. Greg also got a firsthand look at the construction progress at Disney Lakeshore Lodge. And Sam had more Disneyland to cover beyond Star Wars. That included Bluey's Best Day Ever, the return of Paint the Night, Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival just wrapping up, and a look inside the updated timeline at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Sam Reports Back from Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite The biggest headline of the night was Sam joining from the road fresh off Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. Disney describes these after-hours events as running from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Disneyland park, with themed entertainment, specialty menu items, character experiences, shorter attraction wait times, unlimited digital PhotoPass downloads, and commemorative keepsakes. The April 28 event also landed right at the front edge of Disneyland's larger Star Wars season. That made this more than just another party-night recap. Star Wars Nite was also one of the first chances for guests to see how Disneyland was expanding the story at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. That is a meaningful detail for fans who care about continuity in Galaxy's Edge. For years, the land sat in a very specific point on the Star Wars timeline. This new approach gives Disneyland more room to bring in different characters and stories, which makes the land feel more flexible going forward. The Popcorn Buckets and Sippers Were Part of the Story Too Of course, it would not be Star Wars season at Disneyland without new novelty items. Disney Parks Blog previewed fresh Star Wars popcorn buckets, sippers, and other collectibles tied to the May the 4th celebration window, with select items also available during Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. The April 28 and April 30 event nights also gave guests early access to shop some items from the May the 4th Logo Collection. [caption id="attachment_81547" align="aligncenter" width="1920"] Disney's May the 4th Foodie Guide 2026 puts the spotlight on new Star Wars novelties, drinks, and limited-time treats.[/caption] That is part of what made Sam's report from the event especially useful. These limited releases are no longer side details. They are part of how fans plan these nights, and often part of what gets remembered most. We Have Dates for EPCOT Food and Wine Festival 2026 Back on the Walt Disney World side, Disney officially announced that the 2026 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival runs from August 27 through November 21, 2026. That gives fans another long runway of booths, bites, drinks, and festival energy at EPCOT as the year starts to shift toward fall. This is always one of those planning stories that gets people moving fast. Once the dates are out, the conversation changes from waiting to planning. Vacation timing, festival strategy, and what Disney might reveal next all suddenly start to matter. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Starts Earlier Than Ever We also now have dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and yes, it starts earlier than many fans expected. The 2026 party season runs from August 7 through October 31. That August 7 start puts Halloween planning in motion very early, even by Disney standards. That early start is one of the biggest practical takeaways from the whole week. If you are planning a late-summer trip, the line between summer and Halloween at Walt Disney World keeps getting thinner. Greg Gets a Firsthand Look at Disney Lakeshore Lodge Greg also checked out the construction progress at Disney Lakeshore Lodge, which Disney introduced on April 21 as a new waterfront retreat where guests and their loved ones will discover the wonder of nature through Disney storytelling. The project is one of the more interesting resort stories at Walt Disney World right now because it is being framed around atmosphere and setting as much as new-room inventory. Holly Checks In with Hallmark Happenings Holly was back as well with a quick Hallmark Happenings segment. That has become a nice recurring part of the show because it adds another lane for Disney collectors and nostalgia fans. The Hallmark 2026 Dream Book is now live digitally, and it includes new Disney Parks ornaments, including entries tied to attraction and park memories. That kind of update may not sound like a headline next to Star Wars Nite or Mickey's Not-So-Scary dates, but it fits the audience well. Disney fandom has always lived in the details, and Hallmark is one of those spaces where that detail-driven nostalgia shows up every year. Sam's Disneyland Report Went Beyond Star Wars What made this episode especially strong was that Sam's Disneyland report did not stop with Star Wars. He also looked at Bluey's Best Day Ever, which debuted at Disneyland park on March 22, 2026. Disney Parks Blog says the Fantasyland Theatre has been reimagined as Bluey's school, with Bluey and Bingo appearing in rotating show moments throughout the day, along with themed food and merchandise. [caption id="attachment_80752" align="aligncenter" width="1219"] Bluey and Bingo bring Bluey's Best Day Ever to Disneyland March 22 with shows, games, themed food, and new merch.[/caption] That matters because Bluey is not just another character meet and greet. It is one of the clearest examples of Disney leaning into what younger families are excited about right now, and doing it in a way that feels like a full offering instead of a quick overlay. Paint the Night Is Still a Draw at Disneyland Sam also covered Paint the Night, which remains one of the biggest reasons fans want to be in Disneyland after dark. Disney has said the fan-favorite parade is part of the Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary entertainment lineup and that the 70th celebration continues through August 9, 2026. That gives the parade extra weight this summer. It is not just back. It is part of a limited anniversary window, which makes it feel more urgent for fans trying to fit Disneyland into their 2026 plans. Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Was Wrapping Up Sam also touched on Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival just as it was wrapping up. That gave the show another useful Disneyland Resort perspective, because it let the conversation stretch beyond one single event night and into the broader seasonal experience across the resort. That is part of what made this special edition feel fuller than a simple Star Wars recap. It covered how much was happening across Disneyland at once, from Star Wars to Bluey to nighttime entertainment to the final stretch of the spring food festival. Watch the full live show below.
Under the California Sun, Scott does roam, humming the echoes of Good Vibrations along with foam. The Surfin' Safari begins at dawn, while the Fun, Fun, Fun of the waves rolls on.He pauses where the sea meets the God Only Knows sky, dreaming with a Wouldn't It Be Nice sigh. The breeze carries whispers of Don't Worry Baby near, as gulls cry melodies only his heart can hear.Through the sand, he traces a Sloop John B rhyme, tides singing I Get Around to the rhythm of time. When twilight falls on this Endless Summer shore, he'll leave with The Beach Boys in his soul forevermore. The Beach Boys were the last group to play at this year's Eat to the Beat concert series at the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival...and Scott finally got to see them in concert!During this episode, not only will you hear some of their music, you'll also hear about some of the great food, snacks, and fun and crazy cool experiences Scott had with his good friends, Karen, Brian, and Russell. As a bonus, you'll get to hear a bunch from Karen and Russell, two former Guests on The Mouse and Me. The Hamilton Recast - With Disney Characters We hope you've had a wonderful, safe & festive 4th of July Weekend. We celebrated, for the 5th year straight, by rewatching our favorite patriotic musical on Disney+. Of course, we're talking about Hamilton. While experiencing this phenomenal piece of art, we thought, what would it be like if some of our favorite characters were placed in the key roles of this show? And that led us to this week's main topic which we've titled The Hamilton Recast - With Disney Characters. With so many fantastic personalities both in this show and in Disney's catalog, there were a lot of ways we could go with this. Listen and see who we settled on to play the likes of the Schuyler Sisters, George Washington, Aaron Burr and, of course, Alexander Hamilton. See if you agree with our selections or if you have ideas for someone different in these roles. Disney Stories of the Week Once we complete The Hamilton Recast - With Disney Characters portion of the show, it's time for the Disney Stories of the Week. In this episode, we tell you when you may get the chance to get an early preview of Test Track 3.0. We also share who will be rocking the stage at this years EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. And we tell you about an upcoming tour for one of our favorite Disney Princesses; Tiana. You'll also get this week's Lin-Manuel Miranda tidbit as we continue our journey through "The Year of Lin"! Better yet, it's right in the middle of The Hamilton Recast portion of the show and it's done by Michelle. (Who we all know has the best #YearOfLin segments) Certainly, that's not all. If you are traveling to Walt Disney World in November 2024, here is what you need to know about the weather and more that will affect what you should pack and wear for your vacation. November signals not only a change in weather patterns, but also a seasonal change at Walt Disney World, as Christmas holiday vibes begin to take over the Most Magical Place on Earth, with a little Food & Wine and Thanksgiving added to the mix.How to Dress for November Weather and the Kick-Off to the Holiday Season at Walt Disney WorldNovember 2024 in Orlando is Shaping Up to Be a Pretty Good Weather MonthNovember at Walt Disney World is when the weather typically begins a cooling trend. This is particularly true in 2024, where warmer temperatures have hung on longer than usual through the month of October. While November won't exactly be cold, it is shaping up to a be a seasonally cooler month.Special events in November will have an impact on your vacation. From Christmas parties kicking off at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and Hollywood Studios, to seasonal activities at EPCOT and Thanksgiving on November 28, you can expect crowds to be bigger than they were in October. Still, it is not Christmas week by any means, so pack your patience and have fun enjoying the immersive ambiance all around you.Weather Forecast for Walt Disney World in November 2024The forecast for November 2024 at Walt Disney World sees a month that starts warm and then follows a gradual cooling trends as the weeks pass. For November 2024, Orlando and Walt Disney World daytime highs are forecast to range from 70°F (21°C) to 86°F (30°C), while nighttime lows will hover around 55°F (13°C) to 70°F (21°C). These temperatures are noticeably cooler than October, but still very pleasant for your vacation. The forecast calls for a gradual decline in both daytime highs and nighttime lows as November progresses. On a positive note, November at Walt Disney World is shaping up to be a relatively dry month, with only a few days of rain here or there popping up. Rain can be unpredictable in Orlando, at this point, November is looking pretty good. What to Pack for Walt Disney World in November 2024Packing for Walt Disney World in November 2024 means packing for a pleasant weather during the day and cooler weather at night. With Christmas cheer, the smell of gingerbread and holiday festivities setting the tone, it's fun to get into the spirit of the season and pack a seasonal outfit. Evenings will be cool, so if you're spending time outside after dark, a hoodie or light jacket is a good thing to bring. In addition to the Christmas parties, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival continues throughout the month of November, with its last day on November 23, 2024. So you can still bring along some themed clothes for that if you are a foodie who love to take part. Most days are warm enough for shorts if you like to hang on to them as long as possible, but you should pack something that will cover your legs at night. If you tend to get chilled when the temperatures dip into the 50s, bear that in mind when packing.Watch for extra crowds towards the end of the month when Thanksgiving falls upon Walt Disney World. If you are there at this time and you plan to dine out to celebrate, feel free to pack a nicer casual outfit to dine in style for Thanksgiving.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. This month we taste our way around the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, give our final Halloween Horror Night house rankings, and enjoy Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando!
Forgive me for not being out of the gate on the International Food & Wine event at Epcot this year. Honestly, I chose to take my time sampling from the menu rather than indulging all on one weekend. I also have tired of just doing food reviews for that alone. But I wanted to give some context to this year's review, and not simply do a quick food review--though there is still plenty of that for those wanting it. We look at how this lines up with the festival ten years ago, as well as last year's and a few others in between. What are the hits and what are the terrible misses? From food to entertainment to facilities, we look at all this and even whether coming to the Epcot festival today is better than attending ten years ago. You may be surprised at the answers, so join us for Epcot International Food & Wine: a 2014-2024 Comparative View. ________________________________________________ My new book, A Century of Powerful Disney Insights, Volume I 1923-1973, The Walt & Roy Disney Years is available! DONATE TO THE ZESTIt's the most delicious time of year at the Most Magical Place on Earth. We're talking about the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. The annual event takes place through Nov. 23 at EPCOT's World Showcase. That's the area of the theme park whose architecture replicates a bunch of different countries. One minute you're taking a selfie in front of a replica Eiffel Tower; next thing you know, you're climbing the steps of an Aztec temple in fake Mexico. Throughout the year, each “country” in EPCOT highlights its cuisine. But during the Food & Wine Festival, things get even more elaborate, with special kiosks featuring bespoke food and drinks.Dalia recently attended the festival, as did her WUSF colleagues Leslie Laney and Mark Schreiner. In this bonus Zest episode, they'll share their experience and offer tips for eating and drinking your way around the world.Related episodes:EPCOT Culinary Director Albert Youngman Brings a World of Flavors to FloridaJournalist Judith Smelser on Zoom Wine Tastings, Disney Sommeliers and How to Find Your Next Favorite Bottle of Wine“Happiest Plate on Earth” Podcast Hosts Dish on Disney DiningAJ Wolfe of Disney Food Blog

Send us a Text Message. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival first began in 1996. At the time, it was a modest event—just a 30-day celebration held in the fall. But even then, it was clear that Disney had tapped into something special. The festival was designed to enhance the park's World Showcase by offering guests the chance to sample global cuisines and fine wines, bringing a whole new layer of cultural immersion to the EPCOT experience. What started with just 25 global marketplaces scattered around World Showcase Lagoon has now grown into a massive event that stretches over several months, featuring over 30 marketplaces, celebrity chefs, cooking demonstrations, and even live entertainment. The festival has truly become a staple of EPCOT, attracting foodies from all over the world. Now, let's talk about what's in store for 2024. This year's festival will kick off on August 29th, and run through November 23rd. As always, guests can expect an incredible lineup of global marketplaces, offering small plates and beverages inspired by cuisines from around the world.
