Texas ranchers may be holding back on reporting screwworm infestations out of fear of the federal government's response as Robin Giles has been working the 13-thousand-acre hillingdon ranch in the hill country for 70 years that’s been in his family for over 130 years saying he's seen it all, including screwworms, the city of Austin is looking for a contractor to help out with the task of taking an inventory of the city's trees as city leaders say they want to follow the lead of other cities like Dallas, Denton, and Chicago who have all completed tree inventories, and the Texas education agency today is set to release the results of the STAAR test for grades 3 through 8. and the results could be very impactful for the Austin school district as Dobie, Webb, and Burnet middle schools have all failed to meet basic academic standards for four straight years and the STAAR test results factor largely into the T-E-A's overall accountability ratings for schools, and Austin ISD superintendent Matias Segura has been sounding the alarm that a fifth failing grade for any of those schools could cost them their local control.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

E-booki na 30 stron, obszerne raporty i długie poradniki – brzmi jak Twój sprawdzony sposób na pozyskiwanie leadów? W dobie sztucznej inteligencji, gdzie każdą odpowiedź można uzyskać w kilka sekund od ChatGPT czy Claude'a, tradycyjne materiały edukacyjne po prostu przestały działać. Klienci ściągają je, ale nigdy nie czytają, bo w natłoku obowiązków brakuje im czasu na przebijanie się przez ściany tekstu.W tym odcinku pokazuję, dlaczego w 2026 roku najlepszym lead magnetem nie jest już sama wiedza, ale konkretne narzędzie, które daje odbiorcy natychmiastowy rezultat. Zobacz, jak zmienić podejście, odwrócić dotychczasowy proces i zacząć tworzyć rozwiązania, których potencjalny klient od razu użyje – i dzięki którym ostatecznie zdecyduje się na współpracę z Tobą.Kalkulator e-commerce, o którym wspominam w trakcie trwania odcinka możesz przetestować na: https://suasio.pl/kalkulator-e-commerce/Generator tekstów reklamowych znajdziesz na stronie głównej: https://arturjablonski.comZ tego odcinka dowiesz się, m.in.:⚡ czy zwykłe poradniki wciąż mają sens jako lead magnet – dlaczego dzielenie się ogólnodostępną wiedzą już nie wystarczy, by przyciągnąć uwagę klientów;
A building can be poured in concrete, but the real reason we build is written in people. We start by celebrating a huge win for foster care through the One Life Banquet, then we shift to something even bigger: praying over the next generation and calling young adults to stop waiting for “someday” and start living Spirit-led today.From there, we open Nehemiah and ask the blunt question every church faces sooner or later: why build at all? Pastor Doby Weasel lays out a clear, challenging answer. We build because God told us to, and when God speaks, His call becomes divine permission to do what we could never do on our own. That truth collides with real life: discouragement, opposition, leadership pressure, and the temptation to look for an easy button that does not exist.The message keeps pulling us back to the main lens: eternity. If we can see it, it is temporary. If we cannot see it, it is eternal. That changes how we think about church growth, Christian stewardship, giving, and sacrifice. Along the way, we connect Nehemiah's rebuilding to Daniel's prophecy and the arrival of Jesus, then we measure the value of ministry the right way: changed lives, restored marriages, freedom from addiction, healing, hope, and a clear gospel invitation that ends with a heartfelt salvation prayer.If this encouraged you, share it with a friend who needs courage to obey God, then subscribe and leave a review so more people can find the message. What are you building right now with eternity in mind?Thanks for listening! Follow us on Facebook or YouTube.

//The Wire//2300Z December 11, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: AUSTRALIAN AGE VERIFICATION LAW COMES INTO EFFECT. ARRESTS MADE IN LAST WEEK'S STABBING ATTACK IN CHARLOTTE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Australia: Yesterday Australia's Age Verification law came into effect for most websites, effectively blocking the vast majority of social media to the entire nation, unless users upload a scan of their face to prove that they are over 16 years old, and thus allowed to be on social media.Caribbean: The tanker vessel seized by the United States yesterday has been identified as the M/T *SKIPPER*, one of the infamous "shadow fleet" vessels which is used to smuggle oil around the world. The *SKIPPER* was her most recent name change, and at the time of capture she was flying the flag of Guyana (though her registration status is dubious at best). As of this afternoon, AIS ship tracking platforms noted her position being just off the east coast of St. Lucia, heading north at around 10 kts.-HomeFront-North Carolina: More details have come to light regarding the stabbing attack that took place on the Blue Line commuter train in Charlotte last week. Back on December 5th, a stabbing was reported on the train, with the assailant eventually being arrested. At the time of the incident, the attacker was not identified, but after a few days authorities said the attacker was Oscar Gerardo Solorzano-Garcia, an illegal immigrant from Honduras who had multiple warrants out for past violent crimes, to include aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.Analyst Comment: From here, the situation takes a rather unfortunate turn. Solorzano stabbed a man on the train, who was hospitalized with severe wounds. Earlier this week, the victim was identified as Kenyon Dobie, and was lauded as a hero during the attack because of his efforts to confront the attacker to stop him from harassing other commuters. Dobie did intervene, and prevented the attacker from bothering other passengers, which resulted in him getting stabbed in the process. However, after this news story hit the local media, and the victim made statements in front of the camera, Dobie (the victim) was arrested. Turns out, he had open warrants for his own arrest for beating a pregnant woman so severely she received skull fractures during a domestic dispute. Both Solorzano and Dobie are being held in jail due to Iryna's Law preventing their release.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comment: Unlike many other cases of Digital ID being mandated around the world, Australia has implemented even more dystopian procedures to take effect during this rollout. Of note, the social media platforms which are known to cause extreme harm to children (such as Discord and Roblox) are exempt from the social media ban. However, the platforms that are affected, are impacted in very specific ways.As one might expect, VPNs are popular ways to circumvent such crackdowns on speech. However, the IP addresses associated with VPNs are public record, so social media companies can easily blacklist those IPs, effectively making VPNs useless for evading the ban. At least some platforms have been observed using these blacklists (but not all). For those in the United Kingdom wondering about how their own Digital ID scandal will play out, this might be a clue; Australia is providing a case study for what a more totalitarian crackdown on communications throughout the global West might look like.How serious platforms are taking this plan is anyone's guess, and reports vary widely. Some users report no issues whatsoever with being prompted to verify their age, whereas others have reported every app they have now requiring a face scan. Some users report that they can simply put in a false date of birth with no verification at all, and others report their accounts being hard-locked even though the mandate does

Send us a textA quiet click in a digital archive set off a bigger question: how did a tidy tale about the “Western Trail” in 1873 outrun the dusty, documented truth of 1874? We follow the breadcrumb trail from a glossy magazine headline to the rail-choked streets of Dodge City, where buffalo hides, not longhorns, drove the economy. From there, we trace John T. Lytle's government contract to feed the Sioux, the mapped river crossings, and the August 1, 1874 deadline that defined the first verified drive.Along the way, we meet J. Frank Dobie—ranch-born, campus-bound, and unapologetically devoted to story over footnote. Dobie prized living voices more than ledgers, and he found a perfect partner in Frank Collinson, an Englishman turned cowboy who wrote his memories decades after the fact. Collinson likely helped gather cattle in late 1873 and later fused that groundwork with the 1874 trailblazing into one clean narrative. It's a classic compression: a roundup becomes a “first drive,” and a modern brand name—“Great Western Trail”—is retrofitted to the past until it feels original.We don't stop at debunking. We explore why these stories endure, how civic branding amplified a legend, and what's at stake when heritage tourism, folklore, and archival history collide. The lesson isn't to toss out the campfire tale. It's to read it alongside the map: let the archive keep the dates straight while the storytellers keep the culture alive. By the end, you'll see how a name, a narrative, and a single year can redirect the memory of the West—and why holding fact and fable in tension gives us a richer, more honest past.If this journey changed how you think about Western history, follow the show, leave a review, and share it with a friend who loves a good trail story.Support the showIf you'd like to buy one or more of our fully illustrated dime novel publications, you can click the link I've included.

Most of us have been in the trenches long enough to know when something's about to flip the script. And brother, we're standing at the edge of a cliff most data folks don't even see coming. Rob Collie thought he had Power BI figured out. Then Copilot did something impossible; it cracked a question that should've left it scratching its digital head. But it didn't just answer. It nailed it. That's what we're calling the Dobie Moment—when AI stops being a fancy calculator and starts being genuinely scary-smart. Here's the thing nobody's talking about, your semantic models aren't just sitting there anymore. They're waking up. And when Rob and Justin break down what happened in this episode, you'll see exactly why that should make you sweat a little. They're not here to blow smoke. They'll show you the magic, sure, but more importantly, they'll show you where the landmines are buried. Because when AI starts connecting dots you didn't even know existed, confidence and correctness become two very different animals. Bottom line: The future of data just knocked on your door. You can pretend you didn't hear it, or you can listen to this episode and actually be ready when your models have their own moment of reckoning. Your call. But don't say we didn't warn you.

In his sermon, Pastor Dobie Weasel emphasizes the significance of the "good news" or euangelion in Christianity, highlighting that it's a proclamation of hope and salvation. He shares personal stories, illustrating how bad news often makes good news even sweeter, like finding a way back to safety after being lost. Pastor Dobie underscores that Jesus saves, heals, and delivers, offering a message of redemption to those in darkness. Thanks for listening! Follow us on Facebook or YouTube.
One of the people that inspired J. Frank Dobie to devote his career to writing about Texas and preserving the stories and folk ways of the Southwest was John Avery Lomax. Lomax lived from 1867 to 1948 and during those years he did a considerable amount of work to preserve and record American folk music, especially the folk music of the cowboys. He was born in Mississippi but came to Texas in 1869 in a covered wagon. His family settled on a farm near Meridian and he spent many of his formative years growing up near the Chisholm Trail and witnessed the trail drives passing by firsthand. Lomax was also instrumental, along with another of Dobie's mentors, Leonidas Warren Payne, in creating the Texas Folklore Society in 1909, and three of Lomax's children also went on to preserving American folk songs. He published several books on folklore, including Cowboy Songs and Other Frontier Ballads in 1910 and Songs of the Cattle Trail and Cow Camp in 1919. He published his autobiographical Adventures of a Ballad Hunter in 1947, not long before his death in 1948. This episode shares some information from a presentation Lomax gave at a folklore society meeting in San Marcos. In it he shares some knowledge on the Texas cowboy's speech and mode of living. You might think that you know everything about cowboy culture but I'd bet there's something in it that will surprise you. I've edited it slightly to make it more readable in print form and a little bit more polite in a couple of places. Visit the Texas History Lessons Substack and help support the show.
