The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has lodged an urgent application in the Gauteng High Court to halt former NDPP Shamila Batohi's pension and post‑term gratuities pending a review. The party also wants to reverse funding for her legal costs in the Nkabinde Inquiry, arguing payments must be lawful and rational amid alleged misconduct. The MK says concerns raised during Batohi's testimony at the inquiry require scrutiny before any benefits are disbursed. The three‑part case is scheduled for hearing in March. Chapter 7 of Why This Confusion In The Temple by Dwight L. Smith talks about how the fraternity has to be careful about publicizing anything about the fraternity. Most Masons and Lodges don't think this all the way through, and the results can be more injurious than helpful. The operator of a car park near the Cliffs of Moher is lodging an appeal to retain their business. Clare County Council refused Mary and Patrick Nagle planning permission to continuing running the Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk Car Park in Liscannor in December on the grounds that the facility isn't needed as the walk is currently closed in the area. The couple, who've been running the business since 2012, have now appealed the decision to An Coimisiún Pleanála. Mary says despite the closure of the trail, there remains high demand for parking at the site.
