//The Wire//2300Z June 25, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: TWO MAJOR EARTHQUAKES STRIKE VENEZUELA, WIDESPREAD DEVASTATION REPORTED. SEPARATE EARTHQUAKE STRIKES JAPAN. HORMUZ CRISIS CONTINUES AS IRAN STRIKES MERCHANT FOR TAKING UNAUTHORIZED ROUTE THROUGH STRAIT. OIL PRODUCTION SHUT DOWN IN IRAQ DUE TO LACK OF TANKERS TO OFFLOAD CRUDE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Venezuela: Yesterday afternoon two major earthquakes struck just west of Caracas. The first earthquake struck shortly after 4:00pm local time, and was estimated to be a magnitude of 7.2. Less than one minute later, a separate earthquake struck in nearly the same area, measuring a magnitude of 7.5. Widespread destruction has been reported throughout La Guaira, the coastal metropolitan area that was closest to the epicenter of the quakes. Many structures within Caracas also experienced heavy damage, or were destroyed outright by the earthquakes, and major rescue and recovery operations are underway.Analyst Comment: This disaster is already one of the worst ever recorded in South America, and so far the casualty count is expected to be in the thousands. Right now, the latest figures estimate roughly 11,000 missing with thousands of people currently entrapped within collapsed buildings. Due to the complete devastation throughout much of the region, the true scale of yesterday's earthquakes may take some time to become known, though the videos that have emerged so far indicate devastation on an unfathomable scale.Japan: Overnight, another earthquake was reported off the coast of the northern province of Iwate. An earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.2 struck just offshore, however not much damage was reported due to the remote nature of the epicenter.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, the situation has become complicated on multiple fronts. Firstly, the peace talks continue, which at this point is good news all on it's own, even if rhetoric has been flying all around. None of this rhetoric is trustworthy at the moment, but progress appears to be made toward solidifying a final deal.Another point of confusion or contention over the past 24 hours has been the complicated management of the Strait of Hormuz. Oil is flowing to some degree, and though the number of tankers transiting crude out of the Gulf is nowhere near historic norms, progress is progress. This progress was briefly derailed this morning, after Iranian forces conducted a drone strike on one vessel which was attempting to take the southern route through Omani waters. Ships have been disregarding Iranian demands to take the northern route for a few days, and this morning Iranian patience apparently ran out, and one vessel was hit. How the US responds to this will be notable, but right now the complicating factors are the discrepancies of which routes are being used by ships.More broadly, global oil futures have fallen sharply since the announcement of the MOU being signed, and gas prices are subsequently falling. However, gas prices still remain at around $4.00 per gallon nationwide, because there is still a large discrepancy between the futures prices, and the actual delivery price of crude that is being pumped off of tankers into the United States right now. As a result it is important to understand how long this recovery process will take. For instance, yesterday the West Qurna 2 petroleum facility in Iraq (one of the largest oil fields in the world) had to shut down production, because their storage tanks are full, and there are no tankers available to load onto for export. This is simply due to timing...nothing moves fast when it comes to moving tankers around the world. This is why the world may breathe a sigh of relief that the war appears to be over at this point, but we're not out of the woods just yet. The next major questions will be whether or not the complex balance of oil production and maritime shipping can stabilize before the more serious impacts arrive. And now that the Iranians have continued to demonstrate that they are willing to enforce their control of the Strait with explosives, this crisis is certainly not over.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 24, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: OPERATION TO ORGANIZE EVACUATION OF PERSIAN GULF UNDERWAY AS MERCHANT SHIPS PREPARE TO TRANSIT THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ. DOZENS OF SUSPECTED TERRORISTS ARRESTED IN TURKEY BEFORE NATO SUMMIT.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Strait of Hormuz: Coordination efforts have begun regarding the large-scale evacuation of ships through the waterway. Due to the humanitarian crisis which has stricken over 11,000 mariners on almost 2,000 ships throughout the Gulf, efforts are underway by Iran, Oman, and the United States to organize an orderly movement through the now vastly restricted waterway.Analyst Comment: This time, the Iranians seem to be on board with the idea of a mass exodus of stranded vessels from the Gulf. The International Maritime Organization has advised ships to hold fast until a more solidified plan can be arranged, which is taking some time to coordinate due to the minefield greatly restricting the navigable passages and making collisions much more likely if hundreds of ships try to move all at once. Similarly, many vessels are now in a poor state of repair after having been at anchor in warm salt water for several months, so the chances of a ship having mechanical issues of some kind is very high, which is less than ideal in a crowded traffic scheme where naval mines are still a concern.Turkey: Counterterrorism raids have swept through Ankara as part of the increased security efforts ahead of the upcoming NATO summit. During the raids, approximately 200x individuals suspected to be affiliated with ISIS have been arrested, with at least one raid resulting in a shootout between the suspect and police.Analyst Comment: The ISIS presence within Turkey has been expanding for a while, as Turkey has taken on a substantial number of refugees, most of which came from Syria during the civil war a few years ago.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - Due to the growing vandalism incidents, yesterday work crews were observed putting up fencing around some sections of the reflecting pool, as the renovation project continues and public interest in the project continues to grow.Analyst Comment: This would ordinarily be a non-story that is more of an annoyance than anything else. However this is becoming more of a significant point of pushing back against the Executive branch. Once egos get involved on all sides, something as mundane as a pool lining can become a point for escalation.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Discrepancies continue to mount in the Middle East as the finer details of the MOU are being worked out. The past few days have been host to the United States making claims regarding what the Iranians have agreed to, which the Iranians have promptly rejected. Yesterday, many American diplomats stated that Iran had agreed to let IAEA inspectors back in to their country to monitor nuclear sites. Immediately after these statements, the Iranian foreign ministry directly stated that this was not true, and that no inspectors would be allowed in. Similarly, President Trump stated that Iran has also agreed to not charge any fees after the 60-day negotiating period is over. Iranian diplomats have frequently stated that this is not true, and that an "insurance fee" will be charged moving forward. Oman also issued a statement confirming that fees will be charged by Iran in the future. During periods of negotiation, statements tend to be made not exactly in the interest of truth, but for reasons of securing a more favorable position. When we reach a point of where both sides are accusing each other of lying about easily verifiable facts, the only thing to do is wait and see what the truth works out to be.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//1800Z June 23, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: DETAILS CLARIFY SEQUENCE OF EVENTS REGARDING YESTERDAYS SHOOTING IN MONTREAL. ISRAELI FORCES CONTINUE ADVANCE NORTHWARD IN LEBANON. MASS SHOOTING REPORTED AT CALIFORNIA LIBRARY.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Lebanon: Overnight Israeli forces continued their advance toward Ali al-Taher further extending their salient northward. Several airstrikes were reported throughout the area as the IDF advanced into Hezbollah-held terrain, which prompted Hezbollah to repel the advance, which in turn resulting in more airstrikes from the IDF.Strait of Hormuz: Commercial maritime traffic has continued, however so far the total number of ships transiting the waterway has remained sharply reduced compared to pre-war levels; a couple of dozen ships have transited daily since the MOU was signed, which is less than the 100+ ships that transited before the war. Analyst Comment: The traffic has continued despite the Iranian threats to close the Strait, though maritime shipping companies are still trying to figure out the logistics of how this is going to work out. So far, the Iranian "toll" route to the north is the only route being used right now, though the Iranians have waived the fee for the 60-day period in which the final peace deal is being worked out. However, all merchant vessels are now required to obtain a permit from the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), the new Iranian entity that is controlling access to the Gulf.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - Demonstrations and vandalism attempts have continued on the National Mall, as Pro-Algae activists have remained at the site of the reflecting pool renovation project. So far, a handful of people have been arrested for trying to tamper with the reflecting pool in various ways, and the National Guard has stepped up foot patrols in the area in response.California: Yesterday afternoon a mass shooting was reported at the Butte County Library in Chico. One gunman entered the library shortly after 5:00pm local time, and began shooting visitors inside. Police immediately responded to the facility, and the shooter was apprehended in a wooded area immediately outside the library as the security cordon was established. Concerning casualties, the library was mostly empty at the time of the shooting, however two people were killed and one child was wounded by the shooter during the attack. Analyst Comment: The suspect has been identified as Bradley Scott Sayer, who reportedly lived in Chico. Sayer allegedly made statements after being arrested, claiming that he attempted to carry out a massacre at the library reminiscent of previous mass shootings.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In Canada, more information has come to light regarding the attempted mass shooting yesterday. The sequence of events remains uncertain, however the investigation has revealed that much of the information the responders were making decisions on in the heat of the moment, was actually erroneous. The initial details of a shooter being on foot in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood do not appear to be true, nor were the initial claims of the gunman being inside the grocery store, and it is not clear as to why police were observed at either location. The shooter was actually located inside an improvised firing position inside a hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn. From this position, he began firing at the corporate office building across the street. The target of this shooting was the headquarters building for Aylo...a "software company" which is actually the parent company for websites hosting "adult" content. The assailant began the attack by shooting through his hotel room window, into the corporate office building. After firing an unknown number of rounds, the shooter exited the hotel, and ran up and down Av. de Courtrai searching for targets (which is possibly the reason for the police initially thinking the shooter was in the grocery store). Eyewitness statements during the fog of war are not the most accurate, and pinpointing the shooter's whereabouts after departing the hotel is challenging, and at this point reports emerged of a second possible shooter being located in the same area (which turned out to be false). Eventually, the shooter attempted to make entry to the Aylo building, but was unable to do so before police spotted the shooter and the final skirmish began.Concerning the victims, the man who was accidentally shot by police at the entrance to the Aylo building has been identified as Michael Moshe Mizrahi, an Israeli citizen and local Rabbi for the heavily-Jewish community that surrounds the site of the shooting. Last night, Montreal Police identified the officer that was killed as Officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane. The status of the female officer who was wounded remains unclear, though some sources claim that she remains in critical condition at a hospital. Regarding the shooter, the suspect has been identified as Seth Hatfield, and a manifesto was allegedly sent to various media groups right around the time of the attack. The manifesto itself is a little long for these types of documents at 104 pages long, and despite the first page of the document widely circulating social media (and thus attributing motive), nearly the entire document is promoting Communism and encouraging violent revolution, which seems to be the predominant motivation for the attack.More details are expected as the investigation continues, and special focus will likely be placed on clarifying the details of what led to the initial police response being observed so far from the actual shooting site, as well as what actually transpired within the hotel, and on the street between the initial first shots, and the final engagement. Another unresolved detail is any coordination or prior-knowledge of the attack by any co-conspirators. The shooter's manifesto specifically mentions other works and writings by the shooter, which presumably had an audience of probably more than just the shooter himself. Based on the writings of the assailant, he clearly thought of himself as an academic, and wrote extensively on various pro-Communist ideas. As such, figuring out whether or not this individual acted alone will be a focal point moving forward.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 22, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: TERRORIST ATTACK REPORTED IN MONTREAL AS SHOOTER CONDUCTS MULTIPLE ENGAGEMENTS THROUGHOUT RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. KEIR STARMER RESIGNS AS PRIME MINISTER. SITUATION IN LEBANON REMAINS TENUOUS AS ISRAELIS REFUSE TO HALT ATTACKS. STABBING ATTACK REPORTED IN SCOTLAND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Qatar: Last night an industrial accident was reported at one of the main natural gas terminals in Ras Laffan, which was in the process of being restarted to resume production after the war. The Qataris claim that this was not the direct result of combat action, however the incident killed a total of 13x people, and injured roughly 50x others.United Kingdom: This morning Keir Starmer resigned as Prime Minister. This resignation is not immediate, and is expected to result in some form of leadership contest later on. Analyst Comment: Andy Burnham is likely to be his replacement, but this process will take a few months to develop as the formalized party efforts to select their new PM continue over the next few weeks.Scotland: Over the weekend a stabbing attack was reported in Edinburgh. One assailant attempted to conduct a stabbing on Lieth Walk, near a row of shops and businesses. Initial reports claimed that a total of 5x people were wounded during this attack, but this remains unconfirmed at this time.Analyst Comment: Due to the nature of the attack, the media coverage has been extensive, although very few details are known regarding how the attack began. Of note, several photos appearing to be AI-generated have circulated following this attack, so it is challenging to determine which photos are real and which are "AI-enhanced". More details will undoubtedly come in due time, which may clarify what actually happened.Canada: This afternoon a shooting was reported in Montreal, as one assailant attempted to conduct a mass shooting in the vicinity of the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood. One gunman equipped with an SKS-type rifle and web gear, began the attack by engaging police along one of the streets of this community. Eventually, this skirmish transitioned to the Westbury Supermarche PA at the north end of Av. de Courtrai, with the shooter taking up a position inside the supermarket. As police advanced on this location and began breaching the supermarket, the shooter egressed two blocks to the southwest, where the shooter made contact with the police cordon at the corner of Av. de Courtrai and Decarie Boulevard. At this location, a close-range small arms engagement broke out between the shooter and two officers, which resulted in one officer being killed in action. During the fray, the other officer accidentally shot a bystander, who was attempting to seek cover from the shooter. After shooting the civilian, the officer broke contact and maneuvered to a different position away from the shooter, and in doing so was shot in the back. A few moments later, the shooter was neutralized by other officers who were maneuvering south down Courtrai avenue, from the grocery store.Analyst Comment: The circumstances of how the shooting began are unclear. The initial footage of the incident begins at the grocery store, however SWAT was already chasing someone on foot in the residential neighborhood several blocks to the east of the shooting site. Also, the only victims of the shooting so far appear to be the officer that was shot by the suspect, and the civilian that was erroneously shot by police. The reasoning for why police (and especially tactical units such as SWAT) were already on the scene is possibly due to the shooter sending his manifesto to media groups before the attack began. More details are expected overnight as the shooter's identity and the sequence of events become more clear.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, the status of the tentative peace deal remains uncertain, but in Switzerland, the talks appear to be continuing to some degree. The Iranian delegation did walk out after President Trump threatened to kill them during a phone interview with Fox News. Specifically President Trump threatened to kidnap/kill the negotiating team if Iran closes the Strait again in response to Israeli advances in Lebanon. Upon these remarks being broadcast, the Iranian delegation walked out of a photo op that had been planned with VP Vance, although they did not completely halt the talks.Concerning Lebanon, PM Netanyahu has stated many times that Israeli forces will not depart Lebanon, and over the weekend the IDF continued to consolidate the gains made so far. No withdrawal of the IDF has been noted in any way, which is a non-starter the peace process, but the reason for this is probably not just about politics and attempting to assert dominance. The tactical situation on the ground is not great and the sudden signature of the MOU (ahead of schedule) appears to have caught the IDF in a predicament. If the IDF were to halt their forward progress right now, they would be at a military disadvantage as they mostly occupy the low terrain in Tabieh, northward along the Litani River basin. The IDF has just barely gotten a foothold on the northwestern side of the Litani, infamously capturing the historic Beaufort Castle last week, which serves as the only real tactically-advantageous terrain along this eastern front. As a result, the IDF knows that they will get pounded by Hezbollah's rockets if they stay where they are, especially since they have overextended themselves to the point that a salient (or bulge in the lines) has emerged, exposing this spearhead to attacks from three sides. This vulnerability has been noted by the attack on the armored armored column a few days ago, which was advancing north in Nabatiyeh. The IDF could of course always resolve their disadvantage in terrain by stopping their invasion of Lebanon and withdrawing to their own borders, but this is absolutely not going to happen at this point. What's far more likely is for the IDF to continue pushing until they fully seize and consolidate the high ground east of Et Taher. From there, they will be able to look down on the collection of towns that make up the greater Nabatieh area. How this will work out is anybody's guess, as the IDF is not exactly accustomed to fighting ground advances of several miles from their own borders with a serious and well-equipped adversary like Hezbollah. Bottom line: The situation in Lebanon is messy and very unlikely to be resolved anytime soon due to the military situation on the ground. As Lebanon is a central focus point for the US/Iran deal, the proverbial 'rock' has met the typical 'hard place' and this is going to be a problem for the deal moving forward.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 19, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: WAR IN LEBANON INTENSIFIES OVERNIGHT, IRANIAN DELEGATION DEPARTS SWITZERLAND AS STATUS OF PEACE TALKS REMAINS UNCERTAIN. UNIDENTIFIED MAN THROWS CHILD IN CROCODILE PIT IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE BEFORE BEING IMMEDIATELY RELEASED BY POLICE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: After the ceasefire document was signed in Versailles yesterday, Israeli forces conducted large-scale bombing campaigns in Lebanon. Dozens of airstrikes were reported along the southern and eastern fronts as the cities of Maifadoun, Nabatieh, and Toul were heavily targeted this morning. The number of casualties remains unknown as most of the region surrounding this cluster of towns was destroyed by the bombing. At some point during the night, Hezbollah conducted an ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) attack on an IDF tank which killed four crewmembers. This prompted an even more substantial IDF response, which continued throughout the night. By morning, several reports of a ceasefire emerged between the IDF and Hezbollah, scheduled to take place at 4:00pm local time. However, as of this report several strikes have taken place after the ceasefire, and the status of the alleged halt to the fighting remains uncertain.Analyst Comment: As the bombing in Lebanon has continued throughout this morning, limited reporting out of Switzerland suggests that the Iranian delegation has departed ahead of schedule, and peace talks have been halted. Some initial reports also circulated stating that the Strait of Hormuz had been re-closed as well, however as of this report this might have been a knee-jerk reaction that has been mitigated and merchant traffic has continued to increase throughout the Persian Gulf this afternoon.United Kingdom: This morning an attack was reported at Johnsons of Old Hurst, a tourist farm/venue in Cambridgeshire. The incident involved a 30-year-old man (who was attended by two caregivers), snatching a 3-year-old child, and throwing him into the crocodile enclosure at the small zoo section of the farm. The zoo owner's wife jumped into the enclosure and rescued the boy, while visitors detained the man who conducted the attack.Analyst Comment: The assailant had no connection with the victim, and the attack appears to be random. This case has added to the already-high levels of outrage as the suspect's name and appearance is being withheld...but he's already been released from police custody, as the police deemed him too mentally ill to even be interviewed. Instead, he was released from custody altogether. The boy who was thrown into the enclosure was bitten by a crocodile, and remains hospitalized undergoing treatment.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: If the bombing in Lebanon carries on, the peace deal has little chance of lasting the weekend. In fact, it might already be too late if the Iranians decide that the United States is not capable of constraining the Israelis in Lebanon. The White House has attempted to tame the situation by reportedly assuring the Iranians that the targeting is over, however as this reporting hit social media, the Israeli's were still hitting Lebanon. Also, reports on the timing of last night's events vary somewhat. Some reports claim that the Israeli's were only responding to the targeting of the armored column, which prompted the bombing. However, the tank that was hit was advancing (not withdrawing) and at the time it was located about 6 miles into Lebanese territory on the northwest side of the Litani River. Also, some reports claim that the bombing campaign actually began before the tank was struck by Hezbollah, but these local reports are hard to verify. In the context of the peace agreement that has found itself on rocky ground, the targeting efforts overnight were not a small engagement...this was a substantial bombing campaign that is probably the IDF's biggest push so far in Lebanon. Many locations were completely leveled and it's quite clear that the Israelis gave some cities throughout southern Lebanon a miniature version of the Gaza treatment last night. It is quite possible that this is the standard final punch below the belt after the bell, and it would have been extremely naive for either the United States or Iran to not assume that this would happen immediately upon a ceasefire agreement being signed. As a result, it's not certain as to if this will outright derail the deal; this may have been an assumption that was already baked in to what the U.S. and Iran agreed to behind closed doors. Nevertheless the main issue for the world, the Strait of Hormuz, remains the main point of leverage. If the Iranians want to press the issue by closing the Strait again, that's up to them and so far it's hard to say how they might handle the issue. Both sides can see the elephant in the room, and both sides know the difficulty in addressing it. The next big friction point will be in determining what this stunt has cost the American diplomatic team in terms of negotiating terms and getting the Iranians back to the table.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

UKRAINIAN DRONE ATTACK STRIKES PETROLEUM INFRASTRUCTURE IN MOSCOW.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: Last night President Trump and President Pezeshkian signed the Memorandum of Understanding to start the process of ending the war. The agreement was signed early, while President Trump was participating in a state dinner with President Macron in Versailles. Two different physical copies of the document were signed, one in English and one in the Persian language of Farsi. Analyst Comment: President Pezeshkian also signed the document on camera in Tehran, and provided scans of the document he signed, and so far the terms themselves are identical to what was disclosed by CNN yesterday, or at least they appear to be. The American copy of the deal has not yet been published by the White House.Strait of Hormuz: This afternoon CENTCOM announced the lifting of the American blockade, and some merchant traffic is moving, with one French LNG tanker, and a few Saudi tankers exiting the Strait overnight. A few dozen other ships have continued to enter/exit the Persian Gulf over the past few days (mostly local or Iranian-aligned traffic), and all shipping has so far used the new Iranian route to the north of the traditional traffic separation scheme.Russia: Overnight, Ukraine conducted a large scale drone attack on Moscow, targeting petroleum infrastructure. Ukraine conducted the attack with hundreds of long-range drones, with most being intercepted before reaching their targets. However, several drones successfully evaded air defenses, striking the Kapotnya Refinery to the southeast of the city.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: The strikes in Moscow are the latest escalation this fighting season, with both sides trading attacks on major cities over the past few months. Russia has been hitting Kiev with hundreds of drones each week, and Ukraine has likewise been targeting Russian oil infrastructure throughout the nation. This is no different than how the war has been fought so far, but at this late hour, the ferocity of the efforts on all sides has become intense. Both sides seek to make as much progress as possible before winter, with the Russians looking to continue their advances on the Eastern Front, while the Ukrainians want to strike deep into Russia to pressure the Russian population and economy. Time will tell how this develops over the next few weeks, but with alleged peace ideations being present on both sides of this conflict, both sides will continue tradition, and try to take ground before approaching the negotiating table once again.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

INTERSTATE SHOOTING SPREE CONDUCTED IN KANSAS CITY. RAPE GANG INQUIRY REPORT RELEASED IN UNITED KINGDOM.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: This morning, the United States published the text of the upcoming Memorandum of Understanding, which is to be signed on Friday. This disclosure was made by American officials to CNN and Bloomberg at the G7 summit, who verbally read the terms and provided the text to MSM outlets. Per this text, the general gist of the deal is very similar to what the Iranians claim, but with some minor differences. The most contentious item of the deal is right up front in Paragraph 1: the war in Lebanon is included as part of the deal. All sanctions on Iran will also be lifted, and a $300 billion reparations payment will be funded by the United States and other Arab nations for the reconstruction of Iran's infrastructure that was destroyed in the war. President Trump also verbally stated that Iran's missile program will remain, and is not part of the deal.Strait of Hormuz: The status of shipping remains uncertain as both sides continue to enforce the mutual blockades. Several Iranian ships have crossed the American blockade line, despite NAVCENT stating that the blockade is still in effect, but western-aligned ships have been hesitant to make the crossing due to the confusion.Analyst Comment: Right now a lot of commercial firms and insurance companies are trying to figure out what to do, and a surge of petroleum tankers is heading toward the Middle East right now, as the world awaits the resumption of normal shipping this weekend. The US and Iran have thirty days after Friday to allow shipping to resume, but 60 days after the agreement is signed, Iran will retain the right to charge tolls for access to the Persian Gulf, granting the Iranians de facto control of the waterway. As a result, the insurance status of commercial shipping remains unclear, though rates will very likely be permanently elevated, much like how many shipping companies never reverted back to the Red Sea route following the Houthi targeting two years ago. Many companies still take the longer route around Africa, so that situation has not yet returned to normal, and though alternative access routes for the Persian Gulf don't really exist, it will take many months for shipping to work out the details of how to proceed.-HomeFront-Missouri: Last night, a mass shooting spree was reported throughout Kansas City as one assailant conducted small arms attacks at five different sites throughout the city. Local authorities state that all of these shootings stem from the same incident, which appears to involve an individual in a vehicle, traveling eastbound on I-70 shooting at other vehicles also traveling the same direction. Later that night, a fifth shooting site was located after a man was found wounded in his vehicle at the intersection of Truman Road and Bennington Avenue. This man later died at a local hospital. All total, five different vehicles were targeted, and a total of four people were wounded, and one person killed, during the attacks throughout the day. By this morning, the link between all shootings was discovered, and the suspect was located at his residence in Independence, where a barricaded-shooter situation is currently underway. More details are expected as the situation develops.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the United Kingdom, the Rape Gang Inquiry Report was released last night. This report was compiled by a Parliamentary effort led by MP Rupert Lowe, with the goal of investigating the official documents and criminal cases of mass the rape of British society by Pakistani men since the 1950's. Specifically, the investigation seeks to examine the industrialization of rape, organized into cells or Rape Gangs, which conducted assaults on a scale never before seen by the civilized world. This report revealed that an minimum of 250,000 British girls have been systemically raped, tortured, and victimized by these gangs, which included a large percentage of police officers, judges, and Members of Parliament. An entire ecosystem had been established for the police to arrest any victims of the gangs, with victims in most cases being raped hundreds of times by police officers while allegedly being in victim protection programs, even after the scandal became public years ago. Nearly 40% of the land mass of the nation was host to these gangs, which were not conducting isolated attacks, but industrial-scale crimes at a volume that is simply indescribable. The 200+ page report is not for the faint of heart as it describes in excruciating detail the evidence examined in this case, and nearly all of it is too horrific for mixed company. The closest approximation for a wider audience would be to imagine a network of hundreds of thousands of Jeffrey Epsteins, committing acts that were so horrific that Epstein's own network did not engage in this level of depravity. For most people, this document will be the absolute worst thing they will ever read in their entire life.Right now, the western world is at an impasse. The recent social tension in the U.K. due to the stabbing attacks has served as a primer for whatever comes next. Understanding the severity of this report, the National Crime Agency has snapped-to, and ordered the re-investigation of rape gang reports going back to 2010, in an attempt to get ahead of the tidal wave of righteous anger that has begun to rise throughout society. The entire Child Services ecosystem of the United Kingdom is currently serving as a clearing house to funnel a quarter of a million children to Muslim rape gangs. Kier Starmer himself was the director of Public Prosecutions during the height of this atrocity, and personally signed off on ~13,000 rape gang members being released with nothing more than a warning letter. If these people were sent a letter, that means they have names and addresses. It will be for the British people to decide how best to proceed, and it will take some time for organizational efforts to take hold, considering the sheer scale of this crisis. It will also be wise to consider that this problemset is not unique (nor contained) to the British Isles.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 16, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: ALLEGED TERRORISM PLOT FOILED AT WHITE HOUSE UFC EVENT. MASS 911 CALL CENTER OUTAGE REPORTED LAST NIGHT. B-52 CRASHES IN CALIFORNIA. RUSSIAN WARSHIP FIRES WARNING SHOTS NEAR YACHT IN THE ENGLISH CHANNEL.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-English Channel: This morning a Russian warship engaged a private yacht 20 miles off the coast of the Isle of Wight. The Krivak V-Class Frigate (FFG) Admiral Grigorovich fired warning shots in the general vicinity of privately owned yacht, which did allegedly not heed audible warnings to steer clear, and was approaching their position outside Britain's territorial waters. No damage or casualties were reported during the incident, and two Royal Navy vessels were also on station, shadowing the Grigorovich during the incident.Analyst Comment: The proverbial business appears to be getting out of control on the high seas, and this is the latest escalation to occur in the region over the past few days. Two days ago, the Royal Navy boarded and seized the Russian dark-fleet tanker (the M/T SMYRTOS) in the Channel, continuing the recent trend of NATO members capturing ships smuggling oil from Russia, to the global grey-market. As a result, this little spat could be more along the lines of diplomacy by warning shot.Middle East: As the peace settlement continues to move toward a signing on Friday, the Iranians and Americans are continuing to enforce the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Overnight, at least one vessel was reportedly fired upon by the Iranians for attempting to transit the Strait without prior coordination, however this has not been confirmed by the UKMTO yet.-HomeFront-USA: Yesterday evening mass waves of 911 call center outages were reported. Disruptions to emergency services were noted in Iowa, Arizona, Texas, and Washington due to the outage, and no further details have been provided on the cause of the incident.California: A crash of a B-52 Stratofortress was reported at Edwards Air Force Base during a routine training mission testing a new radar system. The crash reportedly took place immediately after takeoff, and the circumstances of the incident have not yet been disclosed. All 8x members of the crew were killed in the crash.Washington D.C. - Following Sunday's UFC event on the White House lawn, the FBI has released the details of an alleged terror attack targeting the venue. So far, five suspects have been arrested by federal authorities for attempting to carry out a complex coordinated attack at the event. Per the FBI, the attack was alleged to have utilized sniper teams, explosive drones, and a breach of the perimeter fence.Analyst Comment: Right now, very few details have been provided on what would have been one of the most substantial terrorist attacks in recent memory. This would also be one of the very few terror attacks that was foiled ahead of time, and many questions remain regarding the circumstances of this whole affair.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Contradictions also continue regarding the status of the peace deal in the Middle East. Yesterday, President Trump took to social media to explicitly state that the $300 million (sic) payment to Iran that is part of the leaked deal terms, is fake news. However, this morning Vice President Vance flat-out confirmed that the Iranians will have access to a $300 Billion fund, which will be made available to Iran as part of their cooperation in the agreement. As a result of these contradictions, the contents of the peace deal remain up in the air, even though the document has already been digitally signed by all parties, pending the wet signature ceremony on Friday. U.K. IMPLEMENTS SOCIAL MEDIA BAN FOR CHILDREN, ADULTS NOW REQUIRED TO SUBMIT TO DIGITAL ID TO PROVE THEY AREN'T CHILDREN.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: Last night, the United States and Iran allegedly came to an agreement regarding the Memorandum of Understanding to work toward a settlement to the war. Immediately after the announcement was made, Israeli forces conducted strikes in Beirut. President Trump himself admitted that this was an attack that should not have happened due to it disrupting the peace process. So far Iran has let this one go, and has not responded to the Israeli efforts to derail the agreement. The agreement is scheduled to be signed on Friday.Analyst Comment: As of right now, the Strait of Hormuz is NOT open. NAVCENT has posted an update reminding all merchant traffic that both blockades are still in place, and no change of orders has been transmitted yet from the White House. On Friday, an announcement will be made regarding an update to the status of shipping through the Strait.United Kingdom: Unrest continued throughout the nation, as multiple stabbing attacks have continued over the past few days. Riots and unrest continue in Northern Ireland as the police response has continued to grow over the weekend. Yesterday, two viral videos have fanned the flames throughout the region even more: one video showing police beating a handcuffed man, while another video showing the violent arrest of a 5-year-old child, have continued to highlight the priorities of British authorities.Separately, this morning PM Starmer announced a total social media ban for children under the age of 16. As of 2027, no one under the age of 16 will be allowed to use social media, and age verification laws will apply to everyone. Per the fact sheet provided by the British government, most adults will need to submit to Digital ID measures, to prove that they are not a child.Analyst Comment: For historical context, this has been on the menu for a while, ever since the Digital ID efforts ramped up months ago, resulting in free speech concerns. As it stands, this appears to be a sly way of indirectly introducing the same Digital ID regulations which generated much pushback years ago. By banning children from social media, adults will have to prove they aren't children, and to do so they'll have to provide ID. This is a very clever rebranding effort to introduce censorship, because adults, in proving that they aren't children will need to upload private information. The details of this under-16 ban have not been written in stone yet, but the U.K. has stated that the goal is to emulate Australia's model...which granted exceptions for Roblox and Discord, two of the biggest platforms where online predators tend to congregate to target children. For Australia, this confirmed beyond all doubt that their regulations were not at all about protecting children, but really about controlling adults with Digital ID and only allowing social media platforms that bend the knee to government. As a result, how the U.K. manages this situation will be heavily scrutinized, especially as speech crimes are being aggressively policed throughout the nation every day.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: So far, the exact terms of the Memorandum of Understanding to end the Gulf War are not entirely clear. The U.S. has not released the details, but the Iranians have released what they say the terms are. This happened just a few days ago as well when the Iranians released the plan, and President Trump denied the details as leaked. This time, Mehr News (a state-sponsored Iranian outlet) published the 14-point-plan again, and this is the only side that has published anything. Unless the White House rejects some of these details, this will be the working document until something is signed on paper this Friday.Allegedly, the ceasefire would extend for another 60 days while the following details are worked out. The American Naval blockade would be lifted within a month, and the US would commit to withdrawing forces from the region. The Strait of Hormuz would open (also within 30 days), and the U.S. would lift all Iranian sanctions. The U.S. would also release $24 billion of frozen Iranian funds (over a period of time). On the nuclear issue, Iran would agree to re-affirm what they already agreed to under previous treaties, promising to not develop nuclear weapons. There are also other terms which will probably be sticking points (such as the war in Lebanon), but right now this is the gist of the deal as the Iranians see it.As it stands...it doesn't look good for the United States. If these are indeed the genuine items that the United States has agreed to, this war will be very challenging to describe as an American victory. The deal boils down to returning to the way the situation was before the war began, with the only differences being the American lives lost, most American bases and long-range radar sites being destroyed, a whole lot of destruction in Iran itself, and the oil infrastructure in the Middle East being heavily degraded. This is why it's hard to believe that the U.S. (or Israel) would agree to this arrangement, and it's ironically also why the warhawks and everyone else can finally agree on one thing: If this is the plan, this is a capitulation on the part of the United States, there's simply no other realistic way to frame it.The final proof will be in the pudding this Friday, when the details of the agreement are actually signed and both sides agree to what's written on the page. The deal also being tied to Israeli operations in Lebanon is also a certain point of friction, as Israel does not consider itself party to the agreement between Iran and the United States. As a result, there's still plenty of time for the deal to be sabotaged before Friday, and even then, it will take months to determine whether or not peace actually remains throughout the region.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

RHETORIC AND DIPLOMATIC TENSIONS REMAIN AS TALK OF POTENTIAL SETTLEMENT CONTINUES REGARDING WAR IN MIDDLE EAST.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: Last night, Iranian state media released some details of the alleged Memorandum of Understanding which is allegedly being considered by Iran and the United States. 40 minutes after the opening bell on Wall Street this morning, President Trump announced on social media that the terms of the alleged Memorandum of Understanding as leaked by the Iranians are not what has been discussed privately. No details were provided on what items were disputed.Scotland: Yesterday, Ilia Belov and Nadjedzha Belov were both convicted of "threatening or abusing behavior" toward four girls who were at the center of a major scandal last year. As it turns out, the initial claims made by the legendary Hatchet-Girl were true; this brother-sister team were attempting to target the girls, and when they resisted being attacked, the Belov family called the police and complained of racism. This prompted the now-viral video recording by which the girls defended themselves with knives and hatchets. This court case confirmed that the girls were telling the truth about being assaulted, as CCTV footage which exonerated them was initially ignored by Police Scotland, but was uncovered during the trial.-HomeFront-Texas: This afternoon an active shooter incident was reported in Midland after unknown circumstances resulted in a protracted firefight on West Wall Street. Local authorities first announced the situation as a barricaded shooter incident, as an individual began firing at passersby from a structure near an old veterinary clinic. Around a dozen people were wounded in some manner during shooting, and the shooter was killed at the scene. The suspect has been identified as Victor Mata Villarreal.Analyst Comment: The circumstances of this shooting are sketchy at best. The area is not a crowded venue that is the normal target for mass shooters, and the exact location of the shooting has not yet been disclosed. It's possible that the shooter was concealed in a fighting position inside the abandoned veterinary clinic, and was shooting at passing cars on the highway, however this is pure speculation based on the geolocation of videos taken at the scene. Some reports claim that Villarreal was a Mexican national with a visa-overstay, but this is not confirmed at this time.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, rhetoric on all sides has continued overnight, and parsing all of the latest developments is challenging due to many contradictions flying around. As of this report, some sort of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is allegedly ready to be signed on Sunday. This MOU is reportedly not a peace deal, but a formalization of the ceasefire that was supposed to be implemented this entire time. These types of documents are fairly standard in the world of diplomacy as it's generally a waste of time to send diplomats around the world to engage in talks, if neither side is at least in the ballpark when it comes to what they might accept. An MOU being signed is a step toward peace, but it's not a peace deal itself. So far, the United States has not been entirely forthcoming regarding the details, but as of early this morning, President Trump has refuted the plan that the Iranians have leaked. However, in the absence of any clarification or details of the plan being disclosed, we have to go off of what the Iranians are claiming for now. The grand question remains...what's on the table for negotiations? First and foremost, the alleged MOU results in a 60-day extension of the alleged ceasefire, which is a period of time that will be used to work toward a final deal.Mostly, the MOU includes the 14-point plan that is very similar to what's already been discussed. The nuclear issue is allegedly not being addressed in this memorandum and Iran's missile program is completely off the table altogether. The Iranians would open the Strait, but retain control of it. Funds that have been frozen by the United States would be released to the Iranians, and the status of the long-standing array of sanctions would be worked out during the 60-day extension period. As far as what the United States will get in return, it does not seem like much, which is probably why President Trump denied the details of this leak this morning. The Strait of Hormuz being opened to allow American and other western-aligned vessels through would be the only real bone for the United States, but there is also talk of including some of the "magic dirt" (allegedly radioactive debris from the Midnight Hammer strikes), though this has not been clarified as of yet. It's almost certain that the neither the U.S. nor Israel would accept this deal as it stands, but until the US reveals what they claim their terms are, all of the rhetoric of the past few days leaves the situation exactly as it's been for months.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 11, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: IRAN WAR RESUMES AS AMERICAN BOMBING CONTINUES WHILE POLITICAL STATEMENTS CLAIM A HALT TO BOMBING BUT ALSO THE IMPENDING SEIZURE OF KHARG ISLAND. TARGETING OF MERCHANT VESSELS CONTINUES IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ. UNREST CONTINUES IN NORTHERN IRELAND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: The war continued overnight with renewed strikes taking place around the region. The United States has begun bombing targets within Iran, targeting locations mostly in the southern regions of the country. Mainstream sources claim that approximately 49x Tomahawk standoff munitions were used to conduct the strikes, along with various bombs and other munitions delivered by aircraft platforms. On the Iranian side, missile and drone strikes continued overnight in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Battle damage assessment will take some time, however locals report that American bases were hit with at least some munitions in Jordan. The success of the other strikes remains unknown for now. As of this afternoon many statements have been made by President Trump, involving the US intending to seize Kharg Island at some point. Later on in the afternoon President Trump also stated that VP Vance is scheduled to sign a "deal" (likely a Memorandum of Understanding and not a full peace deal) with the Iranians this weekend in Europe. No further clarification on either topic has been conveyed.Strait of Hormuz: The targeting of civilian vessels by both sides has also continued over the past few days. The United States struck the M/T SETTEBELLO two days ago, which resulted in the death of three Indian nationals. This follows a similar attack the day before on the M/T MARIVEX which was conducted under similar circumstances. After last night's wave of American attacks, Iran has claimed to have closed the Strait to all traffic once again.Analyst Comment: Initial reporting indicates that all merchant vessels are holding tight wherever they are, as the new wave of attacks has reduced the chance of success in transiting the Strait. At the time the targeting took place last night, there were several ships in the Strait, some of which may have been targeted in some way. The situation is still very busy, but at least one vessel was struck off the coast of Oman last night, though which side did it remains unknown.Northern Ireland: Riots continued throughout Belfast overnight, with most businesses staying closed or closing early throughout the city, so as to be buttoned-up before nightfall. Most of the rioting and arson attacks have been confined to migrant-run HMOs, with hundreds of facilities being targeted throughout Belfast once night falls. Most of the less-kinetic protests are scheduled to take place outside migrant hotels throughout Northern Ireland, and similar protests have also been reported throughout Great Britain as mass migration concerns remain a critical issue for much of society.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: At this point, it's hard to argue that the war in the Middle East has not resumed, despite contradictory rhetoric never being more than a few minutes away. Even since just this morning, the rhetoric has gone from: dozens of Tomahawks launched overnight, and more are on the way tonight, to the attack has been halted, to the US is going to take Kharg Island, to JD Vance will be in Europe over the weekend to sign a peace deal with the Iranians. Whether or not any of that is true remains to be seen, but it's been a rather wild day already. In terms of missiles and bombs, the situation is much more clear. Fighting is not to the level it was during the initial two weeks of the bombing campaign, however the United States and Iran have found themselves conducting "self-defense" strikes against each other every day this week.As of this morning, the White House has indicated that this bombing campaign is expected to continue for at least three days. However, this afternoon, President Trump stated that tonight's bombing raid was canceled due to the Iranians engaging in "discussions" with the United States. Shortly afterward, Iranian state media denied any sort of agreement being made, and several high-ranking officials have stated that while indirect diplomatic talks continue, nothing is set in stone and there's certainly nothing to sign yet. What all of this means is anyone's guess, but this rollercoaster of a week might be explained by the world of finance. This afternoon, SpaceX announced the final details of their IPO filing, taking their company public. As a result a lot of policy makers were scheduled to make a LOT of money, right around the same time bombs were supposed to drop. Publicly announcing the fact that the war has re-entered the hot-shooting phase might cause some hiccups in the markets, so it's possible that a phone call was made and today's strange saga of statements are yet another attempt to manipulate markets by downplaying the truth of what's happening on the ground. As it stands, the rhetoric of the day describes polar opposites: Either the war is over and a deal is pending signature, or the war is back on, and the bombing is ramping up. Time will tell what the truth is, but so far every single time that peace has allegedly been on the table and moments away...bombs tend to fall all the same.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

PRESIDENT TRUMP REVEALS ALLEGEDLY SECRET OPERATION IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ. RIOTS AND UNREST REMAIN CONSTANT IN NORTHERN IRELAND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: The war has continued to escalate as all sides remain engaged in active targeting operations throughout the region. After the reported shootdown of the American helicopter, the United States conducted 10-12x strikes throughout Iran in retaliation. Similarly, the Iranians attacked Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain again, striking airfields that are being used by American aircraft to conduct the war. This afternoon President Trump stated that American bombing will continue, and bombing sorties have already resumed with targets reportedly being struck once again throughout Iran.Northern Ireland: Unrest continued throughout Belfast throughout the night, with most of the more kinetic phases of the evening focusing around arson attacks on migrant housing projects throughout the city. Several dozen different sites and residential structures were burned down, and throughout the afternoon the riots have continued around the city.Analyst Comment: According to local reports, nobody was killed or stabbed during the night, so as of this morning at least, the "Chicago Way" has not been relied upon for conflict resolution throughout the city just yet. All things considered, the city has probably gotten off lightly so far considering the gravity and circumstances of the case that started all of this. However, as of this report, the second night of rioting has begun, and unrest looks to be in the forecast for the next few days.-HomeFront-Texas: Local dissent continues to grow in the wake of the Karmelo Anthony verdict, as Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison yesterday afternoon. So far only low-level unrest has been observed, however some BLM protests have remained persistent outside the Collin County courthouse, which have involved assaults and incidents between groups of protesters.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: This afternoon, President Trump revealed what is alleged to be a secret campaign to get more oil out of the Persian Gulf. This plan, the exact details of which remain very unclear, allegedly has resulted in hundreds of ships transiting the Strait, along with 100 million barrels of oil since the start of the operation. It's not immediately clear as to if this operation is still ongoing or not, but speculating a bit, this master plan appears to involve the US Navy attempting to conduct a grand shell game using a variety of electronic trickery, so as to sneak some vessels out of the Strait. Once in the Gulf of Oman, Ship-to-Ship transfers of oil are conducted, and the same ships run back through the Strait to pick up another load of oil. This has been suspected for some time as it's not exactly easy to hide a massive tanker vessel. In President Trump's social media post disclosing the operation, this "200 ship" claim needs more clarification because so far the numbers don't add up. This figure could be a total number of ships and not specifically oil tankers...small regional fishing boats are probably included in this figure. Even so, using his own numbers, the US has allegedly moved 100 million barrels of oil since May, during this secret operation. The average Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) carries about 2 million barrels of crude oil, so this would be equivalent to 50x trips...over a period of at least a month. Before the war, about 20 million barrels of oil transited the Strait every day. Since the war started, this flow has been effectively cut off. The Saudi's have helped supplement the situation with their East-West Petroline system which runs overland, with a capacity of 7 million bbl/d. Similarly, the Emirates have tried sneaking oil out through Omani terminals on the Gulf of Oman side of the Strait (which is why Iran has been striking Oman semi-regularly since the start of the war).Since deception has been disclosed and confirmed in this case, honesty is not a part of this equation. It is possible that this "secret" operation was more effective than at first glance. However, since it's unwise to tell the world about a secret military operation that is currently ongoing, it's also possible that it was less effective than stated, and thus has been concluded much like Project Freedom initially was. The latter option is the most likely based on the little information that we have, because the claim of 100 million barrels of secret oil only amounts to about five days worth of crude due to the US consuming about 21 million bbl/d in the summertime (from all sources, including domestic production). Credit must be granted where credit is due, and this alleged operation is at least an attempt for the White House to fix the energy crisis that it started, which is a step in the right direction. However in this case the grand question remains as to whether or not it was worth it. Civilian mariners putting their lives at risk while drone boats guide them through a minefield, for so little oil that the world did not even notice...might be a rather suboptimal arrangement on the strategic level. As a result, if this deception campaign was working to alleviate some pressure on the global oil crisis, nobody seems to have told the Department of Energy because the United States has continued to drain the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) at record rates. All total, the US has released around 172 million barrels from the SPR since the war began, most of which was sold for export as most US domestic refinement is heavily reliant on crude from the Middle East. If the US did indeed succeed in a total of 100 million barrels exiting the Strait...it did not just disappear, it had to go somewhere and somebody had to account for it over the past few months. Ships carrying oil don't just vanish into thin air, and there is undoubtedly a paper trail leading to the truth. Consequently, it's possible that the truth is being bent quite heavily and the numbers don't add up. Taking all of this at face value however, even with clever tricks, the Saudi's backup pipeline, US refinement booming, and draining our strategic reserves, basic arithmetic indicates that this is not enough to halt the energy crisis from getting more serious with each passing day.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

KARMELO ANTHONY FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: Overnight one U.S. Army AH-64 helicopter crashed feet-wet off the coast of Oman. Both the pilot and the co-pilot/gunner managed to egress from the aircraft, and were rescued two hours after the crash. At the time of the crash, CENTCOM did not disclose the reason for the incident, however this afternoon President Trump confirmed that this aircraft was shot down by Iranian forces.Analyst Comment: Two hours in the water is a long time in terms of Combat Search and Rescue, and it's a miracle that they were rescued. Of note, some sources are claiming that the rescue method for the downed aviators took the form of an unusual source...an American Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV). If this is true (which we may never know), this would be the first instance of an American drone boat being used for rescue operations in a combat zone.Northern Ireland: Yesterday evening an extremely graphic beheading attempt was reported on a residential street in Belfast. One Sudanese national attacked a local, gouging out his eyes with a knife and attempting to behead him. The exceptionally brutal attack was captured on tape, and the video circulated widely in the moments after the attack. The status of the victim remains unclear, but he is receiving medical care for his many wounds. The victim has not been identified by name, however he's reportedly from Scotland and also hard-of-hearing, leaving him more vulnerable to the attack.Analyst Comment: The attacker was initially hospitalized at The Mater, the main hospital in Belfast. It is unclear as to if the attacker is still physically located at this site, but he was spotted in the hospital by local intelligence networks as he was being given a medical exam post-incident. The suspect is most likely being held at the Musgrave Custody Suite on Victoria Street, which is one of the more protected sites in Belfast and can hold high-security detainees. Despite the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) not charging this individual under terrorism charges, there's a very high likelihood that the attacker would not survive the first night once other detainees found out what he did. The assailant was granted asylum status as a refugee a few years ago, though the exact nature of this legal status is not entirely clear.-HomeFront-Texas: This afternoon Karmello Anthony was found guilty of the murder Austin Metcalf. So far limited protest activity has been observed outside the courthouse. Analyst Comment: No big mobilizations or riots have been observed yet, however more significant efforts might take some time to organize as it's only a Tuesday. Too soon to tell if this is going to become a hot state of unrest, but seeing as tension has been building on this for a while, it could go either way. The next big decision point will be sentencing, which will be decided soon by the same jury.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: As one might expect, the situation in Northern Ireland has reached a boiling point. Mass riots are already underway as of this report (and likely planned for the next few weeks), as the Irish begin to organize and mobilize. Tonight, local paramilitary groups have requested all residents of Belfast to turn off their doorbell cameras, and PSNI checkpoints are already established around the city preparing for the events of the next few days.Concerning the site of the mutilation, the location of the attempted beheading has been host to violence before. This exact apartment building has been the site of violent murders in the past. In 2019, two bodies were found brutally murdered inside Kinnaird Close, with the trial for the murderer concluding a couple of years ago.Of note, the attack yesterday evening was halted by Irishmen who intervened to attempt to stop the murder. Matthew McKiernan (Gaelic spelling: Maitiu Mág Tighearnán) has been identified as the man who clubbed the African with a hurley stick, attempting to stop the attack. He and other pedestrians did what they could, but by the time they were able to intervene, exceptionally grave wounds had already been sustained by the victim. They did their best, but there was only so much they could do as taking care of the problem was not a viable option as police were seconds away from the scene and would have absolutely arrested citizens for continuing the counterattack on the African after they arrived.Nevertheless, the entire city of Belfast is calling for blood right now, and tonight they might just get it. For historical context, this brutal attack took place in one of the most contentious districts on Earth. Belfast was one of the epicenters of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and the northwest quadrant of the city is still host to many "peace lines" to this very day. Granted, most of the old maps designating the Catholic/Nationalist/Republican (CNR) areas from the Protestant/Ulster/Loyalist (PUL) areas of the city are a bit outdated and not as strictly delineated in real life as it is marked on the map sometimes. Plus, the old history of political ideology, infamous organizations, and current political leadership is incredibly complicated. In short, neither side can rightfully point the finger at the other on this issue, because elements on both sides have resulted in furthering mass migration into Ireland. On the ground, this attack took place in a strong CNR community, right along a historic dividing line, so multiple communities have a vested interest in handling the situation. Even before sunset this evening communities which have quite literally killed each other over dividing lines, are at least beginning to acknowledge the seriousness of the current migration situation, while also acknowledging that singing songs and holding hands is still unlikely between Protestants and Catholics in many of these communities. Though the situation is incredibly complicated, when it comes to beheadings in the streets, the seriousness of the situation is stratifying along bigger lines than the history of the region. At his core, an Irishman is an Irishman, regardless of affiliation, and much like most of Western Civilization, the unofficial national sports are drinking, fighting, and blowing stuff up. As a result, there are solutions to these problems, if attention on all sides can be focused appropriately. There may indeed be more room for slight-cooperation between age-old factions which might have the chance to re-examine what lines of division are worth postponing for a time, as more pressing threats are already inside the fence....threats which are neither Catholic nor Protestant.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 8, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: WAR IN MIDDLE EAST REIGNITES AFTER IRAN AND ISRAEL CONTINUE MUTUAL TARGETING EFFORTS. MORE SCREWWORM CASES REPORTED IN AMERICAN SOUTHWEST. DRONE SHOOTDOWN REPORTED IN LATVIA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: Last night the war resumed again with both Israel and Iran exchanging missiles throughout the evening. The conflict began after a flare up in Lebanon yesterday afternoon, which involved Israeli forces and Hezbollah launching missiles at each other shortly before midnight (local time). Due to this targeting effort, the Iranians launched several ballistic missiles toward Israel. All total, approximately 30x missiles were launched, with an unknown number being intercepted. Immediately after these missiles were launched, Israeli aircraft crossed into Jordan and launched long-range missiles targeting unknown locations within Iran.Red Sea/HOA: Following the recent escalation of the war, the Houthis have claimed to close the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait to American and Israeli vessels.Analyst Comment: Now, a second major maritime choke point is threatened. During this war so far, the Houthis have largely been sitting this one out, after their victory in holding out against the US bombing campaign last year. Now, the Houthis appear to be getting in the game, at least to some degree. They don't have nearly as much firepower as the Iranians do, however they can still make enough trouble to threaten the Red Sea.Europe: This morning NATO aircraft were scrambled to intercept a drone, which breached Latvia's airspace. One drone was shot down by a French Rafale fighter aircraft, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.Analyst Comment: The point of origin for the drone has not been provided, however based on geography alone, it would make sense for the drone to be Russian. Nevertheless, this shootdown comes at a time when the collateral damage concerns of the war spilling outside Ukraine's borders are beginning to be more serious. A stray drone or two is not out of the ordinary, but multiple explosive boats being found inside a Romanian port, similar drones hitting an apartment building also in Romania, and now a drone breaching Latvia's airspace...all within a few days...has caused increased concern regarding this year's fighting season in Europe.-HomeFront-Georgia: This afternoon an active shooter situation was reported on base at Fort Stewart. One suspect was apprehended after firing several rounds on Engineer Road on post. No further information has been provided regarding this incident, however the lockdown has been lifted and no casualties were reported. More information is expected as the investigation continues.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Over the weekend, several more confirmed cases of New World Screwworm (NWS) have been disclosed. One dog was discovered with the parasite in Lea County, New Mexico, and another case was discovered in a calf in Gillespie County, Texas, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to four nationwide. Aerial dispersal of sterile NWS flies have taken place over the weekend near the affected areas, with several flights being undertaken since June 4th. 24x ground release arrays are already deployed throughout the area along the border, and the recent emergency declarations by Texas have increased efforts to combat the spread of the parasite.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 5, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: UKRAINIAN DRONE BOATS FOUND IN ROMANIAN PORT NEAR OIL TERMINAL, ONE DETONATION REPORTED. KARMELO ANTHONY TRIAL BEGINS IN TEXAS. SOCIAL TENSIONS CONTINUE IN UNITED KINGDOM.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: The conflict has continued to expand, with Iranian drone attacks taking place at Oman's oil terminals in Mina Al Fahal. Omani authorities suspended oil export operations this morning, before claiming that operations had returned to normal a few hours later.United Kingdom: Societal tensions continue as old criminal cases reach a conclusion this week. Yesterday, a group of migrants were sentenced for crimes committed during an attempted revenge killing that took place in Stoke-on-Trent back in 2021. Five years ago, this mob of migrants broke into a home and set a woman on fire in front of her child, during a cultural murder attempt that stemmed from one of them stabbing the other, triggering an honor-killing retaliation attempt. Several people were also stabbed during this attack, as a fight between rival migrant factions broke out in the street during the incident. Five of these men were recently found guilty of this attack, and earlier this week two of the attackers, Naveed Hussain and Bilal Ahmed, were sentenced to what ended up being time-served, a small fine, and community service. In Southampton, significant law enforcement operations are underway to identify rioters which pushed garbage cans toward police during the recent Southampton unrest resulting from the Nowak murder trial. So far three demonstrators have been arrested and charged, and continuing the recent trend, one individual who was arrested on Thursday has already been tried, convicted, and sentenced. This individual was sentenced to 3-5 years prison time for throwing a traffic cone in the general direction of the police, which never made contact with them.Analyst Comment: These contrasting incidents are just two of a dozen that have stoked tensions throughout the British Isles this week. As a result, these events have been piling on after the Nowak murder trial elevated public anger to new heights, and last week a different case involved a pair of migrants being acquitted, even though they broke a policewoman's nose during a street fight with officers at Manchester airport two years ago.Romania: This morning at least one (possibly up to four) Ukrainian naval drones were discovered floating in the port of Constanța. One Sea-Baby Mark II (Avdiivka) type Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) was discovered floating inside the port by workers at one of the oil terminals. Before Romanian EOD teams could respond to the scene and tow the boat to a safer location, the explosive boat self-detonated, catching locals off guard who were inside the blast zone. After this explosion, a search was conducted for other drone boats in the general area, and some reports claim that three more Ukrainian USVs were found, though the exact geolocation of these vessels has not been disclosed.-HomeFront-Texas: The Karmelo Anthony murder trial has begun in Collin County, with demonstrations and protests already set up outside the courthouse. The jury in this case has not been sequestered, and they are being sent to their own homes every night without any security or protection measures despite the activists threatening to kill people outside the courthouse.Analyst Comment: This is going to be a hot trial, with a high potential for riots no matter the outcome. Like it or not, this is already a racial thing, and the situation at the courthouse has been rather spicy even though the trial has just begun. So far, the numbers of activists and militant groups on site at the courthouse remains comparatively low; only a maximum of few dozen people have been observed, with most of the persistent protests being hosted by a handful of people who can afford to attend a protest during a workday. Nevertheless, the more hostile crowds are already on site, and the potential for riots and violence is already high, with larger crowds expected to gather over the weekend.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Based on the geolocation alone, there is nearly zero chance that the drones found in Romania were merely off-course munitions, which washed ashore after losing contact or becoming damaged. The main explosive boat that was discovered, was found deep inside the port (past multiple breakwaters) nestled directly adjacent to a major oil terminal where oil tankers normally are berthed to onload petroleum. More broadly, drone boats washing ashore (either from some kind of mechanical failure, or due to combat damage) is not exactly a rare sight along the Black Sea coast as these things happen sometimes in war. However in this case, it would be extraordinarily unlikely for this vessel to end up where it did, just based on the drifting of the tides. The addition of three other drones, all with independent guidance systems and control measures, also being found in the same area decreases the chance that this was an accident. The drones found outside the port can be explained away easily, but the one found deep inside the port right next to a highly flammable oil terminal of all things, is harder to justify. As a result, this was almost certainly a deliberate action, though the motive for such is questionable. Romania and Ukraine are on the same side during this conflict, and it would make no sense to target Romanian oil, because Ukraine itself is one of Romania's biggest clients. It's possible that this attack is a false-flag incident conducted by Russia, but that's unlikely at the moment because Russia has not had much success in mimicking Ukraine's drone boats, and if this was the Russians it would be an uncharacteristically well-detailed deception operation. On the other hand, it's also possible that this was a false-flag attack conducted by Ukraine, using their own drones (which were planned to detonate before being discovered), but due to either jamming or some other mistake, did not explode before the sun rose this morning and the drones were discovered. Regardless of what the investigation eventually discovers, it is almost certain that these drone boats were genuinely Ukrainian, and did not end up inside the harbor by accident.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 4, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: CROSSBOW ATTACK REPORTED IN UNITED KINGDOM. NEW WORLD SCREWWORM CONFIRMED IN TEXAS. CONGRESS VOTES TO REAFFIRM WAR POWERS RESOLUTION.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-United Kingdom: This morning an attack was reported at the University of Surrey after a former student shot a security guard with a crossbow. The attacker has not yet been identified, however authorities have stated his is a Saudi national. The security guard who was shot remains in critical condition, and more details are expected at the situation develops.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - Last night Congress voted to acknowledge the pre-existing War Powers Resolution, which would hold the Executive Branch to the standards of this resolution concerning the current war in the Persian Gulf.Analyst Comment: This vote has no real effect as it is merely a milquetoast effort to acknowledge a law that is already on the books, namely that the President can't declare war, only Congress can. The war certainly will not stop based on this vote, and President Trump also dismissed the vote in a post on his social media platform this morning.Texas: Yesterday, the USDA confirmed the presence of New World Screwworm (NWS) within the United States, marking the first confirmed case within the United States since the disease was eradicated from the continent in 1966. This first case was discovered in a newborn calf in Zavala County. A 20 km quarantine zone has been placed around the farm where the disease was discovered, and a unified incident command has been established to increase surveillance of the disease and increase targeted releases of sterile NWS flies, which is the primary means of combating the disease (used in the 1950's to eradicate it the first time).-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: For many months, agricultural communities have been sounding alarm bells regarding the spread of screwworm throughout Central America. Various agencies and entities have indeed engaged in extremely significant campaigns to slow the spread of the disease, but despite these genuine efforts, it was not enough and screwworm has crossed the border. It's hard to determine how severe this disease will impact livestock herds around the nation, however earlier this year, the USDA reported that the national cattle inventory currently sits at 86.2 million head, the lowest level since 1951. As a reminder, this is the raw figure that is not adjusted for the US population at the time. In 1951, the population of the United States was around 150 million. Today, the US population is (on paper) over double that figure, at 342 million. Based on the numbers alone, the US has returned to the beef levels of the 1950's, even though our population has doubled since then. This figure ebbs and flows throughout the year, and this is more of a strategic concern that has been building for some time, as opposed to an immediate and time-sensitive emergency. The reason for the decline in cattle stocks is mostly the result of high feed costs and drought conditions over the past few years, which have dwindled the national cattle supply. Over the past few months, the war in Iran has sharply driven up fertilizer prices, which has driven up prices for everything including the feed for cattle, as well as transportation and operating costs. So right now, a perfect storm is brewing. Cattle herds are already in a compromised state after years of drought and high feed costs, the Gulf War is making everything more expensive, and the cherry on top now arrives with New World Screwworm spreading throughout the national cattle supply at it's lowest point in 75 years. The next major indicator to watch out for will arrive at the end of July when the next cattle report comes out; total stockpiles of livestock nationwide are only compiled twice per year due to production cycles, so next month's report will be very telling in terms of how bad the situation truly is. Even based on January's data, it is a very softball assessment to surmise that beef prices are going to keep increasing for the foreseeable future, and when the supply shock from the global petroleum crisis finally trickles down more seriously to big industry, these costs will continue to escalate even more later on this year.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

HOSTAGE SITUATION CONCLUDES AT BANK IN CALIFORNIA. TWO NIH EMPLOYEES ARRESTED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO SMUGGLE MONKEYPOX INTO THE USA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: Overnight the war continued to expand with multiple strikes reported throughout the region. Following the now-daily American airstrikes on Qeshm Island, the Iranians retaliated by launching multiple ballistic missiles targeting locations in Kuwait and Bahrain. CENTCOM claimed that none of the missiles impacted their targets, however Kuwait International Airport was directly hit by at least one large munition (possibly a Shahed-type drone). The main terminal was heavily damaged, and a total of 63x individuals were wounded during this attack. Additionally, locals in residential areas to the north claim that Camp Buehring was also hit by a ballistic missile, though satellite imagery is still pending to confirm this.Separately, multiple munition impacts were reported in Bahrain though the details of these strikes remain less certain than in Kuwait. Some reports claim that Sakhir Air Base was hit, however this is not confirmed at this time.-HomeFront-California: Yesterday a hostage situation was reported in Bakersfield after a man entered Chase Bank on 17th Street with what he claimed was an explosive device. The man claimed to have wired an explosive vest with a deadman switch, and took a total of 5x hostages inside the bank. The individual has been identified as Anthony Scott Searle-Sharris, who conducted this incident for personal reasons, claiming that he was wrongfully convicted of previous crimes (crimes against children). The hostage situation continued throughout the night, before the suspect was neutralized this morning by an FBI sniper team. All hostages have been recovered in good health.Michigan: Two researchers for the National Institute of Health (NIH) were arrested in Detroit, after attempting to smuggle monkeypox into the United States. Vincent Munster (from the Netherlands) and Claude Kwe (from Cameroon) were arrested after a search of their belongings at customs revealed chilled storage for 113 vials which contained Monkeypox along with other pathogens.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: As a reminder, the information lockdown is palpable throughout the Middle East, so details are hard to verify. What is absolutely undeniable at this point, is that authorities throughout the region, to include CENTCOM, are posting very misleading "fact checks" which are carefully worded by attorneys to leave out critical details. In some cases, outright lies are being told to conceal the success of Iranian strikes. This has been the case since the start of the war, and it's extremely common for various entities to lie during a time of war, which is sometimes necessary to ensure mission success. If CENTCOM wants to conceal the success of strikes for operational security purposes that's their business, but we can't pretend that this is not happening. As luck would have it, the Sentinel 2 open-source imagery satellite passed over Camp Ali Al Salem a few hours after the missile attacks. Comparing the imagery taken today, with yesterday's pass, a discernable impact can be noted at one of the aircraft hangers on the airfield. As always, the Iranians already know about the success of their own strikes as the Iranians secretly purchased the Chinese TEE-01B satellite, which grants them their own imagery for Battle Damage Assessments (in addition to the wealth of intelligence support being provided by Russia and China). As a result, concealing the details of American bases getting hit is hiding the truth from exactly one audience...the American taxpayer.Around the region, the locals within GCC states are first hand observers to the strikes, even though most Arab nations are arresting their own citizens for posting videos of failed interceptions in order to keep the illusion going that air defenses are working. One such individual was arrested last night in Kuwait after posting a viral video while driving on the highway. While it is speculative, it's possible that the reason this individual was arrested is because it was easy to identify him due to the motor vehicle accident that also occurred at the same time and thus made the video go viral, but also because his video appears to show failed interceptions...several of the Patriot missiles fired at the incoming Iranian missiles appear to have missed and exhibited the telltale self-destruct phase of their flight path. It's a classic Middle Eastern shakey-cam situation, but the Kuwaitis are very motivated to conceal the true effects of Iranian targeting efforts and the impact craters observed throughout the country this morning add credence to the failed interceptions. This challenging information environment would be very wise to remember as the "good news" posts of impending peace saturate social media and mainstream media constantly at this point. The truth of the situation on the ground indicates that strikes on Iranian targets (specifically at Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island) are now daily occurrences, and the slow ramp-up to the collapse of the ceasefire has already been underway for several days.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

The M/T LEXIE was struck with a missile, marking the sixth such vessel targeted by the United States so far during this war.Lebanon: Yesterday Prime Minister Netanyahu directly rejected President Trump's request to halt their invasion of Lebanon, with Netanyahu stating on his Hebrew-language account that "the IDF will continue to operate as planned in southern Lebanon". As a result, fighting continued throughout the night with the IDF and Hezbollah trading missile strikes as of early this morning.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - This morning Tulsi Gabbard's replacement for Director of National Intelligence has been named as Bill Pulte, the current director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the agency responsible for managing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Pulte will not be stepping aside from his current role to serve as DNI, President Trump stated that he will continue to do both jobs. Pulte does not have any history of intelligence work, with his career purely being focused in the world of finance.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the United Kingdom, local tensions remain at a boiling point following the murder of Henry Nowak. After the trial, the events in the courtroom during the sentencing have been leaked, which included the Digwa family becoming unruly after the verdict was read. At least one Digwa family member shouted claims of racism at the judge, and had to be restrained by police. After this incident, the Digwa family released a statement apologizing to the Sikh community for this murder. Similarly, the Sikh Community issued a statement reminding everyone of the impact that racism has had on them, and a few Members of Parliament have also taken a position on the attack which has inflamed tensions even more.As one might expect, this has doused gasoline on the fire, and this afternoon several snap protests have broken out with two demonstrations being reported at the Southampton Police Station, and also at Belmont Road where Nowak was murdered. So far, these protests have transitioned into fairly low intensity riots, however there are thousands of people in the street. The Nowak murder site is also a short distance from a heavily-populated Sikh enclave, where at least four Sikh temples are emplaced throughout residential areas. Protesters who are walking on foot between the two protest sites will have to transit through Sikh-held terrain, and since a sizable portion of the Sikh community has decided to rally around their guy (and their use of the Kirpan), the potential for armed clashes remains quite likely. The situation is developing by the minute and more updates are expected overnight as societal tensions come to a head once again.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

The targeting efforts began after an unidentified drone entered Iranian airspace, which was downed by the Iranians. Around the same time, the United States conducted an airstrike on the radio tower at the Iranian base on Sirik Island in the eastern Persian Gulf. An unidentified location in Gerak was also struck as well, which CENTCOM claims was serving as a drone launch site. After this wave of attacks, the Iranians launched two ballistics missiles toward the airbase that the attack was launched from, which they claim was Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait. CENTCOM claimed that both missiles were intercepted. After the tit-for-tat targeting efforts were conducted on Saturday and Sunday, the United States and Iran continued their targeting efforts this morning. One merchant vessel (the MSC SARISKA V) was struck by an Iranian munition in the northern Persian Gulf, off the coast of Kuwait. Several hours after this first strike, the SARISKA reported being hit by a second munition, which caused a fire.Strait of Hormuz: Following the suspected mine detection off the coast of Oman that was reported on Friday, Omani Naval forces made visual contact with the mine, confirming it's coordinates at grid: 40RDQ3450820703. The mine appears to be a Maham-1 type device, a moored contact mine domestically produced within Iran.Lebanon: This afternoon President Trump stated on his social media accounts that he conducted a phone call with Prime Minister Netanyahu, which resulted in Israeli forces halting their advance to Beirut.Analyst Comment: It is extraordinarily unlikely that the advance has actually stopped, however the reference to Beirut itself is odd because the IDF is currently nowhere near the city and there was no indication that they were headed there anyway (the invasion has so far been confined to mostly the areas near the Israeli border, with the main line of advance crossing the Litani a few days ago). It would be no surprise whatsoever if the Israelis actually did want to occupy the entirety of Lebanon (as this has been stated by politicians many times). However, aspirations are harder to achieve on the battlefield and the IDF has been getting hit hard by FPV drones for weeks. Likewise, the large-scale bombing of Beirut has been the main retaliatory measure for these FPV drone attacks, and regardless of President Trump's phone call, the war continues as before. About 20 minutes after President Trump's post, Hezbollah launched rockets and Israeli forces bombed targets in Lebanon again, with neither side expressing interest in halting the fighting.France: Mass civil unrest broke out over the weekend, following the UEFA Champions League soccer match resulting in a win for France. Large scale riots were reported throughout Paris, which carried on into Sunday evening. Dozens of assaults were reported, including some reports of individuals being dragged from their vehicles by mobs of migrants and assaulted.Austria: Yesterday a woman was attacked by an unidentified assailant on a train in Vienna. Local witnesses state that a woman of foreign origin attacked a local Austrian woman in an unprovoked attack while on the subway. No arrests have been made so far regarding this attack.Germany: This morning a migrant mob attack was reported in the small town of Tuttlingen. The mob attack was reported in the vicinity of a bus stop in the town, and resulted in a mob attempting to beat a man to death in the street. The status of the victim remains unclear.Analyst Comment: Extreme levels of violence have become very common in small European towns, even quaint villages tucked away in the foothills of the Alps. Many of these towns are now serving as an above-ground railroad of sorts, funneling migrants en masse northward into Germany. Tuttlingen has become one of these such towns. The bus stations at many of these villages are now effectively no-go areas for many locals, as large volumes of migrants tend to congregate at the facilities as they are transported by NGOs throughout the continent.United Kingdom: This afternoon the bodycam footage of the murder of Henry Nowak was leaked. The footage is worse than what was described in court, and has already resulted in increased calls for police accountability regarding this case.Analyst Comment: While everyone is rightfully calling for police accountability in this case, it is important to remember that people who directly caused the murder are still free. Only the murderer and the chief accomplice (Digwa's mother) were convicted. Per the official press release from the Southampton Constabulary, two other people were arrested that night; Digwa's family members that even the police have admitted lied on the night of the attack, causing the delay that contributed to Nowak's murder. These two other family members have not been charged with any crime.-HomeFront-Georgia: Over the weekend another subway murder was reported in Atlanta. Local authorities state that one assailant stabbed a woman to death on a MARTA train in the vicinity of Oakland City station. The victim died at the scene, and locals claim it was an unprovoked random stabbing attack. The suspect has been identified as John Elijah Matthews, who was arrested at the scene shortly after the murder.Florida: A street takeover mob attack was reported in Clearwater Beach over the weekend. One individual shot another individual during a street confrontation on Coronado Drive, wounding one person.Analyst Comment: Other than the shooting, roving bands and mobs swarmed through Clearwater over the weekend, which is likely to get the attention of much more substantial crowd-control efforts due to this area being a very big vacation area at the height of tourism season.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, a pattern is beginning to emerge with regard to American targeting efforts in the region. CENTCOM is now conducting "self-defense" strikes on targets that are really stretching the definition of "self-defense", as per all prior CENTCOM targeting guidance. CENTCOM is claiming that since a radio tower was used at some point to support a drone strike, they can strike it in self-defense. The drones that are being launched by the Iranians throughout the region are very likely not being controlled from Sirik Island, but this outpost is probably being used by forward observers. This site was also probably used as a radio base to communicate with merchant shipping, and issue notices from the Iranians via radio.More broadly, these more recent targeting efforts also serve as an indicator for what the United States might be trying to do at a more strategic level. Within the past few days, the United States has twice launched offensive targeting efforts, while claiming to conduct a strike under "self-defense" criteria. This has now slipped into more of a "mowing the lawn" approach to targeting Iranian infrastructure, whereby every couple of days the US bombs something, then the Iranians counterattack, and the US clutches pearls and pretends like CENTCOM didn't start it in the first place. How long the Iranians will put up with this is purely up to them, but they also know that these smaller targeting efforts by the United States are probably intended to provoke a knee-jerk reaction and re-ignite the large-scale bombings of the war. Right now, the Iranians have a very powerful position, so they might not want to jeopardize kicking things off again based on a handful of strikes, but that option is always on the table. How things progress from here is anyone's guess, but every bomb that lands in Iran, and every missile that lands at an American base, is another step farther from the negotiating table.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

WHITE HOUSE ANNOUNCES ALLEGED LIFTING OF THE AMERICAN BLOCKADE IN MIDDLE EAST.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: This morning, President Trump made several statements in a post on his Truth Social account. Most importantly, he stated that the American blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will be lifted. Secondly, the chief American bargaining demands regarding a settlement to the Iran war are now the re-opening of the Strait by the Iranians, the removal of the mines, and also the promise that they won't develop nuclear weapons, among other details.Analyst Comment: Much like previous statements, a short post on social media is not exactly the most clear format to convey all of the nuts and bolts of a potential peace deal, and it is precisely these smaller details which have derailed any agreement thus far. Time will tell how the Iranians react to this news, but if the lifting of the American blockade is indeed true (and immediate, without being contingent on some other unspoken detail), this could be the early indications of the U.S. attempting to walk away from this conflict. As always, it takes two to tango, and the Iranians are unlikely to immediately react to these claims, after being burned on the diplomatic front so many times.Yemen: This morning Houthi forces shot down another American MQ-9 drone in the vicinity of Marib. This is the second such drone platform shot down in Yemen this month.Romania: Last night, an apartment building in Galați was struck by an unidentified munition, resulting in a fire breaking out on the upper stories of the building. The strike resulted in two residents of the building being wounded, and the Romanian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the munition was a drone of Russian origin.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: The summer fighting season in Ukraine is clearly starting to cause more problems and instability for the European continent, as demonstrated by last night's drone incident in Romania. Right now, a major Russian offensive is underway in Odessa, and fighting along most of the fronts has picked up over the past few weeks. As such, it's not a stretch to surmise that this was a drone-off-course situation as hundreds of drones were used by Russia to attack targets along the southwestern front of the war. However, this is not the first time that Romania has dealt with supposedly "off-course" drones from the war. Drone incursions in Romania have been reported several times before, with the Russian ambassador even being summoned to explain this behavior in September of last year. Additionally, Ukraine has made good use of long-range drones as well, with a total of three tanker vessels reportedly being targeted in the Black Sea just off the coast of Turkey on the same night. As these vessels are a part of Russia's shadow-fleet of sanctioned vessels, these drones were almost certainly Ukrainian, as Ukraine seeks to prevent Russia from capitalizing on the oil shock crisis currently inflating global oil prices. Bottom line, drones are filling the skies by all sides, and as technology improves collateral damage in warfare becomes much more costly, all the while the stakes increase around the world.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

MASS STABBING REPORTED IN SWITZERLAND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-United Kingdom: This morning Vickrum Digwa was convicted of the murder of Henry Nowak. His mother, Kiran Kaur, was also convicted for her role in concealing the murder weapon used to kill Nowak. Digwa is scheduled to be sentenced for the crime on June 1st.Switzerland: This morning a mass stabbing was reported at the train station in Winterthur. One assailant was observed shouting Islamic phrases while conducting the stabbing, which wounded a total of 4x individuals at the train station. The suspect attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended shortly after the attack.-HomeFront-Washington: The investigation continues regarding the chemical explosion at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company in Longview. As of this morning, a total of 2x confirmed fatalities have been reported, but 9x workers remain missing and are assessed to be deceased. Recovery efforts continue amid complications caused by unstable debris resulting in safety concerns for rescue teams.New Jersey: Riots continued at the Delaney Hall detention facility, with another flare-up being reported overnight. Clashes between ICE and rioters has been steadily building over the past few days, as a Minneapolis-style unrest model has been applied to the facility. During the day, a mostly-elderly crowd maintains a presence at the site, but when night falls the younger agitators show up to cause chaos. Early this morning, regular citizens began getting involved in the riots, with one sanitation worker confronting the rioters for blocking the road. Separately, another rioter had their foot crushed by a semi truck, due to their preoccupation with attacking an officer resulting in a lack of situational awareness.Analyst Comment: This situation is getting out of hand, and will probably be a good barometer for other unrest efforts if anti-ICE riots escalate once again this summer. The federal administration being extremely risk averse to highly-kinetic ICE operations has undeniably emboldened rioters and as a result this unrest is likely to remain with very few barriers existing to prevent escalations on the part of the agitators.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, the ceasefire remains in name only, as multiple engagements have been reported over the past few days. In addition to the United States striking targets within Iran two days ago, last night CENTCOM conducted more strikes within Iran. These strikes have been confirmed verbally by CENTCOM spokesman Capt. Tim Hawkins, however CENTCOM is not posting these kinetic targeting efforts on their social media pages. CENTCOM is, however, admonishing the Iranians for committing an "egregious ceasefire violation".After the American strikes in Bandar Abbas, last night Iran launched several drones and at least one ballistic missile toward Kuwait. The status of this targeting effort is not known, however CENTCOM claims to have conducted another series of strikes in Iran which allegedly took out one of the drone launchers used for this attack. In the Strait of Hormuz, another series of engagements was reported this afternoon. A total of 4x merchant vessels were reportedly targeted by Iranian munitions as they attempted to cross the Strait. Information on these targeting efforts is sketchy at best; the UKMTO has not commented on these targeting efforts, and what little details have emerged imply that these were "warning shots" with either drones or missiles as no vessel was successfully hit. At this point it could just as easily have been four "misses" but the end result is that no commercial traffic has transited the Strait today, as the world watches and waits to see if the kinetic phase of the war will resume.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

PROBABLE CHINESE AGENTS DETAINED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO INFILTRATE SOUTHERN US BORDER.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: Israeli attacks in Lebanon have increased over the past few days, with more significant bombings taking place in Beirut. FPV drone attacks by Hezbollah have continued to devastate Israeli forces, as most of the IDF is not equipped or prepared to handle the threats that drones bring to modern warfare. As a result, the fighting has become much more intense, which in turn has increased the efforts to expand the Israeli bombing campaign.France: Last night a small arms attack was reported in Grenoble, as a war between rival gangs of migrants has broken out. One engagement was reported in the Mistral neighborhood overnight, with several people being gunned down on the street. One person was killed, and three others wounded during this attack, which locals sources claim was a targeted assassination. Three days ago, another assassination was reported, with a Cartel-style video being posted online before a body was found in a vehicle in the Échirolles community.-HomeFront-New Jersey: Protests at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility have continued, which have mostly transitioned into more of a long-term protest site once again. A few local politicians have made appearances over the past few days, but apart from occasional flare-ups and riots, the weekday attendance at this facility has remained fairly regular.Texas: Overnight a group of Chinese nationals were arrested after attempting to illegally cross the southern US border in the vicinity of Eagle Pass. US Border Patrol trackers located the group of individuals who had crossed the border illegally and were concealing themselves on a private ranch. Among this group were a total of 6x Chinese citizens, who federal authorities have classified as Special Interest Aliens (SIAs) for reasons that have not been disclosed. In the photos of the group provided by Customs and Border Patrol, one of the Chinese individuals has a military-style haircut, and another individual is wearing military-style combat boots. All are wearing civilian-style camouflage jackets and pants, all of the same type and construction.Analyst Comment: Most coyotes illegally smuggling people over the border have either required or furnished themselves camouflage "uniforms" for the illegals to don, in order to cross the border as covertly as possible. As a result, these individuals being detained while wearing camouflage is very normal these days. Illegal border crossings still take place along the vast wilderness areas which comprise most of the border, but it's become a lot harder to make the crossing and also much more expensive to do so. For Chinese immigrants, it's never been easier to get legal paperwork and enter the US at an official port of entry, so the fact that these individuals made the crossing illegally indicates that they were up to no good.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Congo, the situation regarding the current Ebola outbreak has become increasingly more serious over the past few days, as the current civil war is impacting efforts to control the disease. Separately, social tensions flared up overnight, after a domestic situation spiraled out of control at a treatment center. Last night, police fired warning shots at the perimeter of Rwampara Hospital, as a crowd of people attempted to breach the facility to recover the bodies of relatives who had died from Ebola. Upon being told that they can't have the remains of their family members due to fears of the disease spreading, the crowd promptly set a tent on fire at the compound and a state of pandemonium erupted. During the fray, a handful of Ebola-positive patients fled from the facility and are currently unaccounted for.Around the continent, nations bordering the Congo have begun to close the border checkpoints to those fleeing both the simmering civil war, and also the spread of Ebola. Uganda closed their borders this morning, and several other nations have implemented travel controls to restrict travel out of the hardest-hit areas.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

CENTCOM stated that one SAM site was destroyed in the vicinity of Bandar Abbas, along with several minelaying vessels allegedly attempting to lay mines in the Strait. In response, the Iranians claim to have shot down two drones, an MQ-9 Reaper and an MQ-4C Triton. The Iranians also claim to have engaged an F-35, but did not claim to have shot it down.-HomeFront-New Jersey: Counter-ICE demonstrations and unrest continue at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility. Rioters have clashed with ICE agents several times over the weekend, at times gaining the upper hand as federal forces remain spread thin. Throughout Monday afternoon, into this morning, various stages of kinectivity have been reported, ranging from full-blown riots, to the more standard noise-making protests observed so far during this conflict.Analyst Comment: This afternoon, several detainees were released from the compound to the cheers of the crowds, but the context for these releases has not been made clear. Either way, the crowd is interpreting these releases as a victory.Missouri: Yesterday evening a mass shooting was reported at a grocery store in Pleasant Hill. Local authorities state that one suspect entered the parking lot of the store, exited his vehicle, and began firing on shoppers in the parking lot. One citizen was killed exiting the store, and one employee of the store was wounded while moving carts back inside the store. The suspect has been identified as Allen Prince, who attempted to take his own life at the scene, but failed and is expected to survive. Analyst Comment: So far, there is no clear understanding of why this individual chose to conduct this attack, nor why this venue was selected as the target. More details are expected as the investigation continues.Washington: This morning a major explosion and subsequent fire was reported at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company in Longview. Local authorities state that a chemical-based implosion took place after a large tank ruptured and collapsed in on itself this morning. Following the initial event, a major fire broke out at the facility which destroyed much of the compound. Concerning casualties, several employees were killed during the blast, and around a dozen others experienced severe chemical burns. The number of fatalities resulting from this incident has not yet been confirmed by authorities.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: So far this week, the situation in the Middle East remains as clear as mud, as what's happening in the Strait remains hard to confirm. This morning, claims circulated on social media by various media outlets stating that during the night the United States attempted to restart Project Freedom under the cover of darkness. Throughout the afternoon, other claims emerged stating the opposite, that the US has not re-ignited Project Freedom.Regardless of how it is defined or labeled, evidence does indicate that one Greek-owned supertanker transited the Strait overnight. However, a few hours later, the UKMTO reported that a vessel had been struck with an unknown munition in the Gulf of Oman. Right now it's not clear as to if this is the same vessel that transited, or if this was a different ship. It is also not clear as to if this Greek supertanker was actually escorted by the United States, or merely guided over the radio (after paying the Iranian toll), or if the US was involved in this saga at all. These details might not ever be known with any certainty, but the situation remains tense all around as diplomatic efforts look less and less likely to come about anytime soon. The United States might indeed have attempted to sneak out a tanker or two once again, to have some justification for saying that the Iranians don't have control over the Strait...even if these vessels that have been "helped" by the US Navy might have actually been granted permission by the Iranians. This detail is not known, but it would be imperative to figure out as the distribution of power in the Middle East hangs in the balance.More practically for the American people and western Europe, the global fuel crisis continues as before. Following the truth coming out of no peace deal being on the table (along with the kinetic targeting overnight) oil prices rose to above $100 per barrel once again this morning. As we approach the end of May, it is important to remember that the high gas prices that are observed today...are actually artificially low. The United States has been draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) at an increasing rate since mid-March. This month, the US drained an additional 29 million barrels, which comes after draining another 20 million barrels in April. Similarly, China is also draining their own strategic oil reserves, and has cut their import of petroleum sharply with some estimates suggesting China has cut their imports by about 20% over the past few weeks. Now that the US and others are dipping into their strategic reserves at an increasing rate just to keep oil at roughly $100 per barrel, it's not clear when that supply will eventually dwindle enough to not be able to cover the true impacts the war is having on the energy sector.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z May 25, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: WEEKEND RHETORIC OF POTENTIAL PEACE DEAL IN MIDDLE EAST GIVES WAY TO RENEWED EFFORTS TO REIGNITE THE WAR IN IRAN. MULTIPLE INDUSTRIAL INCIDENTS REPORTED IN LOS ANGELES. PEPPER SPRAY INCIDENTS CONTINUE IN JAPAN. SHOOTING REPORTED AT WHITE HOUSE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Japan: This morning a chemical incident was reported at Ginza Six Mall in Tokyo. One individual reportedly sprayed an unidentified noxious substance at one of the entrances to the mall, which resulted in many people becoming ill. 12x individuals reported throat pain, and a total of 25x people sought medical treatment after the substance was released.Analyst Comment: When it comes to chemical incidents involving unknown materials in public places, the potential explanations vary widely. In this case, the origin appears to be pepper spray, with some locals claiming that an argument between two foreign men devolved into one of the two pepper spraying the other. Officially, no statements by authorities have confirmed what happened. As always, incidents like this occurring in Japan are extremely rare as pepper spray is heavily regulated and illegal to carry throughout the country. Consequently, incidents which wouldn't be worth mentioning in the western world result in overwhelming responses in Japan, and in this case this is the second such incident this month. Two weeks ago, someone deployed pepper spray on a train at Kawasaki Station, which occurred without much media attention. -HomeFront-California: Multiple major industrial incidents have taken place in Los Angeles over the past few days. Several days ago, a chemical incident was reported at the GKN Aerospace facility in Garden Grove. The incident involved a cooling system failing inside a large tank holding about 7,000 gallons of methyl methacrylate (UN: 1247), a Toxic Industrial Compound (TIC) used in the manufacture of epoxies and resins. This is a highly unstable compound if not handled appropriately, which can result in chemical reactions taking place inside the tank if certain conditions are met. Over the weekend, these conditions resulted in the evacuation of roughly 50,000 people, with local authorities being concerned that the tank might explode. As of this morning, a crack had formed in the tank, relieving the pressure and reducing the risk of an explosion.Separately, a large fire was reported in South Gate, as an automotive facility burned Sunday afternoon. A shelter-in-place order was issued for the local area due to the smoke and the close proximity of the fire to residential communities. Localized power outages were also reported in the neighborhood, but power was restored after the fire was knocked down throughout the evening. In East Los Angeles, a spill of crude oil was reported after a telecoms crew installing fiber optic lines accidentally hit a petroleum pipeline, causing a rupture. This pipeline break resulted in a few thousand gallons of crude entering the storm drains in the vicinity of the intersection of Caesar Chavez and Eastern Avenue.Washington D.C. - Over the weekend, a small arms engagement was reported at the White House, after a man approached the perimeter fence with a handgun. Authorities state that one individual approached a Secret Service checkpoint and drew a firearm from a bag, before engaging the agents at the checkpoint at the corner of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Secret Service personnel engaged the shooter, ending the incident. One bystander was wounded during the incident.Analyst Comment: The suspect has been identified as Nasire Best, who had a long history of presenting security threats to the White House. Best had previously attempted to breach the compound in the past, and had also made verbal threats toward Secret Service personnel. In June of last year, Best was arrested after blocking a traffic lane entering the White House compound, and subsequently committed to a mental institution. -----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Over the weekend, several developments have taken place with regards to diplomacy in the Middle East. On Saturday, President Trump announced that a peace deal with Iran was "largely negotiated", subject to the final details being worked out. Almost immediately following this announcement, Iranian state media refuted these claims as not being true, or being different from what has been discussed so far during the negotiations. On Sunday, President Trump reversed his stance on the immediacy of the deal being reached, stating that he has instructed his staff to take their time regarding the details of a deal. This morning, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that no deal is on the table, and the deadlock continues. As it stands, it's possible that the weekend shenanigans are the result of a few different theories. For one, the rhetoric from the White House could be the standard effort to calm economic markets. Normally, these "good news" social media posts are issued on Monday mornings shortly before the opening bell on Wall Street, but lately have also been taking place late in the week. Conversely, the confusing messaging regarding a potential peace deal could me more organic...it's not the first time that peace talks have collapsed at the eleventh hour all on their own, or from actions by parties around the region objecting to the deal in some manner. It's also possible that this is a repeat of the now long-forgotten final days before this war began, most notably what transpired in the 72 hours leading up to the February 28th attacks. In retrospect, history indicates that even as the last-minute negotiations were taking place, the decision to use military force had been made many days before the war officially began. Likewise, a similar situation might be getting set up right now; it is possible that the US is transitioning into a renewed targeting effort. Until something happens either way, the three main possibilities remain, just as they have since the start of the ceasefire: Either a deal is reached and everything returns to normal as best it can, or the U.S. returns to bombing and the war resumes, or the stalemate continues as before with no real change to any of the points of deadlock. Time will tell what happens next, but for now nothing is signed and the "pause" to the war continues.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

Hungarian officials claim that the explosion took place as the Olefin-1 unit was being brought online, and a compressor exploded at the plant. One worker was killed during the explosion.Analyst Comment: While this refinery was first build decades ago, most of the facility is comparatively new, with the main installation undergoing major overhaul and expansion operations being completed in 2024. The main product produced by this installation is polyol, a precursor for the production of plastics.Africa: Concerns have been growing over the past few days regarding an outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A total of 82 cases have been confirmed so far in the Congo, and around 750 more suspected cases are being monitored. The WHO has also elevated the risk level to "VERY HIGH" regarding this disease within the Congo.Analyst Comment: It's too soon to tell if this is going to be another big crisis, however the WHO is pushing in hard, and the United States has implemented travel controls for commercial aviation coming from the region. Ebola crises normally come and go in Africa, and it's always challenging to determine if the next one will be a more widespread concern, especially when public distrust of medical agencies is already high in the wake of the COVID era.-HomeFront-Indiana: This morning a shooting was reported inside Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City. The incident began after Deputy Jon Samuelson of the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office stopped to render aid to a disabled vehicle near Westville. The inhabitant of the vehicle requested to be taken to the hospital for an unknown injury, which the officer did. After delivering the individual to the hospital, authorities made the connection that the individual was actually a suspect in an undisclosed crime last night, prompting Deputy Samuelson to re-enter the hospital to make contact with the suspect. Upon doing so, the individual produced a firearm inside the Emergency department, and shot the officer three times, before fleeing into a wooded area outside the facility. The suspect has been identified as Sharod Grafton, Jr. and was apprehended shortly after the shooting.Washington D.C. - This afternoon Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard resigned from her position. Her resignation letter indicated that this departure is due to her husband's recent cancer diagnosis, and that this resignation is effective as of June 30th.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, reports are widely contradictory regarding recent leaks of a potential peace agreement draft. Saudi sources have leaked what they claim is a rough draft of the peace agreement, which includes a list of very tentative points. In summary, the alleged draft as leaked is basically a stalemate. The US lifts sanctions on Iran, and Iran opens the Strait, while all sides agree to not invade or target each other anymore. As a result, many view this leak rather dubiously as this is a far cry from what the United States has said was acceptable in the past.Regarding this war, one's watch can nearly be set by the timing and nature of the rhetoric that emerges. Reports of peace agreements have arrived like clockwork on Friday's and Monday's nearly every week since the start of the war, and time and time again have proven to not be serious attempts at peace but rather attempts to calm the markets. However, despite this clear pattern every claim is a fake until it isn't, and eventually something will have to be agreed upon to open the Strait. As it stands, opening the Strait in exchange for lifting sanctions is probably the simplest trade that can actually be agreed upon, especially since this would require the Iranians to give up their only bargaining chip at the moment (which on a strategic level they are probably okay with since they know that they can always close the Strait if attacked again). HAZMAT SITUATION REPORTED IN NEW MEXICO. ALLEGED "IED" ATTACK REPORTED IN PENNSYLVANIA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-United Kingdom: Societal anger is growing as the details of the murder of Henry Nowak come to light as the trial of Vikram Digwa continues. The court has observed the audio/video recordings of the police response, which confirm that Nowak told the responding officer that he had been stabbed, but the officer denied this even though Nowak was actively bleeding. The evidence also indicated that Digwa's entire extended family arrived on scene to defend the murderer, and that Digwa confessed to stabbing Nowak while speaking to his brother after the truth had come out and he had been detained in the back of a police vehicle.Analyst Comment: Today, one Member of Parliament (Robert Jenrick) commented on the trial, specifically with regards to the two-tier policing system. So far the words of this one MP have been the only statement by the British government acknowledging the case.France: One of the masterminds for the 2015 Paris terror attacks has been granted conditional release from prison. Mohamed Bakkali, one of the logistical coordinators and planners for the attacks was originally sentenced to 25 years in a Belgian prison for his role in the attacks, however he has been granted several 36-hour vacation breaks from prison, which he can use to depart prison grounds during his sentence.Analyst Comment: The coordinated terror attacks conducted throughout Europe on November 13th, 2015 were the most coordinated and deadly attacks in recent memory. These attacks took the form of multiple small arms engagements and bombings throughout Paris, with the most notable attack occurring at the Bataclan Theatre. A total of 130 people were killed at this venue, and 416 others were wounded by small arms and shrapnel. Since the attack at this venue took several hours, many victims were found mutilated, dismembered, and tortured to death. Most of the attackers were killed that night, however the planning coordinators escaped before being detained later on. Bakkali was one of these individuals, and Belgian authorities are seeking to permanently release him from prison, purely because he seems nice.-HomeFront-New Mexico: Last night a HAZMAT situation was reported in the town of Mountainair following the discovery of a possible narcotics lab. Local authorities responded to a residence on Hanlon Avenue, where they discovered four unresponsive individuals, three of which later died of overdose at a hospital. During the response to the residence, a total of 18x first responders were exposed to an unidentified Toxic Industrial Compound (TIC) inside the structure, which required hospitalization. All have been discharged from the hospital except for 3x responders, who require further medical treatment.Analyst Comment: The substance has not yet been identified and samples are under investigation to determine what it was. This residence was possibly serving as a meth lab or fentanyl production facility, so there's no telling what kind of chemicals were being used inside.Pennsylvania: Yesterday two men were arrested in conjunction with a suspected IED attack which was conducted in Catasauqua two days ago. On Tuesday, an incident was reported at the Salem United Church of Christ on 3rd Street, which was serving as a polling place for Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District at the time of the incident. Matthew and Jack Pletz were arrested after surveillance footage from the Church identified the suspects throwing an explosive device out of the window of their truck, before driving back to their residence adjacent to the polling place, at the corner of 3rd and Pine Street.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Media is reporting the Pennsylvania incident to be a full-blown IED attack, but this may have been a situation of a couple of idiots throwing fireworks and engaging in public tomfoolery. Reading between the lines of the media reporting, it sounds like two brothers threw an M-80 firework at the church, before arriving at their own residence half a block away. Once the police arrived, they got a warrant to search the truck and found a box of illegal fireworks (some of which appeared to be homemade) and at least one item that authorities are classifying as a destructive device. This device is specifically described as being encased in plastic, which is an odd detail to focus on if these were high-grade devices. The detail of the suspects literally conducting an IED attack at their own residence would be rather dumb if the suspects intended to cause mass death and destruction. These idiots probably saw people lining up at the polling place, and wanted to engage in a bit of public nuisance as they were arriving home that day. It's still an illegal act, but not exactly the complex IED attack it was made out to be based on the information that has been made public.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

VIOLENT ATTACKS, STREET TAKEOVERS, AND MOB ACTIVITY REMAINS PARAMOUNT IN UNITED STATES. U.S. TENSIONS WITH CUBA CONTINUE TO ESCALATE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Middle East: This morning CENTCOM announced the boarding and seizure of the M/T CELESTIAL SEA in the Gulf of Oman. This vessel was attempting to run the American blockade to onload cargo within Iran.Analyst Comment: Otherwise the grand question of further military action remains. Regional aversion to a resumption of the conflict is understandably high, however military measures to prepare for a resumption of the war are ongoing. Both the Iranians and the United States have conducted substantial resupply and rearming campaigns during the ceasefire, and the Israelis have reached a point of semi-stability regarding their ground invasion of Lebanon. The Emirates and Saudis have likewise been the main belligerents actually conducting targeting efforts during the ceasefire, so they're also ready to go at a moment's notice. All diplomacy has failed so far, and all drafts of any sort of peace settlement provided indicate that all parties are probably further from a peace agreement right now, than when the war first began. All things considered, nothing might happen, or the war might kick off again soon, with President Trump himself indicating that the war might begin again this weekend.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - This afternoon, the DoJ announced the indictment of Raul Castro on charges of conspiring to kill Americans, which is linked to the downing of two American planes in 1996.Analyst Comment: American aspirations for control of Cuba have become increasingly more serious over the past few weeks, with various tactics being used to apply pressure on the Cuban government. Of note, Castro is not physically located in the United States...he's in Cuba. As a result, this indictment could be laying the groundwork for a Maduro-style operation to snatch him, while simultaneously expanding the American foothold on the island.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Around the nation, various instances of civil crime and unrest have resulted in localized states of chaos in various locations. Street takeovers have become common in most major cities, and mass fights/mobs/riots have become a routine threat as well. In Rhode Island, a mass fight resulted in 3x people being stabbed at Narragansett Town Beach. The same day, a riot of 400-500 people was dispersed by police in Rochester, NY after a meetup turned into a mass fight in Ontario Beach Park. In Washington D.C. local authorities are still seeking information on the suspects who caused a mob attack at the Navy Yard Chipotle over the weekend. In Long Branch, New Jersey a mass riot broke out after mobs began attacking cars in Pier Village. This devolved into a full-blown riot, with a state of emergency being declared, a curfew being implemented, and riot police dispersing the crowds. In all of these cases, there was no reason for the unrest and destruction...this is just now routine behavior in many cities. As summertime arrives, the standard and routine behavioral/cultural considerations which make all major US cities very low-trust environments get dialed up to eleven, and street takeovers and flash mobs are very likely. From a threat assessment perspective, these types of incidents strike without cause or much warning, and take place purely due to the degradation of societal norms of accountability. As a result, there is no "trigger" to watch out for, and the only indicator of impending violence is the gathering of large crowds of people who are likely to engage in such behavior. Most of these riots are conducted purely for the enjoyment of violence, and consequently there's not much that can be done to mitigate these types of incidents, with the exception of avoiding large crowds which are likely to devolve into chaos. These riots are occurring during the middle of the day, on a weekday. And with Memorial Day weekend coming up in a few days, the potential for civil unrest is high.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z May 19, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: DETAILS EMERGE REGARDING YESTERDAYS SHOOTING IN CALIFORNIA. TENSIONS INCREASE IN IRELAND FOLLOWING DEATH OF CONGOLESE NATIONAL. WAR POTENTIAL IN MIDDLE EAST REMAINS AS ALL PARTIES CONTINUE PREPARING FOR CONFLICT.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Ireland: Tensions have increased sharply following the death of a Congolese man on Friday. Yves Sakila died while resisting arrest, after he shoplifted from a local store and broke an elderly man's leg. This death has resulted in a mobilization of the Congolese population of Dublin, with mass protests planned for tonight and the next few days.Analyst Comment: It's too soon to tell, but many locals are saying this is Dublin's version of George Floyd in terms of civil unrest and the large Congolese population in Ireland. Roving bands of Congolese gangs commonly cause problems within Dublin, and since local tensions were already boiling before this, clashes are likely if the Congolese decide to escalate the situation.Middle East: The potential for a resumption of the war remains on the table, as rhetoric on all sides continues to escalate. The creation and streamlining of the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (the Iranian organization that has claimed administrative control of the Strait) has continued to be of cause for concern for western-aligned vessels. The handful of ships that are transiting the Strait are sailing with their transponders turned off, and so far all vessels have transited with Iranian approval. This afternoon, President Trump stated that he was only one hour away from ordering the resumption of the fighting yesterday. He also stated that the fighting may resume in a few days regardless, and all parties around the region remain ready for the ceasefire to come to an end.-HomeFront-Alabama: Yesterday a suspect was arrested in conjunction with a missing person investigation in Northport. Two weeks ago, Karen Deann Hollis was reported missing, after concerned family members failed to locate her. On Saturday, her remains were located at an undisclosed location in Greene County. At the scene, authorities arrested Randall Lendell Dejourney on charges of abusing human remains for 8 days. He is being held in jail on a $15,000 cash bond and no murder charges have been filed.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Few details have come to light regarding yesterday's shooting at the San Diego Islamic Center, however the suspects have been identified as Cain Clark and Caleb Vazquez. The two shooters attempted to conduct a mass shooting at the facility, and began the attack by killing the security guard at the front entry point of the building. After making entrance to the facility, the suspects killed two more people, before re-entering their vehicle and driving a short distance from the facility. Both suspects were found deceased inside the vehicle with self-inflicted gunshot wounds.Concerning the suspects themselves, the very few details that have emerged indicate this was very likely the standard transgender shooting. Both suspects were of questionable status, though both appear to have been born male. Slogans and statements were written on the firearms with a white paint pen, which has become a staggeringly common calling card of most trans-affiliated mass shootings (as the shooters often try to copy previous attacks). Both attackers appear to have been Hispanic, but also used symbols from political movements that would not have approved of their lifestyle choices, which is another hallmark of such attacks as well.No official link to the Order of Nine Angles (O9A) or the 764 Network has been made, however this would be wise to investigate as this shooting is nearly identical to all prior O9A/764 mass murders from years past. The attackers also allegedly livestreaming the attack fits with many other similar attacks as well.Of note, another bit of amplifying information might be helpful for factoring in to risk assessments. Five days ago, a nationwide shortage of Progesterone was reported. Among many other more traditional uses, this medication is used by transgender individuals to level out mood changes during their process. More strategically, this could be nothing or it could be something. There's no indication at all that the two shooters in California were affected by this drug, and there is no evidence linking this attack to any drug shortage as drug shortages happen all of the time for varying reasons. However, copycat incidents are an extreme risk in the wake of attacks like this, and a drug which is intended to affect mood changes among this population is in short supply. Again, this might be a loose correlation at best, but it's worth being aware of when trying to calculate the risk of future copycat attacks.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

WAR IN MIDDLE EAST CONTINUES AS STRIKES REPORTED AT EMIRATI NUCLEAR FACILITY. U.S. STRIKES ISIS LEADERSHIP IN NIGERIA. FUEL CRISIS RESULTS IN SHARP INCREASE IN SHIPPING PRICES WORLDWIDE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Middle East: The situation remains as before, with most of the focus remaining on the restriction of travel through the Strait of Hormuz. As of this morning, all diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran have failed to open the Strait, and traffic remains stagnant through the waterway. A handful of tankers have transited out of the Strait via the Iranian route, but Project Freedom has not resulted in any western-aligned merchants transiting the Strait since the initial skirmishes on it's first day.Around the region, limited targeting efforts continue to take place. Yesterday, the UAE reported drone strikes at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Al Dhafra. Three drones were detected and two were shot down, but one drone successfully stuck the compound. None of the reactors at the facility were breached, and no release of radiological material was reported.Nigeria: Hostilities have increased sharply over the past few days, with the United States conducting several airstrikes targeting ISIS facilities. President Trump himself announced the completion of a raid targeting Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, a senior commander within the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) insurgent group.Analyst Comment: Prior to a few days ago, the United States was only supporting Nigeria with intelligence and surveillance assets, and not openly engaging in the war themselves, at least as far as the public is concerned. The weekend raid on an ISIS stronghold is a major escalation of US involvement in the war, even though the mission may have initially been to capture al-Minuki.A good bit of reading between the lines is needed (along with a bit of speculation) to interpret what happened, as this announcement is different than other targeting efforts throughout the continent. The wording of all official reports implies that this was a ground operation to capture the leadership who had congregated together inside a compound. At some point, this ground operation transitioned to airstrikes taking out the target, with the High-Value Targets (HVTs) being killed during the strike. Speculating a bit, it's possible that when the ground force experienced significant resistance and everyone scattered from the meeting site on motorcycles, the US bombed the building and got al-Minuki by happenstance. This is a tale as old as time in the targeting world (especially in Africa), and aligns with the previous strikes within Sokoto, which targeted senior ISIS leadership in the same area back in December.Italy: Over the weekend a vehicle ramming attack was reported in Modena, as a terrorist rammed his vehicle into a crowd of people on Via Emilia Centro, a historic street in the center of town. A total of 10x people were wounded during the attack, with 4x victims remaining hospitalized in critical condition. The assailant has been identified as Salim El Koudri, and local authorities have not commented on motive.-HomeFront-Texas: Over the weekend a shooting spree was reported in Austin, as three suspects conducted approximately 12x small arms attacks around the city. The incident began Saturday with the theft of firearms from a local store, and also the theft of a vehicle from an apartment complex in north Austin. From there, the suspects conducted a joyride around the city, shooting at random citizens. One of the first targets was Fire Station 26 on Wentworth Drive, along with Fire Station 32 near Rollingwood. Throughout the city, over 20x different shooting calls were reported, with over 12x different shooting victims resulting from the shooting spree. At some point during the series of attacks from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning, police made the connection that all of these attacks were related and involved the same suspects. A BOLO notice was put out by Austin PD, which was picked up by Manor Police Department, with one patrol officer visually observing the vehicle as the BOLO was put out on the radio. This immediately turned into a pursuit, with the suspects eventually crashing in a muddy field on state road 973, near a residential area in Manor. After the pursuit ended, the occupants of the vehicle scattered, and a large shelter-in-place order was issued while the manhunt was conducted to find the suspects. Two of the suspected shooters were captured immediately, a 17 year old and a 15 year old, both of which have long criminal records. A third suspect remained at large until nightfall, when he was discovered and arrested.California: This afternoon, an active shooter incident was reported at the Islamic Center of San Diego.Analyst Comment: No word yet on casualties or any other details yet as this is a developing situation. However, a media helicopter captured a video of a very clearly deceased individual located at the front entrance to the facility, so at least one person (possibly the shooter) was killed during the attack.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Around the world, fuel prices remain a growing concern. Over the past few days, sharp increases in the price of freight has been observed as the cost of diesel makes it more expensive to move cargo within the homeland. At the national level, the LMI Transportation index indicates that freight costs are the highest in recent memory, with the latest numbers for April being released and confirming what we already know...moving cargo is now extremely expensive. At the more operational level, this sharp increase in shipping costs can be seen with the price of moving a standard Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) shipping container. Before the war began, this container (on average) cost $980 to ship from China, to the Middle East (via the Red Sea route, not through the Strait of Hormuz). Right now, this same container costs about $4,131 to ship along the same route. During the COVID era, the maximum price observed was about $3,900 so as it stands, the oil shock has already impacted shipping costs more than COVID did. These costs are being observed right now within the United States both in terms of goods rising in price, but also availability.Throughout the Middle East, lots of talk continues and there isn't really any indicator for when this crisis might end. This afternoon, President Trump stated that the large-scale bombing of Iran was scheduled to continue tomorrow, but he has decided to hold off on the resumption of the war while a negotiated settlement is allegedly imminent. At the moment, it's not clear as to if this is just diplomatic posturing, or a genuine diplomatic effort. This exact situation was also alleged during the halt to Project Freedom, which stopped after one day due to a settlement that never came. In this case, this could be a negotiating tactic, but overall the war is certainly not over, and the effects of the war (i.e. the global petroleum crisis) remain largely unmitigated.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

CIVIL UNREST CONTINUES IN NETHERLANDS AS MIGRANT CRISIS GROWS.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-United Kingdom: Tensions remain high following details of a high-profile murder from 2023 coming to light. This week, the criminal trial began and details of what happened the night of the attack were made public, with this information previously being sealed by the court. On December 3, 2023, Henry Nowak was stabbed by a Sikh man, Vikram Digwa, on the street in Southampton. Nowak was stabbed several times while trying to flee his attacker, who pursued him and stabbed him multiple times. As he was bleeding out, police arrived and arrested Nowak, the victim, because the attacker claimed that the victim had made a racial comment of some kind. Nowak bled out in the street while handcuffed, as the police officers sided with the murderer at the scene. Eventually other officers arrived on scene to free the victim, but it was too late. The suspect's mother was also indicted for the murder, as she hid the murder weapon in the family home. The trial began a few days ago and is expected to continue over the next few weeks, amid growing unrest regarding the details of the murder and the police complicity in the crime.Netherlands: Civil unrest remains constant in Loosdrecht, following attempts by the Dutch government to establish a migrant center in the middle of the town. Turnout at various demonstrations to oppose mass migration has been substantial, along with more kinetic efforts being undertaken once night falls. Dutch police have cracked down hard on demonstrations, with numerous protest leaders being black-bagged by police throughout the past few days. Checkpoints and blockades are being emplaced at the main roadways into the town, to prevent locals from attending protests at the facility.-HomeFront-Maine: This afternoon a major fire was reported at Robbins Lumber yard in Seasmont. The fire began after a 30,000 gallon tank full of flammable liquid exploded. A mass casualty incident was declared by local authorities due to many workers at the lumber yard being injured and several firefighters have also been injured during attempts to control the blaze. More information is expected this evening, as this is a developing situation at the time of this report.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: As President Trump's state visit to China concludes, several items of note have arisen as a result of the trip. In a mainstream media interview, President Trump defended the Chinese government purchasing farmland near American military bases, alleging that this is being done to keep farmers from losing a lot of money. Similarly, President Trump defended the previous plans to bring over 500,000 Chinese students to American universities, with the goal of also giving them citizenship, echoing the previous policy decisions which were major concerns when first raised months ago. These remarks continue to confirm what the official policy is, regardless of the long-discussed security vulnerabilities.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

IRANIANS SEIZE SHIP IN GULF OF OMAN. DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS CONTINUE IN CHINA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Middle East: Overnight Iranian forces seized a vessel near the Gulf of Oman, which was lying at anchor off the eastern coast of the UAE. Separately, a smaller regional cargo vessel was struck by an Iranian munition this morning, sinking somewhere near the Strait. Otherwise, the IRGCN stated that roughly 30x vessels (mostly Chinese) had transited the Strait of Hormuz overnight, with permission from the Iranians.Analyst Comment: The ship that was seized in the Gulf of Oman is not just any merchant vessel, it was the M/V HUI CHUAN, a secretive vessel known to be used by Chinese paramilitary forces to serve as a floating armory for various counterpiracy efforts in the region. While not specifically classed as a warship, this vessel likely had significant stockpiles of weapons and intelligence collection sensors onboard.India: A ban on exports of sugar has been implemented until September 30th, with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade stating that the export ban is being implemented to ease the sharp increase in the price of sugar domestically.Analyst Comment: While this appears to be a standard decision based on routine agricultural practices, this is actually more important than it seems as it's probably directly related to the international fuel crisis. India relies heavily on sugarcane for the production of ethanol for gasoline. Last year, India began more heavily relying on sugarcane for this process instead of just molasses, and India now finds itself in trouble because they cannot grow enough sugarcane to meet the rising demand for local fuel production. The Hormuz crisis has the entire world watering down their fuel supply with ethanol, and now India is running out of sugar. India is also one of the biggest suppliers of sugar in the world, with most of their export partners being located in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.United Kingdom: This morning Health Secretary Wes Streeting resigned, continuing the political turmoil in the wake of the latest election cycle.Analyst Comment: Most expect Streeting to challenge Starmer's leadership of the party sometime within the next few days, in an attempt to oust him from office. Considering the number of high-ranking resignations over the past few days, this would make sense, so it's likely that the political situation in the U.K. will get busy soon.Cuba: This morning, Energy Minister Vicente de la O Levy stated that the entire nation is out of diesel and fuel oil as the American blockade of the island nation continues. The United States has offered to send an aid package of $100 million, in exchange for significant changes within the Cuban government.Analyst Comment: Prior to the capture of Maduro, nearly all of Cuba's petroleum supply came from Venezuela and Mexico. Now that the American government is more or less ruling Venezuela, all shipments of petroleum distillates to Cuba have been halted. Cuba has little domestic production capacity, and as a result the already desperate situation in the country has become worse over the past few months, as the United States has threatened to impose tariffs on any nation that provides energy to Cuba.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: President Trump's state visit to China continues, with various diplomatic talks and speeches taking place throughout the day. So far, nothing much of note has been discussed, beyond the generalities of the U.S. and China expressing mutual intent to work together. After migrants began taunting locals and making threats toward them through the fence, locals tossed lit road flares into the compound, which set the shrubbery on fire.Far East: President Trump arrived in Beijing this morning for the diplomatic state visit with Xi Jinping. The main focus of the trip is expected to be technology and business ventures, as a large collection of tech CEOs and entrepreneurs form a large part of the Presidential delegation.Middle East: Yesterday Kuwait claimed to have foiled an infiltration attempt by IRGC forces into their country, allegedly detaining a fireteam of four Iranian soldiers who were attempting to cross onto Bubiyan Island.Analyst Comment: Not many details have been provided regarding this incident, however for context, this island was used by the United States to launch HIMARs strikes within Iran during the height of the fighting two months ago.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Within the United States, the energy crisis continues to develop. On Monday, the Department of Energy announced emergency efforts to combat the rising costs of fuel. 53 million barrels of oil is to be released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) over the next few weeks, as the Middle East remains at war. Additionally, the White House has floated the idea of a federal gas tax holiday, which would reduce gas prices for customers nationwide by $0.18 per gallon for regular unleaded, and $0.24 for diesel. So far, several states have also temporarily halted their own statewide taxes on gasoline, though this has varied by state.More strategically, these measures are unlikely to matter much at all in the long run, and are purely band-aid solutions to mitigate a problem without addressing the main concern. Removing taxes, while appreciated by most, cannot conjure up supply when when a major trade route is cut off and there is no viable alternative. And right now the growing problem is availability, as global stockpiles of petroleum, oil, and lubricants begin to be impacted more seriously.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

Following the political tensions of the morning, more resignations have taken place, with Shadow Minister for Domestic Violence and Safeguarding Jess Phillips and Under-Secretary of State for Health Innovation and Safety Zubir Ahmed both resigning their posts this morning.Analyst Comment: This tidal wave of dissent from within Starmer's own party is probably a knee-jerk reaction to the devastating election losses over the past few days, in which his political opponents gained significant ground in Parliament. Many Britons have begun to dump the Labour Party for alternate choices due to the social, political, economic, and immigration issues being at a breaking point. PM Starmer has vowed to not step down for the time being, but the political situation remains in the balance as pressure on Starmer's government mounts.Mexico: Overnight a large fire was reported at the Salina Cruz Refinery in Oaxaca. Pemex officials have stated that the fire began inside a cooling tower at the Hidros 2 plant, which was in the process of being brought online to increase production at the facility. The fire was brought under control and extinguished after a few hours, and 6x workers at the refinery were injured as a result of the blaze.-HomeFront-Oklahoma: Yesterday afternoon an explosion was reported at the HF Sinclair Refinery in west Tulsa. The facility was able to contain the spread of the fire, and firefighters extinguished the fire after a few hours. The cause of the incident is not known as the investigation into the incident continues.California: Yesterday the mayor of Arcadia resigned after accepting a deal with the Department of Justice to plead guilty to serving as an unregistered Chinese agent. Mayor Eileen Wang admitted to serving the interests of the Chinese Communist Party, specifically with regards to promoting propaganda efforts directly from the Chinese government. According to the documents provided by the DoJ, Wang was in direct communication with high-ranking Chinese officials and was taking direct orders from leadership in Beijing regarding political decisions that were made by her office. Wang is expected to formally accept the plea deal within the next few weeks.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Yesterday's mass shooter in Cambridge has been identified as Tyler E. Brown, a resident of Boston. Brown has a long criminal history, and has displayed violent intent (just for the sake of violence) for many years. The latest example of this history includes a previous incident that took place under nearly identical circumstances. In 2020, Brown engaged in a shootout with police in Boston in a similar manner to yesterday's skirmish. During that incident six years ago, Brown began harassing and threatening random people on Northampton Street, before engaging police in a gun battle in the street. Brown was eventually wounded and detained, after attempting to kill everyone in his immediate vicinity. In the news articles from that 2020 shooting, Boston Police Commissioner William Gross was quoted as criticizing local judges for letting people like this out of jail and giving them a slap on the wrist, as even in 2020, Brown had been given light sentences for his previous crimes.Nevertheless, Brown was sentenced to only 5 years of prison time by Suffolk Superior Court Judge Janet Sanders, who rejected the recommended 10-12

NO CHANGE TO SITUATION IN MIDDLE EAST.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Europe: Following the Victory Day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, increased focus has been placed on ending the war. During the various VE Day celebrations and speeches, President Putin stated that he is willing to hold direct negotiations with Ukraine's Zelenskyy to seek a direct settlement to the war.Analyst Comment: Until a document is signed by all parties, this is just talk. However, this is the first time that Putin has indicated that he is willing to directly engage with Ukrainian leadership regarding a peace deal. The next stage would be for more direct talks to be scheduled at some point, now that the very basic starting point of negotiations seem to be within the realm of reason by both sides. Time will tell, though.-HomeFront-Massachusetts: This afternoon a shooting was reported in Cambridge near the intersection of River Street and Memorial Drive. One suspect (who has not yet been identified) reportedly engaged passing cars with a rifle, targeting vehicles seemingly at random. The suspect was eventually engaged by police, which resulted in a small skirmish in the street. Eventually, the suspect was either apprehended or neutralized by police, bringing an end to the attack. During the engagement, two individuals were reportedly wounded, though this is a developing situation at the time of this report and details are hard to verify. More information is expected to follow this evening.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: The situation in the Middle East remains largely unchanged over the past 48 hours. Targeting efforts on all sides remain challenging to geolocate, as all belligerents are waging lower-level warfare and pretending as if munitions are not being exchanged. Merchant vessels (transiting the Strait either inbound or outbound) continue to be attacked by the Iranians, and the United States continues to strike Iranian gunboats sporadically. Overnight, one vessel was struck by unidentified projectile off the coast of Qatar, marking the first targeting effort this far from the Strait in a month, reminding the world that the entire Persian Gulf is an active warzone, not just the Strait itself. Within mainland Iran, explosions have been reported throughout the country over the weekend, from Qeshm Island, to the old reactor complex in Arak. Locals often don't provide much context for the incidents they observe, and counting exact engagements and munitions is very challenging due to many of these engagements also taking place on the high seas. However over the past few days a handful of targeting efforts have taken place, possibly as many as a couple of dozen incidents all total. More strategically, the hard to predict nature of the conflict has kept most western-aligned merchant traffic from attempting the transit. The only way for a merchant to clear the Strait without getting targeted by the Iranians, is to follow the Iranian instructions for passage. And if a merchant does just that, there's no guarantee that the Americans will allow them through their blockade anyway. The end result is prolonging the conflict, fuel prices climbing higher, with no talks or diplomatic efforts yielding any results.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

USA INCREASES TARGETING AND INTERDICTION OPERATIONS IN THE GULF OF OMAN. MAJOR FIRE REPORTED AT REFINERY IN LOUISIANA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Middle East: Overnight, multiple targeting efforts took place in the Strait of Hormuz. The United Arab Emirates conducted multiple airstrikes in Iran, targeting facilities on Qeshm Island as well as the port of Bandar Abbas. This attack was reportedly conducted in conjunction with the United States (or with some US support), and resulted in Iranian counterattacks on the UAE as several drones and missile attacks were reported in Dubai. Officials did not state how many munitions hit their targets, however "3 moderate injuries" were reported on the ground in the UAE as a result of this first wave of attacks. As the fighting continued throughout the night, the UAE traded bombs and missiles with Iran for a few hours, and several merchant ships in the Strait were also struck. American warships struck a total of three merchant vessels throughout the region (possibly to include in the Strait itself) overnight, all of which were empty tanker vessels attempting to run the American blockade to onload a cargo of oil from Iranian ports. Similarly, the Iranians also reportedly hit several merchant vessels, though which ones remain unknown at the moment. After the shooting subsided in the early hours of this morning, the Iranians seized a tanker in the Gulf of Oman. The M/T OCEAN KOI (IMO: 9255933) was boarded by the IRGCN for allegedly "taking advantage of regional conditions to damage and disrupt Iran's oil exports and the interests of the Iranian nation".Analyst Comment: It's not clear as to why this vessel was boarded, as this is one of Iran's own shadow tankers which has been on the sanctions list for many years, and has previously helped export Iran's oil in violation of international sanctions. Her most recent name is the M/V JIN LI and last night she was inbound to the Persian Gulf to take on a cargo of Iranian oil at Iran's own ports. At the moment, the best guess is that the Iranians might have discovered that the oil was going to an unauthorized end customer and thus conducted the boarding. However it's also possible that during the events of the night, the Iranians needed to assert dominance, so they took the only ship that was within their reach, which happened to be one of their own.-HomeFront-Louisiana: This afternoon a major fire was reported at the PBF Chalmette Refinery. The cause of the fire has not been released, and as of this report firefighters are attempting to bring the fire under control. This facility is a comparatively smaller refinery that produces almost 200,000 bbl/d and in 2021, $550 million was invested in this facility to covert an older unit to produce diesel.Analyst Comment: Fires at refineries are more common than one might think, but this is the second fire at a refinery in the same area in a week's time. A few miles to the west, Shell reported a fire at their Norco facility last week, which was the result of a gas leak.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: At this point, it is hard to argue that the ceasefire is still in effect in the Middle East, but that definition probably doesn't matter at this point. Over the past 48 hours, multiple offensive actions have taken place throughout the region. Nevertheless, as CJCS Gen. Caine said yesterday, these attacks are "below the threshold" for the United States to consider the ceasefire violated. The effect of this policy is two-fold: For one, gas prices don't spike by admitting the war is back on, and two, Oman and the UAE (the nations getting hit by the Iranians) are rather slighted by attacks o

The individuals were passengers onboard the cruise ship, and are located in California, Georgia, and Arizona. -----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Following the halt to Project Freedom, the situation remains much the same in the Middle East. Nearly all ships in the region are either turning their transponders off, or their position is being concealed via Jamming/Spoofing. As a result, it's challenging to determine if a ship is successful in sneaking out, until it miraculously appears on AIS tracking maps in the Indian Ocean after a few days. One absolutely critical factor, which is nearly impossible to get fidelity on without an in-person observer on the ground, is which route is being taken by the handful ships that are escaping the Gulf. So far, several Chinese ships have also made it through the Strait...through the Iranian route. Concerning American ships, no western-aligned vessels appear to have tried the crossing after the handful of vessels were struck on Monday.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

HANTAVIRUS CASE REPORTED IN SWITZERLAND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Global: The Hantavirus crisis continues onboard the M/V HONDIUS. This morning, Switzerland reported that they were treating a man who had contracted Hantavirus by being a passenger on the ship, marking the first case reported outside the containment zone on the vessel. One British citizen is currently being treated in South Africa after being evacuated from the vessel, and so far a total of three passengers have died from the virus, with a total of eight people being reported infected at this time. So far, human-to-human transmission cases have reportedly taken place onboard the vessel, and passengers who have previously been on the vessel are in the process of being contacted. The World Health Organization has stated that one of the confirmed cases traveled on a commercial flight while infected, and three individuals who have tested positive for the virus have been evacuated from the HONDIUS and are inbound to the Netherlands for treatment.Middle East: This morning the United States engaged a merchant vessel attempting to break through the American blockade in the vicinity of the Gulf of Oman. The US Navy disabled the vessel with an F/A-18 gun run targeting the ship's rudder, which resulted in the vessel halting it's progress toward Iran. CENTCOM did not convey the current status of the vessel, or the status of the crew.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - The full criminal complaint regarding yesterday's shooting on the National Mall has been released, which provides a more clear picture of what happened. The suspect has been identified as Michael Marx, and the initial details of the incident were correct as initially reported; an undercover USSS agent saw the suspect printing a firearm in his waistband and requested a uniformed officer to make contact. As soon as the uniformed officer arrived, the suspect ran, drawing his firearm and shooting at the officer while attempting to evade. Agents returned fire on the suspect, wounding him, and during his subsequent apprehension, authorities learned that he was known by two other aliases, Patrick Michael and Michael Zavici. Court docs also state that he verbally expressed negative sentiment toward the White House, and that he had previous criminal history involving drug trafficking.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, Project Freedom has come to a halt just as quickly as it arrived, with President Trump stating in a Truth Social post that the operation will be "paused for a short period of time". This halt to the operation is allegedly being conducted for the purposes of a peace agreement being signed sometime today. If this is true, time will tell. However rhetoric is flying all around, and the halt to this operation coinciding with a strange report from the UKMTO, indicates that something else is going on.Yesterday evening another commercial vessel was struck in the Strait of Hormuz, though the UKMTO did not indicate whether or not this was a new vessel attempting to sneak through, or if this was a part of the initial handful of vessels that attempted to make the crossing as part of Project Freedom. Since this strike, no other targeting efforts have been undertaken by the Iranians for the past 15 hours. However, the interesting part is the report itself. For the first time, the UKMTO did not disclose the general location of this specific strike, and instead published a blank map of the Strait. CMA CGM, the major shipping group, claimed that the ship was theirs, and identified the vessel as the M/V SAN ANTONIO. Failing to disclose exactly where the ship was struck is an interesting detail

Last night, two Destroyers, the USS TRUXTON (DDG-103) and the USS MASON (DDG-87) crossed the Strait under heavy fire by the Iranians. Similarly, a KC-135 refueling tanker was observed conducting refueling operations for aircraft supporting Project Freedom throughout the night. At some point, the KC-135 declared an emergency and broke station, though the context of this situation remains unclear.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - Yesterday afternoon, a shooting was reported in the vicinity of 15th Street and Independence Avenue. The suspect was originally identified by plain-clothes officers who saw the suspect's concealed firearm printing through his clothing. The USSS attempted to engage with the suspect, and during that approach the suspect drew his firearm and began firing at federal agents. USSS personnel returned fire, wounding the suspect. One bystander was wounded by the suspect during the engagement, though they sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Analyst Comment: The suspect has not been identified, and no further details of the suspect's intent have been provided. The USSS did make a note that the Vice President's motorcade passed through that intersection just a few minutes beforehand, and no mention was made of the suspect conducting an attack on the motorcade (despite initial reports). As a result, it's not clear as to if this was a routine crime/gang situation, or a more deliberate targeting effort. More details may come in due time, but as of now there is not enough context to determine what the intent of the engagement was.Texas: This afternoon a mass shooting was reported at a shopping center in the Carrollton Koreatown. Multiple people were wounded at the K Towne Plaza after one assailant conducted a small arms attack at a business center within the shopping center. Concerning casualties, 2x people were killed and 3x people were wounded during the attack, with the suspect fleeing on foot before being apprehended in the shopping center. The suspect has been identified as Seung Han Ho, and no information has been provided regarding a potential motive for the attack.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: As of this morning, the situation in the Middle East is still very fluid, but based on the events of the past 48 hours, a resumption of the shooting-phase of the war is increasingly more likely. In the Persian Gulf, the sudden disappearance of hundreds of vessels (or their "convergence" on one single point) on tracking maps is a classic case of both GPS jamming and AIS spoofing. Though many commentators have been hesitant to report the truth of what this is an indicator of (for OPSEC reasons), this professional courtesy is a moot point now, because SECWAR Hegseth let the cat out of the bag during a press conference this morning. When the spoofing first began en masse over such a large area late last night, this was a flashing neon sign indicating exactly one course of action...a mass convoy to surge ships out of the Gulf. This morning the Pentagon confirmed that hundreds of ships are staging in the Persian Gulf right now, with the goal of conducting a surge through the Strait. Considering the very kinetic entrance to the Gulf that was conducted by two American Destroyers, it's absolutely certain that many commercial vessels will be struck and/or sunk during this operation, but this appears t

IRAN CLAIMS TO TARGET US NAVY "PATROL BOAT" IN STRAIT OF HORMUZ, CENTCOM CLAIMS TO SINK 6X IRANIAN GUNBOATS IN GULF. VEHICLE RAMMING ATTACK REPORTED IN GERMANY.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Strait of Hormuz: Major developments have taken place in the Strait over the weekend. Last night, President Trump announced the creation of "Project Freedom", a plan to allegedly "guide" third-party commercial ships out of the Persian Gulf, so as to at least get non-affiliated ships out of the combat zone for humanitarian reasons. Today, the details of the plan became more clear, and it also became clear that the Iranians did not agree with this plan, nor were they notified ahead of time. Early this morning, the United States revealed that the plan was actually the publishing of an alternate traffic scheme for merchant vessels to transit the Strait using Omani territorial waters. Immediately after this plan was published, two merchant vessels made the crossing attempt, both of which were either struck with Iranian cruise missiles or drones. Later on, a third vessel was reportedly on fire in the Strait, though the cause of the fire is not yet known. Following this incident, the IRGCN released a new map of the Strait, with two no-go barriers depicted to the east and west, further stressing that the Strait is closed. At some point throughout the day, the United States has claimed that two unidentified vessels were able to make it out of the Gulf, though the names of these vessels have not been released yet.Separately, kinetic targeting between the United States and Iran appears to have resumed on the high seas. After the United States announced the implementation of Project Freedom, US Forces conducted kinetic strikes on 6x Iranian gunboats patrolling either the Strait of Hormuz, or the Persian Gulf itself. On the Iranian side, the IRGCN have claimed to have targeted what they describe as an American Patrol Boat with two cruise missiles during the earlier strikes on merchant vessels. The Iranians claim that these missiles were not targeting the vessel, but were serving as warning shots to prevent the US vessel from proceeding further.Analyst Comment: Due to the linguistic and cultural barrier, all Middle Eastern nations tend to use doctrinally incorrect terminology when referring to American warships. In this case, "patrol boat" might not refer to an actual Riverine Command Boat (RCB), but might refer to a Destroyer (DDG) or maybe a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). CENTCOM issued a carefully worded statement confirming that a ship had not been hit, but did not address the claims directly. On the other hand, the Iranians have been known to make outlandish claims regarding the targeting of American warships, so it's equally possible that the Iranians tried to sink the vessel, then claimed that the missiles were "warning shots", so as to save face from successful interceptions. However, last night the sky over Hormuz was filled with munitions, and multiple hulls are burning in the Strait as of this morning, so out of all of the prior claims made by the Iranians, this one is the most plausible situation where the Iranians might have actually come close to hitting an American vessel.United Arab Emirates: After this morning's scuffle in the Strait, four Iranian drones/cruise missiles were reported in Fujairah, as Iranian forces targeted the large oil refinery complex which has been used to circumvent the need for merchant tankers to transit the Strait. The UAE indicated that three of these munitions were intercepted, but one made it through to it's target, with several large fires being reported at the refinery this afternoon. In response to these attacks, the UAE has begun to re

It's not clear as to if this is a standard gang-fight-turned-stabbing, or if this was a more deliberate terror attack.Washington D.C. - This afternoon the White House sent a letter to Congress stating that hostilities against Iran have "terminated" and therefore the obligations of the War Powers Resolution are not relevant to the current conflict.Analyst Comment: Regarding this Resolution, under most common interpretations of the law, a President has 60 days to either ask Congress to declare war, or request an extension of an overseas conflict. This 60-day deadline came into effect yesterday, and this afternoon the White House has taken the official position that due to the ceasefire, no Congressional action is required, even if the Strait of Hormuz is closed and no peace agreement is signed. This doesn't mean much, as hostilities can recommence at any moment, and this is mostly a way of the White House skirting Congress by arguing that if the war is paused for a period of time, the clock restarts.USA: Around the nation, various May Day protests were carried out in most major cities with varying levels of attendance. Most of the demonstrations were fairly low intensity, with the most kinetic events taking place at the New York Stock Exchange as activists attempted to rush the entrance and chain themselves to something. They did not succeed and most of the more active riots/demonstrations throughout the country resolved after a few sporadic scuffles.Analyst Comment: As of this report demonstrations are still ongoing, so more active incidents could develop as night falls. This afternoon, at least one activist has climbed the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge in Washington D.C. and set up a tent, so other similar encampment operations may be planned for the weekend in various high-profile locations around the country.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Around the world, the fuel crisis continues to compound, with costs rising substantially for some industries. This measure was intended only for the month of June, but has been extended to go into effect today, for the month of May. So far, Europe has been hit the hardest by the fuel crisis, with prices and sheer availability itself being a challenge throughout the continent, which has also manifested itself even more unusually due to the lack of a centralized way to determine how much time is left before fuel runs out. Two days ago, one energy official was quoted in a Politico article, stating that by and large, Europe doesn't actually know how much time they have left, because there's no real way to know how much fuel is being stockpiled by the dozens of nations throughout the continent. Some places may run out within days, other nations and regions might never run out, it's impossible to know

Several FPV drone strikes have targeted Israeli armor in the border regions of Lebanon over the past few days, and Israeli forces continue to mandate the evacuation of the newly created "buffer zone" south of the Litani River.United Kingdom: Counterterrorism policing operations have continued in the wake of the Golders Green attack yesterday, with authorities confirming that the suspect who conducted the stabbing is of Somali origin. The individual has been identified as Essa Suleiman, an individual who had previously been arrested for stabbing two police officers back in 2008. After this incident, he was incarcerated and a flagged as a potential terrorist threat under the Prevent program in 2020. At some point he was released and/or escaped the mental institution he was confined to, before conducting the stabbing yesterday. This morning, the national terrorism threat level was raised to SEVERE, meaning that further terror attacks are highly likely.Russia: Ukrainian targeting efforts throughout the nation have increased over the past few weeks, as Ukrainian forces pivot to targeting Russian oil terminals and refineries. The Lukoil petroleum refinery in Perm was hit overnight, along with the Tuapse Refinery on the Black Sea coast.Analyst Comment: This pivot to targeting Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricant (POL) facilities began in earnest last October, after a prolonged period of stagnation along the various front lines. As the war has been going on for a long time now, these targeting efforts received little attention outside the various communities observing the war. From Ukraine's perspective, these targeting efforts are perfectly reasonable, but for the rest of the world, the timing of this is going to cause an already tenuous oil market to increasingly be threatened. With the Middle East oil markets severely stifled by the Gulf War, the footnote that Russia is one of the largest producers of energy in the world has become a rather important detail. Russian oil refineries being blown up by the Ukrainians, while President Trump has alluded to the war continuing for some time, is almost certain to have follow-on effects which will (in the short term) drive up costs for nearly everything.-HomeFront-New York: This morning an explosion was reported at a residence in Queens. The incident began after one suspect (who has been identified as Anrup Parasram) attempted to break in to the residence, where his wife was living. A domestic disturbance developed, which involved the suspect attempting to conduct a stabbing attack. As authorities arrived on scene, the suspect barricaded himself inside the structure, before setting the house (and himself) on fire. A few moments later, the house exploded, possibly due to the suspect filling the home with natural gas. So far only minor injuries have been reported among responders, and the suspect remains "unaccounted for" per the FDNY.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Yesterday Brent crude futures briefly jumped to $120/bbl upon the news of the strategic situation regarding the war in the Middle East. In addition to the UAE announcing their departure from OPEC, diplomatic efforts to end the war are stagnant at best and President Trump has indicated that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will be in place on more of a long-term basis. Yesterday, a post was made on President Trump's Truth Social account referencing a "nonnuclear deal". Though the meaning of this is not perfectly clear (and thus can be interpreted in any numbe

//The Wire//2300Z April 29, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: CONFLICT INTENSIFIES IN MALI. STABBING ATTACK STRIKES LONDON. UNITED ARAB EMIRATES DECIDE TO LEAVE OPEC.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Middle East: Yesterday the United Arab Emirates announced their intention to withdraw from OPEC, the organization of Oil Producing and Exporting Countries which are responsible for the coordination of oil production throughout the region.Analyst Comment: This is an important development that might be an early indicator of much more serious changes within the petroleum sector. Most of the major oil refineries in the UAE getting smoked by the Iranians was probably the driving factor behind this decision, or rather the last straw for the Emirates, who has been increasingly annoyed with OPEC's quota system over the years. However, since many other nations also saw catastrophic damage to their main source of national income, it is possible that a free-for-all situation might develop over time, whereby OPEC's stability is called into question. In short, the already volatile oil market is likely to stay insane for quite a while.Africa: The situation remains tense in Mali, as multiple different conflicts begin to come to a head. A few days ago, several separate attacks throughout the nation morphed into becoming a larger-scale uprising. Two groups, JNIM and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) coordinated to launch major attacks throughout the country, mostly focusing on the capital of Bamako, as well as major military bases in Kati and other major cities. During the attacks, Mali's Defense Minister was killed during an alleged Vehicle-Borne IED attack on his home. Due to the deteriorating security situation, most European nations and the U.S. have recommended either leaving the country as soon as possible or sheltering in place if it's too late to leave.United Kingdom: Two incidents have taken place in Golders Green over the past 24 hours. Yesterday a suspected arson incident was reported at a memorial wall set up for Iranians killed during the war. Separately, a stabbing attack was reported this morning in the same area, which involved a man approaching a bus stop and stabbing people on the street. The man was detained by a Shomrim foot patrol in the area, and a total of two people were wounded during this attack. Hours after the incident, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI) claimed credit for the attack.Separately, a large-scale police raid was conducted at Webb House in Crewe. This former orphanage had been turned into a migrant hotel, before eventually serving as the headquarters for a new religion, the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light. Over 500 police officers raided the compound this morning, in conjunction with investigations which indicated that this facility was serving as a large-scale human trafficking center, as well as clearing house for slaves, who were reportedly being bought and sold at the facility.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: The source material for what's going on in Mali is nearly entirely Russian, as this is Russia's expeditionary fight to protect their interests in the region. However, quite significant events are underway in the Sahel, and the fighting has been widespread over the past few days. For context, after the French and Americans began leaving Mali (or reducing their roles) Russia and China stepped in to control the power vacuum. Nevertheless, the security situation deteriorated anyway, and now al-Qaeda is roaring back to power via splinter groups which have attracted tens of thousands of fighters. The Russian Africa Corp is saying that 12,000 fighters took part in the various attacks throughout the country, but this figure cannot be verified for obvious reasons. Either way, the situation is very hot throughout Mali, and the conflict is likely to intensify if one side gets the upp

//The Wire//2300Z April 28, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: WAR IN LEBANON CONTINUES DESPITE CEASEFIRE. PIRACY ACTIVITY COMPLICATES MERCHANT TRAFFIC IN THE GULF OF ADEN, THREAT LEVEL ELEVATED. SOMALI DAYCARES RAIDED IN MINNEAPOLIS.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Lebanon: The war continues as before, with Hezbollah conducting FPV drone strikes on Israeli armor, which are continuing their clearance operations in southern Lebanon.Analyst Comment: The ceasefire between these two belligerents being such a sticking point with the Iranian talks has not really resulted in a cessation of the war. At best, the Israelis have slowed down the bombing within downtown Beirut, but otherwise this war continues on.Red Sea/HOA: As the tenuous situation continues in the Persian Gulf, the Somalis have begun to increase hijacking attempts targeting commercial vessels in the vicinity of the Gulf of Aden. Last week, Somali pirates boarded and hijacked an unidentified tanker vessel, directing the vessel to Somalia's territorial waters. Overnight, another hijacking was reported as the M/V SWARD was hijacked in a similar manner, with the vessel being taken to the pirate strongholds along the eastern coast of the country. After these two hijacking incidents, another piracy attempt was reported today, to the east, farther off the coast. Separately, a local Somali fishing boat was hijacked by Somali pirates last week, and an attempted boarding was reported in the same area.Analyst Comment: Piracy activity in the Gulf of Aden has been a mainstay for decades. However, now that many shipping routes are skewed due to the Gulf War, piracy activity has increased over the past few weeks. Two successful hijackings and several other attempted hijacking operations taking place within just a few days is noteworthy, especially for the companies attempting to adjust to the radical changes to maritime shipping brought on by the war. As a result the UKMTO has elevated the threat to SUBSTANTIAL for the Somali Basin and the Somali Coast.-HomeFront-Minnesota: This morning the FBI conducted raids at several Somali daycare facilities in Minneapolis, many of which were at the center of previous fraud scandals. The Quality Learing Center was among the list of sites where evidence was collected, and around a dozen facilities in total were the target of the raids. The city of Minneapolis was not a part of the raid, and went out of their way to distance themselves from the federal investigations into these facilities.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Not many details have emerged regarding the Washington Hilton assassination attempt, beyond what was immediately published the day of the shooting. The shooter's home in Torrance, California was raided on Sunday, but no disclosures have been made regarding whether or not anything was found. One of the major intelligence gaps (at least in the public sphere) is whether or not the suspect was communicating with anyone else before the attack. Some indications are present that he was talking to family members (who knew he possessed violent intent), but it is not known if the suspect was coordinating or communicating with anyone online, specifically to plan the attack. Most of the high-profile targeting efforts observed over the past few years (not just the Trump assassination attempts, but the Kirk assassination and the sniper attacks on ICE facilities) have involved the shooters having an extensive online presence, which in most cases indicated some level of communication with others. In this case, Allen survived the attack, so his testimony is at least available, and more time will be needed to determine if anyone else was involved in the planning phases of the attack.Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground
