Don Donderi is a citizen of the US and Canada and has lived in Montreal since 1962. He entered the University of Chicago at age 15 and graduated with a BA in 1955 and a BSc in biological psychology in 1958. While earning his PhD in experimental psychology at Cornell University in 1963, he worked as an engineering psychologist for the IBM Corporation, developing navigation displays for the B-52 bomber. He was a member of the Department of Psychology at McGill University from 1962 to 2009. He served as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at McGill from 1975 to 1978. In 2013 he published UFOs, ETs and Alien Abductions: A Scientist Looks at the Evidence (Hampton Roads Press), and in 2022, Truth, Lies and ETs: How we Stumbled into the Universe (Moonshine Cove Press) . He is a Principal Consultant at a Toronto-based ergonomics consulting firm that he co-founded in 1982. He began his professional career as a research psychologist with IBM where he helped to develop radar navigation displays for the B-52 bomber.After graduating from Cornell University with a PhD in experimental psychology he joined the Faculty of Science of McGill University, where he taught undergraduate psychology, trained PhD students and served as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. He retired from McGill in 2009 after a career of 47 years. He has written over one hundred basic research papers and technical reports dealing with the science of human visual perception and memory, co-authored one textbook and edited another. He co-founded a Toronto-based ergonomics consulting company and has carried out applied research and development projects for private and government clients on topics including flight instrumentation, flight simulation, marine navigation in ocean and arctic environments, nuclear safety and chemical process engineering. His entire career has been in the mainstream of science and engineering. His conclusions reveal that UFOs are real extraterrestrial vehicles and Some ET crews catch and release humans, and they are here to study us. Guest: Don C. Donderi, PhD., The American Personality Inventory (API) is a test that was developed by Ted Davis, Budd Hopkins and Donderi to assess the validity of a report that someone has been abducted by extraterrestrials. It consists of 65 true-false questions and can be completed in about ten minutes either on paper or on a digital device. To develop the API, we compared the answers to 608 true-false questions from 52 people whose abduction narratives were verified by researchers like Hopkins and David Jacobs to the answers from two other groups of people. One group  of75 controls were people who we simply asked to help us develop a new personality test, but who we had no reason to believe had been abducted. Another group of 26 simulators  were people whom we were sure knew about the ET abduction phenomenon but whom we had no reason to believe had been abducted. We asked the people in this group to complete the API as if they had been abducted. Using a statistical tool called multivariate discriminant analysis, we were able to classify each person into one of the three groups: abductees, controls or simulators  based on the pattern of their responses to each of 65 of the original 608 true-false questions. We report here the results of an analysis of 138 more people who completed to the 65-question API, and who had also completed the online Experiencer Survey that is managed by the MUFON Experiencer Research Team. But they might also have been extra-terrestrial vehicles, says Don Donderi, a retired McGill professor who has studied UFOs since 1965 “There are cases going back 50 years of pilots seeing what we call nocturnal lights,” Donderi said. “They provide some evidence that some of what people see in the sky and call UFOs are extra-terrestrial vehicles.” He situates himself somewhere between the DeGrasse Tyson “establishment,” which denies there is any evidence of extra-terrestrial contact with Earth, and those who see in UFOs proof of the second coming.
