Soul Doctor is Jimmy Carpenter's fourth solo project, produced by Jimmy and recorded in Las Vegas at Nonebody Studio 1.  Jimmy assembled a first-class group of musicians on Soul Doctor which features Jimmy Carpenter on saxophone and vocals, along with Cameron Tyler (drums/percussion/background vocals), Jason Langley (bass), Trevor Johnson (guitar), Chris Tofield (guitar/background vocals), Red Young (keys), Carrie Stowers (background vocals), and Queen Aries (background vocals). Soul Doctor also features special guest appearances by guitarist Nick Schnebelen on the track Soul Doctor, The Bender Brass: Doug Woolverton (trumpet), and Mark Earley (baritone sax), and Al Ek on harmonica on Wrong Turn. You can see from the look on my face during the entirety of my time with Vashty Mompoint that I am simply in awe of her abundant talent, her ferocious intelligence and her unwavering poise. A Broadway and film actor, singer/songwriter, voiceover artist and director/choreographer, Vasthy is a true Renaissance Artist and my conversation with her runs the gamut of topics from being the child of Haitian immigrants to working with young artists today in every landscape of our industry. Her remarkable resume boasts eight...yes, EIGHT broadway shows; including SpongeBob Squarepants, Mary Poppins, Hot Feet, Soul Doctor, Rocky (I gush about that fight scene in the episode and I'm STILL gobsmacked thinking about it now, years after seeing the show!!! Under Rhoads' tutelage, Janet became an ace six-string player and, while still in high school, parlayed this education into a position as the lead guitarist for the all-female rock band Precious Metal. Precious Metal released several albums and wrote with Heart, Poison and Cheap Trick. Robin has toured, performed with, recorded, or written songs with Tommy Emmanuel, Peppino D'Agostino, Meredith Brooks, Monty Montgomery, Michelle Shocked, Maia Sharp, Marcy Levy (co-writer with Eric Clapton on “Lay Down Sally”), Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart), Garrison Starr, Anne McCue and many more. She was also the touring guitarist of Air Supply in 2007-2008.  In 2017 she was named in Guitar Player's “Top 50 Acoustic Guitarists” (Bonus List), amongst many notable players. In 2017, she had an original song in a short film “Casting All Corpses” which won the “Best Comedy Short Award” for the Reel Hollywood Film Festival.  In January of 2015, Janet was hand-picked to coach and consult actress Jennifer Jason Leigh for 2 months on location and in Los Angeles for a special guitar scene in the Quentin Tarantino film, "The Hateful Eight." Kevin Randle was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, grew up in Denver, Colorado and entered the Army in Texas. He learned to fly helicopters, had a tour in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and then left active duty for college. He attended the University of Iowa and upon graduation was commissioned into the Air Force Reserve. Randle spent most of his Air Force career as an intelligence officer. In 1986, he was released into the inactive reserve. Randle became interested in UFOs as a teenager and continued his studies after joining the Army. He served as a field investigator for APRO, was one of the first to investigate cattle mutilations and was the first to report an alien abduction from inside a home. His most important work has been in the Roswell UFO crash case. With Don Schmitt he wrote UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL and THE TRUTH ABOUT THE UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL. He has also written THE ROSWELL ENCYCLOPEDIA. His other UFO books included PROJECT BLUEBOOK EXPOSED, A HISTORY OF UFO CRASHES, SCIENTIFIC UFOLOGY and THE ABDUCTION ENIGMA. Morgellons disease is right out of science-fiction novels in that the symptoms are certainly not ordinary. UFOs and the Media - Lee Speigel has been interested in the idea of UFOs, aliens, living dinosaurs and the whole range of topics that often overlap the worlds of science and unexplained phenomena since he was a young boy. His first foray into the pursuit and investigation of these topics was in 1975 when he produced and wrote a documentary record album, "UFOs: The Credibility Factor," for CBS Inc. It marked the first time that military and scientific voices came together to disclose their personal UFO encounters and to call for government recognition of the phenomenon. In 1978, in another early attempt at UFO disclosure, but this time on a world stage, Speigel became the only person in history to produce a major presentation on UFOs at the United Nations. Under the sponsorship of Grenada, he brought together leading military and scientific experts who urged world leaders to establish an international UFO study panel. Between 1978 and 1986, Speigel produced, wrote and hosted NBC Radio's "UFO Reports," "Unexplained Phenomena" and "The Edge of Reality" (nearly 1500 local and national programs, spanning eight years.) 1978 was also important as Speigel became one of the first media personalities -- through his NBC Radio features — to bring public awareness of the now-legendary 1947 Roswell, NM, UFO crash; through the efforts of nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, Speigel produced a weeklong series of radio reports that featured exclusive interviews with military personnel who were directly involved with the initial Roswell cover-up. Within the same time period as his NBC experience, Speigel was also a feature writer for OMNI magazine, including several cover stories about UFOs and cryptozoology. In 1993, he produced and wrote "Lincoln's Music In America: The Classics In Space," a national award-winning classical music special focusing on the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital - Sylvia Shults has been a paranormal investigator for several years. She began her career as a ghost hunter as a result of doing the research for her nonfiction book Ghosts of the Illinois River (Quixote Press, 2010). Her fascination with ghosts dates back to her childhood, as she is an avid reader who was raised on Grimm's Fairy Tales. A few years ago, Shults was inspired to write a collection of people's supernatural experiences at the Peo- ria State Hospital in Bartonville, Illinois. This project quickly swelled into Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital. The book incorporates the history of the asylum as well as the many ghost stories that have arisen out of the asylum's abandonment. In an effort to separate fact from fiction, Shults thoroughly explores the true history of the hospital. "It's fascinating," she says. "The Peoria State Hospital was a place of great advances in mental health care. Was there agony there? I don't doubt it. Mental illness is an agonizing thing. So is alcoholism. So is TB. But that's not nearly the whole story of this remarkable institution. There was also incredible tenderness and car- ing. Dr. George Zeller was responsible for unprecedented reforms in the field of mental health care. I feel incredi- bly fortunate to have been able to write a book that not only tells some really unnerving ghost tales, but also the true stories of Dr. Zeller and his dedicated staff." Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital is a result of years of research. Shults spoke to dozens of people who have had paranormal experiences at the abandoned asylum. She has also done many inves- tigations of her own.
