No game seems to be safe these days with "new editions" being released, enticing you to replace their predecessors. Up next on the chopping block is Terra Mystica, with the newest title in the series: Age of Innovation. We share our review of the game and see if it is as innovative as it claims. We also review recent plays including Duelosaur Island, and discuss how we can help improve each other's proficiency in gaming as we prepare for A Song of Ice and Fire: US Nationals. Keyifli dinlemeler! Intro and Outro Song: Upbeat Party by Scott Holmes --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/saatyonupodcast/message

In this show, we review My First Castle Panic, Duelosaur Island, Transformers TCG,Dice of Pirates, and Mice and Mystics: Downwood Tales. Eric talks about going to Pip’s Island, and we answer a slew of questions, including our favorite foldable boards, optional Kickstarter buys, and more! Finally, we end the show talking about our favorite games that start with the letter "D"!
To kick off today's episode, we chat about two reiterations of popular games. First, Anthony breaks down Duelosaur Island (7:46), the streamlined two player version of Dinosaur Island that promises nearly as much game in almost half of the table space. Then Jason presents Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth (19:04), a post-apocalypse/ comic book retheme of the popular Lost Expedition from two years ago. Jason and Anthony then engage a difficult topic - social media in board gaming. We've heard a lot about how the internet and social media have been great for growing the hobby and connecting folks all over the world. We definitely acknowledge that. However, if you follow the news at all, you'll know there's an underside to these social media platforms, particularly their behaviors as companies and how their products impact our lives and our happiness. We break some of that down and offer thoughts on how we navigate these issues. As always, we are open to any feedback about this (or any other) episode! Who doesn't love dinosaurs! Well, Dennis Nedry probably. But for those of us not eaten by dilophosaurs, welcome to Duelosaur Island, a 2-player dino-splicing, park-building game. Also, we discuss that phrase that's been going around for a while, "That's an activity, not a game." and we ask, does it really matter? Tell us what you think.
In this episode, the segments are a bit out of order. We have found the responsible parties and they have been sacked. In the intro/friends segment, Matt and Derek chat with Craig about, you guessed it, more Arkham Horror LCG, plus Duelosaur Island, Viticulture, Quacks of Quedlinberg, and Terraforming Mars. In the family segment, which comes last, Erin and Tyler chat about Azul 2: Electric Boogaloo, Mr. Cabbagehead's Garden, and a suite of Jackbox Games.
In this episode, the brandt reviews a pile of games including: Duelosaur Island, Dice Throne, Fleet: The Dice Game, Liguria, Pandemic: Fall of Rome, Scorpius Freighter, and AuZtralia. He then discusses his other favorites from 2018. Enjoy!
We spent so much time thinking about whether we COULD play Duelosaur Island, we didn't .... no, actually, we did spend a lot of time thinking about whether we should -- and we agree that we AND YOU should play it! A purely two-player game from Pandasaurus Games, Duelosaur Island blends dice drafting, resource management, a little bit of take that!-style action, and comes up with an enjoyable visit to the world of dino DNA, risk management, and excitement!
We begin with holiday game talk including The Game (11:56), Telepathy (13:55), Duelosaur Island (17:50), Shadows: Amsterdam (24:09), Architects of the West Kingdom (26:58), Deckscape: Heist in Venice (30:22), Exit:The Sinister Mansion (32:30) and Space Base (34:53). We also discuss, spoiler free, the new Black Mirror choose your own adventure style episode Bandersnatch (38:52) and Bird Box (41:48). We also discuss Stephanie's 30th escape room (44:14)! We close with reading goals tips for 2019 (46:20).
Sean is back in the hotseat with Ronan, ready to guide you through six reviews of games released at Essen 2018. Up for discussion this week; Forum Trajanum, Keyflow, Newton, Expancity, NEOM and Duelosaur Island. Verdicts vary wildly this time around as some impress and others depress.
The episode starts off with a TWHIP! As our hosts gush about Spiderman Into the Spiderverse. Moving on the recently played games, Zach went Dinosaur Amusement Park V Dinosaur Amusement Park in Duelosaur Island, Jeff got crushed in Kingdom Death Monster, and Adrian continues to cheat on the podcast with the Mile High Dungeon Delvers. In News, Hasbro builds a park, Santorini goes digital, and Power grid gets a recharged edition. In Kickstarters, Stonehedge struggles to find a place for the sun, Roll through the Ages gets a reprint, and Dized gets relaunched. Some listener feedback closes out the show. 00:00:33 - Intro Banter!
