In this episode, I talk about how every response we get from our horses comes back to us—our thoughts, our body position, and the signals we give. That's why it's so important for us to stay sharp and in-tune throughout the training process. When we lack awareness, it often creates anxiety and frustration for the horse. Issues people blame on the gate, the box, or the environment are usually not about the obstacle itself—it's the discomfort the horse associates with what happens after they're there. Whether it's helping your horse get into the right body position or recognizing when something physical might be bothering them, awareness matters. If you learn to listen, your horse will tell you exactly how good of a job you're doing.

Are you struggling to keep the noise of life quiet? Imagine tuning an old-school radio, turning the dial through the static until a clear voice finally breaks through. That is the art of cultivating spiritual hearing. In this special MashUp Episode, we are slowing down to quiet the clamor and intentionally tune into the frequency of the Spirit.I'm sharing a deeply personal encounter from 2016 that shifted my perspective forever—the morning Lonnie Frisbee, a key catalyst of the Jesus Revolution, stepped from the unseen realm directly into my bedroom. We're pulling up the roots of those nagging questions like, "Who told you it wasn't working?" and replacing them with the truth of God's signature of grace upon your life. From the practical "life skill" of getting present through journaling to recognizing the "portals" of encounter in your own home—even standing in front of your bathroom mirror—this episode is designed to help you sharpen your spiritual axe and move the needle toward the dreams God has placed in your heart.EPISODE TAKEAWAYS The Frequency of Stillness: How to find the "lucid place" where your spirit communicates with your understanding. Sharpening the Axe: Why tool preparation and "getting present" is more vital than the work itself. The Cloud of Witnesses: A firsthand account of an encounter with Lonnie Frisbee and the "agreement" signed in the Spirit. One Faith, One Source: Shifting from "mustering up faith" to resting in the faith of Jesus that already lives within you. Practical Journaling: Why writing it down is a scientifically and spiritually backed gateway to self-confidence and divine clarity.

In this episode of Fellowship of Kingdom Professionals, Michael Blue continues The Wisdom Prayer series by examining King Solomon's focused and unselfish request for wisdom. Drawing from Proverbs 4, Psalm 27, Isaiah 55, and Ecclesiastes 10, this teaching reveals why wisdom is more than knowledge; it is skill for living, leading, and reigning effectively. Solomon's prayer was not motivated by self-promotion, but by a desire to govern God's people with excellence, clarity, and efficiency. Using the powerful analogy of a sharpened axe, Blue explains how wisdom increases effectiveness while reducing unnecessary strain. When the edge is sharp, less strength is required—and more work gets done. If you desire a life and career that brings glory to God, good to people, and gratification to your soul, this episode will guide you in praying the wisdom prayer. https://teachhoops.com/ As the playoffs approach, every coach feels the pressure to add just one more thing. One more set. One more adjustment. One more emphasis. In this episode, Coach Collins tackles the tension between urgency and restraint and why late-season success is more about sharpening than overloading. This conversation explores how teams often stall not because they lack preparation, but because they lose clarity. When roles get fuzzy and priorities expand, confidence slips. Strong in-season leadership means identifying what actually wins for your team and protecting it relentlessly. If you're a few weeks away from postseason play and feeling that pull to do more, this episode will help you pause, refocus, and lead with intention. #767 Want a “business development cheat code” that also builds your authority, content engine, and network at the same time? In this episode, host Brien Gearin welcomes back podcasting coach Travis Chappell for a super practical, “podcasters talking podcasting” deep dive into why entrepreneurs should consider starting a show. Travis breaks down the real benefits beyond chasing downloads — using podcasting to build competence and communication skills, generate cash through leads/sales (and eventually sponsorships), create a simple content engine, and — most importantly — build powerful connections that can unlock relationships you'd never get access to otherwise. They also dig into how to monetize early without huge audience numbers, how to avoid turning interviews into slimy sales calls, and how ridiculously easy (and affordable) it is to launch a podcast today with basic gear and AI-assisted production! What we discuss with Travis: + Who should start a podcast + Podcasting's “golden age” + The 5 C's framework + Building competence through interviews + Sharpening communication skills + Podcasting as a content engine + Monetizing without massive downloads + Sponsorships vs. products/services + Podcasts as relationship “Trojan Horses” + Avoiding slimy sales tactics Thank you, Travis! Growth doesn't come from adding more. It comes from removing what's dulling you. Episode Overview In this episode of Shark Theory, Baylor reflects on a childhood memory sparked by an old photo and a pair of Jabot jeans. Back in fifth grade, walking to the pencil sharpener was a flex. But that memory turned into a deeper lesson. A pencil only gets sharp when something is taken away. That same principle applies to life. So often, we think improvement means adding more. More goals. More skills. More validation. More people. But real sharpness comes from subtraction. From removing complacency, procrastination, distractions, and the need to fit in. Baylor challenges the idea that losing people or situations is a bad thing. Growth requires shedding. Sharpening requires friction. And becoming exceptional means letting go of versions of yourself that no longer serve you. Instead of chasing people, approval, or opportunities, the goal is to become so good at one thing that people come to you. Masters don't chase. They attract. The episode also explores the danger of trying to be everything to everyone. When your identity becomes about fitting in, you spend your life chasing instead of building. Baylor shares how his own career changed when he stopped listing everything he did and committed to excelling at one thing. Sharpening yourself means asking a hard question. What is your one thing? And what are you willing to remove to become exceptional at it? Key Takeaways • Growth comes more from subtraction than addition • Sharpening requires letting go of people, habits, and old identities • Chasing validation keeps you average • Masters attract, they don't chase • Trying to be good at everything keeps you great at nothing • Losing the wrong things helps you find yourself • Removing distractions creates focus and power Featured Quote "You never clean a room by adding to it. You get sharp by removing what's dulling you." Closing Thought You're sharper than you think. But some things around you are keeping you dull. Decide what needs to be removed and sharpen yourself.

You don't need to feel more to be faithful. You don't need constant confirmation to be close to Christ. And silence does not mean distance. This week, instead of measuring your discipleship by emotion or progress, notice where your attention is going—and gently bring it back to Jesus Christ. Because what we look at grows. And when we look to Him, even quietly, grace begins to reframe how we experience the weight of mortality. You're not failing. You're not behind. And you're not alone.00:00 — Deb opens: Attention, weariness, and inward driftDeb introduces the idea that when life feels heavy or quiet, our attention naturally turns inward—not because we're failing, but because we're human.02:45 — The Fall and spiritual self-monitoringScott introduces the idea that one of the quieter effects of the Fall is constant self-evaluation rather than rebellion.05:30 — “Why don't I feel the Spirit?”Examples of how self-monitoring shows up in prayer, sacrament meeting, scripture study, and comparison.09:40 — Weariness is not abandonmentA clear return to last week's message: silence and heaviness are not signs of distance from Christ.12:20 — Symptoms vs relationshipScott contrasts symptom-focused spirituality with relationship-centered discipleship.15:10 — Gethsemane: strength instead of reliefA reframing of Gethsemane—Jesus' burden was not removed, but strength was added.18:45 — “Am I willing to stay?”Deb speaks to quiet faith, showing up without emotional confirmation, and the courage of staying.22:10 — Gratitude: what it is notScott clearly defines what gratitude is not: forced optimism, minimizing pain, or spiritual cheerleading.25:00 — Gratitude as alignmentGratitude reframed as noticing presence rather than pretending relief.27:30 — Practical reframing in real lifeExamples of gratitude that sound like: “It didn't spiral today.” “I made it through.” “I felt held, even quietly.”30:30 — What we look at growsThe core thesis repeated and grounded: attention shapes experience.33:00 — Closing invitationA gentle invitation to stop measuring discipleship by emotion and to notice where Christ already is.
